PERSONAL STYLE: For the most part, Raina is a casual girl. In fact, with her, the more casual the better. She's not a particularly stylish girl, and that is something that she has always been perfectly fine with. Having grown up with her father and her brothers for campany, Raina has had very few chances to nurture any feelings of fashion.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Raina has that warm feel to her that’s quite uncommon for the typical of Auror, which makes her stand out a bit more in a crowd. Her built is lean, just enough for it to be required in her job, but still honing the sexy look that stays among her family.

Her face is narrow and round with high cheekbones and a curved nose. Her lips are rosy and rare freckles can just barely be seen from her time spent out in the sun. Her eyes bear a bright blue hue, sparkling with enthusiasm and intelligence. But what really makes her stand out among her family is her wood brown hair rather than the stark dark hair that is adorned by the large majority of her the Solokyovs.

Her hair itself is often worn in a variety of styles. Often at work, Raina will often pull her hair up into a ponytail or something that will not allow her hair to get in her way. But when she’s feeling more indulgent, Raina will let her hair fall freely over her shoulders. However, it is often during more casual times that she will almost definitely decide to leave her hair down. She likes the feel of her hair against her neck in a strange blanket of security. Besides, she likes the look of her hair down itself. Due to her work, make-up and jewellery are seldom worn unless she’s feeling particularly indulgent and she wants her superiors to shake their heads at her.

BIOGRAPHY: Raina Valeriya Solokyov was born on snowy December 15 in Moscow, Russia. For the first few years of her life, she was raised by both her parents. However, soon after her fifth birthday, her parents divorced and her mother left rather abruptly. Her parents parted on such terrible terms that there was absolutely no communication between them afterwards.

All her life while she was growing up as a child, she had been told that her parents were an unlikely couple. Many wondered why they decided to marry in the first place. Many speculated, particularly her grandparents, that perhaps it was out of pure defiance. Or perhaps, there was something more to it. Due to the unpleasant nature of the divorce, Raina's father had been particularly strict about not seeing 'that woman' again and so he was very reluctant to talk about his first and only marriage such that she didn't bother to try after a while. Whatever it was that caused the break between her mother and father, her father had decided to not marry again. He spent a great deal of his time either at work or taking care of Raina and her brother. He never remarried.

Her mother left behind fragments of a family left undone by the ravages of a terrible divorce including herself, her younger brother Lev, and her father. Since they only had each other, they were a very close and tight-knit family. Of course, they also had their grandparents, but her paternal grandparents were more intent on berating her father on his poor choice of wife, thus causing a rift. Since her father tended to overwork himself and was often away on business, Raina often cared for her brother. As such, she is very protective of her younger brother, whether he likes it or not. Although Lev tends to avoid her over-protectiveness, Raina likes to think that it is nothing more than a front.

Once Raina became old enough, she attended Durmstrang Institute. As it was rumoured, the school did have strong base in the Dark Arts. The teaching methods were very particular. It dictated that one could not be truly efficacious at defending oneself against the Dark Arts if one did not have working knowledge of the Dark Arts themselves. So everybody in the school was expected to have performed at least minimal amounts of Dark Arts. As such, Raina became quite proficient in her Dark Arts classes and the Defence of the Dark Arts, a skill that was aided by her natural propensity for the arts. Unlike many of her infamous alumni, Raina had not been lured in by the 'Dark' side. In fact, her exposure to the Dark Arts only strengthened her own resolve against its abuse. Her own personal experience with it involved a friend of hers being corrupted by the Dark Arts. He lost control of his own spell, which flailed out of control and killed an upper classman. Having seen the dark side of magic, she wanted to ensure that it would never be used for evil purposes. So she decided that she would eventually train to become an Auror. With this goal in mind, Raina joined up Duelling Club where she was subjected to some harsh spells due to the brutal nature of Durmstrang's Duelling Club. But in the process, she also learned plenty about herself, in particular her strengths and weaknesses and most usefully, she learned how to work around them. Thankfully, her due diligence and her natural aptitude for the art helped her score the required N.E.W.T's, ranging from O in her Defence Against the Dark Arts class to E in Potions. However, due to her love of travelling, Raina decided to backpack across Europe and Asia soon after she finished school.

For about two years after finishing Durmstrang, Raina went backpacking across Europe and Asia where she familiarized herself with the languages, cultures and native creatures (magical and non-magical) of various countries. As a result of her adventures, Raina gained a fluency in a few select languages where she resided for the longest amount of time. Unbeknownst to her, while she had been travelling across Europe, her maternal grandparents had been attempting to contact her with information of her mother. In fact, her maternal grandparents had been attempting to persuade Faina to contact her old family for years, but she seemed reluctant to. So when Raina became of age, her grandparents decided to take matters into their own hands. However, due to Raina's changing locations, the owl did not have an easy time of finding his target. When she finally received her intended mail, Raina resolved to find her mother and immediately headed off to the given location: England.

But when she arrived in England, Raina decided to start the Auror program in the UK. With her N.E.W.T scores, though not the greatest, they were sufficient in the areas that mattered to the office. So she was accepted into the program. She had managed to convince herself that it wasn't because she was losing her nerve, bur rather that she wanted to start fulfilling her dreams of becoming an Auror. She had someone managed to convince herself that she would look for her mother once she had gotten into the program. However, Raina had not anticipated the program to be quite so arduous and strenuous such that she had very little personal time. During her training, Raina became a translator. The first few times it happened, it was an accident. In the first occurrence, she was a simple bystander in a medical emergency. She just happened to be the only person nearby who spoke Russian. Due to her fluency, she was able to calm down a hysterical man whose fluency in English was questionable, and she explain the situation to both the man and the medical team. There were a few more instances of similar occurrences that she simply allowed the ministry and various other teams call her if there was a need for a translator in the select languages in which she was fluent. In short, she was a last resort translator if no others were available.

Having recently become a full-fledged Auror, Raina is still a bit shiny and new around the edges at times, but she's slowly getting the hang of things. Her team members have slowly learn to depend on her at appropriate times. For example, they know that they can always depend on Raina in a fight, but they know that she will be the first to be distracted from any and all paperwork. Now having completed her training, Raina has no other real reason why she wouldn't possibly searching for and contacting her mother in earnest.
