Steve had to get ready since he knew that he was going out with Layla somewhere special, but he didn't think anything was special about this spot. Their normal meeting spot was the lake, but he decided to change it up with the courtyard since he didn't want it to be too vague. Besides, meeting in the same spot got boring quick, and he found no reason to just dilly dally. Parting his hair to the sides as he quickly glanced in the mirror to make sure his blond hair was at least parted correctly. The last thing he wanted was a bad hair day and Layla to see him like he was the messiest thing on the planet. Tugging on a white shirt, and then pulling on a black sweatshirt to cover his body from the cold that came with this weather.
Steve was normally careful about how he dressed too, and soon he was just putting on some black dress pants. Looking more like a navy blue as if he had washed them too much, but he could always restore the pigment with magic. Layla was good at certain forms of magic, where Steve seemed to be good at everything he did, well, mainly potions. Perhaps he'd train to become a Potion's master, and then try to sell potions at his own store. Having a shop would be a cool thing to have, and perhaps run at one point. Getting a job was necessary to keep up the status quo. Though, he would definitely have to decide soon, but he licked his lips as he headed down the stairs.
Making his way outside of Hogwarts castle and into the courtyard where he found a quiet spot to sit. Many other students walked by, but they were on the far side so they wouldn't bother him at all. He was sitting on one of the stone ledges where the hallways had their little windows so that Layla could see him sitting there when she arrived.

Post by LAYLA ROSEMARIE BAILEY on Jun 4, 2012 23:18:58 GMT -6
Layla had really not been doing much, she had spent most of the morning curled up in the common room reading a book. She knew that she had to get ready to meet with Steve, but of course when time came to get ready, she had just gotten to the good part. That was a bad habit of Layla’s, her inability to put a good book down when she needed to, and she often got in a lot of trouble at home when it was dinner time and she didn’t listen to go and eat. But she forced herself to put the book down, knowing that it wouldn’t magically sprout legs and walk away. Well she hoped that wouldn’t happen, anyway, though you could never be too certain when you were talking about objects at Hogwarts. But still she finally put the book down and went up to her room to get changed to get ready to meet Steve. They had agreed on a different spot, which was closer than the lake, which she thought was weird but not too bad. After all the lake would probably be a busy time right now, given the changing weather people wanted to spend time outside before spontaneous weather came around.
It was still kind of chilly outside so she dressed for the occasion. Her jacket wasn’t too thick but it would keep her warm enough which was the goal. Once she deemed herself ready she pocketed her wand and made her way out of the ravenclaw common room. She ran into a few people on the way down, but she kept her conversations short saying that she had to go meet someone. People seemed to be pretty receptive of that, and they probably all had some sort of idea as to who she was going to go meet, so they didn’t keep her. Luckily for her the staircases were cooperating, so it didn’t take her forever and a day to reach the bottom floor and finally the entrance hall. She hurried down the entrance hall and headed out the large doors and headed in the general direction of the courtyard. She wasn’t sure what the plan would be for today, but she would be okay with basically anything as long as she spent some time with Steve. Even though she did spend a lot of time with him anyway, she enjoyed his company especially because he was one of those few people who really knew her. The only others who knew her as well were her best friends, and well it made sense that Steve knew her as such given that he had been under that category before they had started dating. It had been about four months now since they had gone from friends to couple, and their dynamic was still similar, which was refreshing because she had been afraid that something critical would have had to change between them. But she brushed the thoughts aside as she spotted him and hurried over to where he was sitting.
““Sorry I’m late, I got into that it’s hard to let go of the book modes” she said as she leaned to give him a kiss on the cheek,“ “I hope I didn’t keep you waiting long”

Steve wasn't too worried about why Layla was late since she was allowed to take her time with whatever business she had to do, and Steve would have gladly waited for her for any excuse she gave him. It's no worries though, but he had to say it to make it rather believable in case she wanted to try pinning something on him. So in return he soon spoke up to her, "Oh, don't worry about it, I'm sure it happens all the time, and I hope that you'll be seeing much more of me too. Haha, just kidding, but seriously, what kept you then?" he asked. Curious about her whereabouts now. Was she hiding something from him that she was ashamed of?
Did she have four ears he didn't know about and she wanted to confess her embarrassment in front of him? No, that wasn't it, but he put a finger to his chin as he remembered their distinct agreement on studying with each other. After all, they had barely gotten to know each other recently, but lately he felt like they had been getting even closer. This school semester was working out just fine and he was hoping everything would still be just fine sooner or later. Tapping his fingers lightly against his own arm and trying to determine what was going to happen to the few people just lounging out in the courtyard goofing off.
Steve knew that they wouldn't pass their classes if they kept goofing off like that, but that wasn't his problem anymore. "You don't need to tell me if you don't want to," he said to her as he kissed her cheek in return.
