What more could have he asked for other than a full tip jar? Oh yes, his hat was indeed full of the many tips he had acquired throughout the night as he was the main attraction for now. Amazingly enough he was just sitting there on his stool up on the stage that he had ordered from the Hog's head. Finally getting what he wanted out of all the patrons and that was utmost gratitude. Oh yes, he was going to make his name known throughout the world and here was the best place to start it. Everything wasn't all about him of course, well in his own mindset that wasn't true, but that's what most of the songs were about at least. Mainly about the days when Scandinavia had been a prosperous country before people even knew what vampires or werewolves were.
Of course, there were tales of the first werewolves mixed in there too yet it nearly didn't concern him honestly. As long as people paid for him to tell the tales and they forgot his name it was a job well done. As with most bards he didn't like to tell much about himself, yet his stories were always off about some far off land he had come from. Deciding to tell the one about Amarillo Lestoat and about the book he had called "A vampire's monologue" to mainly stop people from reading it if they were about to. Sure, the people who read it were indeed bored to death, but he never really liked seducing people like that.
Funny, it seemed, were the words he'd use to describe his whole life of posing as a vampire, but he doubted that there was much more to tell about himself. Today he just went with the werewolf tales and eventually ventured into the Second Wizarding War a little with the tale of the Boy Who Lived of course. Though that tale was slowly winding down to a close as he finally just plucked the last few notes on his lute. Grinning at the tune that carried overhead of a love song between a werewolf and a vampire, their fates entwined to meet death on both ends. Of course, that blood feud was old as time, and it was more or less a tragic Juliet and Romeo tale spun from Remy's own mind.
At least how he would portray it, where the werewolf's and the vampire's families hate each other. While in the middle they sneak off to see each other during the night since that's the only time they can spend it together due to the vampire's nature. Finally ending his tale with a slightly sad ending, but they both ended up with each other when they both passed on to the other life in death. Finally deciding to keep his own wits about him and soon he bowed politely as the crowd cheered for him as he soon made his way to his own table. Making sure no one was sitting opposite of him since he preferred to be alone when finishing his concert...well it wasn't really a concert but he was just conceited like that at times.
Finally ordering a butterbeer and hoping he could just enjoy it's taste, since he had just started to redevelop his taste buds after having none for so long. It seemed odd that drinks still effected him.

For such a young vampire, or well only half of one, Caleb was weighed down heavily by his own thoughts as he shuffled into the Three Broomsticks. Yes he was a Hogwarts student and it was late at night but he wanted granted certain privileges due to his nature. Although he did not need it as often as a full vampire, Caleb did need to hunt and he was allowed free range for the night. He had already finished feeding on a fawn that he let live for he only needed a bit of blood. He would never drain a whole animal and take their life unless he was on the brink of death. After hunting Caleb wasn't ready to return to his four poster bed in the Ravenclaw tower.
Instead he wanted to spend a few hours in the Three Broomsticks with his own thoughts, drowning them in a bit of fire whiskey. He knew not to drink too much for the alcoholic drink did affect him but not as quickly as it did a human. Ordering one he quietly paid for it and walked over to a table next to a man he had seen many times in this area of town. He was the one who told stories to entertain people, his name was Remy Lestoat and Caleb had only remembered it due to the fact that he was a vampire and his daughter was in the same house as him.
Caleb took a sip of his drink as he kept glancing over at Remy wondering if it would be too forward of him to ask for advice. Caleb wasn't the type of person to just approach strangers and start pestering them with questions. But Caleb knew the information he needed he could most likely get from Remy. As he glanced back at the older vampire his nerves got the best of him and he looked away adverting his eyes to the liquid that laid in his cup as he let out a small sigh.

Rem, or Remy, Rem Rem in some cases, but he hated the name Rem Rem so much, and the person who had given it to him had passed away long ago. Funny how the years caught up to him and he was sitting here mulling over past nick names he was hoping to avoid discussing with anyone. Raising an eyebrow at the bartender for a moment, and deciding to keep his attention to himself. Surely there would be no one in here tonight that would give him blood, but getting his feed was all he needed to control his urges. Blood lust wasn't fun, especially from a full vampire that used to live off animal blood until your brother taught you that human blood tasted so much better. Drinking down the butter beer after a few minutes of scanning the area, and he wasn't oblivious to the person looking him over.
Remy wasn't certain what it was about him but he had a rather vague feeling he had vamp blood in him that made him seem to actually hone in on him in the first place. Seeing the way he warily looked at him, he soon found himself casually pretending he didn't notice his stare. Although he was sitting close enough to hear him, but Remy knew that his hearing was way better than that especially if he was a half-vampire. Viviana certainly had her own charm about using her heightened superior senses over a lot of things. Remy really didn't know why this particular student was even remotely interested in him and found himself vaguely interested too. Time to find out what this little student could want, but Remy was definitely not considering him a nuisance yet.
Being what he was, and the profession he had made him easy to get along with no matter where he went. Everyone loved bards and it wasn't every day he had someone actually wanting to be in his presence instead of trying to run away. As he ordered another butter beer he took this opportunity to let his eyes pierce his with a slight gaze that indicated Remy had been watching him in return. waving a finger towards him to get closer as if he had something to say, but it was honestly just to get the boy over his fear of what he might do. Fangs shown rather brazenly in a place like this, but Remy wasn't going to hide who he was ever.
"If you keep glimpsing over, your eyeballs may need to be glued to your skull boy, don't be shy, what's your name? I'm Remy Lestoat, although my fame usually speaks for me sadly" he said rather calmly to Caleb, finally looking back towards him again, finishing off his next butterbeer letting the tasteless substance calm his nerves a little.

The eyes of the other vampire were boring into him and suddenly Caleb felt guilty for looking over at him so often. Perhaps he had angered him in some way. Vampires could be very particular when they wanted space but hopefully Caleb had not disrupt the bard vampire. He tried to focus just on his drink alone, a half empty glass of fire whiskey, the other half of it swirled in his stomach making him feel just a bit queasy but that was more due to the thoughts racing through his mind.
What on earth was he to do about the situation he was in? There were plenty of stories where one half of the best friend duo falls in love, even tales of them both having deep feelings but never had Caleb heard about one of those best friends being a vampire, or half of one. Although Katherine had never expressed concern for being a best friend of a half-vampire it still did not settle Caleb's worries. Not only was he risking his heart by letting Katherine know how he felt but he was also risking rejection due to his species and he wasn't really sure which would hurt worse.
Caleb wanted to know how that type of a relationship, a vampire and human, worked. How did the vampire go on after their human partner died? Or did they just change them. Caleb was all confused and just at a complete lost with his thoughts. Suddenly he heard a low voice speak to him and Caleb instantly felt embarrassed for being caught. He gave Remy a small smile before pushing his chair back and walking over to his table. "Caleb Bludd." He offered. "I know who you are, I go to school with your daughter." He said. "Plus I've seen you around here plenty of times." He added quickly as he set his glass of fire whiskey down on the table top. "I honestly didn't mean to disturb you, I just have a lot on my mind and no one of my kind to turn to." Caleb told Remy.

Remy was considering the boys offer, but he was considering taking up this time to actually decide if he was really worth this evening of his time. Remy was a busy bard after all and he had due dates to set mainly with those that were on his friendly side. Aside from the usual banter echoing around him, he tuned them all out, and had managed to get used to his extremely sensitive hearing over the years too. At least his brother had taught him how to keep his cool and not act like a complete idiot when he heard someone whispering something about a vampire. The worst was when he heard whispers about someone trying to kill him, and did they honestly think they could hide anything from him behind closed doors. Sound proof walls might have helped them then.
It didn't stop Remy from almost draining them dry, but he left them alive, just barely. That was the consequence he paid for living a life like this, but his immortality was certainly going to put his life on the line. Not wanting to seem rude he decided to keep his temper in check for now, but he knew that this young vampire wanted something from him. It obviously wasn't money, but Remy prided himself in his own work to know that anyone wanting to take his coin purse would have to think about what they did while their blood was being drained. Remy considered himself to have his own sense of justice, and being honorable was not by taking one's money for yourself.
That was thievery and surely he had stolen a person's life previously, that didn't mean he was going to steal a few worthless pieces of money. After all, Remy honestly only needed blood to really live in the first place, and as far as he knew he was the only full vampire here that seemed to be vaguely aware of just what his brother had accomplished by making his book. Even though it was boring drivel about his life it surely did the job of keeping him entertained on learning many things he thought he knew about his brother. Not having mentioned to even Viviana that he secretly missed his brother, but the time he had shared with him in eternity made up for it.
Remy still had a long life ahead of him as he nodded towards Caleb, and merely raised an eyebrow towards him, "Let me guess, or put a random thought out there. If it's to ask how many people I've had to coerce into letting me suck their blood, it's none, cause they're all willing. I prefer it that way, I hate it when they scream in fear or agony just cause of what I am. OR if it's not that, do tell what's on your mind, Caleb," he said to him rather calmly. Remy had very chilling disposition with the way he said it, but was quickly eased away by a small smile.

Caleb sat across from another vampire in a dimly lit pub called the Three Broomsticks. He did not feel scared at all for he was half of what Remy was. Caleb was a half-vampire, born from a human female and conceived by a male vampire. But that didn't mean that Caleb wasn't nervous at all. Sitting across from a vampire as old as Remy was surely intimidating, at least to the young soul that Caleb was. The only thing stopping Caleb from apologizing to Remy for wasting his time and walking out the door to head back to Hogwarts was that Caleb knew Remy would be able to give him the advice he needed. The flash of the wedding band on his finger only secured that feeling in Caleb's gut. There were no other adult vampires that Caleb could turn to at school so he needed to seek outside help.
Caleb stared at Remy and a small smile was starting to form on his lips at Remy;s attempt to guess what he had come here for. "Is that something you get a lot? People asking those sort of questions?" Caleb asked with almost disbelief in his tone. Why would any vampire or human need to know such things. "I'm not one to really drink from humans, animals suffice." Caleb said. He took a deep breath wondering how he should start this off.
"Well..." Caleb paused for a moment, "you're married right? To a human?" Caleb asked wanting to make sure all his facts were corrected instead of assuming and making himself look foolish.

Remy merely looked at him curiously once more with that subtle regard in his eyes and the little glistening that showed he knew much more than Caleb would have imagined. The question struck him as odd, but Caleb really shouldn't have to worry about his feelings for a human in the long run. Sure, he might have a longer life, but it was easy for him to go through with this after having found a woman that accepted him for who he was. Remy was definitely not going to let his love get away from him at all, but if she did end up dying at all, he would claim his life just for her. A tragic thing to hear from a full vampire, but he didn't want to live this life forever, and he had already had a good two hundred years going for him already.
Thinking it was funny to be asked such a question now after all this time, and knowing he should have figured other vampires or half-vampires would have came to him for advice on how to seduce women without taking the blood out of them. "You'd be surprised how many drunk patrons think it's funny to ask if I want to suck their blood just cause they're acting like a moron around me. In fact, it just makes me want to kick them out of the tavern, which is why I'm probably highly regarded as dangerous to business in some places. All I was doing was quietly getting rid of the unruly," he said remorsefully, as that had lead to moving around more now.
Remy really didn't give any details on whether or not how he had lived with a human for so long as he looked at him for a moment raising his eyebrow curiously. "Well, don't be fooled Caleb, humans aren't exactly what they seem, a long time ago, I considered them a valuable food source to be thinned out over a long period of time. Mainly keeping my meals very short and vague long enough to at least survive a week or so. That aside, animals only keep you going for so long, but at least you're doing something to keep yourself abiding that hunger.
Yes, I'm also married to a human by the way, I'm guessing you are in love with one as well or wondering how a human would take it if she found out what you really were?" he asked curiously.

As Caleb waited for the much older vampire to answer his questions, he brought the mug of butter beer to his lips and took a good drink from it, satisfying his dry mouth which was caused by his nerves. It had nothing really to do with the fact that he was sitting across from a full vampire, one who was probably much stronger and obviously wiser than him but Caleb was just a naturally shy person. That fact was quite an open and shut case seeing as his only true, and best, friend was Katherine. He wasn't use to being so open with strangers. This would be a first for Caleb to seek help from a random person, although Remy didn't seem that random considering two girls in his house were his daughters and that Remy had long been known of telling stories in the area.
Caleb set his glass down and listened to Remy. He spoke, not of the topic Caleb was most earnest to learn about, but he answered a previous question that just popped up during there small conversation. "Not that I have much experience in that department I have noticed that those who are intoxicated seemed to want to dabble with the dangerous, so I guess their pleas for you to suck their blood is what they use to fill that need." Caleb said. "Sounds quite repulsive actually." He added more as an after thought.
Shaking his head lightly, which sent his shoulder length hair back and forth. After righting his hair again he simply said, "I can't drink from a human, it just seems so wrong to me, I guess because I am still half human and that part of me wishes to never be bitten. Also that might be the reason why the animals suffice seeing as I only need blood half as often as you might need it." Caleb said. "Although I might if I was with someone who wanted me to...but that is a big maybe." He said lightly chuckling to himself.
Relieved to hear that his facts had been right, which they usually were, he was glad that he might be able to get the advice he needed. He smiled at Remy when he started to guess at why such a question might come up. "Basically. I guess me asking such an obvious question would lead you to the obvious reason." He said, lightly chuckling again. "I just want to know, can it work? Is it possible to have a relationship with a human without hurting them or making them think they have to change for you." Caleb asked, looking across the table at Remy. Hopefully Remy would be able to put some calm in Caleb's thoughts about Katherine. Giving him hope that it was possible to have a relationship with her without harming her in any way or wandering.

Remy was quite intrigued by this young half-vampire and seemed to be rather amazed he hadn't talked to Viviana at all. Curious as it was, but that would have been normal if she hadn't gotten to him yet, but he would advise him to go to her next time. "Well, all I can say is that I'm married to a human wife, and that's how I had two daughters suffice to say I think I've made it work for over seventeen years or more so far. Probably almost twenty now, but I can say that it can work out if they understand what you are before you get involved with them. I was afraid I'd be rejected, but I was glad that she accepted for what I was...I have just started drinking from her regularly. It takes a lot for me to control my blood lust, but I manage to keep it in check," he said calmly.
Feeding off of his own wife wasn't something he was really fond of and would rather drain someone else's blood so they would feel more woozy. Speaking of he would need to get out of this bar soon if something interesting didn't happen soon, after all, Caleb was a young lad, but he could easily make it back to the castle no problem if dawn decided to break out. Remy was the only one the sun had consequences for and hoped none of the other vampire families would let their half-vampire children play in -too- much sunlight.
"Well, so far it's been working since I brought up feeding from her and I take very little portions to the point she can actually sleep without feeling totally exhausted. I hate draining too much blood otherwise that's when I get out of hand, I should have tested on animals to control my hunger. Yes, you're right, and animal blood tastes disgusting to me now. I'm afraid I tried that for a while until my brother showed me what humans taste like, I really wish I could go back, but that's gone now, since he's dead, plus the animal blood really makes me spit it back up, anyways, it is possible to date a human, for you it's a lot easier since you can see her during the day, I have to live by the night waiting until the day ends to meet her," he said slightly. Shrugging his shoulders, and honestly, who didn't know of Amarillo lestoat? The vampire that made a book to bore people from how bland his history was and then he'd just bite them while they were bored to death of it.
