Bartholomew wasn't really looking for anything conventional today and the fact he had been stood up again as usual didn't surprise him at all. In fact he was getting tired of placing his bets on someone that wouldn't be there for him, and that was well-deserving enough for a drink. Sad as that may be, he wasn't going to let his woes go out of control at all. Even if drinking his sorrows was a crime he'd just tell whoever was telling him otherwise to talk to the wall cause he's not interested in hearing any more sob stories. Bart had almost reached his breaking point, and he had it with women for now unless he met a charming damsel he could hit on without feeling restraint or feelings that wouldn't hold him back either.
Plus, he just figured that he needed a girl to cure all his worries, but that was a little shallow now he realized. Just needing a girl wasn't anything to be proud of, especially with the profession he was in and how time consuming it was. Getting home was always a relief since sometimes after all the paperwork he dealt with, it was more horrible dealing with that than dark wizards. Most of them were laying low and the few that were actually acting out had quite a powerful force behind them guiding them to the darkness that was left behind by Voldemort. Yet, the way they acted was changing, and they had learn from Voldemort's mistakes.
Bartholomew dreaded that he could sense a fearful darkness in the future and soon his worries were drowned with his first drink. Luckily it was a butter beer that set his spirits soaring as high as a kite, however, that wasn't even enough to get him tipsy. Flaring money wasn't his style, nor was drinking absurd amounts, but he was just sipping this cup...that normally indicated something was indeed wrong with him. Normally he drank buckets and buckets of the stuff. "I doubt there's anyone out there willing to listen to the woes of a lone auror who thought he had it all, and then lost it every time he asked just one woman out," he clinked the fellow next to him, unaware that the female on the other side of him seemed to be looking intently at him.
Surely, she had a striking figure, and Bartholomew had glanced her over, very approvingly of course, yet hadn't bothered to speak to her yet. Initiating conversations with women was never his strong point.

because no matter what Lea loved her job at the school. In her eyes being a nurse was one of the greatest profession out there. Always being able to help others, to heal. It was an amazing feeling. Also growing up with her mother as a healer she was always fascinated in the trade. That, however, did not mean it didn't get tiering every now and then. She was off today and was glad for the break. It was refreshing, yet her choice of locations was a bit odd for her. She was sitting at the bar at The Hog's Head with a glass of butter beer in front of her. She would usually go to the three broom sticks but today she just felt like changing it up a bit.
Sociable was an understatement for Lea. She got along with just about everyone she met. She was always a fun and cheery person which was why being here was odd for her. Lea wasn't really paying attention to the other people coming in. That is until someone next to her said something interesting. At first she figured he was just drunk but that still didn't prevent her from listening to what he said. Ok, so an Auror who really had a bad time when it came to relationships. That was a shame since he really wasn't a bad looking guy. Nevertheless, it really wasn't her place to say anything.
She was always speaking out and talking with others. It was so easy for her to make friends throughout school and even now when she was working. Lea had this need to be around people who accepted her and she saw nothing wrong with that. Making someone happy after being down was something Lea prided herself in. No matter what she could always put a smile on a friends or even a strangers face. She just hoped that her little 'ability' was still working.
Old habits die hard and Lea was always jumping into a conversation. What was wrong with it? He seemed nice enough and everyone needed someone to talk to every once in a while. "Hi! I couldn't help but overhear that you were having some troubles. That is really too bad because I can't see why anyone would want to stand you up" She was a bright light of happiness when she spoke. There was a warm, kind smile on her face as she faced the man.
He really was good looking now that she had a better look at him. Maybe it was a good idea to come here this day. And she saw no harm in starting up a conversation. It was always nice to met someone new.

Bartholomew really didn't know what to say when he heard that heavenly voice approach his ears and he felt his whole body go rigid as he looked over to see an incredible beauty talking to him. Even in his mind he was starting to let fireworks go off with the way that she was just sitting there talking to him as if he expected to be the last person she'd actually notice. Shaking his head, he soon let his eyes wander for a moment towards the wall, and then put a hand in front of his mouth deciding to take the time to clear his throat with a rather loud ahem. Finally, he turned back towards her to greet her as he smiled warmly, or at least he attempted to smile. An auror with relationship problems and here he was spouting them off in front of a random stranger, and speaking of strangers, he didn't even know her name.
There was something vaguely familiar about her besides the fact he had almost ogled her body for a moment since the effects of the butter beer had hit his perverted side just a little bit. Although, he kept his glance at just the satisfactory level that he'd be able to converse with her while just pretending he wasn't looking down. Nah, Bart wasn't that shallow, and he kept to himself mostly as he listened to her heavenly voice speaking to him. Of all the guys here in this place, she had chosen to talk to him, but perhaps she was going to take pity on him. Now that was something he hated, when people tried taking pity on him like he couldn't handle his own life when they had troubles of their own.
Sighing and shaking his head at that, he soon spoke to her in return. Deciding to at least appear friendly, but he did have a slight crush on her already from just meeting her due to her impression of him. Not even reluctantly adding that he was going to hit on her in his mind and preparing the many comments he knew would sweep women off their feet. It really depended on the girl though, and half the time he ended up getting slapped for some of his dumb pick-up lines. The wand one was infamous and had grown so old over the decades. "Well, I'm afraid to say that it's true, and I'm almost considering making a school about getting stood up. Mainly about what you could do to prevent it from happening, like not jumping at the first opportunity you see a cute girl that you want to take out on a date. Although, you're a gorgeous woman, so there's a difference, and your eyes seem to sparkle with the light of the stars, I'm Bartholomew," he said to her, holding out his hand to her.

because no matter what She only smiled as he seemed quizzical about why she was talking to him. Why wouldn't she? There were not too many people at the bar, he was sitting right next to her and in all honesty he was a very handsome gentlemen. She could be flirtatious at times but she was more of a social butterfly than anything. It had nothing to do with attention like some people. For her it was just the joy of being around other people. At least she wasn't shallow or an attention hog. She also wasn't picky about who she associated with as long as they were good in some sense. Basically an order member or something like that. She did not align herself with people who were self-centered purists.
She laughed at the notion about a school about being stood up. She wasn't trying to be rude or anything, it was just kind of funny because...well it could help some people in the long run. "Well that would be an interesting school to say the least, and I thank you for the complement She smiled. His complement was flattering to say the least. She often received complements but most of the time she ignored them but it was still nice to receive a complement every now and again. She looked at his hand then back to him. It would be rude not to introduce herself. And why shouldn't she? Lea wasn't opposed to getting to know someone and this particular person was very intriguing.
She shook his hand, still with a kind smile on her face. "Well it is a pleasure to meet you Bartholomew. I'm Leauna, Lea for short" Lea preferred to be called by her nickname in most cases. Now for people she was just acquaintance it was her full first name and for people she didn't care for she rather be called by her last name. But for some strange reason, or maybe it wasn't so strange, she could see Bartholomew as a good friend. She did not think of it in any other way at that moment, he was very dashing but she wasn't one to rush things. Besides, wasn't it better to get to know someone and have a bit of fun before anything got too serious?

Bartholomew was watching those beautiful lips of hers slowly move and found himself wanting to kiss them already, yes he saw her as more than a good friend already. No, he wasn't going to let his drunk half take control, and realized that wasn't even the case it was more or less just his body telling him she gave him a reaction that many women wouldn't. Bart had to choose his options wisely but he shrugged his shoulders forward as he heard her telling him her name. Now that was a surprising first, but of course he didn't want things to move too fast either as this was the first time they had both met honestly. If there was a connection he'd feel it later when he asked her to dance, but Bart was actually asking himself why he would even think he would do that?
Sure, she was a catch, but would he have a chance compared to all the other men within the same tavern. It wasn't unusual for someone to take his place and start chatting up a pretty lady such as herself. Leauna, what a gorgeous name, and he was already tongue-tied without having to look into her eyes for long. Having to keep his guard up, but he was doing well in not letting his eyes divert to other areas of her body. Soon he just perked up as he smiled warmly towards her in return, and spoke, "Well, Lea, pleasure to meat you, you can just call me Bart, works easier that way, and I also have to add that your name certainly suits an angel such as yourself," he commented without really thinking about the words he chose.
It wasn't usual for him to hit on someone he just met, but that had been twice in a row now. Wondering if he should quit while he was ahead in case she thought of them as one of those crazy losers that just stalked taverns all the time looking for a good time. "I promise you, you'll be safe with me, after all you already know I'm an auror, but the headmaster is my father, which is a pretty hefty price to pay on my own head if you happen to be out to get me from some other organization," he said to her, chuckling lightly hoping she caught the joke.

because no matter what There he went again with the flattery. She actuality quite liked it. Lea figured it was the way he said the words, so naturally and he wasn't saying anything idiotic. It was almost poetic in a way. She wondered if there was some other reason for the kind words other than just complements. Lea decided it was best not to over think these things. There was no evidence that he was a devious man using words for an ulterior motive. He was an Auror so that counted for something right? He dedicated his time to keep people safe right? At least that is what she was led to believe Aurors did.
Lea took a good look at Bart. He was defiantly a catch. She really could not figure out why someone would stand him up on a date. Then again she really did not know him well enough to make any guesses on the matter. "Well you defiantly seem to know the right things to say to a woman to keep her engrossed into your conversation" It was another way of saying thank you for the complement. She wanted to make sure he didn't think she was going to just go off and talk to someone else. She was very much
Being safe was something she always felt like she was laking. Lea figured it was a simple feeling that all people desired. It was very interesting to hear that his father was her boss for the most part. She laughed at what he said. It was somewhat true that if someone wanted they could place a decent price on his head because of his father and job, but it was still kind of funny. She would never be that type of person who would give someone up for money or anything for that matter unless they were 'bad'. "Well it is nice to see that you have a sense of humor. So your the headmaster's son. That is really something. I'm a nurse at Hogwarts, so I guess you could say your father is my boss" She realized that she hadn't told him her profession. He had already mentioned what he did and she figured this was the perfect opportunity.

Bart wasn't satisfied with just this, but he supposed that his conversation could be incredibly worse than what it was right now. Just glad to have a rather beautiful woman to talk to, and then he realized she was one of the school nurses that worked underneath Kingsley Shacklebolt, his father. Bartholomew almost wanted to let her just take him right there and push him up against the wall to let her do whatever she wanted with him. Those thoughts were still rampaging loudly throughout his mind as he finally settled on just looking over her form from where he stood. Idly tapping his foot against the ground to the rhythm of the song that was playing now and keeping up his own natural humming to go along with it.
Funny thing that this world was coming to with all the aurors running around still having to deal with all of those nasty dark wizards for a change, but even he had those forgoing thoughts where the end was near. Of course, if magic went extinct a lot of wizards would have to go about their lives learning from muggles just how to do mundane tasks if they weren't used to using magic in general at all. Those thoughts were going to get him killed some day but what if the world did just forget all about magic. What if it was just them making up stuff in this world that seemed to be surrounded by it and all magical creatures suddenly went extinct. There would always be a hero willing to save an extinct wizarding race if they could help it.
Which was the case with what was known as the nundu, a very ancient beast that was said to have taken at least one hundred wizards just to tame it. Now here he was standing at a bar with a beautiful woman and all he was thinking about were magical creatures. Hopeless is what he called himself as he blushed slightly, and then looked over towards her again. Choosing his words carefully at the same time, "Seems to be my luck to run into Hogwarts staff a lot and become interested in every one of them. No offense, I don't mean you, you're incredibly beautiful and I don't want to chase you off just cause of one silly comment I made. Yes, I'm used to that too, haha, being the son of such a heroic figure seems to be rather...becoming of me. I dislike the fame I get from it though, just like the Potters and Weasleys too, I'm afraid I dislike living in my father's shadow. Although I am sort of following in his foot steps since he did used to be head auror," he commented towards Leauna even though he didn't know her all that well.

because no matter what lea did not understand what it meant to come from a famous family. she didn't know her birth parents and living in that orphanage made being adopted even more amazing. she never cared what her parents were. they loved her and that was all she ever wanted. lea was more than glad to be talking to someone this afternoon. she hated spending time alone especially on her day off. she had become dependent on being around others. it had a lot to do with her earlier days and also because of right after school she was holiplized for a time. she couldn't see anyone and it really did hurt.
it was easy to say she was dependent on being around others. she did find Bart very attractive and funny. she had a knack for talking and even liking some of the strangest people. not that this one was strange. he just seemed to not have much luck. she was fascinated about him being an auror. it was always an interesting job but she preferred the healing. there was always a relationship between patient and doctor where as being an auror could be lonely.
she smiled as he spoke. "well you haven't scared me off. and you are certainty very good a giving out complements. I am sure that even if you feel like you are in your fathers shadow now you will one day make a name for yourself" she had to admit that the conversation was becoming fun to say the least.
