alarica had no real purpose for wandering the seventh floor corridor; she had not just finished a class, nor had she been hiding within the room of requriment. oh yes she knew about the room, having stumbled upon it by mere chance only a few weeks ago as it happened. she'd been wandering along this very corridor..on a day very much like today in fact, thinking over that she needed somewhere quiet to work on her spells. the common room was no good place for that - and there were too many distractions in the grounds, too many places where things could go wrong..
..and as she wandered past an apparently blank stretch of wall thinking things over, a door had suddenly appeared out of nowhere, only noticing it when it clicked and swung open with a small creak. that had made her jump - and squeak unnattractively she might add - and naturally her curious nature had left being doubts and inhibitions, and peered inside. the room had been perfect...large enough for one lone person to practise in, objects that could do no harm to her - cushions and such - if she got the spell wrong dotted about the place, including a few spell books for extra help.
it'd been perfect and she'd practised for hours until she'd perfected some spells she'd previously been having difficulty with. she hadn't been back since, only due to the fact that she'd half wondered if it was a dream and been worried about dissapointment should it not be real...and secondly, because if it had been real she didn't want to take advantage of this awesome piece of magic. but still she proceeded to wander the seventh floor corridor, happening to pause outside the corridor wall where the door had appeared and gaze at it with avid curiousity..as if the secrets of the magic would suddenly reveal themselves to her - and only her. absurd.
if she hadn't been staring so hopefully at the wall, she might have noticed the fellow fifth year hufflepuff heading right her way...as it happened, she didn't...and so as she suddenly turned, her shoulder accidently knocked hard into something else rather solid and she stumbled back, altomatically reaching ut to try and grab the other person and perhaps keep them upright as her own balance failed her, and she fell backward; releasing her grip off course to avoid them both tumbling down. landing on her behind with an 'off' she quickly pushing her long red hair from her gaze and looked up, appologetic. "i'm so sorry!" she said.

In all honesty, Sabrina wished she could skip her fifth year. Why on Earth had she decided to pick up the Arithmancy class in her Third year? It was probably the hardest class ever and she even had to go to the teacher outside of class in hopes to learn whatever it was they were learning. Apparently that didn’t want to work for her as she left the classroom angry at herself for still not understanding anything Professor Johanson tried to explain to her. The young blond sighed softly dropping her head down as she made her way down the seventh floor corridor, not even paying attention to where she was going. She was just too down about some of her classes to even care and then there was the fact that she couldn’t get her brother Douglas to even talk to her or look at her without disgust. The year seemed to just be getting worse and the only classes she was doing well at were potions and herbology. Sure she was doing okay in some of her other classes, but she felt she needed to do better.
She had begun to regret zoning out because she was mad that she was doing so horrible in a few of her classes as she ran right into the shoulder off another student. Stumbling backwards, books falling out of her hands, yet she still managed to regain her balance with a small “oof”. She turned to see who it was that she had ran into and recognized the girl that was now down on the ground. “i'm so sorry!” she hear Alarcia sputter to her, a girl that happened to be in the same house and year as Sabrina. The two were friends and she wondered why she was standing in the middle of the seventh floor corridor. Perhaps she knew that she was taking extra lessons with Professor Johanson and came to pick her up? No, that couldn’t be as she hadn’t told anyone about it.
“Oh no, that was completely my fault,
” the young blond apologized as she offered her hand to help Alarcia back up on her feet, forgetting that a couple of her books and parchments were scattered on the floor below them. “ I really should’ve been watching where I was going,” she smiled sheepishly, feeling really bad that she had bumped Alarcia over.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

she heard the clattering and thumping as books fell from the other girls hands and landed heavily, pieces of parchment rolling over each other along the floor. she bit her lip and pushed her hair out the way of her face as it fell forward into her eyes. she only now realised who it was she'd run into and she bit her lip. “Oh no, that was completely my fault,” she shook her head. "i shouldn't have been standing in the way...but anyway..we could do this all day." she said with a light grin.
as sabina offered her a hand, alarica took it gratefully and stood. only then did she remember all the books on the floor and alarica bent to help pick them up - she was rather helpful and she felt bad that she'd been the cause of why they were on the floor in the first place. she really shouldn't have been standing in the middle of the corridor, but she hadn't thought anyone would be around at this time, which made her wonder why sabina was up here at this time.
she was pretty good friends with the fellow hufflepuff fifth year girl; after all they had a little bit in common, and alarica was a generally nice person so...there was no surprise really that she'd branched out and become friends with sabina. she gave her a small smile and offered to hand her books and parchments. "here... " she offered with a smile. "so what're you doing up here?" she asked lightly, just curioius.

“i shouldn't have been standing in the way...but anyway..we could do this all day. Sabrina smiled at her and then helped her off of the floor. She still felt like it was her fault and she was sure Alaicia was going to feel the same way thinking it’s her fault. “Perhaps if we both were a little bit more careful
” she shrugged before she glanced down at the floor. How did she not realize that her books had gotten everywhere? And her paper as well, she noticed an ink bottle had managed to fall out of her bag, but thank goodness the cap had stayed on. Sabrina had bent over to start picking up her books and apparently Alarica had thought the same thing as she already had most of them picked up by the time Sabrina had noticed. “ here...” Alarica had stood back up and handed Sabrina back her books. Sabrina nodded her thanks as she took her books and parchment trying to organize it a bit. “ so what're you doing up here?” Sabrina looked up at Alarica, she hadn’t told anyone that she had been going to the Arithmancy Professor in hopes to understand what’s going on in class. “ Just promise you won’t tell anyone…” she said shyly before shoving some of her books into her bag. “ I’m not doing well in a few of my classes, Arithmancy being one. So I was getting some extra help,” she sighed softly, feeling the blood rush to her cheeks in embarrassment as she looked down at the floor. The young blond didn’t really want anyone to know, but she felt that she could trust Alarica. She then looked back up at Alarica curious as to why she was there as well. “ Do you need help in Arithmancy as well? Or are you up here for some other reason?” she asked her curiously. Maybe if Alarica needed help in Arithmancy as well, the two girls could possible work on it together. Maybe it would be easier to work with a friends then with a Professor.
