Victoire walked slowly through Hogsmeade, watching all the students running around, and various professors out and about collecting supplies and other items. With her hands behind her back, she slowly trudged through the snow. A light breeze tossed her scarf up into her face and she pushed it away and back down into her coat, where it belonged. The sound of crunching snow underneath her boots comforted her for some reason. Perhaps it was just something predictable in these uncertain times. Entering honeydukes, she picked out a few chocolate frogs and some pumpkin pasties, paid, then left.
Strolling down the street, she watched out for some suspicious characters. She couldn't help herself, she was just in that mindset right now. She was so on edge lately. She wasn't getting enough sleep, though thanks to magical beauty products, and her mother's many French products, she was able to keep up her gorgeous appearance. Vic rubbed her face tiredly. Sitting down on a bench she started to enjoy the food she'd just purchased. The chocolate frogs perked her up, she always enjoyed looking at the cards and seeing which ones she got. Secretly she had a collection going, in a shoe box underneath her bed. But nobody knew that.
Popping one from into her mouth she bit down and enjoyed the sweet chocolate that spread across her tongue. Relaxing into the bench, she wished that this trip to Hogsmeade wasn't a reconnaissance one, because she could really go for a drink right now. The only times she'd really let herself go with drinking had been with Bart, and she certainly wouldn't do that alone. She just wanted to really relax. Maybe when she got home she would have a long soak in the tub. Opening the next frog box, she shoved the box into her coat pocket and bit down on the frog. The pumpkin pasties were still on her lap, and she looked guiltily down at them, not sure if she wanted to eat them or not.
Crunching snow behind her made her head perk up and she looked around. The footsteps could have been made by anyone, but she wasn't sure she wanted to encounter someone bad today, not after having just survived a duel with Rhea Thornwallow. The only reason she lived through that was because she always carried a trove of Weasley products on her. She'd placed an undetectable extension charm on all of her pockets to make sure she always had what she needed in case of an emergency. Victoire looked back down into her lap to see that one of her pumpkin pasties was gone.
