Awww, aren't they cute?

On the left up there would be Adelina Williams, also known as Addy. She's my adorable fifth year muggleborn Ravenclaw student. On the right would be Serenity Pierce, more commonly known as Ren, a fifth year, pureblood, Ravenclaw or Gryffindor student. These two met on the train to Hogwarts before their eleventh year and were instantly inseparable for their first two years of schooling.

That changed in the Summer after their second year. Addy has had a bit of a harder life at times. When she was thirteen years old she was babysitting her little brother and he fell down the stairs, dying on her watch. Before the incident Addy was rather outgoing and energetic, much like Ren is to this day, but afterwards Addy changed. She became extremely withdrawn, anti-social, and wouldn't speak much at all. She slowly pushed away all of her friends, including Ren, and was rather alone for her entire third year of schooling. Ren is a pretty happy, popular girl, though. She had friends, but was never mean to Addy. She tried to reach out to her old best friend, but Adelina always seemed to push her away until Ren just sort of stood back at a distance and kept an eye on her old friend without really interfering with her at all.

Fourth year passed much the same... until Ren and Addy were paired up for a transfiguration project at the end of last year, when they started speaking again. Over the Summer they exchanged letters and began speaking more. This year, despite the fact that Addy is still pretty quiet and Ren's one of the only people she will speak to, they've returned to their best friend ways and spend a lot of time together, as all best friends do.

That's good, because Addy needs a friend this year. One friend isn't enough for her parents to lesen their concern for her, so they have set her up in an arranged marriage hoping that it will bring their daughter out of her shell a bit more. This arranged marriage happens to be with a pureblood blood purist half-vampire who hates Addy's guts... so she's gonna need this friend's comfort.
