The day had finally arrived, the day that the champions would be announced. Albus couldn’t wait; he really hoped that either his, Scorpius or Theresa’s names got picked. He didn’t think that there was really any other Slytherin that deserved the title as Slytherin Champion. Albus had actually just slid into the great hall and right next to Theresa and Scorpius right before Professor Shacklebolt had begun the announcement of the start of the ceremony. Good, he wouldn’t have to wait long before the announcing of the champions started. He nodded to his two friends that were next to him and began to pile some food on his plate before glancing around to see which of his family was there. But the first thing he noticed was that at the head table Professor Longbottom was missing. Now normally since Professor Longbottom was the Head of Gryffindor he wouldn’t care all too much, but there’s was the fact that he was a family friend so it did set a small alarm that he was missing. He couldn’t see Professor Longbottom missing these kinds of things, so it made Albus wonder what was up.
Then the hall grew silent as the Goblet turned from the dazzling blue flames to pink ones and then one of the slips flew out and Professor Shacklebolt caught it. Albus half-hoped that the first champion to be called would be the Slytherin Champiom, but instead it was the Ravenclaw champion. Albus applauded with the rest of the school as he watched Claire Gable get up from the Ravenclaw table and head back to the room that the champions were instructed to go to. “You know, I really hope they call the Slytherin Champion next,” Albus said with a smile to his two best friends.

Seizel was watching intently as the whole hall erupted into cheers and the others were looking intently at the flames that were spewing forth from the goblet itself. Flames licked the air as it kept spiraling within the cup, and soon he was starting to look in anticipation as the flames changed color. Once more, he was thinking that something was up with this ceremony, the way Professor Longbottom rushed out, the scene between some of the Slytherins. It didn't really take long for him to put two and two together. There may have been an attack with the worried look on Kingsley's face. So he would indeed share this information with the rest of the Ravenclaws, mainly concealing it to the ones he was sitting beside.
Luckily, Raychel was there, he thought she was beautiful beyond comparison to anyone, however, he kept that to himself. There was another girl he had his eyes set on anyways, but Seizel honestly did respect her authority. Watching the head of the Ravenclaw table sit down he was soon mesmerized by the way the Goblet's fire was obviously spewing out a name right before he was about to mention what was going on with the ceremony. How two Slytherin students had walked in and shouted there was an attack.
Of course, with the panicked looks on their faces it had been hard for Seizel to tell if it was really serious or not, so he left it be for now. There would be time to figure out he details later, and then when Claire's name was called, it didn't seem to be a shocker to him. As for the other champions, well, only three remained. So he thought, but you never knew, someone could have slipped a jinx to make more names spew out like those that they hated or something. The only people who would be able to tamper with it though were the teachers. Kingsley had direct control over the chalice itself since the disaster with Triwizard tournament.
Having the goblet used as a portkey and now times were simpler when no one was being injured or hurt. It was peaceful and Seizel stood up for Claire, clapping his hands then patting her on the back as she walked by. "Make Ravenclaw proud," he said to her. Obviously he didn't enter since he found no joy in being part of the tasks that got you killed, plus he was already the Quidditch captain in the long run. Finally sitting back down and cheering for her, he soon turned back to Raychel, Jaycen, and Vincent who were all sitting close to him.
"I think there was an attack or someone got sent to the hospital wing, those Slytherin students mentioned something to Professor Longbottom, then he ran out to the hall, so we can only assume who did it. There really isn't any way to tell and I already looked at the Slytherin table, most of them are just conversing with each other really, what do you guys think?" he said in a very hushed voice that only they would hear, plus he had also put a sound barrier up around them so no one would actually hear them either.

Kingsley knew that the Goblet wasn't done witht he names yet, and it had only just spewed out the first name. Nodding towards the Ravenclaw as she walked by giving her a genuine smile. Of course even the headmaster had his own expectations from the Goblet of Fire, and if he knew the goblet, one Potter would at least be chosen or even a Weasley. The names that were coming out would be a complete shock to everyone, but the next one wasn't going to be any surprise to him. Even as the Goblet continued to flicker it's blue flames after changing back to it's original colors. Of course it was flickering as if it was about to spew out another name.
Kingsley was just here for the event and to name the champions, then he would go back to discuss with them about all the tasks. Well, actually, he wouldn't be naming the tasks right away, but he'd at least give them something to hint at what the first task will be. As for choosing the tasks well that was going to be up to the headmaster and the other teachers too. Looking towards his staff, he nodded to them in general, but he had to clap as Claire walked by him setting the name down in front of him. Suddenly as Claire passed by the head table, the Goblet flickered again, this time going to the same pink flame.
Spewing forth into the air, the paper slowly twirled down and tumbled into his hand again as he grabbed it out of the air as it almost landed right face down onto it. Flipping it over, he then read the name out loud, "Our next champion will be, Theresa Jay Kelsey, please make your way to the back room and congratulations on representing the house of Slytherin!" he spoke out loud as his voice boomed along the room. Soon the flames on the Goblet went back to their usual blue as it simmered as Kingsley looked around the room waiting for her to stand up.
Hoping he wouldn't have to repeat himself to have her go into the back room, but he soon watched a lot of the Slytherins cheer from their table. A few of them were still muttering, which concerned him a little, but he paid no attention to it.

Dom walked snuck into the great hall just as the name of the Slytherin champion was being read out. She hadn't meant to be late as such but she'd fell asleep while doing her Defense against the dark arts homework, which she hadn't actually gotten done because she'd fallen asleep and no one had bothered to wake her when it was time for the feast, not that she was particullarly looking forward to the feast part of the evening anyway. Slipping into a seat beside Lily, she mock glared at her cousin, "Thanks for waking me!" She said with mock indignition but she couldn't even pretend to be angry for long, she was too excited to find out who else had been choosen by the Goblet of fire and particullarly who was going to be Gryffindor's champion. "Who else has been picked? Anyone from Gryffindor yet" She asked, seeing her other elder cousin James sitting close as well and knowing that he had probably entered his name too and if the Gryffindor champion had already been choosen and it wasn't him, he'd be disappionted so she guessed no Gryffindors had been choosen yet [/size]

theia's eyes flickered up as she saw albus heading toward her and scorp, smiling lightly in greeting she watched him sit and glanced toward the goblet as it spat out a name. she lent forward slightly, eager to catch the first name and then pulling a face slightly as a ravenclaw was called. urgh. ravenclaws. theia's chocolate eyes were cool as they watched a female head over to the door and dissapear. the first champion was chosen.
“You know, I really hope they call the Slytherin Champion next,” theia heard albus speak and grinned lightly. "me too....good luck." she said lightly, voice quiet as she wished her best friend luck incase he was chosen. she knew albus had entered, and scorp too, and she wished them both luck, even if she had entered her name too, they were her best friends and she hoped that it was either her or them that got picked.
her eyes flickered to the fire again as it began to writher and dance, the flames licking higher and higher until finally it spat a name out, theia's chocolate orbs watching the paper's progress as it fluttered into kingsleys hand, her eyes narrowing slightly as she waited for the verdict. "Our next champion will be, Theresa Jay Kelsey, please make your way to the back room and congratulations on representing the house of Slytherin!"
theia blinked, eyebrows raised slightly as she heard her name, a triumphant half grin half smirk stretching across her features as she glanced at scorp then albus, moving to stand quickly. "see you later then i suppose." she grinned, stepping back from the bench as the slytherins cheered, grin changing to a smirk of course as she raised her chin in her usual pride and flitted across to the back room, walk steady as her mind raced ahead. finally a chance to prove herself.. to prove to her parents she was worth something. after their letter about her either winning this tournment or being struck from the family, theia had had to work hard to hide her insecurities and fear. but now that she'd been chosen, she thought things were on the up - of course she felt some regret that it wasn't one of her best friends, but she was still estatic. if she could win this, maybe her parents would finally accept her. maybe she could finally be who they wanted her to be and she'd finally gain their love and respect.
and it was on that thought that, still smirking in that apparently arrogant way, she exited the great hall into the back room and made to wait for the other champions to arrive, interested to see who her competition would be, and how she was going to defeat them...

Just as before, when the tiny slip of parchment floated through the air, seeming to take an agonizingly long time to finally fall down into Kingsley's hand, Lily found knots in her stomach and her breath caught in her throat. She was listening for a familiar name, a Gryffindor name, but of course she was to be disappointed. She joined the rest of the hall in clapping, though certainly not as enthusiastically as she would if the champion were a Gryffindor, as a slightly familiar girl stepped up from the Slytherin table and walked to the front of the hall to disappear through the same door Claire Gable had a moment before.
Looking more closely at the Slytherin table, she saw her brother sitting near where the girl had appeared from. That was what Theresa was familiar, she was one of Albus' friends. Lily only hoped that her 'littlest big brother' wasn't too disappointed about his house's champion. Albus had the Potter blood running through his veins too, so she was pretty sure that he would have put his name in the running as well. But if Theresa were one of his friends of course she was sure that Albus would take it all in good-natured stride and support Theresa as much as possible throughout the famed competition.
She felt movement at her side and returned her attention to the Gryffindor table to see her cousin, Dominique, slide in to the table beside her. "What am I, your mother?" she teased back with a smile, though she felt bad because she'd been the last (awake) girl to leave their dorm room. "Sorry, I guess I just didn't notice you." As though Dom's appearance reminded her, she began looking up and down the Gryffindor table for other familar faces that might be missing. She couldn't imagine why anyone would just ditch the ceremony when it was such an exciting time, but here or there she did see an empty seat that might indicated it was being saved for a friend that hadn't arrived yet. If someone hadn't arrived at this point, Lily thought they might as well not come at all. After all, the ceremony was half over by now.
She did notice, with worry, one face in particular that was missing, though. She double checked the table again, and then again, but Hugo Weasley's bright face was nowhere to be seen. Missing the ceremony wasn't like him at all... he probably wouldn't even have napped within hours of it if he thought there was a chance he might miss it. She frowned, feeling a bit uneasy at something that was so out of character for one of her closest cousins, but she rationalized herself. Maybe a teacher just stuck him with extra work? Maybe he did fall asleep; if Dom can he can.
Trying to stop herself from becoming 'a busy old worrywart', she looking around the entire great hall, quickly become restless without the aide of a new name to get them excited again. Realizing something that made quite a bit of sense to her, Lily leaned over to James. "Congrats. I don't think that the goblet would choose three female champions and only one male." Her brother was the only male entry from Gryffindor, as far as she knew, so if the Goblet followed her logic of keeping the genders even he'd be the sure choice from Gryffindor. Of course, for the Triwizard tournament, Fleur Delcaour had been the only female champion, but that was an unusual case. The tournament had only been meant for three champions in the first place which meant there would only be one champion of a gender; her father had been the one 'intruding' there. But Lily was probably overthinking this. She couldn't be sure of anything until the Gryffindor champion was called which, knowing her luck, would probably come after Hufflepuff.

Ohsheep, Ohsheep, Ohsheep... wait, am I really censoring something with the word sheep? School screws with your brain... That was essentially Lucas Harry Shunpike's train of thought as he skidded through the halls, taking corners at angles that would make his father and the Knight Bus proud. True, he almost smacked his face into one or two of them, but hey, all's fair when you're rushing to a ceremony, right? Maybe it would be a whole lot easier to just go back to his dorm room and sleep, but where's the fun in that? True, he'd probably already missed the champion being called from Gryffindor... but he could still have fun booing the champion from Slytherin, maybe, if he got there in time, right?
Now, some of the more bitter professors at the school might automatically assume that he was going to be late because he was goofing off somewhere in the castle and too scatterbrained to remember that there was the ceremony today. Those professors would be.... well, absolutely true. It wasn't his fault! Peeves had some pretty good tricks under his sleeve, if you could control the poltergeist long enough to figure 'em out. Today, though, Lucas just wanted to give the devilish spirit a hard time, and Peeves in turn had pelted a few water balloons at him. It was the relationship that the two of them had had since Lucas' first year at the school. Peeves had had a few hexes cast at him, Lucas had had a few hundred water balloons dropped on his head. Luke liked to think that there was a strange sort of camaraderie between him and the hundreds of years old poltergeist. Moreso than many other students at the school had with him, anyways. Some might think that after Lucas had shown up to how many tens of classes and feasts dripping wet he might learn not to interact with Peeves, but hey, fun was fun, right?
In case one couldn't guess by all of the water balloon talk, yes, Luke was soaking wet. He'd been in the middle of messing with Peeves when he came across a usually bustling hallway that was alarmingly quiet, and after a moment (or minute) of stopping to search his brain of reasons why, he realized what he was missing at that very second. And sure, there was probably a spell out there that Luke could use to dry off his clothes and shaggy blonde hair, but where was the fun in that?
Anyways, after a few minutes of running through the halls, sliding on his wet feet every so often just for the heck of it, Luke made it into the great hall which he entered with a big grin on his face shortly after (unknown to him) Theresa disappeared into the room in the back. He made his way over to the Gryffindor table where he sat down on the open side of one of the Weasley kids, Dominique. He smirked, wringing out his long wet hair beside the bench. "So, what've I missed, boys and girls?"

kingsley was starting to look at the goblet of fire as it was already starting to be a burden on him, but he would do this for as long as possible. Unable to take his eyes off the champions as they walked by, and then nodded to each of them giving them a special congratulation. Even so, he still had a ceremony to run and if the first task was coming up shortly he would have to prepare later for giving the first hint of the task that would be coming up. Unable to think of any other reason that there was a reason to actually withold the drawing of names, but he wasn't about to keep himself from letting the name be spoken. Only a silencing spell would stop him, but even then he would be able to counter it if he heard the spell being cast. Soon he turned towards Evangline who seemed to be sitting near the Ravenclaw table and nodded towards her in respect as he watched her congratulating the Ravenclaw champion.
Many cheers had been heard throughout the Great Hall and he was glad that everyone was at least enjoying the events going on at Hogwarts. Little did they know about the surprise he had in store for them all. Only after all the four names were mentioned would he blurt it out. Mayhaps that was the reason the Goblet was taking so long in spilling out another name? "Two champions have been named, who's next?" he teased the crowd. A smile on his face almost as unreadable as his eyes that were staring out at everyone in amusement with this little event. Perhaps he was seeing this as a form of torture to make the other students aniticipate when the next name would be called. It seemed like ages as the goblet didn't hesitate or move at all and then suddenly the flames flickered to their pink color again. Spouting up into the air was another name, and as if in slow motion it started to spew up towards the ceiling. Then it dramatically spiralled down towards his hand, and he reached up to grab it on the palm of his hand as he held it out with his eyes closed.
"Well, well, Dunstable Vernon Dersley, congrulations, the Hufflepuff champion has been chosen, please make your way to the back with the rest of the champions, please!!" he called out, soon realizing that it was the same son who's father now believed in magic, and that made Kingsley smile. Things were definitely changing in this world lately, and this one was for the better as the goblet suddenly stayed pink, of course it soon dissipated to a blue.

She never particularly enjoyed ceremonies. There were too many people and there was a certain boundary that was mandatory when it was so formal throughout the time. Too many people and too much quiet for them. Chun wasn't exactly big on the Great Hall in general, but at least she could take some comfort in the constant chatter. Silence was too much like home, the many unspoken topics providing enough of a heavy air instead. She always hated going home; made it too easy to just hate everything. Despite being a devout follower of her dark lady, she didn't want to hate her fellow purebloods.
The slytherin shook the thought out of her mind. This wasn't a night to get distracted. As soon as the ceremony was over, she had quite a bit of work to do. Not that Chun was particularly looking forward to it. She wasn't much for getting her hands dirty if it didn't involve fighting or her hobbies. Toads were just slimy, disgusting creatures. At the very least, it would help give rise to a very powerful ally. If it hadn't been Olivia that asked her to do it, then Chun likely would've refused under the circumstances. Then again, she didn't think she could refuse the fellow slytherin anything. Maybe it was a bit subconsciously, but she passed a small smile to the brunette next to her, not really know whether it could be seen or not. Maybe it was for the best that her lady didn't.
It barely registered that Jacob had mentioned something to her, and the Chinese girl finally glance over at the goblet with a small frown. ”As much as I enjoy a good competition, personal glory isn't exactly my kind of thing. Whoever wants it can have it.” she responded with a shrug. It was hardly a direct competition either. If she wasn't directly bashing somebody's head in, Chun saw little reason to indulge in it. One of the reasons why she enjoyed being a beater. That enough to do as it was anyway. If Olivia had any plans to get involved in it, the slytherin could guess she would've mentioned it by now.

Post by DUNSTABLE VERNON DURSLEY on May 7, 2011 13:38:54 GMT -6
Dunstable hadn’t been sitting down long when he felt as if he got the wind knocked out him. Okay so he was overexaggerating a bit, but either way someone had elbowed him right into the ribs. “Ow...” he moaned before looking up to see who it was that had elbowed him. He noticed a girl that was in his year, Lucy, he believed her name was. But she was a Slytherin so he slightly put it off as if it was some stupid Slytherin joke towards a Muggleborn. Not that he really knew if Lucy would be like that as he didn’t even know the young Slytherin girl that well. But nonetheless he couldn’t help but look over at her again as Kingsley began to announce the champions. She seemed a bit cute, but of course Dunstable figured that he would never really talk to her. The only Slytherins he really ever talked to were Albus, Scorpius and Thersea.
Speaking of Thersea, Dunstable’s attention was snapped back to Professor Shacklebolt as he announced that Thersea was the Champion for Slytherin. Though it wasn’t his house’s champion, Dunstable still cheered for her since he knew her quite well. And then Dunstable was shocked when the next champion was announced. He sat there, his food half emptied, when he heard his name announced. He felt like he was frozen in time, did his name really just get called? It couldn’t be true; obviously there was a better suited Hufflepuff. Then Dunstable realized that he probably looked like an idiot staring all wide-eyed up at Professor Shacklebolt that he figured he better stand up and head to the room. “Well I’ll see you later,” he told his best friend before he walked from the table and headed to the back room, still hearing the Hufflepuffs cheer and applaud from him. He still couldn’t believe it.

roxy was late. oh yes she knew she was - hence why she was running as fast as she darn well damned along the corridor of the first floor, positively sprinting for the staircase as she saw it was about to change course of direction. she couldn't believe, that out of all the days to pick to be late, she seemed to have chosen this one. mornings were never a strong point of roxy's, nor had they ever been. but usually with the help of a really irritating alarm or two she could get up in time for breakfast and classes.
and yet today, when she'd actually set two alarms, apparently it hadn't been enough. with an irritated sigh (irritated at herself that way), rox yanked her fingers through her bed headed hair, untangling it as best she could as she jogged down the steps to the ground floor, ruffling her naturally wavy locks and figuring it would do for now as she brushed them aside over her shoulders.
she lept the vanishing step where she'd once gotten stuck for three hours and onto the ground floor, jogging toward the great hall and slowing only once she reached just outside the doors so that she could catch her breath. well it wasn't like she wanted to draw attention to herself by being all haggard and wheezy-breathed in appearance, so she took a few seconds to straighten her hair again and catch her breath before quietly slipping into the hall.
immediatly she knew she'd missed a lot, as she was just watching a boy roughly her age, maybe a year younger, heading toward a side-door across the room. obviously he was a chosen champion, and so she could only wonder how many other draws she'd missed. hurrying over to the gryffindor table she dropped into an empty seat beside lucas - the only person she could really recognise in this sea of faces right now, smiling a quick hello then glancing to the headmaster in the hope that now she might be able to figure out what she'd missed. she herself hadn't put her name into the goblet - she knew she wasn't really worhty enough nor would she even make a good enough champion even if on the off chance she'd got chosen. but she was keen enough to observe the trials and all and cheer on gryffindor. so just who was the gryffindor champion she'd be sending luck too?

Kingsley was setting up the names beside him as he looked at the chalice in all it's flaming glory. Even as he was starting to look at the champion as he passed, he was proud of Dudley's son as he passed by, but he really didn't know how they got along with Harry anymore. Once more the flames were starting to spout up to reach the ceiling as it turned to a flaming pink instead of blue again. Now the name that was being expelled obviously had to be a Gryffindor's but which one. That was the anticipation that would kill everyone, but the ceremony was far from over as Kingsley's eyes had a twinkle in them that suggested something else was going to happen.
Even as the name was spiraling down towards his hand, he left it outstretched to grasp it within his hands, so that he could easily read it without having to flip it over. Of course, to no avail as the slip landed upside down in his palm anyways, and then the name could be seen as he slowly turned it over. Clearing his throat with an audible 'ahem' and then turning towards the Gryffindor table to tell them the results. "Well, we have our Gryffindor champion, Alaya Silane Tiaun!!" he mused softly.
Little did they know, he had indeed tampered with it to get more results, but as far as the students knew this was the end of the ceremony. Yet, he also gestured people that started to leaving to sit back down, "Oh, please don't leave just yet, I still haven't revealed the surprise," he gestured towards students that were sitting up to leave instantly sitting down in the case they tried to leave before he could reveal the secret.

She knew the other Gryffindors who placed their names in the goblet as well were clinging to the edge of their seat wanting to hear what name the goblet would chose. Part of her felt like there was no way she would be chosen. There were so many other great people who had put their name in the goblet that were from the same house. The other half of her, however, argued that she had just as much skill as the rest of them. She watched as the goblet produced the next name. She waited in anticipation.
First there was a feeling of disbelief then shock washed over the girl. She heard her name and she was overjoyed but more so shocked. She walked swiftly, following the other chosen into the other room where they were to meet. She wasn't sure what to expect next and she didn't know if she wanted to find out. However just before she left she overheard the headmaster speak again. What surprise? She knew that they might find out soon enough. as the hufflepuff champion was chosen and dunstable dursely was chosen, lyra felt a small flash of dissapointment. it wasn't that she'd been particulary expecting to be chosen but she'd had that little bit of hope that her or maybe will or louis would've been chosen. but still, dunstable was a good friend of hers, which was why after the inicial flash of dissapointment, she grinned lightly and clapped loudly, watching dunstable head over to the door, seemingly still shocked. she was glad it was him; he was a good guy, he deserved it.
her gaze flickered back to the headmaster, waiting for the final name to be called for gryffindor. she didn't really know all that many people in gryffindor besides james, ivan and dom, and she hadn't spoken to them in a while so she had no idea if any of them had put their name in for the goblet. if they did, she silently wished them luck, eyes watching the piece of paper spurt into the air and flutter into kinglseys outstretched hand.
as he spoke the name of a gryffindor lyra clapped along with everyone else, watching the girl dissapear. huh. three girl champions and only one male. well she wished dunstable all the luck in the world. with a smile, she glanced at will, then bradley. "should we go?" she murmed quietly, wondering if this meant it was all over now and their que to leave. but as she made to stand kinglsey voice stopped her. "Oh, please don't leave just yet, I still haven't revealed the surprise," lyra blinked, sharing a surprised glance with will and bradley and made to sit back down. what sort of surprise? what was going on?!

Will glanced at Louis and was unable to determine if he was being serious even as he quietly took a seat near him and Lyra. Will was glancing towards Lyra as if she was crazy for making him sit by her, but he was genuinely pleased she had asked him too. It was obvious the two were on more than just good terms with each other, but he hadn't actually gone out on an official date with her yet. There was still time for that at the moment, but he hadn't even confessed completely. Right now, he had bigger issues, like who would be chosen for the Hufflepuff champion until he realized at least four had been chosen now.
Having spaced out a little bit, he soon stood up too until Headmaster Shacklebolt had told them to sit down before leaving. Why on earth would he do something like that? Were there more champions to be chosen, or was this some roost to get the other students to stay in the hall for another announcement. Even so, it wasn't a secret anymore, it seemed to him as he watched the goblet of fire flicker blue a little bit. Once he heard the Gryffindor name Alaya being called out, he just decided to go with the flow clapping with everyone else. It really hadn't been as loud as it had been for Dunstable one of their own.
Unable to contain the joy he might as well join in with the rest of the shouting, "YEAH! Go Dunstable!" was all he managed to shout until he finally sat back down, what was going on?

Kingsley was certain that most of the students would have gotten up to leave if he hadn't said that right at the end of the speech. Right before he could even mention the surprise, a dramatic pause was in order as he sat down. Pretending nothing was going to happen, however, proceeded to speak. "Now that I have your attention again, I have an important announcement to make. We still have a few more champions to choose, so please hold on while the Goblet picks them out," he said, although the Goblet had flashed a bright pink right before he had even started speaking.
The name flew up into the air as always, starting to twirl right down towards his hands as he tried to catch a glimpse of it. Then name was blurry to him as he had to put on some spectacles to actually see the letters of the student that had written it. Putting a hand up in the air as a chuckle seemed to vibrate across the hall as if he was warning them he wouldn't tell them the name if they didn't settle down. Being mature these days had to have been tough on some of the kids during their time at Hogwarts, as he read the name, his lips seemed to move in slow motion.
If this was the case, how many more names would the Goblet dispense now? It was hard to tell, only the future would, so here is the name. "Jaycen Trevor Tate! Please make your way to the back along with the other champions!" was all he said as he then merely resumed waiting for the next name to be drawn.

Resigning himself to anonymity in his final year of Hogwarts (though he was the head boy, positions such as that were sure to be overshadowed by the champions and the tournament this year), Jaycen relaxed at the table beside the fellow Ravenclaws to watch the other champions be called forth and disappear into the back room. He had to admit that none of the chosen champions were who he might have been expecting. Well, in Ravenclaw he hadn't really had much of an opinion as it was his house and he knew that pretty much anyone would represent them well. Ravenclaw was known as the 'brainy' house for a reason. In Slytherin, though, he'd been sure that the champion would have been Albus Potter or Scorpius Malfoy. In Gryffindor he'd definitely been expecting James Potter, or even little Lily. The girl who was chosen... he didn't know her at all. Well, he knew that she was on the Gryffindor Quidditch team (he'd seen them practice once) but whenever he saw her in the halls she was so quiet that she wasn't the type he'd get to know at all. Maybe that was the whole point this year? The cup wanted to go beyond the obvious, to prove that big names can come out of anywhere and don't necessarily have to be inherited through parents? If that was the case it was definitely an admirable thing for a... enchanted piece of metal to do. Dear lord that was an odd sentence.
He saw kids shifting here and there, some even standing up, once the Gryffindor champion was chosen. He thought it was a bit rude. Never before had the headmaster not ended meetings, especially ones as official as this, so to leave before being dismissed was pretty stupid. Even once Kingsley dismissed them he figured that he should be one of the last to leave to make sure that all of the first years and such didn't dawdle. He had nothing better to do. But then there was Kingsley's voice again, calling the student's attention, so, with hundreds of others of eyes, Jaycen looked back to the headmaster wondering, well, what the hell was going on? It wasn't like the teachers to be this secretive about stuff... was it?
More champions? That was... weird. Interesting? Good? ...Yeah, it was good! Jaycen looked up and down the table, at all of the students he knew had entered, and then at the other tables. Maybe some of the more obvious choices would be picked now. He was so busy looking over the other houses that he didn't realize when the next name flew out of the goblet, only turning to look at Kingsley when he finally noticed all of the students around him with their attentions entirely focused on the headmaster. He just managed to get his eyes on the man when the name was called out.
Silence. That was all he was aware of for a good ten seconds. He must have heard that wrong... No? He heard it right? "Holy cow," he muttered, a grin slowly filling his face as he looked at the people around him. "I guess I'll uh... see you later," he told them, clearly excited as he stood up and made his way to the door that all the champions before him had disappeared through.

Kingsley was aware that many eyes were turned on him as many of the students started to sit back down as a cheer erupted across the hall for the fact there were still more champions to be held. Even as he had mentioned it, the surprise was up now and he would be unable to do anything else about the case that he had at the moment. The Goblet itself was already starting to change it's color again, and this time it was more vicious than the last. Once more the name flickered up into the sky and it slowly cascaded down like a leaf on the wind blowing it towards his hand.
It seemed a little odd that the Goblet of Fire would do this, but then Kingsley himself had tampered with it a little earlier on. Even so, he wasn't going to reveal anymore surprises as he glanced down at the name, having to read it twice again since he didn't want to mess up the order. Raising an eyebrow, well, this was indeed a surprise. The name was drawn, and here he didn't want to exactly say it out loud. Even so, he finally just got up the nerve in front of the whole student audience to do so, but he knew this particular student would be excited as the rest had been.
Unable to contain the name within his hands any longer he set it in the pile with the others, and then looked around as anticipation seemed to flood every vein of all the other houses in the room, "Yori Oshiro! Please make your way back into the room with the other champions please!" he bellowed out towards the school, and it left a lasting impression too since he was already on the verge of getting down to the last two. Hearing a cheer coming up from all around, he nodded in acceptance at this as the Goblet was already flashing pink again, yet it soon settled odwn not releasing a name just to tease the students it would seem.

Nate sat there and watched a lot of names get called. And then his best friend's name got called. Dunstable would be a good champion. "Way to go mate. You'll do go." He said as his friend walked away. Well, now it was about time for them to leave, right? He wasn't sure what else they could to. The champions got to leave, so were they suppose to just hang out until they were done? Well, Nate could do that, since it was his best friend. But he didn't really want to wait there for who knows how long.
But as they were sitting there, something strange happened. The goblet chose again. So now two students from ever house could get picked? So, he still had a shot at making it into the championship? But he didn't know if he could actually do that. He wasn't sure how Dunstable would take it either. It would be like he was attempting to take his friend's thunder away from him. And as he sat and worried about that, the goblet called out a new name.
Luckily it wasn't his name. It was a Hufflepuff name, but it wasn't his Hufflepuff name. He was able to let out a sigh and lean back. So now he could get comfortable. Not going up against his best friend in a championship would be less stressful then anything he could imagine. So he was just going to have to be pleased with being a prefect. Who was he kidding? He was happy with that and it ate up his time. He didn't have time to be a champion.
"Way to go." He was proud of the champions, he really was. But it gave him time off. If Nathaniel Greyback could only like one thing, it would be time off.

Names were pouring out of the Goblet and he was in disbelief, or was it shock? Either way, he was thinking to himself this could have been worse, but there was still a chance for him. What was going on with the Goblet of Fire, was it actually tampered with to get more results? Either way, he wasn't complaining, that meant there was still a chance for him at the moment. As far as he knew, the only male to have entered was him, but he doubted it would do it based off that principle..it was easier to guess than others. The first champion had been his best friend, Alaya, and then he heard Theresa's name being called before that.
Strangely enough, he really wasn't expecting Dunstable to be called up and be one of the champions despite his lack of understanding his cousin. Then again, he didn't end up in Slytherin like Albus, who would probably be the Slytherin champion in the end as he hadn't seen anyone else enter their name from there. Aside from the one group of Slytherins earlier, but that had only been two. So it would have been a duo, whatever, he was still just sitting on the edge of his seat. As the sixth name was called, he was staring in shock, even that Hufflepuff girl had been chosen? The hell was wrong with this chalice, couldn't it choose some cool people, aside from Alaya and Dunstable, for a change.
Even so, he wasn't going to regret coming to this ceremony grinding his teeth, but he wished Alaya good luck as she had headed off towards the champion's room. Only time would tell who the last two would be, and he was getting so tired of waiting. "UGH! I wish the goblet would spew out names faster, we've been here for almost an hour or two, I hate sitting around!" he complained, and then leaned over to Lily, "Hey Lily, sorry about not getting chosen, I'm sure you will next name, if we're lucky, I'd rather see you up there, than me," he said quietly so no one else would hear.
Not that he was really concerned about it since he knew Alaya would do well in his place, but he realized that the houses that were left to be called were Gryffindor and Slytherin. James was still curious about why Professor Longbottom had left, and Hugo hadn't shown up at all...that worried him a lot as Hugo was always at events like this no matter what.
