Amani looks around. There wasn't many people around, so she had plenty of options. But Amani was looking for just the right one. The one that would be isolated, and quiet. Well, she found one. Pretty quick, in my opinion. She has an eye for these types of things. She sits, and looks around. This little bench was surrounded in bushes, and little patches of grass, where flowers grew. It was pretty serene, and it was quiet. That's exactly what Amani was looking for.
She pulled out a piece of paper, and started drawing. She was alright at drawing, and liked to draw her surroundings. It was a little hobby she picked up when she went back home, and her aunt forced her to go outside. Not exactly how she wanted to pick up such a hobby, but it wasn't like she was complaining. That much, that is.
She started with the flowers. They were gold, with a wonderful green stem. She loved the color, and made sure to make a mental note of it. She didn't want anything to mess up this beautiful view. She loved it, and she didn't really love anything after.. well the 'incident', as her therapist calls it, she really hasn't gotten out and appreciated nature. She needs to do that more, so she can enjoy the rest of her life that she has.
She wished personally that her shell would just disappear, and she would be the same loving kind girl she was again. But it's so hard to break out of a habit, who knows how hard it its to break out of your shell? Not Amani, she doesn't have the strength. That's why she has a therapist. Her aunt told that to everyone who wanted Amani to be more outgoing. Everyone in her whole neighborhood knows about her and her parents. And what happened. And what happened to her. But she won't dwell on it for to long. She can already feel the tears prickling her eyes, and she looks at the flowers once more.

She heard the sound of footsteps. Hours alone have improved her hearing greatly, and she had heard it from a mile away. Along with a closer sharp intake of breath a few footsteps away from her. Curiously, she had peered from the corner of her eye to see a, cute, she should gladly note, guy, of Asian descent. She had made sure that her couldn't see her eyes, she shifted her position a little to make sure her hair was in the way, so she could stare a little more.
She jumped a little when he talked. She didn't think he would say anything, I mean, she was almost there to full fledged invisibility! She's been working so hard on this, and this cute guy is just going to ruin it for her. Not that she really minds...
"Ah, umm thanks..." She says, not facing him. She didn't want they're faces that close, it's already awkward enough for her. "I'm Amani Kigour." She wished he hadn't said his name. She really didn't want Jake Davies telling everyone what a semi-great artist Amani was. Then people would expect her to be nice and kind to them, and be their friend. She really couldn't handle that type of commitment right now. But her therapist did say that she's been getting better. Hopefully by the time she wants friends, it will be easier.

He was so close to her face, taking about how lovely she was. She didn't mind of course, until he had talked about how... unusual her name was and how unusualy lovely she was. She felt him move and sighed with reief. She could now answer his questions."I'm part veela. That's why I'm so pretty." she chuckles. "I guess Amani is pretty weird, but I never got the chance to ask my parents why they named me that." She quiets down, almost blowing her cover. She didn't want anyone to know about her horrible past.
"It doesn't matter. I'm used to weird. I don't mind the compliments. It's flattering really."[ She even blushes a little. What is Jake Davies doing to her? She stares back to her drawing, continuing where she left off, detailing the grass and the flower a little more. "You aren't offending me at all. I mean, I'm usually alone, but I guess company isn't that bad sometimes." She smiles to herself, turning the page, and starting on the outline of a human face. Before she knew it, she was drawing Jake Davies face, and blushes some more. She hurries and turns the page, slightly looking back and seeing if he had noticed.
