It was stupid and she was starting to wonder if she should have thought it through. Well thought it through more than suddenly just jumping out of the couch in the common room with a so called brilliant idea then waisting no time getting some normal clothes on and rushing to the forest. It would be dark in an hour or so and she was already a good hour and a half walk into the forest. It was already looking like a bad idea and she hadn't even found the person she was looking for.
She was out there for a reason and it was to track down one specific person that she knew would be around the school, well at least she hoped her senses were not tricking her at this point. She wasn't worried about the forest knowing that she had spent many nights amongst its trees. She felt safe here strangely enough. As for that moment there was no trace of fear just energy. Why hadn't she thought about this before? Well it was dangerous considering she was about to confront the one person she would end up going against later. The Alpha. She had her own pans of becoming an alpha and none included sharing power but she craved knowledge more than anything at that moment.
Alaya was trying to track down Fenrir Greyback. Not the best choices if the rumors about him were correct. He did sound like her own father but she knew how to handle people like that. She was a young werewolf seeking power and wanted to learn from the one werewolf who had just that, power. He was the Alpha even if not all werewolves followed him. She wanted to know his goals, how he stayed in power, and most importantly what it took to remain in power. All of that without giving up any of her inner secrets and also without putting her own friends in danger. Dying on the other hand didn't bother her.
It was cold and the smells of the forest were strong. The wind shifted and Alaya stopped where she was, in the middle of nowhere. She was much further into the forest than she had previously intended and now she had lost the small trace she was following. She was wondering if she should just turn back when it started to snow. The wind picked up a bit and she was glad for the clip in her hair that kept it out of her face. Her wand was safe in the side of her shoe hidden under her jeans. She was ready for anything. She just hoped she wouldn't be going back to the school without achieving at least a meeting if not more.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] You're gonna catch a cold From the ice inside your soul The Words: 540 The Tagged: alaya The Notes just letting you know your post's text/font sizing is a little small to read The forest was eerie when the day neared twilight. It was as if everything stopped and waited for the last of the sun's rays to leave this part of the earth for the night. Many creatures would be stirring in their homes, but wouldn’t emerge until after dark. Those that were roaming the forest seemed to always do so quietly, even he moved as stealthily as possible. The forest had become a second home to him, even when he was just a mere student at Hogwarts, the forest was always his safe haven, his lifeline to the earth. His wolf loved it even more, loved the feet of the ground underneath its feet, the whipping of low hanging tree branches and leaves as he ran past. Even the weird and wonderful scents that were found in this place, he enjoyed. The creatures that lived among this forest didn’t stop to watch him, they too seemed at peace with him being there, well at least when he was in human form.
What was the old werewolf doing in the forbidden forest one might ask, simple. Not only was he wanting to keep an eye on his loyal children and speak to them if they ventured out here later in the night, but Jasper was still being stubborn. The full moon was less than 2 weeks away and the boy still had yet to seek him out. Oh but he would, there was no doubt there, all he had to do was sit and wait patiently, even though he hated it. The wind picked up and brought a scent his way. It was unmistakably a werewolf, but one he had yet to encounter. He took a deep breath, inhaling the scent. Who was roaming in his forest, he wondered as he abandoned his path towards the tree lines of the forest and entered the more dense part of the forest.
He was curious as to why another werewolf would be out here when the full moon was so far away. Had Seyton sent this person into the forest to try and deter him from his goals, ha like that could ever happen. Looking up, he saw a low hanging branch, one that looked strong enough to hold his weight. Jumping up he swung from it for a moment before hoisting himself up onto it. Ha old man his arse he thought. He may have been greying a little more, but inside he still felt young at heart, like he could take the world in his hands and crush it if he wished to. Searching for another branch, he jumped to it and from then on, he was jumping from tree to tree, wondering if whoever it was would have sense to look up. Probably not, predators never did need to worry about what was above, and werewolves were certainly up the top of that chain. There would have been no reason for whomever it was to look up. He stopped when he heard a noise that was not that of the usual creatures in the forest. He craned his head and peered down. A girl, just a mere girl, he thought as he sat himself on a branch, looking down at her. |

Or seemed to slow down as the sun crept closer to the earth to allow the night to engulf the land. Peace made it easer for the young werewolf to pick up on little sounds. A mouse running back to its home, some birds taking flight in the distance. The sound of someone swinging onto a tree branch. It was so faint Alaya had to think about it to figure if she really did hear something. She wanted to turn and look up but at the same time she wasn't sure if she should.
Werewolves never looked up, even she had her pride. She wasn't one to claim werewolves as top of the food chain even though when it came to the forest they were most of the time. Not many creatures would dare attack a pack. Some might attack a rouge but even then a rouge could be even more dangerous than a pack member. Why should she start looking up now? She was aiming to become an alpha some day soon and she never looked up to anyone in the past, so why start?
Alaya wasn't going to put up an act. If she did then her chances of gaining what she came here for would be immediately wiped out and she might not make it back, at least without a few scrapes and such. She grinned slightly. "It is polite to greet someone face to face, not by making them strain their neck to look at you" Her voice was strong and confidant. She did not turn to look at where the person was. No, she was going to hit a chord early on. Hopefully it was more of a curiosity chord, not an anger one.
She did not regret being there, and in all honesty she was glad. It had been a while since she faced an older werewolf in her human form and she did like being around her own kind. It was true that she did not want the bite at the beginning but there wasn't much she could do about that. So why not use it to her advantage, for almost eleven years she had been doing just that. It was now time to see if all of that waiting was worth it.

"It is polite to greet someone face to face, not by making them strain their neck to look at you" He was tempted not to reply, to let her think she was going crazy hearing things. He sat still, observing her. She carried herself well, but she was something that he didnt know of. A new werewolf that was trying to seek him out perhaps. Or was it that she somehow managed to fly under the radar all the time by hiding in the open. If so, it was a good strategy. To make everyone believe that she were a normal human. If he didnt have such a huge reputation, he would have adopted that strategy himself.
He tilted his head as he studied her, he couldnt put a face to the name, but nevertheless it wouldnt take long for her to tell him if he wanted her to. Waiting a couple of minutes, he decided he might as well speak, he was curious about the girl. "Have you not heard, I don't have a polite bone in my body, little werewolf," he called down to her. If she were trying to keep her status a secret, it surely would fail eventually. He knew that all too well. It took him years to perfect the art of hiding and now if he didnt want to be found, there would be no trace of him, including scent. She obviously had been doing well so far, none of his children had told him of her. "I assume you are looking for me," well ok he didnt assume, he was only guessing, but then what would a werewolf be doing in the forest at this time, looking as if she were searching for someone.
Well now this would be a bit difficult for her if they were to carry on the conversation, him up in a tree and her on the ground. Sighing he swung his legs over the branch and dropped down, landing in a crouch a few good feet away from her. "Do you have a name or shall i keep calling you little werewolf?" he asked. |

If anything she was a bit revealed that he answered. Alaya knew there was a chance that, one he wouldn't answer, or two there really wasn't anyone there. She chuckled slightly at his comment. "We can pretend, now can't we" She stated with a very sly tone to her voice. First impressions were important, and she wanted to make a memorable one. She wasn't going to leave here without making something of her self in the other werewolf's eyes. She wasn't shocked that he called her little werewolf. It meant that he didn't know of her which was a very good thing, also if she wanted to hide what she was she wouldn't be there. She hid it from her family but she figured that Fenrir was, well, better at picking out his own kind than her father and the rest of her werewolf family.
"You assume correctly, then again why else would I be out here?" She knew she could not anger this one but that didn't mean she had to put up an act. It was best to just be who she was and sly was defiantly one aspect of her personality. She didn't budge or change her position when he landed on the ground a decent distance from her. It was easy to see how he received his reputation. He might he graying but he still gave off the air of being very powerful. She would have to wait a while to even try to fight him. She was strong and might live but wining was another thing, not that she wanted that, at least not now.
"Well you can call me whatever you like. I do ask that you keep this and any meeting between us just between us. I do like people not know what I am, at least for the time being" She needed to make her position very clear. There was no room for slip ups just yet not when there was so much riding on her having the upper hand. "My name is Alaya, Alaya Tiaun. It is nice to finally meet you Mr. Fenrir Greyback" She stated nodding her head in respect toward the alpha.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] You're gonna catch a cold From the ice inside your soul The Words: 525 The Tagged: Alaya The Notes n/a Him pretending to be nice, ha that was so not going to happen. He liked his bad reputation too much to tarnish it with being nice to those he didnt know. In fact the only one he was nice to was Ana and his loyal children, to family really, everyone else was just an expendable minion, an ally for him to use to achieve his ideal world.
"You assume correctly, then again why else would I be out here?" Why else would she be out here, oh he could think of many things: hunting, wanting alone time, meeting up with some mysterious lover, the list simply went on. He smirked, flashing her a toothy grin. Yes no one in their right mind would venture in here unless they were asking for trouble or seeking him out. He stood straighter, squared his shoulders more, one did not get his reputation just for slouching over and whimpering. No he was no whimpering wolf; that title belonged to Seyton and him alone. The wolf on her was stronger now that he was at ground level with her. A full werewolf, he guessed, but didnt voice. If anyone had the slightest trace of werewolf in them, he would certainly smell it out. She could potentially become another ally for him, another pawn to move in his game of chess.
"Well you can call me whatever you like. I do ask that you keep this and any meeting between us just between us. I do like people not know what I am, at least for the time being" He shook his head as he circled her, taking in her physique. It angered him to great lengths that one such as herself wanted to hide who she was. This was not the time to hide; no this was the time to announce who the werewolves were and what they stood for. "You disappoint me little werewolf," he chided her, "To hide the very being of who you are, you bring disgrace upon the werewolf name. I bet your wolf is ashamed of you hiding her from everyone." Really any werewolf that did not announce that they were one to the public could simply die. It told him that they were not proud of who and what they were, and that they valued the witches and wizards, those that put themselves up top of the hierarchical chain, more than their own kind. it was simply not on.
"My name is Alaya, Alaya Tiaun. It is nice to finally meet you Mr. Fenrir Greyback" Finally the little werewolf gave him her name and was respectful in doing so. Although he admired her respect, there was certainly work needed to be done with her, she needed to embrace who she was without caring who knew. "And what does the little werewolf want with me if she intends to keep herself hidden from the world?" he asked curiously. She couldnt have sought him out just to announce who she was or to simply say hello, no she had a hidden agenda and it was only a matter of time before he got her to spill. |

Story of her younger years but it didn't phase her. His reaction to her request was natural but misplaced. She was proud of what she was and nothing was going to rid her of that pride. She couldn't deny she was hiding, and she often told herself that it didn't matter if people found out but she knew that if her family knew now it would limit her chances of taking over her family pack and she wanted that power. To be an alpha and surpass her father was something she was determined to do now and nothing was going to stop her, especially not an old man.
Alaya grinned knowing exactly what to say. "Isn't it easier to hunt something that doesn't know what you are?" She asked slyly. She was going to make this conversation interesting to say the least. She wanted this werewolf's respect and knew it was going to take much to get it. She needed and ally at this point in time. That did not mean that she would keep it. She wasn't one to share power and she knew very well that he would never share. He might be old but he was strong and if she could match him then none of his underlings would be able to oppose her. "I don't enjoy hiding by any stretch of the imagination. But for the time being it is a necessitate. And for the record my wolf and I are one in the same" Being fully at one with yourself was a huge key in controlling every aspect of ones being. That is something that Alaya was getting down to an art. His next statement made her silent for a moment. How does she answer that question? She didn't want to tell him everything right off the bat but she also didn't want him to think she was hiding things from him. Which she would be anyway but she needed him to think that she was. It was a bit complicated.
"I guess a friendly chat isn't a good enough answer?" She was only teasing at that statement. "To tell the truth I have been meaning to talk with you, just for the opportunity to talk to an older werewolf. The others at the school, no offense to your children, but they really aren't worth my time. Not the mention the oldest is a weakling. It is rough being a rouge so it is nice to talk with a full fledge werewolf every now and then" It wasn't a lie, it was the reason she was hear. It wasn't necessarily a simple chat but she needed him to not consider her a threat. That was step one.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] You're gonna catch a cold From the ice inside your soul The Words: 425 The Tagged: alaya The Notesn/a "Isn't it easier to hunt something that doesn't know what you are?" If that had been said to any other werewolf, they would most likely have agreed with her, he however thought differently. "Ah but its the fear that starts the hunt. If people and creatures knew what you are, you'd smell their fear from a mile away and initiate the hunt, makes the meat taste all the more sweeter," he licked his lips, his eyes dancing wildly, "the surprise attack as you have suggested is simply a cowardly one that will only work a couple of times." He had done the whole surprise attack before and well it didnt really live up to his expectations.
A necessity to hide who you were, it was bullshit. And to say she didnt like hiding either, he wasnt buying it. She'd have to do better if she wanted him to help. And then she contradicted him saying she was one with the wolf. Well if her wolf liked hiding then she was a dead wolf in his eyes. No werewolf she ever hide their true self, no werewolf should cower in fear. Vampires had their time being at the top of the food chain, humans had long overstayed their number one spot, it was the time for werewolves and damn it if other werewolves didnt see eye to eye with that or wanted to remain hidden, he'd have no problem killing them.
He growled at her teasing question, she was beginning to push her luck around him. A friendly chat was something he didnt do, well at least to those that werent close to him or werent family. He just did not do friendly. When his dreams were achieved then yes perhaps he could try his hand at the whole nice and friendly thing but not a moment sooner.
"To tell the truth I have been meaning to talk with you, just for the opportunity to talk to an older werewolf. The others at the school, no offense to your children, but they really aren't worth my time. Not the mention the oldest is a weakling. It is rough being a rouge so it is nice to talk with a full fledge werewolf every now and then" For her to say Seyton was a weakling was well thrilling. She had earnt a little respect in his eyes, she didnt buy into Seyton's whole pity story. Good, she'd be a useful minion to him. "And just what exactly did you want to talk to me about?" he asked |
