It was time and Olivia couldn’t be even more thrilled to send out her little Salazar in hopes to get rid of those mudbloods who dare call themselves witches and wizards, and of course of those who side with them. Those filthy blood traitors needed to be gotten rid of as well. The only thing Muggleborns and muggles were good for is perhaps slavery of some sort. Yes, that’s what she’ll do with them in the future once she was ready to rule the wizarding world. But now, now was the time to get rid of the ones that thought they could come to Hogwarts and learn to do magic like they were everyone else.
“Oh little Salazar, are you ready to go out and play?
” she hissed excitedly as she closed her eyes hearing her serpent friend slither on out beside her. “ You know who I consider to be mudbloods and blood traitors. Go and find one them and look them in the eye,” she grinned widely as she heard Salazar his back saying he will do so and then she heard him slither away to the nearest pipe and off he was on the hunt for his first victim. Who would it be? Not even Olivia would know until the news reached out to the students and staff and she couldn’t wait to see the looks on the Professor’s faces when they wonder how could it be that this was happening again. She knew of the old story of how Harry Potter killed the last Basilisk, never would they think that someone would indeed breed a new one. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

humming a small tune to himself as he made his way up through his favorite hogwarts passageway from the kitchens, fred weasley had no a care in the world. classes were over for the day, he was blowing off his potions essay until later that evening, and he had a pretty awesome prank just waiting to be pulled. true, this prank had been on the waiting list for weeks now, but then lucas had had to go and get himself a girlfriend. since then his pranking buddy had been rather mia, and fred couldn't wait any longer for his aid in this feat.
not that fred really blamed lucas for preferring to spend time in the company of roxy finnigan... god knew that if he and joy were in the same hour and had such easy access to each other he would probably prefer the beautiful blonde's company to that of a six foot some hulking gryffindor guy. the opposite gender had some sort of charm that clumsy guys didn't seem to hold.
coming through the end of the passageway, near the room of requirement, fred set to work. from his pocket he pulled a simple device, far too familiar to himself and anyone related to the weasley family. hell, anyone who frequented weasley's wizard wheezes would probably recognize it as a portable swamp, a dastardly little device that fred had only had the pleasure of setting off once before in his career at hogwarts. that last set off had been accidental in a barely used corridor, so the backlash hadn't been bad... this one, however, promised to be far more exciting. he knew firsthand how often students used the room of requirement. wouldn't it be a nice surprise for the next happy couple to wander around for a bit of alone time in their own private paradise wander right into the middle of a swamp?
placing the device on the ground of the corridor, fred hopped backwards into the passageway whose bottom stood about a foot and a half above the ground. holding on to the edge, wanting to watch the 'show' from a safe place where he wouldn't get wet, the seventh year pointed his wand at the device and muttered a spell, causing a jolt of light to hit the device. instantly water started seeping out, filling the corridor and creeping down other halls. moss, dead leaves, and small trees spouted here or there, imitating the look (and smell) of a real swamp. fred couldn't help but grin, this was even better than he'd been expecting.

He had been named Salazar, after the original Slytherin Heir as his mistress, Olivia Montague, had told him. She had also told him of how there had been a Baslisk before him living in the depths of the school, but a ‘blood traitor’ as she called the man named Harry Potter, had killed the one before him. So she had decided to hatch him so that she could once again show the muggleborns and blood traitors that they don’t belong at Hogwarts. During the past month, ever since he was hatched, she had explained to him of the ‘filth’ as she called them that where running amok the school and that those students would be his target. And now, finally today after being in the chamber of secrets for one month, she had decided it was time for him to go out and find his first victim.
He nodded to Olivia before he quickly turned and headed to the nearest pipe in the chamber and he slithered along and begun his search. “Must kill… mudbloods and blood traitors must die…
” he hissed silently as he made his way through the pipes figuring out where he should go to begin his hunt. He made his way to the seventh floor of the castle and exited out of one of the pipes in the bathroom located on the floor. Carefully he looked around; quite glad he wasn’t full grown so he could easily hide if a bunch of people were to come by. He was quite glad to see that the bathroom itself was empty and soon he stuck his head out and saw what Olivia considered to be one of the targets. He did not know the boy’s name, nor did he care. All he knew was that he needed to look at the boy in his eyes. Softly he hissed as he slithered up behind the boy that was watching some sort of a swamp open up before his very eyes, and he could even see the reflection of the young boy’s face in swamp and he couldn’t wait to see the look on the boy’s face when he saw him. he could almost already hear the shrieks of surprise and ‘what the hell?!’ that might erupt from the mouths of unsuspecting students who happened across the swamp. that was always the best part of any prank… the reactions. with a few exceptions of uptight prefects, most of the students in the school could at least grin at his antics whenever they came about. hell, he’d even been congratulated a few times on some feats by professors at the school, especially those who might have grown up around the same time as his namesake and father. it wasn’t like he was actually harming anyone, it was just a little bit of a surprise that was easy to clean up if you knew the correct spells, which of course at least one person in the school did. all he needed to be done was to be asked and he would remove the swamp, once people had seen it, of course.
the trickling sound of the water spreading across the floor and rising in depth was all he was aware of until… there was a noise, behind him in the passageway. a loose rock, or something of the sort that might not have peaked is attention if he didn’t know how few knew about the passageway. seriously, what were the odds that someone would happen to be along the passageway, coming up from that direction, when he was poised in the entrance watching the swamp?
he blew off the noise, focusing on the swamp for another moment, until he heard it. a quiet, soft hiss from directly behind him. a snake, in hogwarts? transfiguration assignment gone wrong? fred was about to turn behind him and transfigure the slither back to whatever it was made of when he caught a sight of it in the reflection he was looking at. long, dark, far larger than he’d been expecting… and then the piercing yellow eyes. Shi- midway of turning around to face the creature when he saw the eyes, fred weasley toppled backwards a foot and a half down out of the passageway, landing hard on his back in the few inches of swamp water on the floor. the painting that signified the opening of the passageway waited for othe other inhabitant of the tunnel to disappear so that it could reappear, blocking off the entrance while fred weasley lay petrified, mouth straight, eyes frozen in a wide-eyed look of shock, staring unseeing at the ceiling.

Salazar was slithering closer to the boy, hoping to catch it off guard so that he would turn and see his death, but instead the young boy saw the refection of Salazar in the swamp and he fell over, petrified. But he knew that Lady Olivia would be just fine with the boy being petrified, it would still start to make all the mudbloods and blood traitors fear for their life as he knocked them down one by one.
And then Salazar turned and slithered away back into the bathroom and into the pipe he had exited earlier, before he headed on back down to his home, the Chamber of Secrets, glad to at least get one victim to fall to at least a petrifying state. Perhaps the next one he could actually kill off for his dear Lady Olivia, the one that brought him to his existence and whom he’s always be loyal to.
And soon he was back down in the Chamber of Secrets where his Lady awaited him. “Lady Olivia…
” he hissed softly. “ One of the boys on your list has been petrified,” he bowed his head lightly to her, even though she couldn’t see him as she had to keep her eyes closed around him. But he did enjoy the laugh that came from her mouth, that stated that she was victorious with her plan going so well so far. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Lucy shrugged her shoulders into a wool cardigan, preparing to go meet Chun on the seventh floor. The chinese girl had sent her an owl, asking to meet her there. She had written something about trying to bond with Lucy, since Lucy obviously had a dislike for the girl. Since day one they hadn't gotten along. She did find it somewhat weird that she wanted to get along all of a sudden, so just in case, Lucy shoved some black out powder in her pants pocket, so she could escape if needed. Slipping into some heals, she grabbed her wand and put it in her back pocket, leaving her dormitory. Humming on her way out, she ignored the glares from her fellow house mates, now immune to everything they said to her.
Beginning her accent to the top of the school, Lucy bobbed her head to a song. She'd just had the best night of her life with Dunstable, her new boyfriend. He was a muggleborn, which surprised even herself. Her cold heart had melted for this muggleborn boy. She smiled to herself, happy that she could say that she had a boyfriend. Dunstable had set up a private Yule Ball for them, since she didn't want Olivia to know about them. He was upset that night that he couldn't take her to the real ball, that he couldn't hold her hand without fear of Olivia's reaction. In truth Lucy had wanted to be in Olivia's gang for years. And after she got in, she met Dunstable. And everything changed.
Getting to the seventh floor, her extraordinary hearing helped her hear something slithering along the floors. Rolling her eyes, she thought it was just someone's pet that had gotten loose. Snakes were now allowed back to Hogwarts as pets, since the days of Voldemort were behind them now. Her heals clicked along the cobblestone corridor as she walked towards the room of requirement. Voices filled her head and ears all of a sudden, and she frowned. The voice was snakelike, almost like someone was speaking parsel tongue. Shrugging her shoulders, she just assumed that someone else was trying their hand at parsel tongue, so she kept walking. Stepping into a portable swamp, she crinkled her nose at the smell of it, knowing that it would get on her shoes.
Sliding around the corner, she saw a student, who was lying in the swamp. She gasped, realizing that she was too late. Walking over to the student, she recognized him as Fred Weasley. Taking a step back, she kicked the cauldron that held the portable swamp and almost tripped in the mess. Taking out her wand in case whoever attacked him came back, she said a few things in parsel tongue, just as a force of habit. Looking around, she tried to find a clue of who had done it, but couldn't. Shooting sparks down the halls, she hoped that they would find their way to a Professor on duty, so that they could come here. She didn't want to leave, in case someone came back to finish him off.

it was a first year who'd alerted her, running through the halls until he ran into her, likely the first professor he'd seen, to hurriedly blab his tiny mouth off about the growing 'puddle of water' on the seventh floor corridor. instantly recognizing the description for what it was, some prank being pulled by a student just for their own little laughs, evan thanked the little boy and sent him back on his way, running towards the hufflepuff commons room judging by the color of his outfit. evan, meanwhile, set off on a brisk pace down the halls through the castle towards the room of requirement where apparently the water was pooling. true, she had not been a student here, but after a few years teaching at the infamous school evan felt she knew its layout just as well as she'd known the secret corridors and passageways of beauxbatons as a child.
there was a spark of light up ahead, causing evan to break into a slight run. it didn't take long for her to hear the gentle sound of trickling water from an expanding portable swamp, but the scene before her when she turned the next corner was unlike what she'd expected. only the swamp was similar, everything else was... well, wrong.
"miss sanguini?" she questioned, moving forwards. suddenly the woman froze, looking at a figure on the ground, face up in the rising water. she recognized the student... a troublemaker in many classes, likely the one who had set off the swamp, but still a good young man... and there was something very wrong with him. evan's eyes narrowed as she approached him, looking down into the wide opened expressionless eyes. the professor let out a small gasp, whirling around to look at the slytherin girl. "headmaster's office. if you know what's smart you'll go immediately, because once i get this boy to the hospital wing, if i find you're not explaining this to professor kingsley, the consequences will be severe." and without much more explanation she turned back to fred, muttering a spell under her breath while pointing her wand at his petrified figure, lifting him into the air as she set off on a fast paced course to the hospital wing. someone else could deal with the swamp later.
(...crap post. i apologize.)
