It seems apparent that the universe couldn't possibly be bothered to give him a good day. Despite the day having started out fairly well, it soon became all too apparent that this ‘good’ day was nothing more than a disaster in disguise as everything came crashing around his ears, more or less literally. If the infirmary nurse was hoping for a quiet morning that involved no broken bones, Marlon was sad to inform him that this would not be the case. Well, considering that Marlon was not exactly who one defined as a ‘nice’ or even necessarily a considerate fellow, perhaps he really wasn’t all that sorry. After all, he was having the most god-awful day so far, why shouldn’t he also share in the pain and misery?
And to think, Marlon had thought the day was going so well, so well that Marlon the grumpy had decided to take a walk outside in the cool weather. Well, that is until the Hufflepuff’s cat decided to drop in, quite literally. That put a definitive hamper in his day mostly due to the fact that the Slytherin despised cats. In his opinion, they were foul and selfish creatures. But then his day was further ruined when the Hufflepuff soon revealed that she was stuck in a tree. Honestly, who climbs into a tree and gets stuck? And the cherry on the pie was when she fell and injured herself. It wasn’t like he could just leave her by the lake, injured. So he helped her to the hospital wing. Really, he should get a gold medal for this!
Glancing about the hospital wing and only seeing the one student lying in bed, watching them curiously. Marlon scowled meanly at the hapless individual, clearly unamused at having a witness to his good deed. “Hello?” he called out, annoyance clear in his voice. It was quite apparent that Marlon wanted nothing more than to drop off the injured Yori and flee at the earliest possible time. The very last thing he wanted was to be blamed for the Hufflepuff’s broken arm. Now where was that school nurse? Well, it was clear that he was not in the hospital wing at this current point in time, something that thoroughly annoyed him. The nurse’s absence was not part of his plans. So now it was time to take things into his own hands.
“C’mon,” he muttered in an annoyed tone as he gently guided Yori to an empty bed, taking care to not unnecessarily move the Hufflepuff's injured arm. Marlon had absolutely no desire to stay in the hospital wing for any longer than he really had to. Since the nurse was currently absent, Marlon had every intention of simply dropping off the Hufflepuff. It couldn't take long for the nurse to return to his place of occupation... right?

The pain was at a dull throb now, which she supposed was good-- maybe. Though she had aspirations to be a healer, Yori admitted to not knowing that much about injuries. She wished she could give good reasons for it, but so long as she couldn't bring herself to even look at wounds, there was little chance the hufflepuff would make a good healer. Broken bones were easier to handle, so long as nothing was poking out of the skin. She guessed (hoped) that it was a simple fracture, and that it would be a relatively simple fix. She didn't want to spend a whole lot of time in the hospital wing, in case a few of her more worry-prone friends happened to catch wind of what happened. It was far easy to imagine the scolding from Jos or her brother once she got out.
It was also for her 'escort's' sake that this visit would be relatively quick. The Japanese girl could pick up the reluctant emotions that he was feeling, if his earlier sarcasm wasn't already an obvious indication. She was honestly a little surprised that he had followed her to the hospital wing, though for a slytherin a hufflepuff's words wasn't much, Yori supposed. She didn't really understand the need or point in continuing to enforce house rivalry, the hufflepuff at least knew it ran deeply in the mechanics of Hogwarts, sad as it was. The boy wasn't even that bad, not really. The hufflepuff had certainly experienced worse from people, nasty creatures they could be.
Yori allowed herself to be guided to one of the beds, carefully taking a seat without moving her arm. She felt the pain shoot through her arm, wincing, as she tried to get it to hang loosely at the edge of the bed. ”Thank you for taking me here,” she muttered quietly as she watched her kitten try to climb onto the bed. He was just a little short from the top, clawing his way up the sheets for a moment before scurrying up. Natsu had done his best to follow them up to the hospital wing, which in hindsight probably didn't help anything, she supposed. The hufflepuff reached over with her good arm and scratched her pet's head, smiling as she heard him mew affectionately.
”I will make this up to you, I swear,” Yori remarked earnestly, ”Just um... I don't think I've caught your name.” She really wanted anything to ease the tension a little bit. The Japanese girl didn't really think it was going to help much, honestly, but she needed something to work with. If anything just to find him again to give him his reward. She was pretty sure there were plenty of brown-haired slytherins running around, so Yori couldn't imagine that being a good way to reach him again. At this point, she'd might have to home make something, though that was always a little more difficult to achieve while in Hogwarts. Thank god for the hufflepuff common room being near the kitchen. For now, she hoped the nurse would get there shortly.

It was positively irresponsible. That’s what this was. He could have been dragging in someone who was dying or bleeding out or something, and there would still be no nurse to attend to the poor guy. A nurse should never be away from his station; that’s the conclusion the Slytherin came to. It could literally be life or death. Marlon scowled as he glanced around the wing once more from his position next to the randomly chosen bed. He briefly registered that Yori had wince with some amount of pain. No doubt that Yori’s fall from the tree had caused some damage. How much damage had yet to be determined but Marlon was secretly hoping that it wasn’t anything more serious than a sprain of some sort.
He glanced over to her at her thanks. “Don’t mention it ever. Seriously.” he growled as he picked at the hem of his sleeves. The very last thing he needed was for one of his own to hear about this unfortunate story. Marlon refused to be depicted as a Hufflepuff lover. They were silly and crazy. Mostly crazy. And in this particular case, they also had kittens. At that very moment, the kitten in question was attempting to scramble up and onto the bed to be next to his mistress. The Slytherin scowled angrily at it. That thing was the reason why he was stuck in this godforsaken situation. If it had not been for the kitten falling on him, everything would be fine. Or at least that’s how it played out in Marlon’s mind. He couldn’t believe that this Hufflepuff wasn’t placing the blame of her predicament on that scrawny feline there, basking in the attention. Ugh cats. They were absolute fiends for attention, and it was apparent that this one here was no different.
“I’d really rather if you didn’t,” he replied shortly when she tentatively offered to make it up to him. Marlon blatantly ignored the part where she asked for his name. The last thing he wanted for this Hufflepuff to get his name and track him down. No. No, that was completely and utterly unacceptable. He wouldn't stand for it. He wouldn’t stand for a Muggleborn and Hufflepuff stalker. However would he explain that away to the purebloods? While some of them may enjoy the idea of having a Muggleborn servant, Marlon had no such desires. There was absolutely no doubt in his mind at all that a Muggleborn would be able to figure him out given sufficient time. As such, he just wanted them far, far away from him, the farther the better.
The longer he stood and waited for the nurse to make his magical appearance, the more Marlon wanted to leave. His eyes wandered restlessly around the hospital wing. He had never intended to stay in the first place. After what seemed like forever to him although in reality, it was no more than a few moments, the Slytherin’s patience had run out. “Look, you’re here and safe. I’m sure someone will come soon." he said, turning to her abruptly. With that, Marlon made to leave, levelling a dark glare at the random extra student sitting on the bed as if daring the student to voice their opinion.
