Most wizards were afraid of getting caught by the ministry for purchasing or trading illegal goods. In his case illegal creatures. But since the ministry was looking for him in all the obvious places, he had taken his business to places the english ministry of magic wouldn't bother to look, and where they weren't supposed to be interfering anyway.Chuckling as he had evaded the great Hermione Weasley, who seemed to be one of the most annoying officials the ministry had employed, and that was saying something. Still procuring the item had been most difficult but once he had been out of the country it got just a bit easier when the ministry officials weren't out looking for him or Jared. Satisfied with his find he couldn't wait for Jared to see it once it hatched. The destruction on the creature by itself was great but once they found something as equally dangerous the possiblities were even greater.
It was very fortunate of him to have met up and began working with Jared. Some people may think them insane but they were equally matched and shared much of the same interests. And Jared's lab gave him a place away from ministry eyes to conduct some breeding of his own. The forest itself was dangerous but Emmett knew how to get through the forest quite well. Once through he entered the lab and went to his work area. Tapping his wand he sent a note to Jared. Now all he could do was wait and stare at his prize catch, the egg of a Nundu.

Jared had been hassled too many times to even consider answering the door this time, but he knew fully well that trespassers were all too common on his own domain. As the whole forest was his play-ground, but all of these creatures respected their master. Amusing as it sounded, he was certain that there were dangerous limits with what creatures could be formed as his little drag-drake wandered up beside him rather big for only being twenty years or more so of age. Having had this companion since he had almost been expelled from Hogwarts from the little guy almost devouring his class. Oh yes, that had been fun indeed, and the strange little creature was far from being finished. It still had a long ways to go in terms of evolution.
Jared was too focused on his current work, coming a half-breed with another half-breed, strange as it sounded, that seemed complex and dangerous. After all, what was life without a few risks in there? Even if there was only one person that understood his demented mine, and having the run in with Harry Potter so long ago, the boy should stick his nose in matters elsewhere if he thought to concern himself with such mundane things as dragon eggs. One of the most respectable dragon egg breedres had gone out of business due to some wizard working on his own and taking down a major illegal trae operation.
Jared had deftly avoided going out then, and stayed within his base of operations until those rumors lifted. Now it seemed that wizard had lost his appetite of going after illegal breeders in general, must of found the guy he was looking for as his trades had halted to a stop. That is until a new source showed itself on the black market. Wearing a normal doctor's coat covering his black shirt, black dress pants, and dress shoes. Heard the note bing on his desk as he pressed a normal looking red button to the left of it. Soon the door would open as a protective bubble would form around Emmett...the base itself was rather sophisticated. A force field filled purely with magic pushed the water back and soon he'd be able to enter what resembled a portal, though it was just water blocking his way.
A cleverly hidden base underneath the lake itself as he would be able to walk the path, and in no less than ten minutes the path itself would start closing. Jared had thought that a great idea, to add the peril of being swallowed up by the lake with his own staff to see if they were really willing to be his partners. It was a test of their devotion to his cause, not that he cared as he more or less saw his creations more as equals than them. "Well, about time, I've been waiting," he said to no one in particular it looked like if Emmett was about to enter. Looking over at the egg, and then back to the one he was erecting underneath what looked to be a runespoor, those three-headed snakes could be nasty. Luckily he had rooted it to the spot, along with it's three heads so the other two didn't get into an argument.
Vicious little snakes, but the egg he had underneath it was a toad's egg. Curious to see the results as he sat back, grinning softly, as he had the egg under there for at least a year now, still no hatching or any magical qualities being passed over. Sighing softly, he soon moved it to under the snake, hoping it wouldn't break the egg. Jared's journal was littered across the desk with many details of all the creatures he had found lately, as well as the results of their creations.

The first time he had come across the Illgotten Forest he had been in for quite a surprise. But with the operation that Jared had going on one could never be too careful. Ministry officials liked to put their noses where they weren’t wanted or needed. The regulations that the ministry had put on breeding and on which creatures should never be bred at all, let alone mixed had put down the potential for all the creatures that could exist in the world. However, they insisted it was for the continued safety of the wizarding world, and keeping it secret from the muggles. In his opinion they were far superior than the muggles and like the ministry officials shouldn’t go where they weren’t wanted. Now that he had been to the Illgotten Forest a few times he knew how to enter, and had waited for Jared to lift whatever he had to so that he could gain entrance.
Sometimes he wished that procuring eggs for the magical creatures that they needed wasn’t so difficult but he supposed that what made the breeding all the more fun. That they were doing it and the ministry had so far been unable to stop them well it was just great. "Well, about time, I've been waiting," Emmett hadn’t meant to take so long to find the egg and bring it back to Jared, he had figured that he had to be put through tests to keep his employment with Jared. After all he didn’t fancy becoming the next meal for one of the creations in the forest, or the drag-drake, which seemed to love the taste of humans.
Thinking back to his encounter with the one and only Hermione Weasley he wondered why she even cared what he was up to. That woman had been a pain since her days at the office of regulation and control of magical creatures. ”I had to avoid a very nosy ministry official but she’s been left somewhere in London.” It wasn’t so much of an excuse and he had avoided her. Even if she had managed to follow him she would have never made it through the forest. The runespoor was one of the most venomous snakes, and the possibilities for them to breed were endless. Now all Emmett would do was wait to see if there was anything else Jared needed of him.

It wasn't the first time this had happened, and Jared had come to expect it from the damn Ministry of Magic. Meddling in places they shouldn't have, but he hated Harry Potter as much as the next person even if the curr had been meddling in affairs he shouldn't have. Amusing as this was to him to see Emmett having trouble getting through the forest, he was slightly smirking at the same time. Jared knew his drag-drake would never harm unless he gave the command to actually sick his friend down in cold blood, but that would have hindered his process. Even as many people normally liked to think that he had been just out to get his own revenge on muggle-borns, oh no, his first target was going to be Hogwarts. Coming next year his plans would see fruition and he was going to enjoy every ounce of suffering he caused.
Dark days were brewing for the immense school that he had sought to bring down again, but he knew they had a rather powerful leader at the head of it. There would have to be some way to deal with him personally, but he had to consider that it was the care of magical creatures department he was more concerned with. Students being attacked in the forbidden forest was too likely to happen now a days, and he was already half tempted to release a creature into the wild. A test, that's all he would need, but he would need a harmless breed for that. One that would just leave a small bite and not harm anyone directly.
Some student would bring it to the school's attention that someone was breeding strange animals, and that had only happened at least near when the dark lord had reigned causing panic in the school. Jared fully remembered that well, but he really didn't care about Voldemort in particular at all. Just another foolish person who let his power be influenced by the fact he thought separating his soul into seven pieces was a smart move. Why not just keep your soul so that you are more powerful than anyone else in the world. Shaking his head he looked over the nundu egg, looking at it's marvelous simplicity as he then glanced towards the drag-drake that was walking towards them.
Jared had decided to let Morty stay inside for a little bit, but he wasn't staring hungrily at Emmett either anymore since Jared had him on a regular diet of the rodents they had managed to find scampering about. The many failed attempts of taking common muggle-like creatures to try to see if he could breed them, but they weren't as susceptible to it as magical creatures were. Cockatrices were his next goal, but he wasn't about to reveal that plan either. "No worries, now we have to continue our operation, we should have at least five cockatrices hatching tomorrow, so I advise caution around those. I can easily control them though, but I'd rather not have you get stoned," he smiled menacingly as if it would be funny to see.
Such a morbid sense of humor that few would get, but only Emmett would see the humor in that cause Jared could easily cure the stoning issue for him. Magic was able to repel almost anything, but when the cockatrices were babies their eyes were usually shut anyways.

It seemed to Emmett that he had awful luck when it came to getting things from London. Particularly since there always seemed to be meddlesome ministry workers around. Sure they were easily escaped or dealt with, it was just bothersome having to go through the whole process. The trips to London were very few now and most of the time required disguises. Sure it had been years since the ministry had wanted him for questioning but he had been very careful since his return from France. He half wondered what had become of Cooper, his very first cross breed between a dragon and a cerebus. He had been very fond of that creature. He’d have to breed another one someday but for now he was busy with assisting Jared with his projects. He was far too busy to do something on his own now. Another cooper would have to wait.
There were very few fond moments from his time at Hogwarts and he wouldn’t be sad to see the school go. He probably wouldn’t feel much of anything. It wasn’t as if he had friends or had fit in very well. He knew vaguely of Jared’s plans for the school and he was more than willing to help. All the students ever ended up being were nosy ministry officials or just nosy in general. Somehow people seemed to feel it was there business to put their nose where it didn’t belong, the ministry was just the worst of them. He’d like to see the ministry fall at their hands as well but that was all in good time. It wasn’t as if they didn’t still have years left to do whatever they like. Wizards had a long life span unless it was cut short by another wizard or creature.
No worries, now we have to continue our operation, we should have at least five cockatrices hatching tomorrow, so I advise caution around those. I can easily control them though, but I’d rather not have you get stoned.” There was usually always something to be done at the laboratory, or something hatching rather. Emmett didn’t mind keeping busy after all this was his life pretty much. He got Jared’s humour having almost the same type. An almost smile graced his face. He understood what Jared was saying. And it would go without saying he would be cautious around any creature that they were hatching or breeding. ”Whats left to be done tonight?”

Jared had to consider his answer, but shrugged his shoulders as he leaned back in his chair looking at all of the monitors with the many creatures all penned up in cages. Some of the more dangerous ones were locked deep within the facility where he could easily transport them upwards whenever he needed to since most of the base itself was magical. Wards were set everywhere around their office in case the dragons got out of hand when they hatched, which had kept them safe this whole time. Jared had even given special commands to only Emmett to make some of the creatures automatically fall asleep after having hypnotized a few of them. Crazy as that effort had been, it had proved quite effective and Jared found he could do research more peacefully without a dragon trying to tear the base apart.
The only creation that was incredibly stable was his drag-drake along with the little ones running around constantly on the ground that he mainly made for Morty, his drag-drake. A smirk approached his lips as he saw the giant drag-drake bounding across the room after a delicious morsel that had grown rather plump as he chuckled slightly watching it act like a cat as it wiggled it's tail to pounce at it. It was cute in it's own grotesque way, but now he regarded Emmett as it seemed like he was getting impatient with just waiting around for the eggs to hatch. All in good time, but right now they had more important matters to attend to. "Well, I have to say, you did a very good job getting that egg, now what else do we need, I think there's nothing else I can really think of...just watch your step there's more grindlows on the loose in here and they like to hide now. I suggest capturing as many of them as you can find before they drive you insane...oh wait we already are," he cackled at that.
The air seemed to split itself as he said this, and knew that a grindlow was indeed standing behind him as he instantly drew his wand cowboy style. Not even hesitating for a second as he started to keep himself hidden away from it after speaking out slowly, "incarcerous" and a rope shot out the end of his wand and instantly bound the creature that was trying to escape. Making a tsk noise, Jared soon had the grindylow by it's feet.. and then handed it to Emmett..."They can cause a major amount of damage, but that's all I got, after that you may retire," he said to Emmett, dismissing him now. Catching grindylows really wasn't a boring task honestly especially when it would keep his partner occupied for a while.

Emmett had been wondering if maybe he should stop showing his impatience. It wasn’t as if the laboratory was boring but sometimes it was restless waiting for the eggs to hatch so they could see how the breeding had gone and how powerful the creations were. There was more to their plan, or more Jared’s plan, and Emmett was anxious to get to do what they wanted. "Well, I have to say, you did a very good job getting that egg, now what else do we need, I think there's nothing else I can really think of...just watch your step there's more grindlows on the loose in here and they like to hide now. I suggest capturing as many of them as you can find before they drive you insane...oh wait we already are," It made Emmett quite proud that Jared thought he had done a good job. If there was anything that they could both understand it was how the ministry made illegal breeding much harder than it had to be. One day they would realize that the breeding was necessary, but it wasn’t harmless. At least not to others, but to himself and Jared, well it wasn’t as if the creatures would turn on them. Cackling along with Jared he nodded. The grindylows would certainly have to be found, it wasn’t the insanity he was worried about but they did need to find all of them. ”We ought to let those ministry officials get a taste of what we’ve got here but I suppose that is all in good time as well.”
Emmett had felt the grindylow near them but Jared had gotten to it first. But there were still plenty to be found and rounded up. It just wouldn’t do for them to cause damage, that wouldn’t please anyone. "They can cause a major amount of damage, but that's all I got, after that you may retire,"[s/] That would at least give him something to do for the rest of the night and Emmett was grateful. There was nothing like being bored, just waiting until the creatures hatched. ”I’ll let you know when I have them all rounded up.” Sure it could take awhile but the last thing Emmett wanted to do after finding them all was to sleep. Still he would come to that after he finished the task at hand.

Jared merely smirked at that, of course Emmett would take care of it, he always took care of things around here when he was too lazy to do them himself. Jared had made mention of a net in the back, but he never really thought it was ever there since some of the creatures did roam freely around here so who knows what got moved where. Usually his drag-drake was curled up beside him at the moment, but today he was out playing with the other gnargles running all over the place. Yes, those creatures actually existed and looked strangely like mice, although had a tastier tang to them it looked like. Place was infested with the damn creatures, and as amusing as they were to watch running around the could poison any human being to within an inch of their life.
Jared had almost been the victim of one had he not been forewarned by his computers about the possible threat of someone making quick work of his area. Yes, he used computers to keep track of all the many eggs they had. Sure there were the many chimera eggs there too, but honestly those were even more rare than this one egg he wanted to hatch right away. For now he'd put it in the incubator and see what would come of it. The last time he had heard of a Nundu was down in East Africa where it had grown to an immensely huge size and resembled a giant lion basically. Sadly this wasn't Easy Africa, but they did have a device that would let them control the environment within a tank.
Jared had just moved the egg finally to wards it wards respective ward and kept it within it's incubator so that way he would know approximately how many days it would take to hatch. Thinking that it would be a rather cool accomplishment to combine that creature with another fearsome one..perhaps a dragon...hungarian horntail might work just fine.
