Ivan was one of the few Gryffindor's that avoided the library at all costs and even right now he probably could have asked Roxanne Weasley for help. Still fretting about the end of term and what he would need to do to keep her sticking around just for him. Not that he was essentially worrying about that at the moment like some worried nilly. As far as he was concerned, she could do whatever she wanted without him knowing, but deep down he liked being the hopeless romantic he ought to be. Right now, he knew he had all the time in the world to deal with whatever obstacles came up in the long run. Filing through the drawers of the dresser he had tugged on a petty white t-shirt and left his bed-hair a mess. Even after having a quick shower, tugging on some black boxers with some blue jeans to go with it. After all, it was the summer and he felt like wearing what he wanted to.
Ever since Kingsley had become the headmaster there really wasn't an actual dress code they had to follow, but most students wore what they saw fit to actual events. Even right now, as Ivan soon tugged on the black dress shoes, he was soon adorning himself in the traditional navy blue robes of Hogwarts with the Gryffindor embroidery on them. Heading down the hall way, and out of the common room, soon taking the moving stairs to the fourth floor. Luckily they seemed to be moving in the right direction this time. Ivan hated jumping those things because you never knew if one would be below you or not.
Looking down, he noticed all of the other moving stair-cases locking together but it was forgotten as he entered the library to find a book to read just for the sake of getting rid of sheer boredom. Even if he wasn't about to keep his own sanity just from reading, but Ivan normally would be pulling a prank at this time. Brown eyes scanned the area while scratching his head lightly looking for a spot to sit and noticed a rather beautiful Ravenclaw girl sitting at a table so he figured "Why not?" in his mind. Soon he sat down there, and then spoke to the girl, who looked more like an attractive woman to him, "Excuse me beau-I mean, miss, may I sit here?" he asked, blushing slightly at the little slip-up. Just a little bit of flirting wouldn't hurt.

Arielle had a bit of studying to do. Of course, it wasn’t exactly… well, she didn’t need to be studying, we can just say that. Arielle was one of those Ravenclaws that liked to study… even when they didn’t have to study. Arielle usually didn’t spend a lot of time in the library… she much preferred studying outside or in the courtyard. Unfortunately… those parts of the grounds had been plagued by annoying students, and had ultimately denied Arielle the right to study out there. The library was just so… dark, and… dusty. Arielle much preferred the outdoors.
Either way, the girl roused herself rather early… seven a.m. Normally she wasn’t an early riser… nine o’ clock was usually her wake up time when she could… but she had things to study for. Well, not really. But it wasn’t like she had anything better to do! Arielle dressed herself after a quick shower and had on a light pink dress that came between her mid and lower thigh. Arielle ran her fingers through her hair, weaving them in a loose braid which she tossed over her shoulder, and slipped her shoes on her feet and her Ravenclaw robe over her shoulders. That was the thing about not exactly having a dress code… Arielle could wear whatever she wanted… which was helpful, since she was particular about the things that she wore.
Upon exiting the common room, she clutched onto her bag and headed on her way towards the library, getting there in record time. She loved walking about the castle at such early hours; no one was about and she didn’t have to worry about running into anyone or avoiding anyone. Arielle was rather introverted and preferred not talking to people… hence why she couldn’t study out by the lake, and why she was on her way to the library instead of sleeping in and spending time in the common room with friends. Finding herself a smaller table towards the back, or at least mid way back from the entrance, she sat, facing the door, and pulled her transfiguration book out from her bag.
Arielle immediately immersed herself in the words, not paying attention to anyone around her, and not paying attention to anything that wasn’t transfiguration for the time being. So, naturally, she didn’t pay attention to the Gryffindor boy that had entered the library and was heading in her direction. She didn’t notice the movement of him pulling out a chair and sitting down until he spoke. ”Excuse me beau-I mean, miss, may I sit here?”
Arielle glanced over, looked back down at her book, and then looked up again, one eyebrow raised. What did he just say? ”Wha-I mean yeah, that’s fine, suit yourself…” she said quietly, noting the slight blush on the boy’s cheeks. ”Gryffindor? What are you doing in the library?” She joked and wondered why was she making conversation. That really wasn’t typical Arielle…her cheeks filled with light color. "Sorry, didn't mean to be rude. I'm Arielle."[/blockquote]

Ivan started to realize that sitting here may have been a mistake seeing as he couldn't take his eyes off of Arielle, but he knew he had other people to talk to as well. Roxanne would surely be furious, but he was only talking to this girl, it wasn't like he was fraternizing with the enemy at the moment. Roxanne definitely was beautiful, but in comparison to Arielle, he knew that Roxanne definitely paled for beauty. Now he was being rather shallow and he almost didn't care. Even at this precise moment as he was thinking about this girl, he technically hadn't asked Roxanne out yet, but they could already be seen as dating.
Even if he had met Arielle before meeting Roxanne, he normally wouldn't throw himself out there, but for some reason he wanted to impress this Ravenclaw on the spot. Sure, she may be smart, but that was no excuse for him to act like every other bloke around her that liked her. Ivan, himself personally, didn't like guys that were straight-forward about their feelings. Even if he was beating around the bush, he still had a great way of saying hello at times. This was no exception considering he had almost messed up what he was going to say. Just like how Ivan had to catch himself from calling her beautiful without considering the consequences of the rumors that would go around.
Roxanne would definitely hear about it, and right now he was more content on studying the library. Mainly studying her from afar would have been preferred until she spoke to him. Now the spot-light was on him and he didn't know what else he could do make it look less obvious as to what he was doing, blushing deeply now. Ivan was staring at her lips and her beautiful blue eyes. Almost captivated by them a little too, but now he had to say it. "My, I could easily get lost looking into your eyes, sorry, I'm Ivan Kirke, pleasure to meet you. Wow your name is just as beautiful as you are, I might add," he said to her.
Sure this shameless flirting wouldn't get him in trouble, but it wasn't like he was asking her out.

Arielle looked back down at her transfiguration book, although she was having quite a hard time focusing on it as she could feel the boy’s eyes on her. The color that had already shown on her cheeks was now raising as she gave him a sideways glance and shoved her bottom lip into her mouth and bit down on it, hard. ”My, I could easily get lost looking into your eyes, sorry, I’m Ivan Kirke, pleasure to meet you. Wow your name is just as beautiful as you are, I might add.” At his words she slowly looked up from her book and at him, shocked… as one could tell by the elevation of her eyebrows. She wondered if he blatantly flirted with girls like this often! Well it would only make sense if he did, since… he was quite good at what he was doing.
Arielle couldn’t find the words to say anything to him. You see, she’d planned on waking up rather early, finding herself a quiet place in the library, then studying transfiguration first, then potions, and then charms. Saving the best for last. Arielle hadn’t added in any time to be spent chatting away with someone… especially a boy! She had her entire day planned out, and he wasn’t a part of it. The inside part of Arielle squealed for breaking plans… but there was still a smaller part of her that was excited that she didn’t have to study. Which was an odd feeling, that was for sure. Arielle just smiled until she thought of the words to say. If she had planned on being flirted with (and come on, who can plan that out?) she probably would have dressed differently, or at least had a few lines of her own. But that was impossible… since no one can plan out flirting with someone… unless they know that the person was going to be there at that specific time. But she’d just met this guy!
Arielle took her left hand and took hold of her loose braid. She didn’t know what to say about the eye comment… or any other comment, for that matter. Arielle wasn’t the best flirt, that was for sure! Maybe… well, maybe it was because the situation was a bit different from usual… he was highly complimentary and not just trying to get into her pants. Yes. That was the difference. ”Oh, um,” Oh lovely, now she couldn’t form coherent sentences. Some Ravenclaw! ”Thank you,” she said quietly and then quickly added, ”and, it’s nice to meet you too.” Arielle offered Ivan a friendly smile.
Arielle had always felt a bit self conscious about her eyes… not only were they a bright shade of summery blue, but the contrasted heavily with the color of her dark brown hair. The girl got asked a lot if she dyed her hair, and she’d even been asked once if she was a metamorphmagus. But, if she were a metamorphmagus, wouldn’t she be able to change her hair different colors besides brown? Of course. That was what was so irritating… people could just be plain stupid at times. That irritated Arielle. So, therefore, she didn’t take compliments that had to do with her eyes very lightly… considering… they made her self conscious…

Ivan knew the library wasn't just for Ravenclaw's but it seemed to suit this girl who had trapped his heart almost instantly. Caught in those aspiring, beautiful eyes of hers, but he realized he may have hit a nerve with his last comment. Obviously making a mental note to keep that to himself, but it was a little late for that now, plus he had the desired effect of her being baffled at first by his forwardness. Arielle, that was indeed a beautiful name, but he had to consider what else he could say to make this less awkward, since after all they had just met and he really didn't want to take this anywhere. So changing the tone, he looked over at the books she was studying and found himself glancing at the ones he found. Quidditch through the ages and the care of magical creatures book were in his hands.
Surely, this wasn't the path he wanted to take, but starting with these subjects was a big step for anyone. Staring into another's eyes was considered rude so he always tried hard not to do it, but since hers were so captivating it was hard not to. Curious as to why anyone would have not blushed hard from his statement he soon just looked at her beautiful full lips. Almost licking his own, but he caught himself since that would have been very awkward. "Ah but I believe the pleasure is all mine, mon cherie," he said with a slight french accent playfully near the end. Obviously he was playing around now, but even so it was to help her relax a bit more as he could sense that she was a little tense around him. As most people would be around complete strangers. Not wanting to hold that against her, but he was certain he had sensed a connection of some form between them.
Ivan closed his yes, and kissed the back of her hand gently letting his lips trail along her arm just once, then pulled away not wanting to get caught up in that. After all, signs of affection like this indicated he was going a little over-board. Just testing her reactions to all of this, and then he just nodded towards her. "Sorry, I kind of got carried away, but you're so beautiful, which I was refraining from saying earlier...now I know I should have just been honest. Anyways, what are you studying if I may ask?" he said, blatantly changing the subject, but he was blushing deeply whether she could see it or not.

It was taking a lot of effort for Arielle to contain the blushing that was surely going to take over the entirety of her face momentarily. Arielle was one who ended up blushing quite a bit, but she’d learned to control it to a point where she could at least manage to keep it from spreading her ears and to her neck. Her cheeks were one thing… but… Right now, just talking to Ivan was causing her cheeks to fill with color and the girl was making a conscious effort to avoid the awkwardness that was surely to follow with the blushing spreading to the tips of her ears… Arielle looked down at her transfiguration book, calming down a little bit as Ivan started to speak in a… well, somewhat of a French accent. The girl gave him a sideways glance at first, a little smirk upon her lips before she actually looked at him. And no, Arielle was not able to contain her blushing when Ivan took her hand in his own and placed a kiss on it. Arielle subconsciously put her other hand to her chest as she watched his actions, her eyes first resting on where he kissed her hand and then to his face. Her free hand made its way to her face; she curled her fingers into a fist and rested them on her cheek, just feeling the heat radiate away. Arielle was sure that the color had finally spread to the tips of her ears, and she immediately wished she had left her hair down, so she would be able to hide the blushing that was bound to spread to her ears or her neck. But then again, she hadn’t planned on talking to a boy in the library… an extremely forward and flirtatious one at that! But she didn’t mind. Arielle’s little smirk was replaced with a sheepish smile as she was allowed to take her hand back… and she set it against her cheek to match her other hand.
”Transfiguration,” she said quickly, unable to think of anything else to say. ”I… I mean I got an O in Transfiguration. But it was the first book I opened…” Yes, she sounded like a nerd. ”Oh, and being honest is a good trait.” She tacked on quietly, switching her smile yet again to a sweet smile as she looked at him, glad that he had gotten what he’d said out… It for some reason made her feel a bit more at ease and comfortable with the situation, which someone could more than likely tell just by her body language which switched to just a little bit more relaxed. Ivan though it was cute the way she tried to contain her blushing, and surely he knew many girls that would do so just from him talking to them. After all, he was indeed a flirt, but he should probably stop there while he was ahead. Otherwise he'd really get in trouble and someone else would so hear about it. Not that he wanted this rumor spreading, but surely if Roxanne picked up word of him hitting on another female that was twice as beautiful as she was. There would certainly be some issues that would arise. Surely he knew how to handle them, but this was undercover, plus he doubted that Arielle would go telling everyone that he was into her.
If so, he had an easy remedy for that, but he didn't want to hurt her feelings after telling her how beautiful she was. Technically, Roxanne and Ivan weren't going out yet, so she was fair game right now, but he decided to just put that on hold. Opening the care of magical creatures book as she told him which class she was studying. Transfiguration, well he didn't want to sound lame while saying how great it was, but he knew there was really nothing he could say at all. Obviously she was smart too, but he wasn't going to mention anything about his grades. After all he only got an E in that class, but it was still something to brag about even to a Ravenclaw.
Ivan was great at Defense Against the Dark arts, actually getting an O in that class, but he got an E in Potions too and O in Care for Magical Creatures. Right now he was currently fending off the possibility that there was some form of connection between him and her. Watching her blush, he soon smirked blushing himself in return losing his cool. It was obvious he was flushed and didn't know what else he could say, but he was going to try. "Ah, so do you come here often? I'm just catching up on some Care of Magical Creatures, even though I've read this book a hundred times," he stated rather plainly too wanting to seem cool.
Sure, he liked reading the book, but he had only skimmed it a few times, which had been enough for him. Now he was actually reading it instead of just skimming over it, reading about Lethifolds.

See, now school was going to be the only way that Arielle would be able to control the color that had risen over her entire face. School was serious, and school was business, and you could plan for school, because more or less it was the same thing every day. You go to class, you learn, you get homework. You go to the common room and then do your homework. The only thing you couldn’t plan for was how much homework you got. Or… what type of homework. But Arielle had all of the teachers pegged for what they usually gave… Professor Heiting was her favorite as he usually gave just pop quizzes. Unfortunately, this was Arielle’s third time taking flying, and even in October she’d yet to get up in the air.
Arielle decided that was one thing she wasn’t going to tell Ivan. Surely he wouldn’t talk to her because she wasn’t very good at flying! Of course, that would be a stupid reason to not like someone, but then again, weren’t Ravenclaws supposed to be good at everything? Arielle had gotten all Os and Es on her OWLs, and was extremely glad when she found out that Flying was not a part of that. School was her forte… athleticism was not.
”Not really… I usually try to study outside, but I’m not exactly a fan of the pestering younger years…” she said quietly, flipping a page in her Transfiguration book and skimming the words on the page. By now she wasn’t even reading, and wasn’t even sure if she was on the correct page. But… if she… surely this boy had a girlfriend, one as flirtatious as he was! Flirting would not do her any good… although she was finding it increasingly difficult. ”And that is a rather interesting book… I personally enjoy the chapter on the Lethifold…” she said quietly before adding, ”and unicorns, of course.” And there was her blushing again as she flipped another page in her Transfiguration book, still not doing any reading.

Ivan was watching her closely and carefully to see if she was even attempting to move away from him, however, he wouldn't put it past her to actually try flirting with him back. After all, she was sure beautiful and wondered if many guys hit on her in general. Even though he wasn't trying to see how easy she was, but since him and Roxanne weren't even official it was only right for a little tour of Hogwarts, not that she needed one having been hear for six years it looked like already. So maybe this was just to create a conversation and remove some tension from the already building ice over their conversation. Deciding to take a step forward he soon closed the book after hearing that as he raised an eyebrow towards her.
"That's actually what I just skimmed over, and I despite any form of dark creature, although I know that a patronus can easily best them. As stated by a wizard that had barely escaped himself having been only half-awake to realize something was about to suffocate him. I'm curious as to why people would sleep there in general if they hear rumors about lethifolds, they could just apparate elsewhere, if they knew how," he commented. Speaking his mind, since it was rather silly to just sit there and let sleep take you to be overcome by one of the dark creatures. Ivan would at least put up a fight before he was bed-ridden.
Of course, lethifolds were probably genderless and no one could really tell how half of these creatures were male or female. Ivan knew that the centaur females were going extinct, but he had no intention of actually seeing one. As surely he'd have a hard time resisting her alluring charm, but at the same time he was attempting to resist Arielle's overwhelming beauty. As well as her intelligence since it shown rather well, which he liked in a woman.

Oh, Arielle was used to being hit on. It was just… it didn’t happen very often that she would flirt back, because she had to actually feel some sort of… connection of sorts. Or… well, she didn’t usually think about it. If she flirted, it just came naturally. It wasn’t something that the Ravenclaw had a lot of practice in because lets face it, she is a Ravenclaw! Well, what is meant by that is that she was more of an introvert as it was, and spent a lot of time studying for things that didn’t exactly need to be studied for… and preferring to be alone… because people are annoying and had a tendency to just cause drama. Arielle wasn’t one that liked being in the center of drama. It just made things… annoying. Arielle was actually impressed by Ivan’s knowledge of lethifolds. It was true that the only way to prevent a lethifold attack was to cast a patronus… ”I wonder what on Earth made the man think to use a patronus?” Arielle wondered aloud, blushing a little at her outburst of curiosity. ”And why on earth would someone be sleeping in the tropics…” she said, amused, but then quickly tagged on ”But then again, they could have been looking for creatures to document.” Arielle nodded slightly at her realization before looking back down at her book.
Arielle wondered if Care of Magical Creatures was one of Ivan’s favorite classes… and then decided upon being logical and assuming that he did enjoy it, by putting the puzzle pieces together. Ivan had mentioned reading the book many times, and he had knowledge of lethifolds… Arielle felt a smile come across her lips. Yes, she was impressed. Normally conversations that started out with her being hit on did not end up in the direction that this conversation has led. Without really thinking, she turned to Ivan and asked, ”What do you know about a pogrebin?” she asked quietly, a smile on her lips.

Ivan really couldn't believe that he was even bothering having a conversation about magical creatures at the moment, but he was still there with Arielle thinking this was just a dream. Even so, there were a few events he could ask her out to in the near future, but he was uncertain of when that time would be. Finally just letting his thoughts go uninhibited he soon let his mind wander to her body and looked over her face once more. Always focusing on her beautiful summer blue eyes that kept him captivated and then her lovely full pink lips that moved almost perfectly. Ivan was really falling for her right there, but he kept himself composed not wanting to admit that he was actually crushing on a pretty Ravenclaw for a change.
Soon he was blushing again and soon spoke to her as he flipped through pages of the book pretending to have it settle on a different creature than the pogrebin as he kept it shielded from her eyes. Skimming it over slightly using his peripheral vision without using his eyes he soon spoke to her in return, "Why yes, the pogrebin, the russian demon that likes to trail humans a few meters behind them and then just stand in their shadows to eventually drive them crazy? Not a particular favorite of mine. Why do you act just like them? I mean, I meant that in a good way I guess, but that explains a lot. You might be the girl that's been stalking me lately, or I could be wrong. It's my ass isn't it?" he said to her.
Realizing he had sworn and then cursed himself for that but hoped she had a bit of a potty mouth herself. "OH Bullocks, I so just swore again, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to prolong you to such vulgarity, I promise to behave in the presence of a goddess," he added, his ears flaming pink when he said this as his whole, entire face was red with a blush. Obviously he was just lulling her into that false sense of security to where he could ask her out or just for a walk or something.

Arielle wasn’t keeping her eyes and focus on Ivan. But then again, she wasn’t having much luck reading her Transfiguration book with him sitting there beside her. Out of the corner of her eye she could see him looking at her, and a blush completely took over her cheeks. Arielle attempted reading a page on how to transfigure yourself into office furniture but it wasn’t going over so well, and surely it wasn’t being very distracting… or honest… because why on earth would she want to turn herself into a desk chair? She wouldn’t… and surely that much was at least a little obvious.
That was when she’d asked him about pogrebins. Arielle knew about them… she knew about most of the creatures in the book. A small smile crept up on the girl’s lips as he flipped through his book and stopped on a page. Arielle couldn’t read the page, but surely it was about the pogrebin? Why else would he have flipped through his book before speaking about it? Arielle found it rather endearing… and listened to his thoroughly correct explanation of a pogrebin. When he spoke about his bottom, Arielle was completely taken aback and she couldn’t help but laugh… but quickly put her hand up to cover her mouth. She was a little self-conscious about her laugh. ”Yes, I would believe that would make sense… about… your… bum…” Arielle blushed a dark shade of pink. ”But I think I should tell you that it wasn’t me,” she said innocently, glancing back down at her book. Surely he was joking…
Arielle hardly noticed that he had sworn. She was used to it; both of her brothers had extremely vulgar mouths and she had let a few slip herself. But a… goddess? Arielle hardly saw herself that way! ”Well, I…” she said quietly cheeks red as she looked back up at Ivan, ”don’t worry about it. It’s quite alright, I don’t mind.” You see, Arielle was so oblivious, she didn’t see anything coming. Nothing coming… at all.

Ivan just looked at her as if she were a befuddled penguin lost in the north pole after having found a fish that didn't belong to them, and realized there was a group of starving babies near the fish. So of course, that penguin would waddle out of it's way to actually give it's feed to the babies out of generosity, because that same penguin knew it could find another source of food. Yes, that was what Arielle reminded Ivan of right then, but he didn't voice it although he did find it awkward that she covered her mouth when she laughed. In fact, he had enjoyed her laugh as it amused him and he also actually liked it.
There was a joyful tone to laughter and anywhere there was joy , he would surely follow rather quickly. Now he had to keep his composure long enough to ask her a rather important question. "Well, yes, I know my bum isn't that attractive, but you're allowed to look at it whenever I'm not looking. Since I really don't find them to be that attractive...on men that is.....okay I'm gonna stop talking since I'm just gonna dig myself a deeper hole while in the presence of such beauty," he said to her blushing endearingly now towards her. Immersing himself into a deeper connection with her, he was almost tempted to ask if she was doing anything later, and then decided to act on that impulse right away.
No hesitation, but he knew that Roxanne wouldn't go prying into this trivial relationship he was prone to starting. Of course, he was just going to consider it hanging out in the long run and she seemed rather flattered by all of the compliments he was giving her. None that would stop anytime soon. "Did you want to hang out sometime by chance, around the lake maybe or go for a walk down by the forbidden forest? Take a dangerous thrill with me?" he asked her rather politely and plainly as if this was an obvious question that he was hoping she'd say yes to.

It wasn’t so much that Arielle didn’t like her laugh. Well, she did… to a point. When she was actually laughing, she thought it was rather loud and obnoxious, and the library was not a place for loud, obnoxious laughter! Arielle thought that her laugh… was… horrendous. It wasn’t a flirtatious giggle, it was just… loud. And she hated it. It just made her self-conscious, because she didn’t want people looking at her because of it. Which, they did. Arielle had a habit of unintentionally bringing attention to herself, unfortunately. She liked attention, to a point.
Every time that Ivan had said something… that sort of… either didn’t make sense or made him embarrassed, he tried to cover it up by giving her some sort of flattering comment. Not that Arielle didn’t like it, of course she did. What girl wouldn’t? She just wondered why he wouldn’t just… be okay with it. But it didn’t take her mind over for too long, for she was trying to control the blush that covered her cheeks again. Yes, again. Arielle giggled. She wasn’t the type to look at guys bums! No, she never really looked at guys because they were distracting! But there was something about Ivan that seemed to make it… okay to be distracted for once.
See, the thing was, most guys after awhile just gave up on Arielle because she didn’t give in to their flattery. She was always told that boys only want one thing! And that wasn’t an exception for her brothers. She believed it too… and didn’t know why she was giving in to Ivan’s! And when he asked her to hang out with him… why… ”Why, Ivan, we’ve only just met!” she said, tucking a stray and random hair behind her ear and looking down at the table a moment. He was rather flirtatious… so why was it so hard for her to say no? ”I’d… that sounds rather nice,” Arielle smiled at him, daring to move her blue eyes from their gaze on the table to Ivan’s face.

Ivan considered this girl to be rather prude to his own advances, but he could give her that due to her beauty. Surely many guys had attempted the very same thing he had and failed miserably, although he was a seventh year so he did know quite a bit more about Magical creatures in the long run. "Excellent, well when's a good time for you so I can swing by and...take you out?" he chuckled, now making it sound like a date, but then he added a just kidding to the taking out part. Since he would rather not have this being seen as a date, but deep down some part of him was wishing he wasn't attached to Roxanne Weasley right now. Surely, she would come to her senses before the end of the year.
It would end brutally anyways, he could almost sense it, but impending disaster left him with learning to cope with the circumstances he had been left with. Really, it was a toss up to who he would ask to the Yule ball, but at the same time he had to consider if this was really worth it. What would he gain from dating Arielle or even attempting to talk to her more? An endless friendship is what it would get him and he was hoping for a little more on the side. Ivan really didn't consider himself to be that type of the guy and knew that most guys like that ended up with a really bad reputation.
After all, there was nothing wrong with just hanging out with her? If he made her a best friend out of this deal, he would immensely love that, and be able to protect her from anyone that even bothers to attempt hitting on her. Amusing as it would be to him, he wasn't going to be the first to actually let any harm befall her either, and just looked curiously at her. "Oh and my favorite magical creature are the dragons, I'm stuck between a Chinese Fireball and Hungarian Horntail though," he commented to her. The Chinese Fireball choice was probably obvious as to why he had said it.
Notes; Haha she's so cute. xD

Arielle couldn’t really tell if she was flirting. At all. She wondered what would happen if she stepped her game up… actually attempting to flirt. But then again, if this guy flirted with a lot of people, chances were that he wouldn’t remember her lame attempts to… flirt. So it wouldn’t even matter… Arielle sighed lightly. She was thinking about it, though. What she’d say if he did ask her out. Well, of course... yeah, she knew what she would say. Arielle wasn’t thinking about what would happen if he actually did, because she didn’t believe that it would actually happen…
And then it did. Arielle looked at him wide-eyed for a moment, her mouth almost going agape… and then he said it. Just kidding. Arielle looked down at her book and color filled her cheeks. She was feeling incredibly stupid for even thinking that he would be serious about asking her out. Arielle’s fingers ran down the page of her book. ”Uh…a-anytime… is fine…” But wait. Was he just kidding about the “taking her out” part? Or was he just kidding about the entire thing? Arielle didn’t know. And if he were joking about the whole thing she probably just made a huge fool of herself, especially now that the color was spreading and becoming darker, taking over her entire face.
And then there was the thought that he did this with a lot of girls. Chances were high, since he was flirting with her pretty heavily. Maybe he just hit on every girl that had a pretty face… and she was pretty vulnerable and naïve… yeah she had a lot of things going against her at this particular moment. Surely he was just taking advantage of that. Arielle really, really hoped not, because… there was something… well, she felt like there was something, anyway…
Arielle dared to look back up at Ivan when he talked about dragons. Of course they were his favorite. Arielle forced a small sort of smile as she listened. ”Well, that would make sense, of course,” she said quietly. ”They are… magnificent creatures…”
Notes; I’m glad you think so! (: (:

Ivan was raising a curious eyebrow to her when she was glancing over his face and took the time to just wave it off as if it was nothing too serious. Then he should probably clarify the part where he had been joking just to ease the poor girls nerves and she seemed so distraught over the littlest things that really didn't bother him in the first place. Keeping his balance on his own chair he soon started to let his eyes wander further downwards to her lap as if he was trying to catch a glimpse of some form of revealing clothing on her. Ivan knew that it would be too good to be true if a Ravenclaw wore revealing clothing. Just shifting himself in his seat lightly he then looked back to the book that he had opened, and smirked when she said that. ”Uh…a-anytime… is fine…” was all he heard and he knew that there was hesitation in her voice about this, but he paid it no mind. Obviously, he was going to need to do some convincing as he leaned over to kiss her cheek softly, letting his lips press just once against them. Not able to really do that with any of the other girls around here, but he was planning on asking her out to a very important thing without Roxanne's knowledge since he didn't want her knowing about Arielle. That was Ivan's next thought, to end things with Roxanne now so he could have an easier time battling his conscience and decided next month right before everyone started asking people out to the Yule ball. His main concern was keeping Arielle's attention on him despite having plans for near the end of the year, he honestly only could see Roxanne as a fellow prankster now. If not for that, he wouldn't be just doing this with Arielle, he would have already asked her out. "Oh, and that kiss was just for showing me not all Ravenclaws are the same...but then again I never thought that to begin with. Plus, you're the first I ever really sat down to chat with," he said rather plainly. "Oh and as for going out, you're fine with walking around doing absolutely nothing with me besides talking about random things? I think I'd consider you a best friend already," stating it plainly, but he knew that would mean that she would think he was only wanting to be friends now. Ivan had let that kiss on her cheek get to him and he felt himself wanting more than just that. Although he did keep that to himself. Notes; Well it's true, haha, and I think I might talk with Roxanne's owner to see if she wouldn't mind the relationship ending a little earlier than planned...cause I think I want these two to move along faster

Arielle wasn’t one to expect anything from boys. But given her history with them- how much attention she usually got- you would think that one planting a kiss on her cheek wouldn’t do anything to her! Just another one to write down in her “play” book. But not really. She hadn’t at all expected him to kiss her… cheek… and at the gentle touch of his lips against her skin her eyes grew a bit wide in surprise, and instinctively she moved a hand to her dress, pulling it down a little. Arielle loved wearing dresses! But while sitting… and receiving a kiss… it was just habit for her to pull at it a little bit. When he pulled away, Arielle’s lips formed themselves into a sheepish smile, and she could feel a light blushing over her cheeks.
As Ivan spoke about why he had done such a deed, Arielle wanted so badly to take her hand and put it at the spot, but she didn’t. Instead she just looked at him, her sheepish smile still on her lips. ”Well, thank you Ivan, for showing me that Gryffindors aren’t all the same… I was secretly hoping that they weren’t all like my brother…” Arielle sighed, and then immediately wondered why she just told him that… he didn’t exactly need to know that, nor did he probably want to. He probably didn’t even know who Erick was! But instead of dwelling on that thought and why she was just speaking out randomly, she listened to what Ivan said, and took her right hand away from her skirt an rested her elbow on the table, and setting her chin in her hand.
Arielle giggled a little. ”I don’t see who wouldn’t like doing that with you…” she said rather quietly before realizing what she said. She tried her hardest this time to not show her irritation at her… not thinking before acting. The girl sighed lightly through her nose, and quickly dropped her arm back into her lap. ”It sounds a thousand times better than sitting in the library, I mean…” and now she was sounding like she was using him as an excuse to leave the library. Well, she sort of was. But he was a good excuse it seemed! At this point, he seemed so nice, that the comment about being ‘best friends’ didn’t even faze her.
Notes; Aw, alright! Sounds good

Ivan was sure that this girl was rather gullible given the fact she hadn't really had much time to get to know him, but he wasn't going to use her that was for sure. Too beautiful for her own nature, and he was just going along with this as if it were a second nature to him. Unable to grasp reality for a moment as he once again got lost in those beautiful eyes of her, and realized how much of a mistake it had been to compliment her on them. Yes, he was a normal guy like many others, but he was glad to hear she didn't think he was like many of the other Gryffindor guys. James Potter had a horrible reputation of doing that, but at least he was starting to tone it down finally settling with one girl for a change.
It was tough to think when you had a full stomach, but he knew that this was no ordinary chance encounter either as if it was predestined telling him to go out with this woman. Well, with the way she looked, she might as well be considered a beautiful woman, if not, then a girl would just suffice for now. After all, sixteen to seventeen was normally that prime age you could actually develop more. Not saying that she hasn't at all, but Ivan didn't care at all with the difference of being a seventh year compared to this sixth year. Ivan knew that if people wanted to judge him for it, they could kiss his butt for all he cared.
”It sounds a thousand times better than sitting in the library, I mean…” "Yes it does doesn't it? Well I agree, and I would be greatly honored if you accompanied me, Arielle," he said to her softly blushing lightly. Enthused by the way she merely agreed to him, and he noted that it hadn't taken much to convince her to be his best friend. Another thing to check off on his list of qualities why he likes her. Standing up, he soon offered his hand to help her get up, and he wouldn't kiss her hand this time since that gesture seemed to be over-used at some points.

Sure, Arielle was gullible. To a point, of course. She didn’t know Ivan very well, and didn’t know exactly how flirtatious he really was with other girls. All Arielle really knew was that he was incredibly nice and very complimentary… not very much like any of the guys she knew. Her brothers were ridiculous and annoying, and all the Ravenclaw guys… well, not all. Arielle couldn’t speak for all of them… but all of the ones that she spoke to were rather dry and boring… a little quirky, but they’d rather study in the dank library rather than outside, like she would. Needless to say… Ivan was better than any Ravenclaw guys she knew… and better than most of the non-Ravenclaw guys as well…
Arielle ran her thin fingers over her braid and sighed gently, a small smile on her lips. She wondered what he thought of her… appearance wise… considering she hadn’t exactly put a lot of thought into it… she sort of showered, picked out a cute dress and braided her hair and went on her way. Normally she would have worn a bit of make-up and maybe some hair accessories, but she didn’t think that they would be necessary today. However, Ivan didn’t seem to mind that she didn’t look her normal best. She felt awkward, however, and just the thought of it brought a little bit of color to her cheeks. Oh well. At least it was cute, and it was one of her favorites.
When Ivan began to speak, Arielle looked at him, her cheeks still a bit flushed. Walking around with Ivan of course sounded better than sitting in the dusty, boring library. Of course a Gryffindor would feel that way, but she was a Ravenclaw! Apparently she was supposed to like reading in the library. However, when Ivan offered his hand, she blushed a little and took it, standing. She wondered what she would do with her books… since she’d ended up bringing almost her entire library of schoolbooks. That didn’t matter… now... surely no one would touch them because she was rather creative and had given each one a hand drawn cover drawn by her. Each book was different and had a different quality that would tell her which book it was without even opening it. She had contemplated charming them, but thought that would be too much.
And then she got an idea. Arielle took her wand out of the inside pocket she’d sewn into her robe just for it, and waved it, locking the books. She’d read a charm somewhere that they would stay put and not open unless they were touched by her. Arielle was quite protective of her books… hopefully Ivan wouldn’t mind. Well, Arielle didn’t know why he would, since… he wanted to be her friend. Friends accepted little quirks… and her quirk had to do with her books. Arielle poked her wand back into her pocket and smiled at Ivan, tucking some loose hair behind her ear. ”Alright, sorry, I’m ready now.”
