The fact that Lina liked the wilderness and the openness of the area around Hogwarts wasn't lost on her. She knew why she loved it, and so she enjoyed it every moment that she could. The things Lina enjoyed in life were few, but she enjoyed them as best as she could. One of her secret little passions in life was singing. Now Lina hummed and tapped her toes to beats that only she could hear in her head, but she never sang out loud for anyone at Hogwarts to hear. The problem she had, was that she only listened to the muggle music when she found the rare chances to do so. There was something about the songs, the beats, the oddness of it all that Lina just loved.
She shared this secret with no one. Not a living soul on the planet knew. She didn't sing at home, she didn't sing in the halls at Hogwarts, no where. Lina only sang out by the lake, in the forest, or various other places when she was damned sure she was by herself. Today she had walked a decent distance away from the school to get herself a bit of that privacy because she wanted to sing. She wanted to belt it out and enjoy the moment. Sure, she probably should have been doing homework or studying for her N.E.W.T.S. or something, but she just wanted to enjoy the nice weather and sing. Was that so bad? She wasn't starting fights, flirting with boys, or on a broom, so it was a nice change of pace for the red head.
She sat on a rock, dressed simply in jeans with a black tank top and some converse. Her hair was in a long braid, pulled over one shoulder, and there was a smile on her lips. Just what was she doing? Well, the sun was out, the weather was great if a little colder than she'd like, and she was leaning backwards on the rock singing with everything she had. Lina's voice was a good one, if a little rough around the edges. She had no clue if she was a soprano or an alto, or that such things even existed, but she just sang along to the modern day muggle tunes that she had heard from down the street. The girls listening to it were about her age, and she liked the beat of the song, so she sang it without knowing anything about it. She sang the man's part and the woman's, fingers tapping on the rock to the beat. God. She just loved to sing. She was so wrapped up in it of course, that she had no idea anyone else was around. If she had known, not a single damned word would have left her voice, but as she didn't, she kept on going. Poor Lina's secret was about to be shattered.

being a muggleborn, hogwarts was always amazing to zac. even after six years at the school it had never lost its charm to the hufflepuff. what child didn't dream of living in a castle, with the beautiful scenery that surrounded hogwarts? zac pitied his muggle friends, who just thought that he went away to a 'special boarding school' each year, because they shut themselves up in their homes with their televisions and video games, never really seeing the outside world in all of its glory. after coming to hogwarts zac couldn't be like that. there were so many things to see and do when outdoors, he couldn't imagine ignoring it all for a few pixels on a screen. sure, it wasn't exactly 'manly' to enjoy the outdoors, but who didn't enjoy some fresh air now and then?
the weather of spring was what called zac out from his place in the hufflepuff tower where he had been working on an essay for potion's class. it was just too beautiful out to resist. sure, the temperature could be alittle bit warmer, but the sun was shining, the bird's were singing, and the typical vivid nature of spring was bountiful wherever he looked. it was one of those days that made zac note just how great it was to be alive, to be able to experience all of this. it wasn't that he really minded wintr, but spring and summer were definitely his favourite months. there was so much more he could do (although he had to admit that the looks on the faces of unsuspecting victims when he pelted them with snowballs were priceless). he was going to milk every second of snow/ice-free weather that he could.
the teen made his way down towards the lake for no other purpose than just to get some exercise and go for a calm walk. he was meeting yori later in the day, something that he was very much looking forward to, but for now his time was all his own and he just wanted to spend it in peace. it wasn't hard to find among the trees, though the weather was fine and many students were outside, not many ventured along this path towards the lake. zac just wandered wherever his feet led him, no target in particular, until he heard a voice drift through the trees. no, not a voice, a song, and a rather good one at that. the hufflepuff couldn't help himself- his course automatically changed direction, following the song as it continued until he could look through the trees and see the cause. he recognized her, she was in his year, slytherin. what was her name again... lina? something like that. the hufflepuff waited a few moments, not meaning to startle her, until there was a pause. after all, he didn't want to interrupt her. once there was a break, though, he made his way forwards, the usual relaxed smile on his lips, the one that never seemed to fade. "you're really good,"

To say that Lina was startled would be an understatement. The red head had thought herself utterly alone. Without another soul in the world anywhere close. So the moment someone was suddenly talking to her, she jumped halfway off the rock she had been sitting on. No, not jumped. Truth be told, the red head almost fell off the rock. She managed to stay on by grabbing onto the rock with her hands, but those startled blue-green eyes zoned straight on the boy in question. He was in her classes, so he was a sixth year, but other than that Lina had no idea who he was. In fact, she couldn't recall a name to save her life. All she could manage to remember was the fact he was a Hufflepuff, and that was about it. She was never one to remember details like that. Had she flirted with him before? Lina couldn't remember that either. Probably not.
"Uhhh... thanks?" She was startled, the red head had no idea what to say or do here. The Slytherin girl felt her heart race. She had been singing a muggle song. If her mother heard anything about this she was going to get all sorts of shit when she got home, and her mother was the only person in the world Lina feared. She opened her mouth to say something, but words couldn't come out. She was going to say something witty, snappish, and all sorts of things like that, but for once in her life words failed her. She had nothing to say. So she just stared at him for several moments, like some sort of deer trapped in muggle headlights.
"You tell anyone about this and I swear to god I'll kick your ass." There, finally she was able to say something. Even if her voice was tense, and she couldn't keep the slightest bit of fear out of her eyes. This could really come back to bite her in the ass if her mother found out. She was a bit of a blood purist, and a tyrant, to find out her eldest daughter was singing muggle songs? Even if Natasha always thought of Lina as a failure, this was going to be something that really would push the woman over the edge. Summer was coming, and as much as Lina knew her life was going to take a turn for the worse this summer, it would just be even worse if this got out somehow. Shit. Why did life do this to her? She had been having such a lovely day and now it was ruined.
