It was the first ever carnival that Hogwarts was hosting and really Dunstable was quite excited. Down in the boys’ dormitory of the Hufflepuff common room, the young hufflepuff was getting ready for his date with a young slytherin. The only thing that could get in the way of this date was Olivia herself, he just hoped that Olivia would find the carnival to be a joke and stay away from it. He looked at himself in the mirror once more to make sure everything at least looked decent. Blue jeans, a yellow shirt and a black sweater around his waist just in case it where to get a bit chilly out. He smiled to himself, hoping he looked just fine for Lucy before heading on out of the Hufflepuff common room.
They had agreed to meet at the carnival itself, just in case Olivia was to be in the great hall. Whistling lightly to himself and jingling the coins in his pocket the young huffepuff walked through the great hall and out the front doors onto Hogwarts Grounds. The carnival wasn’t too far away from the school, over by the Quidditch pitch as part of it was taking place inside of the Quidditch pitch. He couldn’t wait to see what kinds of rides and games there were. He of course had been to muggle carnivals but surely carnivals were much different in the wizarding world after all.
Looking up at a rollercoaster that seemed to run on magic, the young boy smiled before heading to the entrance to the Quidditch pitch where he and Lucy had indeed agreed to meet. Leaning against the doorway he waited for the young slytherin girl to meet him there.

Lucy finished braiding her hair down her back and looked at her reflection in the mirror. This was her first real date with Dunstable, and she wanted to look good. Lately she wasn't getting much sleep, as she still had nightmares about THAT night, but she'd used some magical creme to hide all the bags under her eyes. The half vampire was trying for simplicity today. So she'd worn some jeans, a cute emerald blouse that would make her eyes pop, and a nice jacket over that. Even though it was early spring, it was still bound to be cold outside. Sitting on the edge of her bed, she was glad that the other girls were gone already. She hated getting ready in front of them. They always sneered at her, called her names, or just ignored her, which she supposed was the better of the options. Sliding her delicate legs into some knee high black boots, she put her wand in the right boot and stood up. With vampire reflexes, she could have her wand out of her boot before someone could yell stupefy.
With a grin, she touched up her makeup and then left. She couldn't seem too happy though, since Olivia could be watching, or better yet, one of her dumb lackies. So she put on her sour better than thou face and went out the doors. Since it was hard to meet him on grounds, she agreed to meet him at the entrance, where it would be more casual. Bumping past students, she bit back curses and resisted the urge to jinx people, or better yet just turn and run back to her dorm. Dunstable was waiting for her, she couldn't let him down. For a muggleborn, that boy was handsome and kind. Nothing like what she imagined, or like what her father had told her. Sticking her hands in her jacket pockets, she walked sullenly down to the pitch. The music got louder and louder as she did, and she felt brighter and brighter the closer she got. Perhaps it was the festive spirit of a carnival, or perhaps it was just in anticipation of meeting Dunstable. Either way, she was cheering up.
Walking through the gate, she stopped to look around for Dunstable. Spotting him, she resisted running up to him, and instead walked slowly towards him, weaving in and out of people. Getting to him, she slid an arm through his and looked up at him. For once she was shorted than him. The petite girl usually wore heals to compare with everyone else, but she was wearing flat healed boots today, so she had to look up to melt in his eyes. "Hey Dun," she whispered, knowing he'd hear her.

Dunstable smiled at Lucy as she cheerful called out to him. She looked rather dashing as usual in his eyes. “Hey Luc,” he smirked lightly at the young blond before taking a hold of her delicate hand. He didn’t care if Olivia showed up today, he wanted to make Lucy his for the day whether or not anyone else liked it. He hated having to hide the fact that they were together, and despite the fact that he knew they shouldn’t be out in public like this, who knew if they would get another chance.
“So what should we hit first?” the young hufflepuff boy asked her as he looked outside of the Quidditch Pitch where all the rides and some attractions were, inside of the Quidditch pitch was where all the games and food court was. Of course Dunstable had made sure to bring some money with him so that perhaps he could win Lucy a prize from her to keep. It seemed like the perfect thing to do at a carnival at least that’s what he had always seen in the movies. He didn’t think that Lucy would know that seeing as she had probably never been to a muggle carnival or seen a muggle movie.

Lucy watched him come up to her and she kissed him on the cheek, her lips brushing against his cheek. His hand entwined with hers and she blushed. This was their first real date, and she wasn't really used to holding someones hand. She was used to keeping her hands in her pockets, or holding a wand to defend herself. Lucy enjoyed this moment, knowing that her life was in ruins and that all Olivia could do was oust her from the Knights. She knew that Dun would always be there for her and that he would love her no matter what. And she felt the same way about him.
As they walked along, tension eased out of her body. Just being with him made her feel better. Lucy calmed down and leaned lovingly against Dunstable, looking up at him. "Well, we could always go on the ferris wheel, that's supposed to be romantic. Or we could play a few games?" She wanted to play some games, but wasn't sure if he wanted to or not. She was kind of super strong but didn't want to flaunt it, so if they played a game or two she would keep her strength to that of a normal teenage girl. Smiling sweetly up at him, she waited for him to decide. She'd never really been to a carnival, so she had to just go on movies that she'd seen. She wanted to go up high in the ferris wheel and snuggle with her boyfriend, or spend her time playing games and having fun with the competition. But she wasn't sure if that's how it was really supposed to go.
