( s p e c i a l . a b i l i t i e s ) More in depth
( f i r s t . c r e a t i n g . a . c h a r a c t e r ) When you first create your character you may have special abilites for them, but you can only have it for one out of every three characters. Also you can only have up to two special abilities for that character from the start. (Unless it's a character that J.K. Rowling created and actually stated all of the special abilities they have) So if you have trouble figuring out if you can have a special ability for your character right from the start, here's a little guide:
- 1-3 characters: 1 character can have special abilities
- 4-6 characters: 2 characters can have special abilities
- 7-9 characters: 3 characters can have special abilities
- 10-12 characters: 4 characters can have special abilities
- 13-15 characters: 5 characters can have special abilities
( a f t e r . c r e a t i n g . t h e . c h a r a c t e r ) Now let's say you created a character with no special abilites, but decided that they would want to learn one? Or you want a character to learn another special ability. Well we are going to have no limit on this, but there will be some specific rules. First you have to thread your character learning the special ability, and it can only be ones that are learn-able. (so no learning seer, metamorphagus, etc.) Also, you have to notify an admin when you begin to have a character learn a special ability. Once you have notified an admin they will discuss with the other admins and then reply the length it has to take for your character to learn the ability. Of course your character won't always be able to learn it right away, these things take time after all. When you notify the admin please use the code below for notifying the admin. Then once you've threaded your character learning this, and yes it will probably take more than one thread as some of these things need practice or research for your character. Now once you've gotten to the point where they've mastered the ability you'll need to fill out the for mastering the ability and PM it to an admin for them to review it. So make sure to keep track all of the threads you had for your character learning!
Admins also reserve the right to reject a character for learning a special ability. Though the more in depth you make your app, the better chance you'll have at being able to. Admins will give you their reasoning, also make sure to watch the ban list as well.
If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask!

( t h e . g u i d e ) To Learn some more
( w e r e w o l v e s ) In the Wizarding World you do not have to have a silver bullet to kill a werewolf. They can get killed the same way as everyone else, but it's harder because of the fact that they have such a high rage when they are transformed and are much faster and stronger. Unlike transforming into an animagus, it is a very painful process and drain the energy out of a person. Werewolves are allowed at Hogwarts; however, they are required to take the Wolfsbane Potions so they are more calm during this state, and also each werewolf students has a classroom assigned to them for them to stay in during the full moon when they are transformed since even with the potion they are still unfriendly. Werewolves are more apt to eat human flesh than animal flesh as well. Also in werewolf form, they are not able to be tamed. A person does not have their human mind in this form unless they take the potion. Now all werewolves are charismatic and after a full moon they are weak from having to transform.
Werewolves can mate when they are in human form, however their offspring do not always become werewolves, but they can have werewolves tendencies such as anger issues, and liking raw meat more than cooked. So just because the father or mother is a werewolf does not mean the child will always be.
( v a m p i r e s ) - Vampires are classified as 'beings' by the Ministry of Magic, and thus are subject to the same laws as Witches and Wizards. However, Vampires are completely different beings all together.
- Full fledged vampire males can reproduce if they mate with a witch or a female muggle. It will cause the child to be a half-vampire. Full fledged female vampires cannot carry a child and therefore they cannot reproduce. Half vampire female may reproduce and carry a child.
- Vampires are allowed to carry wands; however, they are not as skillful with a wand as a witch or wizard is and most do not usually use a wand in the first place as vampires have a magic of their own. Half-vampires are able to produce quality spells with their wands, and have to rely on them more than a full vampire.
- There are two types of venom in a vampires fangs that they can control at will which one comes out. The first one of which is used to put their target into a sleep and have them become limp. The other venom is used to turn them into a vampire. However, before the process is complete one can get an antidote from St. Mungos to stop it, as it does take a couple of days for the process to finish. Their fangs can also be retractable.
- The second way vampires add to their ranks is through 'blooding'. This is a process done with more willing participants, involving a transfer of blood between the Vampire and the Wizard. Becoming a vampire results in eventual loss of the ability to control magic, as the body shifts and becomes more vampric in nature over the course of a few years.
- Vampires are identified by their pale skin and slim facial features. Commonly, vampires eyes are either brown or red, though more modern vampires prefer to use contacts and makeup to hide these facts. When exposed to sunlight they get burned quite badly as they are not good with sun. They do not burn up and die, but if exposed too much they can become very ill and eventually die.
- Half-vampires dislike the sun as well. However, they do not burn in it but they are quite uncomfortable when in the sun.
- As far as feeding is concerned, Vampires usually only need go through two gallons of blood a month to remain healthy. A regular diet of meats and carbohydrates must be ingested as well to keep up physical form. Human blood is preferred, though some vampires prefer the blood of animals, in a last ditch attempt to save their own humanity
( v e e l a s ) Half-veela, quater-veela, fullblood veela. These creatures are considered as the most gorgeous ones that ave ever walked on earth. Their hair which usually looks like silver (dark haired Veelas exist in the south and in Asia but not in Europe) can sometimes be used as a core in a wand, but it is not as powerful as other cores and it is rarely that the creatures give a lock of their hair to someone. Full-blood veelas can turn into horrible looking bird creatures when they are mad. They are not always beautiful. Half-veelas though have not inherited that. Full blood veelas are always females. Males can be part veelas.
( m e t a m o r p h a g u s ) Metamorphagus's have the ability to change their appearances. This is a rare ability and is usually acquired because of genetics, as in someone in their family is one as well. However, there are rare cases that it isn't genetics.
( s e e r s ) A seer can see into the future (this ability is usually genetic too, but there are rare cases). the future is always changing, so just cause they see it doesn't mean that it is true. They can also see into the past as well, though this is something they train themselves to do unlike visions of the future that show up randomly.
( a n i m a g u s ) OVER 16 YEARS OLD ONLY! This is a long and tricky process that allows the witch or wizard to turn into an animal (no magical animals will be allowed) however if not done right it can go horribly wrong. It take a long time to master transforming without a wand.
( o c c l u m e n s ) Can block out Legilimens from reading their thoughts. It is quite hard to become an Occlumens and takes a long to to master it, though some are faster than others at mastering it.
( l e g i l i m e n s ) Can "read" the minds of others. This power also takes quite a few years to perfect. However, they cannot read the minds of skilled Occlumens.
( p a r s l e t o u n g e s ) A parselmouth has the ability to communicate with snakes. This is a very rare ability and it is usually genetic. It can be learned, but it is very hard to do so.
