Studying. It is considered a nightmore and a chore to a large majority of the student population, except perhaps the Ravenclaws. Like many Ravenclaws, Dante studied quite a bit. The habit to study with such ferocity originated from his early childhood at which point in time his parents had instilled its necessity into him with great success. From that, he learned that studying equated to success in a large degree. However, unlike some of his Ravenclaw peers, Dante enjoyed reading, learning and studying for fun at times. Now in the middle of his seventh year, at this point, the Ravenclaw knows no other way of life. To him, there was an intrinsic joy in it, or at least for some of the topics. The Ravenclaw has a distaste for the more mundane topics and a liking for the complex and mysterious topics. So there he sat in the library with a neat pile of books next to him. He had also been taught from a young age to keep his things neat and organized. It was evidently a lesson that he Dante had long ago finished his homework and had proceeded onto much more interesting topics.
At first glance, it may seem that Dante was focusing on the book he was currently studying. However on further inspection, it is quite evident that this is not quite so by the fact that he has been staring at the same page for several long minutes now. For anybody who knows Dante, they would know that the Ravenclaw was a quick reader. And for him to linger on a single page without the intention of a specific studying topic was simply absurd. If the Ravenclaw were to see himself, he would be quite horrified of the idea that he was staring stupidly at some page as if it could solve all his problems in the world.
The school year thus far has been odd for him to say the least. Ever since the beginning of the year, his fiancee has been constantly busy. Now, as a studious student, Dante could perfectly understand the need the need to focus on one’s studies, especially now that they were in their last year of study. It was very important that they do well this year so that they may do well in their N.E.W.Ts and receive a job in the real world outside of Hogwarts. However, he couldn’t exactly put his finger on it but there was something about the situation that seemed entirely odd to him. It wasn’t just that she was distant. It hardly mattered that she was distant; they were engaged to be married after all, like it or not. Although Dante would prefer it that she wanted to be married to him. He hardly thought of himself as a troll or a particularly abhorrent person to marry for their family’s convenience.
And there was the girl in the choir club classroom. She was strangely enchanting. He had every intention of remaining loyal to his Olivia; after all, it was a perfectly innocent meet-up. But the conundrum disappeared soon after as soon after meeting her, Dante never did manage to find her again to show her his violin skills as promised. He didn’t particularly like the idea that he was such a pariah. He was simply having the worst luck with women apparently.
As his thoughts wandered, Dante failed to notice an individual steadily approaching his currently empty table.
