it was a bit odd for zac to have a crush, which was what he could admit to himself he had on the fifth year hufflepuff. he was an easy-going guy, a joker, a charmer, many would say a flirt... but he was like that with everyone. little was meant by his charms but to make other people smile, to brighten their days, and originally that was all things had been with yori. to see a blush on her cheeks, a smile twinkling in her eyes... and then as they'd began to talk further that smile had become an addiction of his, something he looked forward to seeing, and that was when he'd known he was hooked.
now, though, they were friends. really good friends, and that was good with the hufflepuff. he and yori had been hanging out a lot lately, which was what was planned for today. tomorrow was the third task, where the fifth year and zac's best friend had landed hufflepuff in a comfortable first place. tomorrow was going to be a pretty busy day for her, so why shouldn't she have fun and just relax today? that was zac's goal, anyway, though it couldn't begin until she arrived, so for he was waiting for her on the path to hogsmeade, leaning against one of the trees, humming a quiet song to himself with a small grin on his lips as he waited.

[Whoop. Hope it's good. It's really late. I'm sorry about that.]
Yori was nervous, incredibly so. It had certainly been an odd year for the hufflepuff, though what was happening today was certainly one of the more pleasant surprises. She had grown to really care for Zac over the past few months. He had been a complete sweetheart from start to finish, and well, it hadn't been long before she had become smitten with his charms. Maybe even the first night at the Yule Ball. It was difficult not to like someone that could sweep you off your feet like that. When the invitation had come in to meet him over in Hogsmeade, the hufflepuff hadn't hesitated in accepting.
After all, the third task was quickly arriving, and Yori was starting to realize that she needed to have a better practice set for the pre-game jitters. She was looking for any out at the moment, and a day with Zac was definitely the best option she could've hoped for. It would keep her distracted from the task ahead, maybe enough to get a fairly decent amount of sleep tonight. That had been her main concern with her previous preparation. It was absolutely horrid what her sleep-addled brain would do to her before tasks. There were certain days she'd like to blame that for her lack of action against the boggart in the second task-- though it wasn't long before she knew that was far from the case.
No one had mentioned it since though, and the hufflepuff had been quick to remove the thoughts from her mind as she began her trek to meet the older boy. She had dressed lightly for the day, knowing that it wasn't quite into the spring weather just yet, cardigan, shirt, and jeans. It was a simple ensemble, something that the Japanese girl preferred. She found it difficult to spend a lot of time on outfits.
Yori spotted Zac near the tree, already finding a smile on her face as her ears caught the hum. The fact that the boy was so musically inclined only served to help his charm to her. ".. You always have a song on your mind don't you?" the hufflepuff joked lightly as she neared him, "Hope I haven't been keeping you waiting for long." Already, she could see herself enjoying the day, if anything just as a chance to relax from all of the hustle and bustle that student life seemed to bring.

he spotted the cute hufflepuff coming his way, keeping the tune up as she drew nearer. her simplicity was much of what he liked about her. zac had never been a guy to go for the girls who dressed in a different dress every day, who plastered their face with makeup, who acted so extremely fake that it was hard to tell them apart from a barbie doll. yori was simple, she was herself, and he loved that about her. ".. You always have a song on your mind don't you?" it was hard to tell exactly, but very plausible that the teen's grin widened. "pretty much, yep. there's a song for every occasion, so why not?" |
"Hope I haven't been keeping you waiting for long." how long had he been out, waiting? he wasn't sure... it didn't seem like long, but honestly when he was in such a good mood and losing himself in music (even in the form of simple hums), a half hour could pass by in the blink of an eye. he knew from experience. more than once he had been late meeting dunstable or someone else because he became too lost in his thoughts, writing a song, or just playing his guitar in the owlery. "shall i be really cheesy now and tell you that even a year isn't too long to wait for you?" he teased, pushing himself away from the tree trunk that had become his back rest, "or should i just assure you that i didn't beat you by much?" the hufflepuff shook his head slightly, the momentum moving his longer hair away from his eyes. maybe it was time for a haircut soon... "ready to go?"
