Ivan was glad that the yule ball was here, but more surprised that Roxanne had actually said yes to him asking her out on this surprising event of all things. Even during this yule ball, but it was mainly due to the champions of the four houses. Ivan rarely remembered a time when all the students of Hogwarts would get together like this, but he had to keep in mind it was a certain tradition they liked to uphold. At least Kingsley had the nerve to set up the hall this way and now here they all were listening to romantic sappy feeling music. Luckily he had actually combed his hair today and put on a tuxedo of all things, making him look out of sorts with the rest of the students. Awkward as it was trying to waddle around in these penguin suits, but he had a tie nicely kept and trimmed around the rough edges of his face.
Deciding to let his darker skinned complexion keep a look out for Roxanne, he was incredibly nervous, just pacing back and forth hoping she wouldn't ditch him. Yes, he knew better than to think anything like that, but the jitters always crept on him when taking someone to a main event like this. Even as his body was sweating prematurely, he soon just went with the flow and saw this as an act to pull a major prank on everyone. One that would leave them all stunned like turning out the lights randomly on them and then dropping a bunch of berty bott's every flavored beans over their head. Or just sticking their butt to the chair with a sticking charm unknowingly. That would have amused him immensely, but he wasn't here to have total fun without Roxanne.
Tapping his fingers against his arms lightly, while his black dress shoes gave him a slightly more superior air to him and then he just relaxed visibly. Calming his nerves, and trying to make it look like he wasn't hyper-ventilating or anything of the sort. Calming his nerves had worked and instantly he spun around to scare someone he thought was sneaking up on him. Each time he did it usually resulted in a slap in the face since it was a woman that wasn't his date, but he would get it right eventually. At least his face wasn't red anymore since he learned to look over his shoulder...to the point it looked like he was checking if any dust was there.
Catching a shimmering glimpse of his date further back was indeed a rare treat, but he couldn't see what she was wearing from here as he turned his head forward hearing her foot-steps. That's when he abruptly turned around and basically tried to scare the living hell out of her as he said it all excited look, "Oh my god you made it!" he basically squealed, but it wasn't high pitch, just an over-excited tone to make her giggle.

]The amount of time that it took the young Weasley girl to ready herself for this evening's ball was not nearly ask pain staking as it had been for the masquerade dance the previous month. Perhaps that was due to the difference in scenarios. For the Yule Ball Roxanne knew exactly who should would be spending her night with but for the masquerade it had been a mystery. So in order to impress a unknown date Roxanne had spent extra time on herself as to be noticed but for this dance none of those precautions were necessary. Her date for tonight would not care exactly how she looked because he would found her attractive in almost any light, as a boyfriend should. Although Roxanne was comfortable with Ivan she knew it was intended that she looked the part. But instead of doing herself completely up Roxanne opted for a more natural look.
Entering the ballroom, which was just an overly decorated although beautiful, great hall. Roxanne's gown glimmered with each step as the lights reflected off her iced colored dress. The material fell gracefully to the floor and swept behind her slightly. Roxanne's dark thick locks had been pinned in a side ponytail that started at the base of her neck. A pair of simple diamond studs were placed in her ears with a matching necklace. She glanced around the room trying to spot Ivan. His back was to her as she made her way over to him.
Roxanne was a few steps behind him when he suddenly spun around exclaiming that she had made it. She couldn't help but laugh at his silliness. "Of course I have made it. What did you expect me to leave you going stag so another girl could come sweep you away from me?" Roxanne say closing the distance between them and kissing him lightly on the lips. "You look far too dashing for me to leave you alone." She said with a smile, glad to have the man before her as her date tonight. Those other girls could eat their hearts out for she wouldn't be sharing.

Ivan was glancing at Roxanne as soon as he smelled the hint of perfume she might have had on, but he couldn't really tell. Turning around to face her as he soon realized she was kissing his lips softly as he returned the same kiss with wrapping his arms around her waist. "That was a rather nice greeting, I think I could get used to that, so what have you been up to the past day or so, just getting ready fixing your hair?" he asked, and was poking her side teasingly in return. Yes, he was already infatuated with her, but he knew their time together would be short-lived once the year was over. The whole thing Ivan needed to decide on was what he was going to go for since a lot of positions would be taken up by the time he even considered that route.
Right now he was focused on the way Roxanne seemed to glow in the light just from standing there as if she were the only person that would be able to get him to just dance with. Yes, most of the other girls would have to worry about their own partners for now and he was totally fine with that. After all that was just fine with him and he really didn't want to share her either. So Ivan considered himself lucky having grabbed Roxanne when he did, and their chance meeting had been fate in a way. Pulling pranks was his living and he wasn't going to give that up anytime soon. Obviously their champion prank had failed in the past cause no one showed up. It had kind of bummed him out, but whatever, they probably had figured out it was a ruse from the start.
Oh well, he was here to have fun and not worry about the miniscule details at all. In fact, he was just glad to be close with Roxanne at this proximity. After all it would take a lot more to get him away from her than just another woman, but he wasn't even going to let another girl into his life. Sure he had hung out with a few recently that had almost gotten out of control, but he had handled himself well. Good thing she wasn't a leglimens or anything like that otherwise she would have figured him out already.
That wouldn't have bothered him at all as he soon kissed her again and then lead her onto the floor. 'Shall we dance?' he asked her calmly.
