hannah was nervous... and excited. nervous and excited a rather odd combination to feel if she was honest, but she was still looking forward to the evening which was what mattered most of all. it was late afternoon, roughly five, and the sun was just about to set, casting a beautiful almost unearthly glow upon the grounds and ancient castle. it was one of hannah's favourite times of day, with the sky streaked in soft colours, dark just about to settle in, the air cool but still warm now that it was getting closer to summer, and classes over of course. she liked the fact that the evening would be spent out in the setting sun today, which reminded her of why she was heading out to the courtyard again and her stomach curled.
a date. yes you heard correctly, hannah walsh had a date! with louis weasley no less, and she couldn't have been happier. ever since their meeting in the kitchen they'd been hanging around together rather a lot, and had attended the yule ball together. that had been somewhere between friends and a date but this was differently. this time it was a real date, and her mind still replayed the time he'd asked her for this date. he'd looked so cute all nervous and all, and she had been hoping he'd ask her out for a while... so of course she said she'd love to without hesitation and here she was. she'd spent ages on her hair, curling it lightly and trying to ensure she picked something nice to wear.
she'd never had a date before. never.. and that was why the nerves were kicking in. what if she said or did the wrong thing? what if she messed it all up? she didn't see how really, they got on great as friends, and she'd been crushing on him for a while. she knew he was a great guy, respectful and sweet and it wasn't like he was going to expect something from her on the first date or push boundaries or be impolite or anything like that, so really she didn't have anything to worry about - hence the excitement. she'd agreed to meet him in the courtyard and as she reached the place she sat herself lightly on one of the low stone walls in order to wait, a couple of minutes early and not minding having to wait in the slightest as she turned her face toward the sun to catch a few last warm rays.

The fifth year blonde Weasley was beyond panicing. He had asked Hannah on a date, sure he had asked her to the Yule ball but this was different, this was a proper date. His stomach twisted in knots with panic. What if they had nothing to talk about, what if she only said yes to be polite...want if she said yes because of his stupid veela charm. Oh Merlin this was nervewracking that he was sure he was making the other boys that where in the dorms nervous just looking at him.
What did one wear on a date, what did one do? He couldnt stop thinking of how the date might progress...or the lack of progression. He bit his bottom lip, nothing the others were saying actually made sense, perhaps it was because his ears had tuned them out so that he could hear the pumping of his blood instead. Maybe he should send someone out to Hannah telling her that he was sick and had to reschedule...no he couldnt do that to her, he wouldnt do that to her, no matter how much he wanted to right at this moment. Sighing the Hufflepuff pulled at his shirt, trying to make it sit better on him, succeeding after a few moments.
He couldnt let her wait any longer and with a defeated sigh he stood, put his wand in his pocket and headed out the dorm, leaving behind the cheers from his dormmates. The walk towards the designated place did nothing to calm his nerves, in fact they set them on fire even more. Even the whole 'just meeting a friend' line didnt work, probably because he knew they were more than that, well he wished for them to be anyways.
The site he saw when he spotted her was breathtaking. Yellow cladded with the soft sun illuminating her her. He was entranced by her but it took the nerves away for a moment until he realised that he was staring. With the blink of an eye, his nerves came crashing back with full force. She was too damn good for him that was for sure. Why did she agree to go out with him when she could have anyone she desired looking like that...like an angel. No an angel was an understatement. She was more than an angel, a goddess then? It seemed to sure her much better. He slowly walked towards her, the warmth from the setting sun soothed him a little. "Hi, sorry to keep you waiting," he replied, stopping next to her, "You look...," he still couldnt find the word that suited her, "...divine." It was the first word that came to his head, next was ravishing, beautiful and the list went on.

she didn't mind waiting, after all she'd gotten here early in order to make sure she was here before him so that she wouldn't keep him waiting. she was nervous, yes, but she knew that he would probably be more nervous. she'd come to know louis pretty well over the weeks that they'd started talking, and she'd come to think of him as a great guy. he was sweet and considerate and thoughtful and honest...and he was fun to be around too. she knew he could be shy and so could she, so she understood it and she tried to bring him out of his shell. of course, now that the two of them had spent more time together they were more comfortable, and it was easier to talk about things, any thing really. she liked that - he made her feel comfortable and safe, and she liked that she could have a joke with him.
still she knew he'd be nervous about this, and hell she was too.. this was her first proper date - ever. she had no idea what she was supposed to do, what she was supposed to say. there was no point saying it would be just like before, because they weren't just friends anymore, not really.. this was a proper date which meant it was clear they both liked each other..she certainly liked him, and he wouldn't have asked her if he didn't like her right? she hoped things wouldn't be awkward at all or anything, hoped that nothing bad happened, and a part of her thought that maybe she would make sure things didn't get awkward and all. she knew it was all in the mind really.. things were never awkward when they were around as friends, just the idea that this was a date made her worry it would be awkward...she just had to remember that this was louis and that whilst this was a date, it didn't change who they were as people.
she didn't hear him head toward her, caught by the setting of the sun she was memorised by the glow settling over the grounds. it really was a beautiful evening...perfect...and a small smile played upon her soft pink painted lips. she finally heard footsteps and she glanced behind herself toward the sound, her long chocolate hair tumbling forward over her shoulder at the movement and she grinned when she saw him. her heart skipped a little beat then picked up double time at seeing him and she uncrossed her legs and stood, moving forward to greet him. already she felt the nervousness fading away now that he was here and all. "Hi, sorry to keep you waiting," she shook her head lightly, "no no it's fine, i was early anyway" she said lightly.. he'd hardly kept her waiting, she'd been early by a few moments that was all. "You look......divine." she blushed, a deep rose tinting her cheekbones and she couldn't help but step forward and gently, with a faint touch of nervousness, she kissed his cheek, her lips touching the soft of his cheek then she stepped back slightly, blushing deeper. "thank you ... you look handsome," she said in return, glancing over his light hair and prominent cheek bones, the strong line of his jaw, the gentle eyes...he really was. she'd heard some people on occasion mention he was part veela but she didn't see that...she liked him for more than his looks and she thought perhaps that was why she didn't see the charm, but louis himself..

"no no it's fine, i was early anyway" She was just being polite, that was all, he thought but he still felt bad for making her wait, no matter how early she had been. Louis took a deep breath, focusing on something other that the shaking os his hands. Merlin she was already a friend, there was no need to get so nervous about this, they had done this many times. Ok so they didnt call it a date, but they were friends thayt hung out together, heck they had already seen each other in their pjs, nothing could be more nervewracking than that. Well he didnt exactly stare at her back then in the kitchens.
The hufflepuff caught sight of her cheeks growing red and then she stepped forward, kissing him on the cheek. It was his turn to get all embaressed. I should have been the other way around, he should have have kissed her cheek first, but he couldnt bring himself to do it. His heart was racing a million miles an hour that he was sure she'd be able to hear it. Taking yet another couple of breaths, calming both his nerves and his racing heart.
"thank you ... you look handsome," Did he? he thought. No one had ever said that before, except for Hannah and his family and before Hannah had said it at the ball, he thought his family was just being kind. But with Hannah it was different. He felt different.
How did he get lucky enough to call Hannah a friend...perhaps even more after today? That was a question he was sure he'd never find the answer to. Glancing at her he couldnt help the smile on his face, glad that the nerves were disappearing but his heart still kept racing. Through all this ordeal he had actually forgotten exactly where their date was supposed to be. Hogsmeade? Quidditch pitch? Right here in the courtyard? Louis wasnt one to forget things but at the mention of Hannah's name he'd forget everything except for her. "You ready?" he asked, holding out his hand to her.
((sorry its blah))

she smiled gently and looked at him, hoping he'd believed her. honestly she had simply been a couple of minutes earlier than she was meant to meet him, it wasn't like he was late at all - in fact he was probably a little early himself. she'd just been so worried about being late, and having been so nervous that she'd gotten ready and here a lot quicker than she probably would have if she'd been calmer, that was all. she didn't want him to feel bad about it, honestly he hadn't made her wait or anything, in fact she'd been enjoying the sunshine - and still was of course, even more so now that she happened to be enjoying it alongside louis. it was still a little weird to think of this as a date, but a good kind of weird - like a ' i hope this goes well ' kind of weird, that the idea of them being and remaining more than friends was a different way of seeing him, but exciting different, and she rather hoped he was the same.
she couldn't help but kiss him on the cheek - really he was utterly adorable, and she hadn't been able to help herself. it was new, to feel the touch of his skin beneath her lips, and she couldn't help but wonder if by the end of the date or perhaps on a second or hopefully third date she might in return feel the touch of his lips against hers. she pondered the taste of them, the warmth of them, how it would feel to have her first kiss with louis.. but she quickly silenced her thoughts as the blushing of her cheeks burned a horrible red colour. she wondered if that was okay with him- kissing his cheek like that - she didn't want to seem too forward, after all she was nothing like those slytherin girls who went around jumping guys left right and center all the time. she thanked him for the compliment, giving him one in return..
it was true, he did look handsome, and she rather hoped he believed it. she knew that he was a rather modest guy, but she hoped that he didn't mind the compliments..it was weird to her, saying them, considering she'd only been with one guy before louis, but she wanted to. she still felt incredibly lucky, and surprised that she was on a date with him, that he liked her enough to want to try being more than friends. she thought it could work, she just hoped that both of them would soon start to feel more comfortable around each other. they were both very similar and got on great, but she knew that their nervousness kept them back sometimes..still perhaps after a while - if all went good - they'd be a lot more comfortable around each other, after all they'd been getting there as friends. "You ready?" she grinned and nodded, her hair falling forwards slightly as she reached out to take his hand, gently going to interlink their fingers as couples did, blushing faintly - as much as that secretly annoyed her - and feeling her heart rate jump erratically at the way they were now holding hands. "sure, so were're we going?" she asked lightly, smiling and glancing up at him, eager to start the date with him.
