She wasn't accomplishing enough, or at least that was what the latest letter from her father had so eloquently impressed upon her. For someone like Maharet who had been taught that her father and Fenrir's approval was to be craved like an addictive drug, it wasn't pleasing news to receive. In fact it made Maggie quite cranky as she sauntered down the corridor with every intention of going straight up to her dorm room and sulk on her bed, and by sulk she of course meant that she would set her mind to figuring out ways to speed along all of her schemes. It wasn't that Maharet wasn't doing enough, her plate was full, it was that the tasks she went for typically took time, they were processes and she was the one to generally get favourable results when all others failed because she was so very adaptable.
Her biggest priority at the moment was Seyton. Fenrir had reached that point where he was willing to give up on his eldest son tossing it up to a lost cause and was willing to simply kill him. In Merlin's honest truth Maharet didn't want that. Those deviously twisted morals of hers might not have been all that kosher but Maggie did still have some feelings and keeping the people that made her happy alive was basic instinct.
She didn't have time to put on that friendly smile and pretend to be nice and wholesome to those that she passed. Her pace was quick and held purpose which could so easily be mistake for anything and everything that it wasn't and that suited her. Maggie was glad to give off the illusion that she had some where important to be or that she was just having a bad day, and it seemed to be working in keeping people from trying to stop her to have some idle chat that she didn't care for. At least it had for a while. Maharet made it all the way from the owlery to the first floor corridor without any hitches, but all good things came to an end. Some people used subtleties and others, like the person that made it a point to come in front of her to grab her attention didn't. Taking a deep breath, calming her irritation, she forced a smile.

Hector ran a hand through his hair, letting its shaggy ends fall down into his eyes. He was so tired lately. It wasn't because of reasons like last time, where he was under stress from a fight and his crazy ex lover. Walking quietly down the halls, he ignored the pointed stares in his direction. Basically everyone now knew that he was a werewolf. Might as well accept it. Shoving his hands in his pockets, he slouched against the stares. They were unnerving. Removing one hand from his jacket, he popped his collar to hide his face a little more. Scowling he jogged from the great hall and towards the first floor. He was done with Hogwarts. As soon as he graduated he wasn’t coming back. He was going to go off and start his own pack, that much he knew. As for other plans, he wasn’t entirely sure of what he wanted to do with the rest of his life. He didn’t think that many people would want their kids around a werewolf, therefore some sort of teaching job or working in Diagon Alley was out of the question. Perhaps one day he could work at the Ministry. Not paying attention to where he was going, he bumped into another student and back up, a light tone on his voice as he started to apologize. Then he saw who it was. ”Good lord,” he said under his breath, his hackles almost bristling.

Her smile almost faltered, but appearances were appearances and based on Hector's it was definitely something to smile about. In fact his distraught state made her giggle on the inside. For all the supposed pain she had been cause of in his life at least she had proven a wonderful distraction as well. Now if that tiresome expression etched into his features was to be believed Hector didn't have any outlet to speak of. Maharet hadn't bothered to keep tabs on him, no need to really, and every time they were scheduled to have rounds together their was an unspoken agreement that they patrol in opposite directions. Even in the common room or at meals Maggie hadn't even so much as glanced in his direction not on purpose anyway. He had been punished plenty, which meant Maharet could be done with him, though it seemed that even when her focus wasn't on him his suffering had continued.
The first two words he spoke to her weren't very pleasant, as anyone might suspect. "You really should move on from the past darling. I have." Too much, far more important than holding a grudge against someone who she assumed had learned his lesson, was going on in her life. She had picked up new skills compliments of Jacob, her agenda was turned to a new page, and she was presently keeping her love life to those that understood her better and weren't expecting more of her then Maharet was able to give.
"I'm fine by the way thank you for asking." Maybe it was because he didn't like her, or perhaps it was his unfortunate state, but whatever the case Hector's manners were in short supply. Looking him over carefully she shook her head, genuinely saddened by what he was wasting away into. Maggie truly did hate to see a werewolf go against its nature and be reduced to the pitiful creature that Hector was seeing a small dose of in himself. "You've been taking wolfsbane, haven't you?" When you repressed the wolf it had a very taxing effect on your body as well as your mental state. Either way you turned if you were full and still felt the call of the moon if you were part, the cravings were still the same only you fought with yourself to ignore your nature. "Are you okay?"

Hector shoved his hands back in his pockets and leaned against the wall while looking down at her. Her smile never faltered, and he imagined what was really behind it. He didn't expect for a minute that she had forgiven him for ditching and foiling Fenrir's plans. Nor did he think that she didn't have anything up her sleeve. Blinking a few times, he tried to register her words. He had moved on from the past. Mostly. You couldn't blame the guy for not completely moving on though. She'd tried to turn him evil for crying out loud. But Hector supposed that the past was the past, and that maybe he could try to get along with her. "Yeah, hey Maggie," he said, a stiff smile forming on his lips. He wasn't exactly in the best mood today. The full moon had just passed, and it was a rough one. He was of course taking the wolfsbane potion, but it was still rough.
Instead of transforming into a raving monster, he was just a monster. He was in wolf form all night, tortured by thoughts of where Izzy was and what she was doing, was she okay or was she in trouble. He was fully sane for his first full moon and he wasn't sure what he thought of it. But Maggie's voice shook him out of his thoughts and brought him back to the present. "Yeah, I've been taking it. It's hard on me though. Not really sure if you care, as you want me to embrace myself. But I don't like not being in control." His warm brown eyes flitted up to her face for a few seconds, watching her expression. She wanted to know if he was alright, but words couldn't explain how he was feeling. The school year was almost over and he was getting closer and closer to being on his own. What if Fenrir still held a vendetta against him and came after him? What if he used Izzy to get him? He would never surrender to the man of course, but if it meant saving Izzy he would at least talk to him. "Ive been better Maggie. But how are you? Still up to your usual plotting?" A genuine smirk crossed his features as he smiled down at her. Some of the old Hector was coming back.

That smile of his, however force in the beginning, was a good start. As pissed off as he had been with her she hadn't anticipated, nor had she had an expectations, that things would be smooth sailing when they did finally talk again. Maharet was off to a good start, that was for sure. She wouldn't be surprised to hear him be sarcastic or terse with her, to simply walk away or blow up at her, especially with the instability of the potion she suspected he was taking. To be honest, when it came to Hector now that everything was said and done, Maggie wasn't sure how she should feel about him. What she did know though was that since the night they broke up she had decided not to act on false pretenses anymore. Hector knew a hint of the truth and keeping up appearances weren't really necessary with him. Maharet had no reason to be manipulative and at the m being genuine.
It was always such a shame when a werewolf took wolfsbane. Maggie didn't like it. Hector didn't like not being in control but life had a funny way about it and control was so rarely on the menu. "I can understand that." Which she could. Who didn't like being in control, especially over themselves. "But are you really? It just always seemed to me that the wolfsbane potion has a way of controlling not only the wolf in you but the human as well. Look at what its doing to you." Maharet pointed out. Even if she didn't have a care for Hector one way or the other she did respect the wolf in him and that counted for her concern.
She could see that glimmer of the old him coming back to him in her presence. It was nice to see actually. "I've been well. I've always got some scheme going on, as you well know, usually multiple." That had been the problem between them. Maybe if she hadn't had more than Hector on her plate she wouldn't have messed up, but a thousand maybes weren't going to change what had happened. What she had told him when he broke up with her had been true though, her way was so much easier than what Fenrir might come up with. Maharet dreaded what pain Hector would have to go through in the future, whatever that might be. "I'm sorry about how things ended between us, and for Romulus. When I get angry.... Its never a good thing." Maggie was vicious when she got upset and Rom was a common tool to exact her vengeance.

Even though things had ended badly between them, Hector had to admit that she was right. He was having a rough time adjusting to this wolfsbane thing. It meant that he was always grumpy and tired, and that he was on even more of an edge than usual. He usually did okay with Izzy around, but as soon as she was out of his site he got frustrated and angry again, trying to know where she always was and always on the look out for Romulous, whom his last altercation with had been.... Bad. He ruffled his hair softly with his hand and looked down at her. So she was sorry for how things ended with them? "You know, I'm sorry too. If you hadn't been plotting behind my back, or sleeping with my best friend, I would have enjoyed being with you more. You can be nice when you want to be you know Maggie," he said smirking.
"Just so you know, things have been a little better with the potion. I'm not wild and out of control anymore. At least, not during the change. I feel more in control on the full moon. Outside of it, I'm always tense, tired, and grumpy all at the same time." It was like his inner beast was out to play during the days there was no fullmoon, while his inner human was cast aside to sit and watch idly.

She was sorry in only a way that Maharet Rosier could be. As much as she wasn't supposed to have those feeling, as they were seen as weaknesses, Maggie did enjoy them. Hector had given her something that other guy's always seemed to neglect- and maybe that was just another reason why she had messed things up so royally. Maharet didn't know how to deal with it. It made her nervous almost, not that she would admit it to herself let alone anyone else. When she looked back on her relationship with Hector it was a grey area. Maggie knew she shouldn't have been nostalgic for when it was good- when he was clueless- but she did.
"So you would have rather I told you I was scheming and slept with someone you hated." Laughing Maharet nodded. "I'll keep that in mind." She knew full well that wasn't what Hector meant but keeping things light between them kept her from having some deep, profound revelation. The chances of that happening were slim, but there was no sense in risking it. Maharet knew more about her complexities than many would have ever suspected, but what over ruled that was knowing her place and what that meant for what needed and would be done.
Knowing first hand what Hector was going through, at this particular point in her life, was impossible. Smiling up at him Maggie knew how most werewolves took care of their frustrations, that glint in her eyes probably made her thought process obvious. "You just need an outlet. Find something that you can indulge in that let's you vent out all that pent up emotion." Reaching up Maharet tenderly brushed her fingers through his freshly ruffled hair, smoothing it out for him. "Otherwise you're likely to go insane and a rabid wolf is never a good thing."
