------------------------------------------------------------[/center]
EYE COLOUR: Blue-green
HEIGHT: 5'6"
WEIGHT: 120 lbs.
PERSONAL STYLE: While Makenna’s angelic looks may lead you to thinking that her personality is just as sweet and unassuming, it is completely ruined by the time she opens her mouth. And then the illusion is shattered. While Makenna is certainly pretty enough, she makes little to no effort in accentuating her beauty. More than anything else, Makenna tends toward the tomboy side, and her lack of makeup and her penchant for comfortable clothing.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: A very large portion of Makenna’s looks derived from her mother’s side of the family. Everything from her pale complexion to her thin, delicate features speaks of her mother’s Veela blood that has been diluted through many generations. Her hair bears a pale gold Veela sheen that wave down a couple inches past her shoulder. Makenna’s complexion is as almost as pale as her hair combined with her long limbs all steers her further in the general direction of her Veela ancestry. Now Makenna is neither particularly tall nor particularly short, standing at a respectable height of 5’6”. However, her long and delicate limbs tend to lend towards the belief that she’s taller than she actually is. While just about everything about her looks point towards her Veela heritage, her eyes betray this image. The blue eyes are just a shade or two too dark for it and have just a smidgeon of green. But most people tend to ignore those little blots that could have the potential to destroy the entire Veela look and pretend that the blue was just a tad lighter.
While Makenna is entirely aware of the very vague influences of her mother’s blood, it is rare that she ever utilizes it. More often than not, she finds it a bit alarming and is a bit disgusted with the Veela blood running through her veins if anything else. The only time she has or ever will use even a drop of the influence of her mother’s blood was if she wanted to use it for the purpose of throwing people off balance about what they think about her. For her, it is unimaginably fun.

BIOGRAPHY: Camellia Gauthier had been a mere sixteen year old when she fell in love with eighteen year old Dennis Martell. As it is often the case with impetuous couples who just could not wait, they were married a mere two months after they had started going out. Their relationship is that of a classic love story. While many other couples who suffered from a similar situation would have failed soon after encountering it, Camellia and Dennis succeeded but not without great adversity. At the time of their marriage, Camellia was still studying at Hogwarts and Dennis fought to support his wife and himself while living at Hogsmeade where he could be closest to his wife. Not only did their relationship survive the rocky stages and arguments but their love for each other survived as well. It’s a beautiful tale… now if only they could have kept their hands off of each other.
As such, their first child, Tyrone, was born at the beginning of Camellia’s seventh year. And it was around then their relationship took a turn for the worse. There were too many issues to enumerate that arose from their baby son. These difficulties almost broke them up altogether. Camellia would refuse to go down and visit him, and take Tyrone with her to her dorm where her roommates where unsurprisingly annoyed by this startling new occupant. While Tyrone was adorably cute, he was incapable of shutting up at night. Banded together by the desire to get rid of the wailing terror, Camellia’s roommates plotted to get the arguing couple talking to hash out their problems. It took many hours and broken objects before arguments slowed down. It was, by far, the worst argument that the couple had ever had but in it, much had been resolved between them, and before long, they were sickeningly lovey dovey again.
Their second child, Adam, was born a couple of months after Camellia’s leaving Hogwarts. It wasn’t for three years that a third child (Leland) was born, and a further year before their fourth child was born on August 5th. Having had so many boys before her, Makenna was naturally assumed to be a boy as well. In fact, the name that her parents had prepared for her was ‘Makenna Virgil’. To be honest, Makenna would have preferred the distinctly boy name that she was not given to the entirely girly name that was bestowed upon her. Scrambling for a name at the last minute, they fell back on the Gauthier family of tradition of naming their daughters after flowers. And thus Lily Makenna Martell was named.
Being so close in age to her brothers led her to be the reactionary person that she is today. All of her brothers were incredibly violent with each other, and with Makenna being the only girl among them, they often forgot that she was a girl and gave her the same violent treatment that they gave to each other. As such, Makenna had to learn to cope with the massive amounts of violence in the family and learned various fighting tricks and learned how to use her small size to her advantage. Once her brothers found out what she was trying to do, they were more than happy to teach her—only Leland was slightly hesitant due to his concern for her and her now tendency to pick fights almost. Leland only agreed to help if she promised not to pick fights just to test out some of the tricks she learned. As for the rest of her brothers, they just wanted to see their baby sister beat up a guy. As a result of this combination, Makenna can fight with the best of them; it’s unbelievable all the nasty tricks she has hidden up her sleeve.
It wasn’t until Makenna was about six years old that she had a baby sister by the name of Jasmine. Her sister was just about as sweet as her namesake and thus opposite of Makenna as she could possibly be. Makenna and Jasmine’s relationship could be called broken at best. They rarely talked to each other; in fact, they barely acknowledge each other’s existence. Makenna thinks Jasmine is a saccharine princess who has been pampered unbelievably (and only because she’s the daughter in the family who actually acts like a girl) and Jasmine thinks Makenna to be an insufferable ruffian with the delicacy of a frog.
Now, the family had a legacy. A large majority of the family on both sides had been sorted into Gryffindor—or at least the ones who came to Hogwarts did. Even as the family’s pureblood became diluted with the other blood, the children continued to be sorted into Gryffindor. There were only a few speckling of those who didn’t. It was something like three people in the past 100 years who weren’t sorted into Gryffindor, and the last one was 20 years ago. Naturally, the family is very proud of said legacy. Unfortunately, it’s a legacy that Makenna cannot stand. Everybody in the family figures that they have her all figured out to continue on this legacy. It annoyed her to no end that people would make such assumptions.
Naturally, come the time for her to be sorted into
At first, the adjustment from constantly being in the company of Gryffindors to Hufflepuffs was a bit strange and disorienting. Makenna hadn’t realized until the end of her first week just how deep she was buried in Gryffindors before. What was at first an act of rebellion became honest love and appreciation for the house of Hufflepuff. So what if Huflepuffs were generally looked down upon? It housed some of the greatest people, in her opinion.
Slowly and surely, her personal grudge against Gryffindor began to build. It wasn’t the people in the house that she hated exactly… it was more like what Gryffindor symbolized to her and her family that caused her dislike to darken and grow like mould. At family reunions, Makenna was looked at like someone who didn’t belong and as such, had no right to be within a 30-kilometre radius of the party of Gryffindors with the exception of Makenna. For Merlin’s sake, it was completely decorated in garish red and gold.
Although it had been her original intention to be known separate from her family, she had certainly not anticipated the vague hostility and the distinct lack of sense of belonging. To be entirely honest, it hurt her in an unimaginable way. With this seed of hurt, it began to spread and take form in the people sorted into Gryffindor in her second year. While Makenna doesn’t outwardly show her dislike for Gryffindor per se, there is something in her demeanour that shows her feelings on the matter. It is noticeable how Makenna is slightly colder to Gryffindors than she is to members of other houses.

RP SAMPLE:
While others may have found the bitter cold too much to handle, Dominique rather enjoyed it. It bit at her cheeks, bringing colour to her cheeks while her fingers slowly became numb in the cold. There was beauty to be found that snow and ice brought to the landscape; she couldn't help but admire it. Hence the reason for her walk. While the lake was beautiful in all is icy and snowy glory, it was also bone-chillingly cold outside. Dominique was hoping that the cold would keep most people inside thus leaving her alone to ponder her thoughts. In fact her hopes were based on the Gryffindor common room close to reaching maximum occupancy, thus giving it a startlingly strong resemblance to family reunions: cramped and just too much to take at one time. It wasn't until she had broken free from the crowded space and out in the corridors that she had started to feel a bit better. From there, she had eventually ventured out into the cold by the lake where she was now.
For someone who grew up around cousins who thought it was hysterical when one emerged from the shower with green hair or when one started sputtering out distasteful bird feathers, Dominique was surprisingly unreceptive to such antics. If anything, she disliked them greatly and hoped that she may nevcr see her red-blonde locks succumb to that horror of a colour that was bright neon green. In fact, it made her feel a bit sick to even think of that time. It had taken forever for her to track down the mischevious prankster to reverse it due to the fact that there simply were too many of them roaming around the household. That prank alone was enough to make her dislike the whole thing altogether. It make her wish that her cousins were not quite so content to go around pulling pranks everywhere and using her as an occasional fun victim. However, wishes seemed to give little of the desired effect; after all, it was always funner to have a victim that unwilling and more likely to make more of a fuss. How she wished all pranksters didn't live by that rule. Plain and simple, Dominique was, in no way, a fan of pranks despite it apparently being a majority of her family's way of life.
Hence the reason why she was so annoyed to find herself suddenly lifted off the ground and suspended upside, yelping at the unexpected motion. While it only took a few seconds for the incident to occur, Dominique could feel the adrenaline running through her veins from the sudden movement. The sudden change in gravity also had the unfortunate effect of pulling her wand out of her reach and towards the snowy path, where it clattered gently. Huffing annoyedly at her current predicament, she pushed her cloak and robes out of the way enough to see what it was that had her suspended in the air as she was. It didn't take too much effort to see that it was simple rope that held her in this position. How amateur. But as amateur as this 'prank' was, there was still the fact that Dominique had fell for it. Perhaps that was why she felt so much annoyance surge through her when she saw that rope.
Dominique cast an irritated glance at her surroundings, absolutely sure that the perpetrator was in the general area, searching for even the slightest movement. After all, the 'best' part of being a prankster was watching the results unfold. She was also almost positive that it was one of her cousins as they were the usual suspects. “Alright you got me. Now let me down,” she called out, irritation clearly colouring her tone. “Lucy? Roxanne? James?” After a few seconds of silence, she grew a bit doubtful that it was any of them playing this prank, especially if they hadn't revealed themselves yet. “Riley? Ryleigh?” Or maybe one of her roommates who had always had this irritating inclination towards pranking. Merlin, she was surrounded by pranksters and it was something that she did not appreciate in the least.
