Hogsmeade trips were something of a privilege not solely because it was a chance to get out of the castle and indulge in childish antics in a different setting, but because it was a chance for Anneliese to break away from the constant pressure to be perfect. When it came to her family appearances were everything. She was to always be on her best behavior, nothing was more important than school and being seen as a positive member of society. But while at Hogsmeade things were calmer, so to speak. It was refreshing.
As she meandered through the busy streets doing her best not to be jostled by the crowd, Anneliese made her way to the iconic tea shop fancying herself a lovely lemon and ginger blend. She was fond of the atmosphere, not because of that sense of adoration and love that loomed in the air but because it was quiet and peaceful. Anneliese wasn't opposed to The Three Broomsticks or The Hog's Head, but she preferred the less rowdy crowd at Madame Paddifoot's. Stepping through the door, a musical chime of a bell sounding her entrance, she wasn't surprised to see the establishment packed with couples. It was so close approaching to Valentine's Day after all.
Anneliese took one of the very few empty tables, ordered her tea, and took out a book to enjoy while she waited. Muggle things were not encouraged by her parents but they weren't shunned either. They preferred their children to be cultured and muggle literature could do just that. She was half way through her worn copy of Julius Caesar, having been read so many times that the spine was creased lovingly and the front cover had a few of the letters worn. But just because something wasn't necessarily appealing to the eye didn't mean it wasn't still cherished by Anneliese.
