It was night, the only lights were the lanterns that flickered in the gentle breeze. How did they manage to stay lit...unless they were enchanted to. The blonde hair hufflepuff stared up at one of the lanterns, the flickering flame drawing him in almost like a trance. What was it that was so mesmerising about the flames he didnt know.
A sound behind him startled the blonde hufflepuff. Turning around sharply, he noticed it was only one of the school ghosts, Cavalier, he remembered the name of the ghost. "Good evening, Cavalier," he smiled as he faced the ghost fully curious as to why he was up in the clock tower at this time of night, then again the ghost was probably wondering the same thing. It certainly it a good evening The ghost spoke. No hellos, no what are you doing here, nothing but that scentence.
Louis moved from his spot and walked towards the center of the tower, sitting down on one of the bench seats that occupied the tower. "Well it is indeed a nice evening though the wind is still a little chilly," it was small talk, he knew it but it was nice speaking to someone other than his dormmates. Heck he missed speaking to Hannah, but he had not been able to find her that evening. "May i ask what brings you all the way up here?" he asked Cavalier but the look he recieved gave the impression that the ghost did not want to talk about it. After a moment of silence he heard Cavalier ask him the same thing.
A sigh escaped Louis' lips. Where to start, where to start. "Well i needed to think some things over and this was one of the quietest places to do that. Back in the common room, people are playing exploding snap and wizarding chess and it makes it hard for one to think," that was all the ghost was going to get out of him. He wanted to be vague and not say well Louis would play that game as well.
