This was the game that many had been waiting for, and Albus was one of the many. This would be the last match that he would ever get to play against his brother James, as it was James’s last year, and Albus had planned to prove that he was better than James when it came to being a Seeker.
He didn’t talk much to his teammates while they were in the locker room getting ready for the game. There really was no need to pep them up, they all felt the same way about Gryffindor, especially those who knew that James was blaming the Quidditch team for the recent events, that being the fact that Hugo was attacked and now he cannot participate in the current game. Albus felt bad for Hugo, and really he wanted to see Hugo out on the field as well, but it seems that it would be their cousin, Roxanne Weasley, taking his place. They also had a temporary player that day as well. Theresa was playing as their keeper, something Albus had convinced her to do as they hadn’t been able to get a full time keeper.
Soon it was time for them to head out onto the pitch, one by one they left the locker room with Albus leading them. Their heads held high, showing that they were indeed better than Gryffindor. Sure, many of them had the best brooms out there, and often people believed it was because of their brooms that they were good, but they also had a lot of talent on the field as well, and they were definitely going to prove that today.
With his Skyrocket 200 over his shoulder, Albus headed out to the center of the pitch where Professor Longbottom was waiting. He nodded when Professor Longbottom said he wanted a good clean match, and wondered if perhaps he forgot that it was the Slytherin team out there, and they tended to get their hands dirty. Albus held out his hand to shake his cousin Rose’s, they were on good terms, but today was different as they were enemies on the Quidditch field.
Then quickly he mounted his broom and kicked off high up into the air as the whistle went off. He planned on circling the field, searching for the snitch that he was going to make sure he caught before James. There was no doubt in that. “You’re going down today,” Albus told James as he flew right by him just as Roxanne had caught the Quaffle, but not long after had Scorpius managed to take it in his hands. Albus smiled, he knew that Scorp was always good at intercepting passes, it seemed to be one of the things he did best. And then he had passed it to Zmyeyette, and he knew that she would go for the goal. He looked for a moment, hopes that his team member would score, though with his other eye he was still on the lookout for that shiny golden snitch.

1. Lily attempts to defend her goals from Zmyeyette.
average of dexterity&alertness + Dice Roll = 5.5 + 4 = 9.5 Zmeyette's strength + Dice Roll = 4 + 6 = 10 [/ul] Results: Zmeyette scores ten points for Slytherin. Lily now has possession of the Quaffle. 2a. Natalia attempts to hit a bludger at Rose. Notes:- No one can intercept when Lily passes the Quaffle off to another Gryffindor Chaser, once she passes it off that Chaser automatically has possesion of the Quaffle.
- No one can attempt to steal until after the chaser has possession of the quaffle. No one can attempt to intercept until after that chaser attempts to pass.
- Beaters can hit a bludger at anyone, except for Natalia, she has to wait until after the next dice roll.

This was going to be an exciting game. The Gryffindor vs. Slytherin game was always a big one. It was great that it was the first. However, it could really put a damper on the season for whichever team lost that day. Alaya knew that the important thing right now was to just be in the game and not worry about unknown outcomes.
The first match of the season and already Slytherin was up by ten points. The thrill of the game was still intense and Alaya knew she had to stay focused if she was to do any damage with the bludgers. She kept an eye out trying to figure out where she would be of the most use. She did love flying and just the fell of being in the air on her broom. She took a deep breath as she watched the game unfold before her. She did not move around much knowing that for her, finding a bludger was all about precision. If she wanted to be any help to the team she needed to be at her best.
She watched as Rose was hit by a bludger. She cursed slightly under her breath that she was too far away from where Rose was to be of any help. Thankfully Natalia's hit was not an overly strong one. That was a slight relief but now Alaya had a target, or two. She knew that trying to get the beaters out was tricky but would help so much if done. However, their chaser Zmeyette was very good and should not be underestimated. Alaya surveyed the playing field to see her chance.
It wasn't too long before she noticed on of the bludgers. She decided that she would determine her target the close she got to the bludger itself. She started off knowing that now was a good time to let instinct take over. She knew that it was good to be calculating but now it was all about speed. She had strength by lacked some what in speed. • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • F O R . I . W I L L . F I G H T . "DAMNIT!" the fifth year's cry of outrage was lost in the cheers of the Slytherins as her fingers grazed the quaffle a moment too late to stop its flight through the hoop. She gritted her teeth together, swooping down to grab the Quaffle before it hit the ground, and rose up again to the height of the hoops with her eyes narrowed and her lips pressed tight together. Well, wasn't that just a great start to the first Quidditch game of the year. And that was the goal that everyone would remember, too, especially if the Slytherins won. They'd say that that goal shook the Gryffindor's confidence, and they'd all congratulate the idiot who scored it.
Nevermind. That's the last goal that will ever go in this game, Lily promised herself, looking around for a chaser for her to toss the ball out to. She spotted Roxanne the closest, and so, after a moment of eye contact to make sure that the other chaser was aware that the quaffle was headed her way and wouldn't be caught off guard, she tossed it with her arm as hard as she could to reach her cousin and resettled next to the center goal post again, trying to ignore the cheers and jeers still continuing from the Slytherin side of things.
Lily Potter threw the quaffle to Roxanne Weasleyt.

Once again Rose had missed intercepting the quaffle and it had gone to the Greyback girl. Rose held back a curse and promised herself that next time she was going to get the quaffle. Rose really wanted to win the match and she knew that she at least was determined to play her best. And she didn't feel that she was doing the best she could do. She saw the slytherin chaser going towards the gryffindor goals and she took off on her broom after her. She wasn't going to go easy on them. She knew that Gryffindor had a pretty good keeper as well so she knew lily wasn't just going to let the quaffle in.
Rose hadn't been paying attention to the bludger or the beaters. She didn't know about the bludger until she felt it hit her arm. Cursing she grabbe her arm and looked around for the beater that had done it. Promising that Natalia would get it another time she checked her arm to see that it hadn't done much damage, it was just sore. It was during that time that Slytherin had scored and had ten more points than Gryffindor had. "You'll stop them next time Lily! Now all Rose could do was wait.
Rose Weasley is waiting.

So much had happened since the start of the game. Roxanne had lost Gryffindor the quaffle right from the beginning of the game when she tried passing in to Rose without paying attention to where any of the Slytherin chasers were. Scorpius had intercepted the pass which caused Roxanne to curse under her breath for not trying hard enough. Slytherin now had possession of the quaffle. Scorpius passed to the Greyback girl who was zooming toward the goal posts. Roxanne paused in air as Zmeyette passed her. Roxanne prayed she wouldn't make it in, the first shot usually determined the spirit of the game. As Zmeyette was going for it a Bludger whipped by Roxanne and slammed into Rose. Roxanne wanted to fly over there and make sure her cousin was alright but from the looks of it she seemed fine enough.
Suddenly cheers rose up from a crowd of green and silver and Roxanne knew exactly what had happened. Slytherin had scored ten points and now were ahead of Gryffindor. Roxanne felt horrible, if she hadn't lost the quaffle in the first place it would be them scoring instead of those stupid dim-witted Slytherins. Roxanne's face scrunched up in anger. It pulsed through her with a new determination. She was going to help Gryffindor score and tie up with Slytherin before someone caught the snitch. It was a points game and though the winning team was usually the one who caught the snitch it wasn't always certain. Roxanne wanted to cover their butts every way she could.
Lily now had the quaffle and made eye contact with her. Lily was going to pass it off to her and Roxanne was right there for it to happen. Roxanne grabbed the quaffle and tucked it under her arm. She was off again trying to prove that she was a good subsitution for Hugo, she wanted to make her cousin proud. Roxanne was weaving her way down the pitch when she spotted Rose waiting. Roxanne smiled at her and tossed the quaffle in Rose's direction praying that this wouldn't be a repeat of last time.

He watched the quaffle fly in the air and land in Zmeyette's hands just as a red blur approached. Rose Weasley thought she could get the quaffle, ham, he thought noticing the oncoming bludger that was sent her way. He watched as the bludger hit Rose before turning his attention quickly to Zmeyette and the goals, the only thing standing in her way was the youngest Potter. But that didn’t seem to stop Greyback as she threw the quaffle and scored. 10 nil to Slytherin, it would boost their confidence even more, Scorpius smirked, elated that they were ahead of Gryffindor.
The quaffle was passed to Roxanne and his smirk widened. He had taken the quaffle from her once before. He glanced at Albus, knowing he was probably paying more attention in finding the snitch and avoiding bludgers than the actual game.
Scorp urged his broom forward and towards Roxanne, if there were any bludgers hit his way, he hoped the beaters would at least divert the bludgers away. The cheers in the stands were only starting to die down now, but hopefully they'd be roaring once more in a few minutes, all he had to do was intercept the quaffle and get it to someone closer to the goals in order to score again. He flew faster, stretching his hand out towards the quaffle.

Rose watched as Lily threw the quaffle and Roxanne was there to catch it. She knew that Lily was going to go back to guarding the posts and it was up to her and Roxanne to score for Gryffindor. Rose wondered where her beaters and other chaser were but she couldn't worry about that right now. She knew that James was looking for the snitch and it wouldn't be too long before one of the seekers spotted it, although she hoped more for James than Albus. Roxanne was there with the quaffle and Rose happened to see Scorpius going towards her.
She didn't think so. Urging her broom to go faster she got closer to the two. "I don't think so Scorpius." He had already intercepted the quaffle between her and Roxanne before but she wasn't going to let that stop her from trying. Reaching her hand out she reached for the quaffle that had been passed. Rose thought about kicking Scorpius but she couldn't do it. She wasn't about to fight that dirty. Still she could always hope for a bludger to come and knock him off his broom.

Albus cheered with the rest of the Slytherins as Zmeyette scored the first goal of the game. He knew that his team was better than Gryffindor, after all, he had made sure to pick the best people from Gryffindor, he often wondered if on the Gryffindor team if they mainly stuck to family. It seemed that most of them were from his family after all. But of course he always picked by skill, even if his team happened to pretty much have the best brooms.
And then not too long after Slytherin had scored, he saw it. The golden sparkled from that tiny snitch right by the Gryffindor Goal posts. He glanced for a moment to see if James had seen it, he hadn’t. Albus smiled as he tilted his broom and headed straight for the golden snitch. He was determined to catch it before James, he had to beat James and prove that even he was better at things than James.
However, just as soon as he spotted it, he had lost sight of it. He pulled up from his dive once he realized that the snitch wasn’t by the goal posts anymore and resumed flying around the field scouting for it one more time. He didn’t watch a whole lot of what his team was doing, he more listened to what the fans were cheering as he needed to keep his eye out of the snitch.

Time seemed to pass slowly for Rose as she watched the quaffle come towards her. Scorpius had tried to intercept the quaffle once more but this time he missed and Rose managed to get a hand on it. Grinning in triumph she tucked the quaffle under her arm and moved her broom along. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Albus dive for something and thought that the game was about to be over because he had seen the snitch. Allowing herself the time to glance over her shoulder to see he had pulled out of dive without the snitch. That gave her and the rest of the gryffindor team to pull a win out of this game. She only needed to get Gryffindor points already and hopefully James would find the snitch soon.
Not allowing herself to be distracted any longer she turned her head back towards the Slytherin goals on the other side of the pitch. Now that she had the quaffle in her possession she was bound to be a target again for the bludgers. Trying to be extra cautious she sped towards the goal posts she needed, avoiding the other players as best she could. Finally when she felt she was close enough she threw the quaffle with all her strength towards the right goal post.
Rose Weasley is attempting to score.

James was seriously considering just giving up looking for the snitch altogether, however, when his brother came over, James yelled back at him. "DON'T LOSE FOCUS, ALBUS, Slytherin won't win! Just give up, after all, that's why you were placed there, to let Gryffindor always take the win," he snickered as he said it. Writing that one down in his mental memory log only to lose it like five minutes later due to other retorts that would sound so much better. Even though his dislike for Albus had highly increased to beyond the point of escalating into a war between them, but he kept his cool. During this match he was more concerned about the snitch than anything.
Shrugging his shoulders at his brother's comment, but he was flying towards where Albus was noticing he had caught sight of the snitch. It was only right to follow in case he lost sight of it, but he wasn't about to let him get a hold on it. After all, why would he fly in a bee line straight for it as he was right on his tail already. Of course, he attempted at pushing Albus a little to the side to taunt him. Yet his broom didn't come in contact, however, he wasn't reaching for the snitch as he kept being shoved aside until he would have to wait to get it in it's grasp. "You know Gryffindor is going to win, just give up, like always" he taunted again.
Notes: James is following Albus; and taunting him

Scorpius kept his eye on Rose and that was his downfall. Cursing at himself for not paying attention, he honestly felt like playing dirty now. Perhaps a hard elbow in her ribs would have stopped her from getting the quaffle. Maybe he could take a beater's bat and use it on her. No that was going a bit too far, the elbowing sounded good though, and she was right there. Tempting, oh so tempting. A sadistic smirk appeared on his face, if only he wouldn’t get caught by the referee, they didn’t need one less chaser. But as he pondered on the thought, she had flown away from him with the quaffle. Just because she had gotten it didn’t mean she was going to keep it.
Looking around, he wondered what had happened to the Slytherin beaters, had the fallen asleep. Well if they weren’t going to do their job, it meant he'd have to work harder. Leaning forward, he flew towards his own team's posts. Theresa was their alternative keeper. He didn’t know just how good she was. Cursing silently as he watched Rose throw the quaffle, he sped up, hoping to at least unsettle her as he flew past to intercept the quaffle, wanting to aid Theia.

theresa kelsey was bored. what she couldn't help it!? sitting up here on her broom infront of the goalposts, watching as her team scored. sure, she was a happy for them that they'd gotten ten points, but she had nothing to do up here than just sit and watch and wait. theia had been one for waiting, and she sighed and she watched the quaffle thrown back and forth from player to player. she noted that scorpius seemed to be everywhere right now - intercepting every gryffindor pass he could. it was a shame when he missed one. oh right, that meant they'd be coming up this way. finally something to do. shifting her weight slightly and feeling the broom thrum beneath her fingertips as she guided it left and right slightly in ready anticipation as a gryffindor headed her way. she vaugely noted albus speeding up a little way away and guessed he'd seen the snitch. but she quickly flickered her attention back to the incoming opposition with a concentrating frown. as the girl - rose she vaugely noted - threw it hard toward one of theia's goalposts she narrowed her eyes. i don't think so weasley she thought and flew toward the quaffle, reaching out her hands in attempt to grab it whilst fearlessly shifting her body to try and get in the way too incase she didn't catch it, and she waited to feel the touch of the ball within her hands... She kept watch of the bludger, not surprised to see Natalia having scored a hit already on someone. Rose, she thought. It would do them good to take out the already hurting first. Just seeing the gryffindor score was enough reason to target her first. It was with good reason to perceive her as a threat. The adrenaline was a nice change of pace; she missed that sort of feeling outside of the quidditch season. It was with idle thought that she humored the idea of joining the flying club or something-- or just being outdoors in general that wasn't around the courtyard. No, Chun didn't think she could do it.
Shaking the thought of her mind, Chun reared the paddle back as she neared the bludger, keeping her eyes on Rose as she slammed the wooden stick against the ball, sending it hurtling towards its destination. From there, the Chinese girl didn't stray, intending to move onto her next target as soon as possible.

So it turned out that Lucas had been missing out on quite a bit on his few years as a back up beater for the Quidditch teams. He'd been content to sit on the sidelines and help out when he was needed, but now that he was finally a starter on the team for his final year of schooling at Hogwarts, he realized exactly how much it, well, sucked to not be on the field. There was really nothing that rivaled whizzing through the air on his Skyrocket 100, the wind rushing through his hair and his Beater's bat hanging in his hand. This was why girls had such long hair, wasn't it? Just to feel the wind in it? Luke had to admit, while he'd look horrid with the female standard of long hair, it did make him feel rather heroic when the wind rushed through his longer-than-the-average-male hair.
From the moment he'd hit the game he'd been circling, watching the action below. He cursed himself when that first goal went in, whizzing past the youngest Potter. Even from his distance he could see the disappointment and frustration on her face, but she had to know that it hadn't been her fault. He was just as upset with himself as she must have been with herself. Had he been thinking, he could have made a move that knocked Slytherin off of their game in time for her to block the quaffle. Oh well, the same mistake would not be allowed to happen a second time.
He turned back to idleness as the quaffle was sped by Gryffindor chasers up the pitch, towards the vulnerable Slytherin goal posts and their chaser, the Slytherin champion. Lucas sped in closer to the action, but remained high enough in the air that he didn't interfere with the proceedings. "C'mon," he prayed silently under his breath, watching the quaffle leave the hands of Rose Weasley and sailed cleanly through the right goal post. "Yes!" the seventh year cheered, listening to the roar rise from the Gryffindor side of the stands. The noise of exhilerated fans alone was enough reason to play Quidditch, even if ones team didn't always win.
Out of the corner of his eye Lucas saw a flash of green, and turned to follow the person (a beater, he saw, by the paddle in their hand) as they whizzed towards a bludger. Instantly the boy was on alert, following the Slytherin girl's gaze to her intended target, Rose. "Not on my watch," he growled, leaning over his broom to give himself more speed as he rushed towards his teammate. Gryffindor was already down a chaser, thanks to poor Hugo's trip to the hospital wing of suspicious circumstances. They didn't need another injury on their main team. "Heads up!" he called out. Gripping his bat more tightly as his eyes zoomed in on the incoming hazard he prepared to whack it as far away from anyone whose safety he cared about as possible.
(Notes; Lucas is attempting to defend Rose from the bludger.)

The game was starting to heat up and Alaya needed to do her best to try and somewhat injure one of the slytherins to give the gryffindors the upper hand. She noticed her chance. Chun had just hit a buldger at Rose. Thankfuly Lucas was on the task of trying to block it. Alaya only hoped fate was on their side that day.
In one swift motion Alaya swung the bat, hitting the bludger dead on. She aimed it for the slytherin beater, making sure that she was at the girl's blind side. She couldn't afford any slip ups. Alaya did notice that she was at an odd angle for hitting the bludger towards the slytherin. She only hoped her aim was good this day. She moved out of the way and slightly higher in the sky to get a better view of the two bludgers. She needed to see what would unfold with both and where her best next shot would be.
Just off at the corrner of her eye she noticed Albus moving and James following close behind. The snitch was seen. She knew that it was only a matter of time before someone caught it. She focused her attentiuon back to the bludgers and to who ever Theresa threw the quaffle to. She kept her breathing even the moment she felt her heart rate rise. She knew staying calm in these situations was the best thing to do at the moment.

as the quaffle just sailed past her outstretched fingers, theia frowned and cursed. "damn it!" she muttered, glancing and seeing the quaffle fall through one of her goalposts. gritting her teeth in frustration, theia urged her broom after it, snagging it from the air just as it fell through the hoop. well that was hardly going to count for her skills as an alternate keeper. she'd stupidly misjudged the distance and the power of that girls throw. frowning, theia quickly retrieved the quaffle and flew back up to her position infront of the goalpost. 10 all. yeah well that was the only goal they were going to score. shifting the quaffle from the crook of her arm to both her hands as she paused the broom with a small movement, theia took a glance at her fellow teammates. right then, free throw to who she wanted? spotting scorpius close-by after his attempt at intercepting, theia glanced at him, trying to catch his eye rather than calling out his name and giving it away - not that anyone could intercept, but that way once he had the quaffle, he wouldn't need to worry straight away about a bunch of dumb gryffies on his tail. theia flickered her gaze once at the other teammates and then went to throw the quaffle for scorpius, aiming it at him hard in order to get the ball across the distance fast and straight toward him. ( theresa kelsey is passing the quaffle to scorpius ! )
