Romulus just stared at Maharet for a moment or two before he realized what was happening to him at that very moment as she said those words. Normally that would have phased him but not today. No, today he was just going to go with it as she said it while looking down at her for a moment with a raised eyebrow. Shaking his head softly once more, and then blinking as he looked up and down at the table that was looking back at him. A sharp sneer their ways made their heads turn away rather fast, and smirked softly as he sat down quite impressed he had acted like the class bully. Oh no, he wasn't just a lowly hufflepuff anymore, and telling Zmeyette the truth about why he had saved her when he was little might just complicate things.
In the long run, she might even respect him more if he did tell her that, but Romulus never like admitting he had ever healed anyone in his life. Even so, he stuck with a lie that he had basically almost mutilated her when their play-fighting had gotten out of hand. Only Maggie was the one one who knew the truth about that too, and it was supposed to be one of his well-kept secrets that he entrusted her with. Romulus definitely needed to make the right decision now and it was getting so much closer to the actual time to eat. Even as he heard her comment, it had to run a few times through his head to understand what that meant.
"Sorry, Maggie, I believe you'd not be able to fit it all in your mouth, ever," he said to her, smirking as he merely said it into her ear. Letting her know he was just joking, but his voice was traced with a hint of lust evident. Just the way he acted around her as he trailed one hand along her thigh teasingly until he moved it away just to give the others the effect he wanted. It was also to tease Maharet into thinking he was coming onto her, but if she knew his feelings he wasn't going to act on anything at all. No matter how often his lower extremities often denied what he truly felt. Romulus sometimes wished that part of his body would just stay out of this at times.
Nodding his head towards the others at the table, but he actually sat away from them just to have some space alone with Maggie, "So, on a serious note, you can't just be hungry for meat, don't you want that delicious milk to spew down your throat and just let you revel in it's taste as you swallow it," he said to her, letting her imagine whatever she wanted.

”Oh really?” By that point she was completely ignoring the people that surrounded her. It had been too long a time of her being so playful around Romulus she missed it even. Those few months that she had been with Hector, the two boys hating each other so passionately, it hadn’t left her much time to be around Rom. Given the state of how things ended she should have just told Hector to suck it up, but she hadn’t for him, in a way. Romulus seemed to have understood though, considering how quickly they had fallen back into their usual. It was one of those friendships that no matter how long the absence, it was so easy to slip back into it where they had left off.
She hadn’t smiled so genuinely in a single hour as she had while with Rom. Letting her gaze drop down to his groin an eyebrow raised a small sound of inquiry slipping past her lips. Aside from knowing that Romulus was off limits because of Zmeyette that didn’t mean that Maggie wasn’t going to look and admire just like she would any other guy of interest. There was no harm in that. Even some friendly petting was acceptable, as was proven as Romulus’ hand found its way to her thigh. Her body reacted in kind, a shiver rippling up her spine at his touch.
Glancing down to where the milk was she regarded in skeptically as though she were working really hard on making a decision. “It would be refreshing.” She played along, trying not to laugh. “Only as long as there will still be some left by the time I work my way around to some apple pie.” Really Maharet could continue on with the sexual innuendos all night. She got a kick out of it really. In the moment she didn’t feel any of the usual pressure that weighed down on her shoulders. There was no agenda to attend to, no worry of saying the wrong thing and blowing her cover, nothing but a good time with a good friend in front of her.
Finally letting her laughter out she leaned into Romulus’ side thoroughly enjoying his company and gave him a chaste kiss on the cheek. It was innocent enough, something that passed between good friends, at least when they were good friends of hers, often. Truthfully she was craving meat and stabbed her fork into a small cutlet transferring to her plate and then poured a glass of milk to take a long sip from it. Licking the corner of her mouth she winked at Rom. Hector? Hector who? Her mind was completely off the nuisance of a boy now.

Romulus merely jested at her in good fashion again as she said that, and soon just let that conversation die down for fear that his friend would walk in on it at the wrong part. Although, that usually would have made Romulus laugh pretty loud, but he knew that his own friend didn't like anyone in particular at all. Somehow, Romulus had gotten underneath his skin to help him try to get Zmeyette's attention, but now he had another dilemma on his hands too. Lucian was interested in this Vasilisa girl that he needed to teach a lesson before she could even consider snogging with him in the first place. Romulus knew he saw Lucian as his younger brother, but the way they acted was indeed like good friends would. Bashing one another in friendly banter, and not having to tear each others throats out not having to worry about whether or not they're going to offend one another.
Romulus was rather hard to predict when he wanted something, but it was in his nature to be patient if he wanted to wait for something. Having waited for at least seven years to go after Zmeyette, meant he had all the patience in the world for her to actually notice him for a change. There was going to be much more attacks on the school, or he sensed it for now, but when they would be would be when he would strike to make himself take a little of the blame. Make people fear him even more, and perhaps go through the effort to cause a detention based solely off of pretending to be the one that attacked said person.
Or he could literally just attack a student to make it look like he really was just doing it for fun no matter who it was, and mainly after mud bloods or blood traitors. Romulus shook his head, there was time for that when he was out of Hogwarts and he could let Fenrir finally turn him. Finally taking his turn to eat his own meat and then he did indeed drink some milk and casually flicked a little straight onto Maggie's face to tease her. "There's your milk, Maggie, better drink it up, you don't want to be famished. Oh don't worry, you'll certainly get quite the fill and I prefer warm apple pie over hot," he chuckled as he spoke those words to her, just having a good time with her was always fun too.

theres a thunder in our hearts baby so much hate for the ones we love TAG: Maharet and Romulus WORDS: 342 ONE LAST THING: sorry for the wait.
Dinner, the most important meal of the day, at least for werewolves it was. He was tempted to go into the forest and kill for his own dinner but the thought of getting dirty and having to head straight to the showers simply didn’t sit well with him that night. He didn’t want to get dirty, all he wanted as a thick piece of bloody meat. Maybe the house elves finally got the steaks right tonight.
Running a hand through his hair messy hair, he honestly couldn’t care less about appearances. Reputation more important to him than looks. He was the big bad wolf at the school and that was how it was going to stay. Ok one of the two big bad wolves, the other being Romulus. They were just as bad a one another, a bad influence on the other. Where was his friend anyways, he wondered. It wasn’t like him to care where others were but Romulus needed help with a certain girl, shouldn’t he be here trying to come up with ideas on how to get Zmeyette? Maybe Romulus had heard that he was interested in Vasilisa, but that was no reason to avoid him. Ah screw him, he cursed the werewolf as he turned on his heels and headed out of the Hufflepuff common room, knocking over a second year puff on his way out.
He didn’t stop until he reached the great hall. He looked over the entire hall and noticed Romulus with...Maharet. What the hell, he wanted to yell out to them. This was not the time for Romulus to play games with other girls. Not once had he even appeared to be interested in anyone but Zmeyette and here he was with Maharet of all people. He narrowed him eyes as he made his way over to them and sat down next to Romulus, glaring at him then at Maharet before reaching for the steaks. "Why can’t they get the damn steaks right," he cursed out loud, his voice giving into an angry growl.

As Romulus playfully flicked the milk at her rather than smacking him or being angry in any way she was just amused. Bringing her hand to her face a finger wiped away the small amount of milk, compliments of Rom, and sensually, in a very dramatic and showy fashion, sucked it off. She simply couldn’t help herself such opportunities shouldn’t have been neglected. Besides Maggie loved the thought of the kiddies around her getting all hot and bothered over the action. Her desire to get over the irritation that had fell on her not too long ago was in full swing by that point. Romulus was the perfect distraction and she felt so deprived of his company- but that was her own fault. It had been a necessary sacrifice in making Hector think she was really interested in him. To have continued to hang around someone that was his enemy hadn’t seemed like such a good idea, even if Romulus was her best friend.
Too caught up in Rom she didn’t notice Lucian coming until he was already seated and spoke up. Leaning forward slightly to look around Romulus she flashed him a sweet smile, something that probably wouldn’t be appreciated but a gesture that Maharet wanted to offer regardless. “Because house elves are incompetent.” She preferred the well-done steaks that were cooked for their meals but it was common knowledge that there were quite a few werewolves in the school and they craved red meat. They could have been a little more accommodating. Lucian didn’t look pleased but Maggie couldn’t tell if it was because she was there, the food wasn’t cooked to his liking, or some unrelated issue- there was a chance that it was just typical Lucian flashing his winning personality like usual.
Maharet liked to do her best to keep on Lucian’s good side. He might not have liked a lot of people but that didn’t mean that she couldn’t put effort into preventing Lucian to not hate her. Complimentary, flirty, non-intrusive... it was her way of being affable for Lucian. “Nice to see you, Sunshine.” It had been a while considering her general avoidance of Rom in her momentary lapse in judgment, something that would eventually be remedied and put back into proper working order. In other words, Hector would be in the proverbial doghouse with his tail tucked between his legs whimpering.

"Steaks aren't that hard to cook, they should learn some damn manners while they're at it. Hell with house elves, I'd cook a better meal than them any day, considering I prefer meat raw," he said idly and smirked towards his friend as he started to look towards the others at the table. Regarding Lucian and Maharet with unsavory eyes that said he wasn't in the mood to hear them bickering, but he did have some students rather fearful of him already. Wondering what was up with Lucian aside from the fact he forgot that what Maharet was doing was making him look like he was taken. Romulus just gave her an evil glare for a moment, but made no attempt to push her away as he was amused by the slight gesture of her sucking on her fingers.
"If you must slurp in my ear, do it my Lucian, I'm sure he'd enjoy it more than me, after all, I've got things to worry about. Considering all my recent attempts at Zmeyette have failed, I'm thinking I may have to come up with a completely new way to go after her," he mused, and now the old Romulus was back speaking about Zmeyette as she was the only thing on his mind again. Using her in his own schemes was great and all, yet he preferred not stalking the seventh year Slytherin as much as Lucian surely did. Both of them had their faults, and recently Romulus had made a rather huge impact on a Hufflepuff muggle born. Having even let her touch him made him growl, but the way he let her down had left most of her friends devastated at how cruel he could be.
Romulus merely laughed at them, and thought they were shallow for even considering he would want to be even remotely interested in Payton. 'I never thought toying with emotions could be so fun though, it's much more satisfying than it looks," he stated referring to such an event. Hell, he had done it in the common room for all to see, telling Payton that she wasn't even worth his time right before she kissed him. Then after that he had totally shunned her and basically might as well have slammed the door into her face. Shrugging slightly he turned towards Lucian now again, "So, anyone from the quidditch team try ganking you yet?" he asked solemnly while chewing on a piece of steak whilst hating the savory cooked taste...it was so much better raw.

theres a thunder in our hearts baby so much hate for the ones we love TAG: Maharet and Romulus WORDS: 338 ONE LAST THING: n/a.
He narrowed his eyes at Maharet. Sunshine? He was no sunshine, how dare she give him inappropriate nicknames. If she wasn’t a werewolf lover and someone close to Fenrir, he'd rip her from limb to limb. But as it so happens she was close with Fenrir and he didn’t want to get the alpha wolf angry. "What's so nice about seeing me?" he spat back at her before turning his attention back on the food. Well the steak was out, guess he'd have to settle for chicken. Ok so it was still cooked, but at least it chicken was better cooked than steak.
He ignored the two beside him, whatever they were doing, couldn’t they at least have the decency of finding an empty room that had a lock on the door. He glanced up and looked over at the Slytherin table. Where was Vasilisa, he wondered, and Zmeyette too. "Why act so... childish, she's not even here," he turned back to Romulus. What was that about toying with emotions, being fun? That he could so agree on, well toying with the emotions of fear and rage anyways, not the love shit that everyone seemed to have. He didn’t know how to love anyone but his mother and brother. He never really let people get close to him, only his kind and even then they never really hung out in a group.
He cut the chicken up and popped some in his mouth, chewing on it before swallowing the not so tasty cooked flesh.
"So, anyone from the quidditch team try ganking you yet?" "Makenna tried. Not my fault she wasn’t paying attention to the bludgers. Lyra said something about seeing me after the game, still waiting for that 'meeting'," he replied. He didn’t care if he hurt Makenna, or if Lyra was pissed at him. She ought to be thankful; he showed her one of the team's weaknesses, the ability to not pay attention. Perhaps she had thought of that and had let him off the hook.

She was being ironic but didn’t take the liberty of pointing that out to Lucian. There were a lot of things that she kept to herself when it concerned the gruff werewolf. Maggie was very wary of him and for good reason- Lucian was unpredictable and she hadn’t yet figured out how to deal with him like she had so many other werewolves. He wasn’t to be trifled with lightly. Keeping the smile on her face despite the clearly disapproving nature of Lucian’s stare Maharet didn’t waver. Being cautious and being afraid were two different things. She knew that it was unlikely that he would harm her, but that didn’t mean that she was stupid enough to push Lucian too far. “That handsome face of yours of course.” Just like that though Lucian was back to putting his attention on his food.
Maharet didn’t think that Lucian fully understood the concept of friendship, which if she did it seemed a bit sad that he couldn’t. Romulus wasn’t acting childish- he was just having a bit of fun. “Why don’t you loosen up once and a while, Lucian. Get laid or something.” She was being a little bit defensive of Rom, regardless of that not being necessary, but she did care for him and it made her a little cranky that Lucian couldn’t see past his own cynical tendencies. Maggie happened to agree with Romulus when it came to how entertaining it could be to toy with emotions; she did it often enough after all.
Having been to that particular Quidditch game, considering at the time she had been dating Hector and it was obligatory to show her support, Maggie couldn’t help but laugh lightly. As much of an unfriendly bastard as Lucian could be he did make her laugh with his antics. It wasn’t like she liked Lyra or Makenna anyway so it was double the bonus. Hufflepuff had been lacking in attention, no one could really blame Lucian for what he had done. It had helped them out slightly. Who knew maybe it would teach the team a lesson. Munching on her food Maharet simply watched the two boys interact.

Romulus almost chuckled at Lucian's attitude and then out of nowhere merely nodded towards him as he spoke in return. "Maharet, don't worry, it's all good fun, otherwise we'd already be ripping each other's throats out right now. Speaking of which, we need to let our inner instincts some more, how about some sparring matches after lunch?" he asked calmly. Flexing his muscles lightly as Romulus soon ordered his own steak and then finally focused on the mashed potatoes he had ordered for some odd reason didn't seem appetizing to him anymore. Whatever had happened to originality these days in their foods and Romulus was actually wanting to have some fresh deer meat again as he smirked softly at the thought of going to the Forbidden forest. Maharet was certainly his friend, but not as much as Lucian was with the way they rough-housed sometimes.
The best way to keep up with each other's skills was only to practice on one another, and then Romulus merely cringed at the mention of Zmeyette from Lucian's mouth. "Ugh, she's starting to bother me a little too much now, I'm seriously considering giving up chasing her...but that would be so pointless after all the work I've put in leaving a path of chaos behind me. If you wish I could arrange to have Makenna befall an 'incident' that will make her more prone to believe how much weaker she is," he said rather hoarsely and almost in a whisper that was barely audible to the point that Lucian would need to rely on his exceptional hearing for. Maharet would have caught wind of it after their strange conversation here.
Romulus was glad that he had another Hufflepuff just like him who actually didn't give a shit about the world and saw it as it was. If he wanted to make his own pack in the world, then he would have to follow in Fenrir's footsteps and learn all his tricks before he moved on to the next world. Romulus really didn't think it was possible for a legend such as Fenrir Greyback to actually pass into the next life. No, there was no way that would happen to him, and that negative way of thinking was definitely one way to get himself killed. Either way, he was happy to be here for now, but would never let anyone reveal his true feelings about the rage he felt at anyone spreading blasphemy about Fenrir's name. Romulus would usually just cause an outrage at that, but would calmly keep his temper until the opportune moment to strike out against them.
