A lot of things have been on Albus’s mind lately. There was the whole Tournament going on that he’d been watching Theia and Scorp prepare for. There was Quidditch practices and they had their first match about a month ago, where Slytherin won their match against Gryffindor and it did feel really nice to catch the snitch right in front of James when he was going after it as well. Then there was the attack that happened on Hugo, and the one that happened on Theia. But he wasn’t thinking about any of those things that Saturday morning. He also wasn’t out running around the lake like he usually did; no instead he had planned to meet his little sister Lily up at the Owlery. It was something the two of them every once in a while. With them being in different houses and years, they didn’t get to see a whole lot of each other. Plus it seemed people were less likely to stumble upon the two younger potter kids.
Al was walking up the stairs to the Owlery, a cup of hot chocolate in his left hand and a letter for Teddy in his pocket. It was often that Al and Teddy would owl each other and he figured that while he was waiting for Lily to show that he could tie a letter to Hedwig the Second’s leg for her to deliver to Teddy. He quick ran a hand through his messy jet black hair, messing it up even more as he always did. He wore his green sweater and dark blue jeans, the outfit most saw him in on the weekends as that’s what he felt most comfortable in when he didn’t have to wear his robes. He sighed softly as he reached the top of the stairs pulling out his letter to Teddy as he did so and instantly Hedwig the Second showed up in front of him knowing what she would have to do.
The letter to Teddy contained what had been on his mind lately. He sat his hot chocolate down just before Hedwig landed on his arm. As he tied the letter to Hedwig the Second’s leg he thought back to the night of the Masquerade ball where he had kissed Theia, not just once, but twice. But once their masks came off and they realized who they kissed, she ran. Not even Albus could stop her and he felt a bit crushed, like he just ruined his relationship with his best friend. But he still didn’t understand why she ran, he knew that Theia could feel the sparks he was feeling as they both kissed, so why run? “Girls are just too confusing Hedwig,
” he sighed softly as he finished tying the to her leg. “ Make sure that’s gets to Teddy safe and sound,” he smiled at her before digging into his pocket and pulling out a treat for her to eat. She may have been the family owl, but she was always at Hogwarts whenever she felt that one of the Potter kids needed her to deliver a letter. She ate it happily before flying off and out of the Owlery, picking up his hot chocolate he went over to the window and laid his head on ledge as he watched Hedwig the Second fly on out into the rising sun. please , PLEASE, FORGIVE ME, BUT I WON'T BE HOME AGAIN. MAYBE SOMEDAY YOU'LL LOOK UP, AND BARELY CONSCIOUS, YOU'LL SAY TO NO ONE, "ISN'T SOMETHING MISSING?" YOU WON'T CRY FOR MY ABSENCE, I KNOW. YOU FORGOT ME LONG AGO. AM I SO UNIMPORTANT? AM I SO INSIGNIFICANT? ISN'T SOMETHING MISSING...? ISN'T SOMEONE . . . missing me? in the hustle and bustle of hogwarts, with getting back into the swing of school and getting caught up in quidditch and clubs and the infamous tournament that was unfortunately on everyone's minds these days, it was easy to lose track of your friends and family. lily had certainly fallen victim to it, though she wasn't blameless of her recent disconnect from her brothers especially. well, moreso james than albus... he was the one she had the deepest... regret, perhaps(?) of. no, that wasn't the right word, but he was the one she didn't want to be around the most since his 'amazing' rise to fame as a gryffindor champion. it made her sick sometimes. and through it all, while he was regarded as a hero, there was the damned feud and tension that she knew still went one between each of her brothers. that she held against james moreso than albus... he was the elder, he should be the more mature one. albus had been distant from her in his own right, the sacred slytherin potter, friends with his little tight group of pals... but despite his quidditch status and relationship to their dad that way, she couldn't claim to have the same resentment towards al as she did james. that was why she continued to see albus now and then, whenever they arranged it, just to make sure that her youngest eldest brother was all right
it was sometimes a torture to wake up early on a saturday morning; the first day of the weekend, you should rightfully be sleeping in and relaxing. but al was worth it. much of her dormmates were still fast asleep in their comfy little four-poster beds as she got dressed in a light purple knitted sweater and comfortable black pants. unfortunately it was getting too cold lately to go for the shorts and t-shirt look that she had happily sported all summer... almost time to pull out the winter gear. kind of depressing if you thought about it, but then she had the summer and the baby wildlife to look forward to, so everything evened out in the end, really.
it didn't take her long to reach the owlery, her usual meeting place with her big little brother. the castle was completely peaceful this early in the morning, she passed a sixth year ravenclaw student, but didn't see another soul before she walked into the owlery and saw the lone soul there, occupied with the family's familiar owl. lily stayed in the doorway of the room, letting al have his last few minutes of peace with the creature. once it flew off she cleared her throat, smiling softly. "what's this about a girl, al?" she asked, teasing. "you know, i've gotta approve of any future sister-in-law, right?"

Not long after Hedwig had disappeared out into the rising sun Albus heard the voice of his little sister, the person he had been waiting for. “what's this about a girl, al?” at the moment he didn’t answer, still gazing out into the rising sun as if expecting Hedwig to come back so quickly with a letter from Teddy. “you know, i've gotta approve of any future sister-in-law, right?” Albus couldn’t help but let out a chuckle. If anyone should approve of anyone it should be Albus approving of any of the boys Lily plans on dating. But he wasn’t going to say that, he knew that she got annoyed by that easily.
He lifted his head off of the stone window sill before he turned to face his little sister, the one sibling he actually adored. He often wished that Lily had ended up in the same house as him instead of with James. He just didn’t trust James when it came to keeping an eye on her and making sure nothing bad happens to her, especially with the whole Ego show James had going on lately. “I think it’d be a bit early to think of marriage,
” he chuckled lightly before wrapping his arms around Lily and bringing her up into a hug. “ I miss you Lils, I wish I could see you all the time,” he said softly before kissing her on the cheek and then letting her down. Turning around just enough to grab his hot cocoa before facing his sister once more. “ And even if I were thinking that far ahead, I’m sure you’d approve of the girl that’s been giving me trouble lately,” he smiled at her and was pretty sure that Lily did like Theia, or at least he hoped she did. YOU FORGOT ME LONG AGO. AM I SO UNIMPORTANT? AM I SO INSIGNIFICANT? ISN'T SOMETHING MISSING...? ISN'T SOMEONE . . . missing me? “i think it’d be a bit early to think of marriage,” good boy, al, lily wanted to tease, with a small smirk passing over her lips even with the unspoken words. “i think mom and dad would agree,” she nodded slightly. she could only imagine, though it was a rather amusing thing to do, what her father or mother would say if she or either of her brothers, even james, suddenly announced they wanted to get married. she guessed that they wouldn’t be pleased. sure, they might all feel mature, but they were just kids, for pete’s sake! it wasn’t like they’d grown up in her father’s time; he and her mother lily could understand getting married earlier. all of the drama when they were younger must have made them grow old beyond their years. but quite happily lily and her siblings had grown up in an age free of such drama and stress, and lily was happy to enjoy her childhood while it lasted.
“i miss you lils, i wish i could see you all the time,” simply because of their houses, lily did tend to see james a hell of a lot more than she saw albus. it never really had sat well with her (should it sit well with anyone to be separated from their family like that?), but it especially didn’t lately when james seemed so damn insufferable to her… she loved her house, and didn’t wish she were in slytherin, but she did wish there was some way for her to interact with her youngest eldest more without them being in the same house. she’d never blamed albus for being in slytherin. the thought of doing so was insane. no family was so exactly alike that they could all fit perfectly into the same house together… certainly not the potters. “i miss you too, al…” she muttered softly, making her way over to the window and the amazing view that she often enjoyed from the owlery.
“and even if i were thinking that far ahead, i’m sure you’d approve of the girl that’s been giving me trouble lately,” it really wasn’t lily’s place to judge the girls who caught her brother’s attention… but she had to admit she did. she was the little sister, after all. especially when she was younger she had idolized her brothers, and she had very set ideas of who was and was not good enough for them. at the same time, it drove her absolutely insane when her brothers gave judgment on the few boys she’d been involved with, however short those relationships had been, and with herself starting to realize that a new boy had definitely caught her attention, she didn’t want to act like a brat and make al automatically set out to give hell to any potential future relationship she could have… “i dunno, al. isn’t it the little sister’s job to be critical of any girl her big brother is involved with? what’s she like?”

“i miss you too, al…” Albus smiled as Lily as she made her way over to the window. He went back over to the window as well, squeezing himself in the frame next to her, not that it was hard to do seeing as it was a pretty big window. And then he took a drink of his hot cocoa before laying his head on the window sill once more. “big brother is involved with? what’s she like?” For a moment ALbus looked over at his little sister. How was one to describe Thiea? She was such a complex person at times after all, especially right now with how she kept right on avoiding him. “Well…
” he said as he put his pointer figure on his chin and looked up into the sky as the sun continued to rise. “ Well I guess you could say she’s quite ambitious, but then again she is a Slytherin, but she does have parent issues kind of like us and she’s a rather straight forward person, at least she was lately she’s just been avoiding me…” he sighed softly before laying his head back down on the window sill. Why did Theia have to give him such a hard time right now? He really wished that he could make her see the truth instead of hiding behind those beautiful chocolate brown curls of hers. “ But it is someone you know, sis. She’s been to our place and the Hovel quite often…” he smiled lightly wondering if perhaps Lily could figure out who he was talking about. He was sure that she’d be able to, after all, his sister was a very clever girl. (( Sorry about it being kinda short and crappy. >.< )) [/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

please , PLEASE, FORGIVE ME, BUT I WON'T BE HOME AGAIN. ISN'T SOMEONE . . . missing me? siblings were supposed to be involved in each other's lives. lily understood that. families in general were supposed to protect, look after, and keep safe the other members of their family. the littlest potter was stuck in between wanting a family more like that, more united and close knit in the ways she felt they should be, and being the opposite in the ways of giving each other space. she didn't like being smothered, by parents or brothers, as much as she often craved attention. she knew that james and albus were likely the same way in the 'not wanting to be smothered' sense. james didn't have to worry about lily smothering him. she probably couldn't fit in among his flock of admirers craning for a glimpse of harry potter's precious firstborn, but al... she missed him. she was worried about him. despite her dislike of being smothered by family herself, she'd likely gain a tendency to do so to her slytherin brother.
she didn't know why, but the thought of al with a girl, as in in a relationship, was just... weird. not that she was trying to question his sexuality or anything, but al... he seemed too good for a girlfriend. typical big brother worship, lily assumed, but still true. whoever the hell this girl was she would have to be damn good for lily to admit she might be a good enough match for the gryffindor's big brother.
“Well… Well I guess you could say she’s quite ambitious, but then again she is a Slytherin, but she does have parent issues kind of like us and she’s a rather straight forward person, at least she was lately she’s just been avoiding me…” this was one of the things that sucked about being in a different house from her brother, especially one whose house was the rival to her house. she ran in different crowds, mixed with completely different people... other than al's close friends she didn't really know anyone his age in slytherin, who she assumed would be the group where his crush would exist. even with the bounty of information he gave her about this mysterious girl, lily was just as clueless as ever as to who she might be.
“But it is someone you know, sis. She’s been to our place and the Hovel quite often…” with that sentence it clicked in for the younger potter, her eyes lighting up with the realization. "al, don't tell me you're crushing on theresa..." she teased with a small grinning smirk. she wasn't being disapproving in any way, more amused that this had happened. proof of the theory that guys and girls could not remain 'just friends' for as long as al had been close with the slytherin champion. Leave it to his sister to figure out who right off the bat. But apparently, it wasn’t that hard to figure out… At least that was how Scorp had made it sound. “That’s the girl,
|
” he said as he lifted his head off of the window sill. He shouldn’t be sulking, he should be figuring out a way to get Theia to realize that he was right for her! Despite the fact that she thought she wasn’t good enough. “ Apparently she doesn’t think she’s good enough for me…” he sighed softly as he turned around, leaning his back against the way as he looked on at the Owls. Did the owls worry about silly things like whether a certain owl liked them? He wasn’t sure how it worked when it came to them… But then again why would it matter to him? And why was he even thinking about this? He wasn’t sure. “ Sis, what do you think of Theia?” he asked lightly as he turned to look at his younger sister, the only sibling he was close with… Him and James, well it would probably always be that the two of them would never get along. But what could one do, right? [/div] tag: --- notes: template by eliza @ shadowplay
