The year is 1943, January to be exact, two years before the close of World War II and the downfall of the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald. With wars creating chaos in both the Muggle and Wizarding World, there doesn't seem to be a single safe place in Europe. Rumor has it that the only thing keeping Grindelwald from invading Britain is the fear of Albus Dumbledore, the Transfiguration professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Whether or not that's true, it's only a matter of time before things reach a breaking point. Wizards and Muggles all over the continent are dying. Maybe that's why it's such a surprise that darker things lurk within the relatively safe walls of Hogwarts.
