In all honesty Ron had hoped that his children would be able to enjoy school without any dark magic spreading about. But it seems that it was going to be the exact opposite, which was something that Ronald had feared. He wanted his kids to have a normal school life, unlike what he had. He didn’t even get to finish Hogwarts since he had gone off with Harry and Hermione in search of Horcruxes. He was sure glad when Kingsley had decided that anyone that fought in the second Wizarding War did have to finish up Hogwarts and go straight into Auror training. He had figured Kingsley had done that because not only did Harry and Ron (seeing as Hermione went back to finish her seventh year) miss their seventh year because of trying to slowly kill Voldemort, but because of the students in their year did not get a very good education since Voldemort had Hogwarts in his hands.
But now wasn’t the time to think of the past as he needed to stay focused on the present and what was happening at Hogwarts. Students were getting attacked, one of them being his own son, Hugo Weasley. And now here he was sitting in the Auror’s office looking over the paperwork that had been laid on his desk that morning. He really didn’t want to go over the paperwork; he wanted to figure out who it was at Hogwarts that was attacking the students. Sighing softly he picked up his quill and began filling out the paperwork. He kind of hoped that Harry would pull him aside so that the two of them could figure out what was going on, that had to be more important than whatever paperwork he had at hand.

When did life have to get so complicated again? To be fair, things hadn’t exactly been simple when Harry was a student at Hogwarts with Ron and Hermione, but after Voldemort’s defeat things had settled down. They’d all gotten married, raised kids, and gotten used to simple lives where you didn’t need to hide out in the woods in a tent with fifty protective charms surrounding your ‘home’. Things had been rather calm all through their children’s schooling thusfar, other than a broken bone here or there by a kid or two, until now.
Maybe he was just overreacting. One big attack… one ‘schoolyard’ bully preying on the weaker fifth year Gryffindor… it could mean nothing at all. Maybe Hugo provoked someone, and just couldn’t remember it, but the entire incident made him more than uneasy. The memory charm was a powerful spell, no easy feat for any school aged student to pull off as successfully as they had, and what student would really use it just to cover up a simple bully fight? There was more malice in the attack than that. That was what Harry’s gut told him… he tended to trust his gut. Afterwards had come a few other attacks, too, only strengthening Harry’s opinion that something was going on at the school, at the very least a bunch of angry teenagers out with a vengeance.
He sat in his office, bent over stacks of papers that needed his attention and signature, trying to focus, but couldn’t. He’d get through one or two papers, one or two cases, and then would lose his focus entirely and find himself reflecting back on Hogwarts and the goings on. He’d managed to go through about ten papers before he gave up, sighing, and practically shoved all papers to the side of his desk to reveal the wood beneath. He wasn’t going to get anything done today… not now, anyway. But he couldn’t just sit here twiddling thumbs in silence, either, that went without saying.
Rising from his chair Harry stepped out of his office, making his way to the desk of someone else he figured wouldn’t be able to do much work lately, either. No doubt Ron was even more unfocused than Harry, seeing as his own son had been one of those attacked. “Ron? Want to take a break in my office?"

Ron was tapping his quick on the empty piece of parchment before him, causing ink blots to spatter here and there on the parchment. He knew he couldn’t hand this one in and would have to rewrite it, but honestly he didn’t care at the moment. He as more worried about his son and often enough, people said it showed on the man’s face that he’s been worried about his children. He didn’t want to go through this like his parents had to back when he was in school, but he completely understood how they felt at the time. “ Ron? Want to take a break in my office?” Ron looked up from the parchment, into the green eyes of his best friend. He managed to force a small smile, glad Harry had asked him to take a break in the office. It was exactly what he needed, a break from the useless work before him. “That sounds like an excellent idea,
” he said casually as he placed his quill down on his desk. Ron got up from his desk, and headed out of his cubicle, ignoring any of the other Aurors that looked up to see what was going on. They should be used to Ron always going to Harry’s office by now. After all, the two of them had been best mates since the day they met on the Hogwarts Express. Quietly though, he made his way into Harry’s office and took a seat that was across from Harry’s desk and waited for Harry to sit back down. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

theres a thunder in our hearts baby so much hate for the ones we love TAG: NAME OUTFIT: HERE ONE LAST THING: NOTES.
harry was well aware of the eyes that fell on him as he approached ron and the latter followed him away. being the head auror he turned heads o matter what he did, grown men were just as capable of 'gossip' as teenage girls were if they got a good enough tidbit of information to share with everyone else. should he have the conversation he wanted to have with ron out in public, surrounded by other aurors, no doubt the entire ministry of magic would know every last detail of the conversation by noon. benefits of being the 'big man' as some people referred to their bosses as, however? a private office. everyone knew about the attack at hogwarts, of course, but it wasn't the sort of thing that harry wanted to just gossip about where everyone could hear. let everyone think about it privately, the whole world did not need to know his and ron's opinions on hugo's 'accident'.
it wasn't like he wasn't used to eyes being on him. he'd been introduced to that aspect of things in his first day at hogwarts when the whispers had spread around the great hall as soon as his name was called out. there had been little peace until people started to know him better, and then at least if they did stare they had the decency to hide it. and then after voldemort's death, again, he'd been thrust into the limelight for quite a while (which he supposed was understandable, but no less annoying at times). being 'used' to something never made you appreciative of it, though. there were many times when harry would be much happier with everyone oblivious of who he was, whether they considered him 'the boy who lived' or the head auror.
following ron he firmly shut the door behind them, not satisfied until he heard the 'click' of it locking in place, and then moved round to his desk where he sat in his chair, facing ron. no doubt his friend could tell what was on his mind and had similar things on his, "has he remembered anything?" tell me that we both matter dont we

“has he remembered anything? Ronald frowned slightly as soon as Harry had spoken the question he wish he had a different answer to. He really did wish his son had remembered what was happening to him, but it seemed that there really wasn’t anyways to break through the memory spell that was on Hugo. “I wish he had remember at least something small that could help us greatly, but it seems he’s still at a loss…
” Ron sighed softly as he sat in one of the leather chairs that was in Harry’s office. He still remembered the day he had found out that his only son had been attacked at Hogwarts. How much he worried for his son’s safety as well as his daughter, whom he was afraid that might one day be attacked as well. He was sure that Harry worried about his three kids as well, heck what parent wouldn’t worry about their kids when a place they thought was safe once more turns out that it might not be. If only there was some sort of lead that could help them. But it seemed that all the staff were checking out when it came to this and for it to be a student, why would a student even consider trying something like this. “ But at least he’s doing better, despite his memory. But then again, he hasn’t been able to find Hooper…” Ron also remembered the day him and Hermione had gotten Hugo Hooper. Really, Ron had tried to convince him of another pet, but it had seemed that Hugo was set on owning a toad. But he loved that toad to pieces, and now to have it taken away he was sure Hugo was quite sad about it. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

if hugo had just been roughed up a little bit, well, then harry wouldn't be as concerned. of course, that would suck too, there was little excuse for violence, but when you piled hundreds of hormonal angry teenagers together in the walls of a castle fights were bound to break out. what concerned him was the spell... the lack of memory. it took a powerful wizard to cast obliviate and to have it stick. teenagers could try it, sure, but the spell would either only work for a little while (which was what harry was still hoping for in hugo's case), or go horribly wrong and induce brain damage on the victim (something which thankfully hadn't occured). if there was a student at hogwarts able to use a memory charm against another student successfully... they were a force that needed to be discovered as soon as possible.
“i wish he had remember at least something small that could help us greatly, but it seems he’s still at a loss…” "maybe... maybe some more time will do it." it was all they could hope for, really. everything else led to dead ends, and harry didn't want any more students to get hurt just so that they could catch the person who'd done this to his nephew.
“but at least he’s doing better, despite his memory. but then again, he hasn’t been able to find hooper…” at first harry had thought that the toad might have just hopped away from the attack, perhaps frightened by the fight going on, but if he wasn't found by now... well, hogwarts was a very large school, but there were students roaming the halls all the time. by now the pet should have been found and returned safely to hugo's grasp. "do you think whoever attacked him has his pet?" of course, he was probably just voicing thoughts that had run through his best friend's head at one point or another, but it never hurt to get such thoughts out on the table. brainstorming was never a bad thing. "but that'd be petty... just simple bully stuff. i don't think this is a simple bully." tell me that we both matter dont we

“maybe... maybe some more time will do it.” Ronald nodded his head, really he wished his son could remember it. He knew that many people at the school were constantly asking Hugo if he remembered anything, but it seemed that he never did, and he was sure that Hugo was getting annoyed by the constant asking. If only there was some way that he could help his son, but he knew that it would just take time, at least he hoped one day his son could remember.
“do you think whoever attacked him has his pet” the red head thought for a moment. It was a possibility, but who would want anything to do with a Toad? He know that many people that would even want a toad. Honestly, he was surprised as well that Hugo wanted a toad when they took him to the pet shop right before he got onto the Hogwarts express for the very first time.
“but that'd be petty... just simple bully stuff. i don't think this is a simple bully.” Ron looked up at Harry, he did have a point. That would be petty, and it honestly didn’t seem like it was simple bully stuff. “No it seems more… Because if it was simple, his memory would never have gotten wiped…” he sighed softly. This was something more, he could just feel it. But really, they couldn’t do much until something happened again, and well it wasn’t like they wanted something to happen again… it just seemed to be their only option.
