GRYFFINDOR VS. SLYTHERIN MATCH 5/14/11-6/11/11 [/I][/center]
Some Important Rules to Remember: • After the first chaser gets the quaffle no one is allowed to attempt to steal the quaffle from him/her or hit a bludger at him/her until after that player has made their first post. • A single pass must successfully be made before that team can attempt a shot on a goal. • Should a chaser lose the quaffle (via steal, bludger hit, or interception), he/she cannot try to get the quaffle back until after the next dice roll has been made. • Beaters who are making an offensive play must make two separate posts (one flying towards the bludger and then, after one post by any other player, one hitting the bludger) • Within the first week, seekers must post at least once saying that their character is on the pitch and looking for the snitch, but they may not post that they've seen the snitch until the snitch posts it's appearance. • At the very end of your post, make an ooc message summarizing what actions your character has taken in the post. • On June 11th the final snitch dice roll will be made and the game will be over.

Aubrey was up in the same stand as the professors since she was commenteering the game. She looked out to the other stands as they begun to fill up with the students of Hogwarts. It was the first match of the year and many were excited as they always were, but it always seemed that the Gryffindor vs. Slytheirn match was the one everyone was always most excited for. With the Goblet of Fire ceremony out of the way and the champions chosen this was the first thing they all had to look forward to. Two teams that were rival against each other since day one at Hogwarts going up against each other. She looked over at Nate Greyback who was commenting on the matches with her and smiled at him, it was always fun to do the commenting on the matches with him after all. Then she looked back out into the crowd, pulled the magical microphone towards her and got ready to announce. “It looks like pretty much everyone has made it today and I’m sure many of you are excited to see who will catch the snitch this year when it comes to the two Potter boys. But without further ado, let’s get our quidditch players out here on the field,” she announced to everyone and watched as everyone in the pitch applauded.
“For Gryffindor we have their team captain, Rose Weasley and her fellow chasers Dominque Weasley and Roxanne Weasley who’s taking Hugo Weasley’s place in this match due to his recent injury. For the beaters we have Alaya Tiaun and Patricia Krum. Their Keeper is Lily Potter followed by her brother as well as the Seeker, James Potter!” she called out as she watched the Gryffindors as well as the other students that were cheering for Gryffindor cheer on the team. She would have done so herself, but she was a commenter and she knew she would be told to continue to comment.
“And the for the Slytherin team we have their team captain and seeker, Albus Potter. Followed along with the three chasers, Scorpius Malfoy, Henrietta Quicke and Zmeytte Greback. There two beaters are Chun Au-Yong and Natalia Hamilton and finally their substitute keeper for this match is Thersea Kelsey!” she called out and watched as the Slytherins abrupted into cheers. Silently she wished Scorpius luck; after all, he was her boyfriend. “And now here comes our ref for the match, Professor Longbottom! We’ll leave it to him to start off the match!” she called out and it seemed that all eyes were now on Professor Longbottom.

In light of recent events Neville felt sorry that Hugo couldn’t play in the Quidditch Match. He looked up at Aubrey as she announced the two teams members as Neville stood in the middle of the pitch. He watched the students head to the center of the pitch and new that these two teams pretty much disliked each other. “Alright I want the captains to shake hands, and remember to play nice,” he looked at each of the students of the two teams. He knew how these two houses got when they were up against each other. He had a feeling it wouldn’t be a friendly game especially with what had happened on the night of the Goblet of Fire.
He watched as Albus and Rose shook hands before he mounted his broom. There was a box beside him that was shaking quite a bit since the bludgers wanted to be released so they could go around and start knocking students off of their brooms. Neville then took off on his broomstick, pointing his wand at the box to open it as he blew his whistle signaling the start of the game. The box opened up with the bludgers and quaffle flying up into the air and the snitch disappearing almost instantly. Neville watched to see who the first chaser would be to grab the quaffle.

Post by JAMES SIRIUS POTTER on May 14, 2011 15:56:59 GMT -6
James was already making his way out to the quidditch pitch, slightly in a foul mood since he was playing against Slytherin, the nerve they had. He still figured that someone in their house had perhaps done the attack on poor Hugo, but he wasn't going to resent anyone just yet. It was only Albus that was the target of his frustration, but he decided to keep his mind focused on the game not wanting it to be clouded by any doubts. Of course, if he could catch the snitch before his brother, it would make James all the more happier. Once more, he figured this would be the true test of their abilities compared to one another. Donning the Quidditch robes for the Gryffindor team, he knew that Rose Weasley would be out here as well, considering she was obviously the captain. James had considered the position but didn't want all that responsibility weighing down his shoulders. Donning his broom, it was one of the newer series, but he was never good with names for them. All he knew was that it was the second-best there was, and he had to actually probably go look up the model again in case a new broom came out. There was only one place to do that at and he'd have to visit there after the holidays had come around. Halloween was approaching fast as the first month had already seemed to go by like a leaf blowing in the wind. Mounting the broom, he was now up in the air and putting on his gloves as his 6'1" figure let his hair whip about his face a little. The brown locks getting in his eyes as he brushed them out of the way, and held his finger up in the air to test the wind's velocity. Surely, that wouldn't effect the snitch's path at all as he was up in the air ready to start the match. Veering down as soon as Slytherin had possession of the quaffle, he was more intent on finding the snitch itself. Blue eyes stared down at the ground around him, and then zoned in on the outskirts of the quidditch pitch itself. The snitch could be anywhere, and he wasn't about to let Albus get the upper hand. Notes; James Sirius Potter is looking for the snitch

It was the first of the month and the most anticipated quidditch match was finally upon the student body. Throughout the pass week the excitement had been building and finally it was at it's bursting point. Roxanne woke up to the talk about whether Gryffindor would beat Slytherin today. Roxanne smiled as she remembered she would take part in this match. Sadly she would be taking the place of her cousin, Hugo Weasley, who had been injured in an unknown attack. At first Roxanne wasn't sure how to feel when she was approached by Lily Potter, another cousin of hers, to take his place. But now that the day was here Roxanne was ecstatic to be allowed to play in the first match of the season and against Slytherin at that. Roxanne figured that spot on the team would of been hers if not for the fact that she was sick on the day of the try outs.
Roxanne put on her quidditch robes and made her way down to the great hall with her broom in hand. She needed to pile up on some food before going down to the quidditch pitch. Roxanne could never play a match on an empty stomach she just wouldn't be able to focus on the game. Everyone in the great hall was decorated in the colors of the teams they supported. There was a lot of red and gold for old traditional alliances haven't died but there had been a breech in some areas. Roxanne was sure she saw several students in Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff dressed in green and silver.
After finishing her breakfast Roxanne walked out to the quidditch pitch getting well wishes from a lot of her friends. She just smiled back and made a few jokes about how this match was going to be a piece of cake.
When she arrived the only person she saw was her cousin James Potter who looked to be in a horrid mood. "Come on, James. Buck up, we have this match in our hands." She said hoping to cheer him up. With a final smile at the rest of her team mates, once they arrived, she mounted her broom and pushed into the air. With her hair tied up and out of her face Roxanne had nothing to block her vision which seemed to help because once the game started Roxanne spotted the quaffle and went for it. It seemed that the Slytherin player Zmeyette Greyback had been just as quick but her height seemed to play a problem when reaching for the quaffle for Roxanne's face twisted into a brilliant smile as she curled the quaffle under her arm and began soaring down the pitch. She was looking for someone to pass to, she looked left and right for either of her fellow chasers. No one was in view just yet but she was sure her team mates would have her back.
After another moment of searching Rose Weasley suddenly came into view. Its now or never Roxanne thought to herself just before she threw the quaffle in Rose's direction.
OCC:Roxanne has the quaffle and is attempting to toss it to Rose Weasley.

striding out onto the quidditch pitch in her usual confident strut, theia sighed. she had never expected to be put in this position - the whole, 'you're playing keeper' thing. she didn't like quidditch; never had. she didn't like the sport really; it wasn't the height...it was more the broom aspect she supposed, not that she'd ever admit it. plus, she wasn't much of a team player - never honestly had been. so why, do you ask, had she stepped up to play? of three reasons in fact. firstly, her parents ... this was a new condition of theirs - that she must participate in quidditch for the sake of family pride, and should she fail well.. who knew? perhaps they'd ignore her even more? not what she wanted. the second reason was kinda the half dare from her friends, and the third was linked to that. after being chosen by the goblet of fire as the female slytherin champion she was sure she needed to prove to herself and others that she was worthy of the title; that she was good at everything, including flying. that jibe from scorp about him being sure they'd be a flying task had gotten to her. surprisingly, she wasn't that bad at flying. she'd not touched a broom for years after her first experiance, but one summer a year ago her father had, for the countless time, gotten impatient with her and forced her to fly, teaching her for hours. on the plus side, she'd spent more time with him than ever before..but she hadn't managed to achieve his pride or affection at all, the only praise having been a 'good' at the end of the summer for her efforts. but this would be one of the first times she'd flown at hogwarts again. she'd signed up thinking she wouldn't need to play, therefore doing what her parents asked whilst still staying firmly on ground. and now she'd found out that there was no other keeper to take her place. so here she was, forced into the game. she was never one to back out though, and she could get mighty stubborn and fierce so she was going to play this damn game and just get it over with already. she didn't care about the game only that she had that impulse not to loose. she didn't think her teammates like her dislike of quidditch, but theia had shown them her detirmination, fierce spirit and general grudging willness to coorporate. besides that, she was charismatic, and she knew that even though most of them were wondering if she'd be the weaklink, she'd won them over. mostly, she'd only bothered to make things easier for her best friend, albus -team captain. shouldering her brand new, top of the range broom (only the best for her apparantly), she hardly bothered to listen to the speaches and whatnot, pausing to examine her nails and hope she didn't break one...they were only recently painted after all. the whistle went and theia swung her leg neatly over her broom and pushed off, taking a firm grip of the wood and heading without a backward glance toward her goalposts. she took a few seconds to try and get used to the broom, settling a little despite that usual disliking uneasiness, before she pulled up and swung around infront of her goalposts to survey the pitch. she let that steely fierce detirmination and concentration take over - the one that helped her win duels - and narrowed her eyes, waiting and just daring someone to try and score a damn goal. because heck, theia was in the mood to take someone down....and it was going to be gryffindor. The air was crisp and smelled of victory to Zmeyette who had just walked onto the quidditch pitch decked out in her quidditch uniform which was decorated with her favorite colors of green and silver. She was the second person on the pitch. Theia, their substitute keeper, had beaten her there. Although the girl didn't even want to be there she seemed to arrive before everyone else, what was she trying to prove? Everyone already knew she wanted nothing to do with this match. It would be her fault that the Slytherin team lost and if that happened...well Zmeyette didn't to anger herself further on what ifs. Plus the girl had already been picked as the female slytherin champion, obviously the girl had some self confidence issues if she needed to be involved in everything and take the spot light.
Zmeyette began looking around trying to see if the other members of the Slytherin team were coming but she couldn't see a single person dressed just like her. The captain should of been the first one out here but what more could Zmeyette ask of a blood traitor like a Potter. Zmeyette should of been captain but apparently she had been flagged one too many times from a match to even be considered captain. Thankfully everyone had the right of mind not to try out for her spot on the team or else she probably would of been the first one cut. Although Zmeyette hated a lot of her teammates they made a good team and won quite a lot during her time here at Hogwarts.
She heard the faint words of Aubrey getting the audience a bit riled up for the game and soon the dorkiest professor they had came out to start the game. Zmeyette mounted her broom and hovered in the air waiting for Professor Longbottom to start the match. The quaffle, snitch, and bludgers were released in a frenzy but Zmeyette was able to keep her eyes fixed on the ball she needed. Immediately she went soaring for the maroon covered ball, it was just in her reach as she stretched her arm at full length only her arm wasn't long enough and the quaffle was snatched out from clear view as Roxanne Weasley tucked it under her arm and took off.
Zmeyette's face contorted in anger as she let out a slew of insults directed toward the low life of that Weasley girl. Instead of following the girl to steal the quaffle she decided to watch the game for a moment, waiting for the right opportunity to seize the quaffle.
OCC: Zmeyette failed at getting the quaffle and is biding her time until she can steal it back

This was the match he was most waiting for, to be able to rub it into James' face when they won, oh how good that would be. He was practically floating as he walked to the change rooms, he quickly changed, his movements swift yet precise as he reached over and grabbed his broom, a confident smirk appearing on his face. He knew Al was looking forward to this match too, how could he not when it was a chance to beat his own brother, the favoured child. Walking past Al, he slapped him on the back in the usual silent good luck before heading out, knowing the others would soon join.
He saw Zmeyette up ahead and scowled, how in Merlin's name did she manage to get on the team, he wondered, and he had to work with her, something he wasn’t liking. Looking past her she noticed Theia in the quidditch robes. Well it certainly had been a surprise when she was announced as their reserve keeper and now it was a surprise to see she was actually going through with it.
The whistle blew and he quickly mounted before pushing off from the ground. His start wasn’t as quick as he had liked it to be and he already saw others going for the quaffle. Even though he didn’t like Zmeyette much, he hoped she'd end up with the quaffle and it seemed like she was going to get it until they stole it from right under her nose, more precisely Roxanne Weasley had stolen it. He hadn’t spoken to her much, not even during the school holidays when he went home with Al and met up with the rest of his family. So why wasn’t the Slytherin girl chasing Roxanne, why on earth was she hanging back. Well then, he thought, if Zmeyette wasn’t going to chase Roxanne, he was. Leaning forward, he followed the red robed girl, waiting for her to throw it. Where was the other Gryffindor chasers, he wondered, quickly glancing around. Ah there was Rose, was she going to throw it to her? A moment later his question was answered as he watched the quaffle leave Roxanne's hands. Scorpius ignored Roxanne then, his eyes glued to the quaffle as he flew towards it, his hand stretching out, hoping to grab the maroon ball.

Usually Rose was pretty excited when the first quidditch match of the year, especially when it happened to be against Slytherin. This time, she wasn't as happy excited about the match. Her brother Hugo, was in the hospital wing after being attacked. It was for him that Rose went right down to the quidditch pitch after finishing breakfast. Gripping the broom in her hand she waited patiently for the match to get started. As Aubrey announced them and Professor Longbottom told them to shake hands, Rose shook her cousin Albus's hand before stepping back and mounting her broom.
The match finally started and Rose was in the air waiting. She saw Roxanne catch the quaffle and flew around the pitch, trying to find a spot where she'd be able to get the quaffle when it came her way. Rose was glancing around the pitch when she looked up to see Roxanne not all that far away from her. As the quaffle left Roxanne's hands Rose saw that it was coming towards her. Moving her broom towards it she noticed Scorpius doing the same thing. Reaching her hand out she just hoped she could catch it.

His grey eyes glanced over at Rose, noticing that she was flying towards the quaffle as well. He clenched his teeth, reaching out just that bit more. His fingers touched the quaffle and before long he had managed to get his hand around it. A sigh of relief left his mouth as his grip on the maroon ball tightened. Ah too bad for Gryffindor...not. He tucked the quaffle safely under his arm before turning his broom around.
Now, he thought, all they had to do was keep the quaffle in their possession. Flying towards the Gryffindor goals, his eyes glanced left and right, where was the other Slytherin chasers. Surely they wouldn’t just leave him to fly alone knowing that the Gryffindor chasers were after him as well as being a target for a bludger from the Gryffindor beaters. He caught the sight of green and relief washed over him. Even though he didn’t like the girl, Zmeyette was the closest. "Oi, Greyback," he called out to get her attention. "Heads up," he grabbed the quaffle and threw it as hard as he could at her. Just because he didn’t like her didn’t mean he was going to be easy on her.

Natalia was already on her usual rampage, hitting bludgers everywhere she went. She might be a pretty girl, but she was definitely one of the best beaters here, and she owed it all to her parents. Shane and Anya had passed down their knowledge and talent of Quidditch to her and Dominic and Natalia took full advantage of it. She had been practicing, even after Albus had let them go from their schedule practice. She would stay back and swing her wooden club. Practice, practice, practice. The match was already going down and she could see red and green everywhere around her, like Christmas lights flying in the air.
She focused her attention on the Gryffindor Chasers, picking out in her mind who would be her first real target, because so far, she had been blindly hitting the bludger, not meant to harm anyone yet. Could people tell she was holding back? She looked around for her Captain, afraid that he would call her out in the next practice. Without a second to waste, she went after the first ginger she saw. Rose Weasley was going after Scorpius and Natalia was going after her. She held onto her broom with one hand and tightened her grip on the bat with her other, ready to strike at any given moment. All she needed was a bludger to come her way.

If Poppy was going to be completely honest, she knew next to nothing about Quidditch. Yes, the basics; the quaffle went in the hoops to score a point, another kind of ball thing hit the other players, and the flying one with the wings –the snipt? sniff? stitch?- could make or break a game (or so she’d been told). A very long time ago Poppy had learnt to fly. Or at least, someone had attempted to teach her to fly. She’d been bloody rubbish at just staying on the broom, much less raising high up into the air with projectiles flying at her from every which end with only one hand on the broom with the other either reaching for something or holding something. And that would only cause attention to be divided, and she had a short attention span as it was... She shuddered just at the thought of the mess she’d get herself, and anyone else in the vicinity, in if she even attempted to play this sport.
Although it was a large part of wizard culture, Poppy rarely felt bad for not knowing what the game was exactly. Did she need to know all the rules and particulars to enjoy it? Well, she didn’t think so. Perhaps one day she’d actually attempt to learn what everything was and what it meant, but for now, she was content just watching and trying to make out what was going on. When she got bored, she amused herself by making up her own rules; which she had to admit were probably more interesting than the real ones. She quite liked having the ability to make things up and not adhere to the real rules. It just made things more interesting.
With wide, curious eyes she watched the biggest ball pass from one team to the other. There were people flying every which way and she wasn’t quite sure where to look lest her eyes miss something important. She would have asked where to look, but she was amongst people she didn’t really know well, having arrived at the pitch a little late and been unable to find a close friend to sit with. She didn’t really think it was that important to sit with someone she knew; they’d be concentrated on the game like she was. Since she had no idea what was going on, she settled for cheering loudly like everyone else in her section, and waving both her red and gold, and green and silver banners around.
poppy has no idea what's going on, but she's enjoying herself by simply watching

Lily was pumped! Quidditch was in her family's veins. Hell, back in her father's days of Quidditch and schooling, the Potter and Weasleys had pretty much made up an entire Quidditch team themselves. She had the blood of both families running through her veins, she'd practically grown up on a broom, whizzing around after her older brothers and nine cousins. Quidditch came as naturally to her as breathing, so of course it was no shock when she was chosen as the team keeper for the third year, though she'd taken a break last year to focus on her studies. Sure, Quidditch was a lot of work and sometimes she thought that she could do without so many practices, but they helped the team grow together and anything that increased the chances of a victory, especially against the Slytherins, was worth the effort in her books.
She enjoyed the usual back and forth banter in the change room as she and the rest of the team prepared. It was relaxed, but hyped. There were jokes thrown at each other, and the occasional mocking comment about the Slytherins because of the house rivalry between them. Basically the usual pre-Quidditch talk. Lily knew everyone on the team well, of course. There were only two players on the team that she was not related to, Alaya and Patricia, but she got along with them well. After all, Patricia's own father had participated with her dad in the Triwizard tournament years and years ago, so there was a sort of camaraderie between their families. Alaya was one of the house champions, and Lily knew that she was close with her older brother, James, so she guessed that the beater was pretty cool, too.
She rose easily into the air as the whistle was blown, speeding over to her goalposts and doing a few 'just for fun' loops around them as the gme began. Then she hovered in front of the middle goalpost, occasionally drifting over to the one on her left or right as she watched the action unfold half a quidditch-pitch away.
Gryffindor got off to a good start, getting first pick of the Quaffle, and Lily allowed herself to react a bit. The next second, however, she had to be alert as a loud groan rippled through the stands housing many Gryffindor students simultaneous to a cheer from the Slytherins. Lily cursed under her breath, gripping her broom tightly as she saw the Slytherins, Scorpius she thought judging from the blonde hair, zooming their way up the Quidditch pitch towards her. This was one of the most stressful parts of Quidditch. Seekers could relax until they saw the snitch. Chasers had their support, their three comrades to help them. Beaters could hover on the sidelines and smash bludgers whenever they felt like it. But keepers had no one to lean on. If a goal went in, it was always the keepers who got the blame. Nevermind the chasers who allowed the Quaffle out of their possession, or the beaters who could have stopped the opposite team with a well placed bludger. No, it was always the keeper's fault, and Lily was not going to allow Slytherin to get the first goal of the game.

Rose couldn't believe she had failed to catch the quaffle. Still there was nothing she could do. Next time she would just have to be faster than Scorpious. Furious at herself she looked around to see if she could find any of the Gryffindor beaters. Still she couldn't spend all of her time searching for them, she needed to steal the quaffle. Or at least wait for him to pass and try to take it then. She was a little uncomfortable when she spotted the slytherin beater looking her way. How she hoped that the beaters for her team would locate a bludger first. "Come on send a bludger his way."
She was sort of friends with him but when it came to the matches all was fair. Speeding up on her broom she was soon not that far behind him. She was just going to keep up on him, and she was sure that Roxanne wasn't all that far behind either. Between the two of them hopefully they could get the quaffle and score for Gryffindor. Hopefully her practice with Seizel had paid off. Scanning the pitch once again she saw Lily guarding the goals. Rose was confidant that this was going to be a good match, and a little hopeful that Gryffindor was going to get a win.
Finally Rose saw the opportunity that she was waiting for. She watched as she called out to another chaser, the greyback girl, and watched as the quaffle left his hands. Speeding up she reached out her hands, once again hoping to gain the quaffle for gryffindor.

1. Rose attempts to intercept Scorpius's pass/
dexterity + Dice Roll = 5 + 4 = 9 Scorpius's strength + Dice Roll = 4 + 6 = 10 [/ul] Results: Zmeyette now has possession of the quaffle. Notes:- Zmeyette can now take a shot at the goal.
- Beaters can attempt to hit the bludger at Zmeyette before he posts, and Gryffindor chasers can attempt to steal, however, they cannot attempt to intercept until Scorpius has posted how he is passing to.
- Beaters must post they are going after the bludger for the an offensive attack, wait one post, and then do a post of hitting the bludger at a player.
- Spectators can post in here as well. Please make sure to put in your notes that you are a spectator.
- Don't forget to say in your notes what you are attempting to do.

There was something about the speed of quidditch matches that brought a certain exhilaration to her. It was a practice for her eyes, recognizing blurs and the distinct shape of the quaffle as it was passed between players. It was always a sudden change, expected but like an explosion of movement. The intensity always was stronger when it came to Slytherins and Gryffindors. While there was movement there, it wasn't always great, as a beater, to join in the fray of it. While Natalia was all moment, the Chinese girl took to lurking, trying to make sure her hits were accurate and made a difference. She worried about getting in the way of her team's chasers as well.
Then there was a lesson in micro-management. Chun knew that if she kept her eyes solely on the game, she wouldn't be able to catch sight of a bludger at all, being just as useful as a regular spectator in the stands-- except of course, flying and a potential obstacle if she wasn't careful. On the other hand, if she only focused on the bludgers, she wouldn't be able to take out immediate targets. There is a priority that comes with the plays. If the opposing team owned the quaffle, always them first, then the chasers. Targets changed depending on the situation, particularly if the other beaters seemed to be more aggressive. If a seeker was also a possible target to hit, then of course aim for them at the best opportunity.
Her idle watch of the game was cut short for her when she spotted one of her main tools of the trade zooming nearby, smirking familiarly at its destructive force. ”Why hello there...” the Chinese girl quietly remarked, readying her bat as she soon began to approach the bludger.
((OOC: Chun is approaching a bludger.))

The match was well on its way and the quaffle was making its way back and forth between the teams. Zmeyette was still fuming over how she let the quaffle get away from her in the very beginning of the match, being out shined by a weasley was not okay in Zmeyette's book. She needed to redeem herself and was happy that she would be getting her chance soon.
Zmeyette had stayed back after losing the quaffle to Roxanne Weasley knowing that eventually the Slytherin team would need someone who was already half way toward the Gryffindor goals. It happened sooner than she thought. Roxanne Weasley had attempted to pass the quaffle to Rose Weasley but failed as Scorpius intercepted the pass. Zmeyette smirked and gripped her broom handle with her left hand, waiting for Scorpius.
Finally he was close enough to where he could toss the quaffle to her. He signaled her by calling her last name. Zmeyette was ready. As soon as the quaffle left his hands Zmeyette spotted a patch of red hair flying in the direction of the maroon ball. This was not going to happen again. Zmeyette pushed forward on her broom and gripped the ball tightly in her right hand, turning just before Rose Weasley could of ran into her. Zmeyette ducked lower onto her broom as to gain speed and make the target of her body smaller. She did not want to get hit with a bludger.
Zmeyette was zooming toward the goal posts, toward Lily Potter. Zmeyette was locking eyes on the goal hoop to the left but she knew she would switch it up at the last second and head to the right. She wanted to make Lily second guess where she was going. Zmeyette was close enough to throw the quaffel in. She was heading for the left hoop, eyes blazing and suddenly pulled on the broom and jerked it right and tossed the quaffle as hard as she could toward the goal post. As soon as the ball left her hands she began to pray silently that it would go in, she didn't want to fail again and let her house down.
OCC: Zmeyette is attempting to make a goal

"Aw, damnit!" Swearing was not something that Lily liked to make a habit of, even if some people didn't consider what she did to be swearing, but on the Quidditch pitch it was easy to use words to get out your frustrations. Her hands tightened over the broomstick handle, her drifting in front of the goal posts becoming wider and wider apart. She would not suffer the humiliation of letting the first goal of the game in. She just wouldn't. Her brother, perfect James, had been the one to represent their family and house in the tournament. That had been humiliating enough to Lily. This was a better way to prove herself, and she wouldn't let herself be the brunt of laughter from any house based on another failure.
The red-haired girl tensed, eyes narrowed as the Slytherins advanced ever closer. She hovered in front of the middle post, watching the girl, one with some weird Z name that Lily couldn't remember, approach. She was usually good at picking up little ticks from others, giveaways to their aim, but that was with people she'd faced before so she had nothing to go off of with this girl. Therefore the safest bet would be to stay where she was, as was her usual strategy with most chasers, an equal distance away from the hoop on her left and the one on her right.
Left... right? Left... right! She caught the last-minute jerk from the opposing chaser and zoomed as fast as she could towards the right goalpost, ready to block or catch the quaffle. It was not going to go in if she had anything to say about it.
Lily Potter is attempting to block the shot.

Natalia was running out of luck, she was not sure what was going on. She was still waiting for the bludger to come her way when out of the corner of her eye she spotter Chun. Chun was the other Slytherin beater and someone Natalia had learned to kind of get along with or at the very least, work with. The two girls were very much polar opposites in a sense. Natalia was vocal while Chun was more quiet. Natalia would go with instinct and Chun was the type of person to calculate. That didn't mean she was a better Beater, because both of them had their different strategies that worked.
Natalia noticed Chun was looking around, probably looking for a decent target, but Nat didn't have time to look. She had already picked her target the moment Rose Weasley flew by her. While across the pitch Greyback was zooming for the goal post, Natalia saw the bludger coming her way. With a little skip of the heart and a smile on her face, she pulled the wooden club back and hit the ball, aiming it straight at Rose's pretty little red head. natalia hamilton is attempting to hit rose weasley.
