Leah smiled as she glanced down at the lake where her toes now dipped in. Her hair at the moment was a bright yellow which caused her green eyes to shine even more. She was ecstatically happy being that the carnival was now open. How great was that? Everything she loved was now surrounding her and she could finally take a break from her studies.
The food court had been her first stop where she had bought a rainbow snow cone with all the flavors poured on. She was currently licking it and savoring the sweet and bitter taste that covered her tongue. If she were to stick it out it would be very much the same colors she was currently erasing with her mouth. Humming along with the carnival music she looked around enjoying the people watching being as that was one of her favorite past times.
Some were holding hands with their loved ones, others were chatting enthusiastically with groups of friends. Most of them were playing games trying to win prizes for their selves or others. A bit of jealousy stung her at the thought that she had come here alone. A lot of people were intimidated by her because of her clothes and how otherworldly they were; which was ironic because everyone here was a witch or wizard which would be considered ‘otherworldly’ where she had been born.
At the moment she was wearing a yellow sweater over a white dress shirt so the tails, collar and sleeve poked out. For pants she wore a black skirt over yellow leggings tucked into black boots. All of that would seem semi-normal if it were not for the top hat and long dangling earrings in the form of tea pots that actually whistled on command. Leah loved to dress up as long as it didn’t stop her from doing anything active and she would not give that up for friends. Now though, part of her wished to go and join the party of students and teachers playing on the grounds.
