It was always said only the shady folk roamed Knockturn Alley. Much like Dorset Street was to muggles in the 18th century, the narrow and oddly crowded alleyway was full of everything that was not approved in a more decent society. There were more than a dozen filthy and dodgy stores devoted to the dark arts, from Borgin and Burkes on one end to Talliwakkers at the other. However, those were just the more reputable places one could go to. Just within the alleyway itself, half the people appeared to be selling one thing or another, though only advertised by word of mouth, so to speak. To put it simply, the bloody place [somewhat literally], was a great place for those wanting excitement or the unusual.
The sun had only recently set as a young man leisurely made his way through the stairway that lead to the Alley. As he looked around, he could see business was starting to pick up. Just like Diagon and Knockturn were different as night and day, their times of business varied as well. It would soon be full of drunkards and whores, dark wizards and shady dealers...and at least one vampire.
Ironically, the vampire in question is indeed the boy we are following. However, in all honesty, his vampire blood wasn’t as thick as a full blooded one. He was only half, but most couldn’t notice the small differences. It was all better for him...let them wonder. The more power and confidence you held in this place, the better off you were. Most of the regulars were like a swarm of piranhas and at any sign of weakness they would eat you alive. It was better to be predator than prey.
The only reason why he was here was to just look around and possibly get a bite if he had the chance. It wasn’t like many would be missed in this part of town and the hunger had been nagging him for some time. Blood was what he really wanted, and not the kind you would drink from a glass or take from animals. Even though he was only half, Galen couldn’t see how they tolerated the stuff when fresh warm blood was there for the taking. Over the years, some he found even enjoyed it. What could be wrong with that?
The only problem was, was that his sister was an Auror. If she got word of what he was doing, there likely would be hell to pay. His actions could possibly affect the whole family. but only being 16, sometimes thinking ahead was hard to do when desire is knocking at the door.
Taking his time, his bright blue eyes began to fall on every eligible victim. The hunter in him told him to find someone alone, lost, or lonely; basically anything he could use to lure them away. It was only when he neared the other exit that he noticed a group of dodgy vendors begin to gather around near the narrow entry way, blocking the only way out as they attempted to harass the newest piece of meat. Curious to see who it was, obviously knowing they likely didn’t belong, Galen pushed away some of the throng to find it was a girl. Smiling a bit wickedly, his eyes roamed her figure hungrily. However, as tasty as she seemed, this was mainly a cover, knowing that he would have to lay claim to her if she was ever to get out.. [/justify][/size]

there's a fire starting in my heart reaching a fever pitch and it's bringing me out the dark [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url('http://i53.tinypic.com/wb98wn.jpg');,true] ROLLING IN THE DEEP !
Payton had just left a shop in Diagon Alley, when she was swept up into the current of people doing their holiday shopping. Being jostled along, she was too tiny and petite to really push her way out of the throng of people, but she managed to finally throw her body out and into an alleyway. Shaking herself out, she clutched her coat around her, pulling her bright yellow scarf around her neck. A cold, bone chilling wind blew up her coat, proving that she hadn't pulled it close enough. Her wand jiggled in her boot as she scurried down the hallway, trying to put distance between herself and her that mob of people.
But that was when she noticed a new group of people were forming. The alley was suddenly dark and gloomy, and the hair on the back of her neck started to rise up. Creepy looking people were groping at her, trying to take peek in her bags. Some were even trying to coax her to leave with them, promising goodies and fun things to do. She shook her head no, nervously fidgeting around. She pushed her way from the mob, her legs carrying her further and further into Knockturn Alley without even knowing it.
Payton tripped over someone's foot, landing on the ground. Her bags shot across the concrete, their contents spilling. Old books sat in puddles of dark dank water. But she didn't even care now. Normally she would have the courage to stand up to those that were picking on her, but this time it was different. As she pulled herself up off the ground she saw that her pants had dust and mud on them, which wouldn't come out until she washed them later. She was pushed into a wall, her face showing her fear. She hadn't been prepared to get jumped today. All around her, tall, scarey looking wizards and witches were pushing in on her, digging in her pockets, some pulling at her hair. Pushing at them with her hands, the muggleborn forgot she had a wand and tried to fend them off physically.
Crying out, Payton slid down the wall and into a fetal position, protecting the little money she had left. A few tears leaked out onto her cheeks as the people now covered her, their bodies weighing down on hers, crumpling her further to the ground. Her wand itched in her boot, reminding her that she was pretty good at defensive spells. And if she remembered correctly, most of these people didn't have wands of their own. Grabbing hers, she slid it out of her boot and gripped it tightly, her hand shaking a bit. Then she pushed up with all her might and stuck her wand out, whispering, "Protego!" The shield charm struck everyone nearest her, and they were pushed back. She stood heaving there, her waist length blond curls hanging limply about her torso now. As they came back to gather around her, she tried to think of those defensive spells she was just learning, but thankfully didn't have to think too hard.
People around her parted like water when a young male approached her. His dark shaggy hair hung in his eyes, which were also dark. She could tell he was bad news from the way he hungrily looked her over, but she held her ground. Straightening her back, Payton lifted her chin up defiantly. Makeup marks ran down her cheeks from the few scared tears she had shed. Her wand hand shook a bit, but she wasn't sure if it was from adrenaline or being scared. Her bright blue eyes narrowed at him. She could feel his roving gaze all over her body, which made her feel dirty and abused. "Back off creep," she said, her voice for once not betraying her. It was sturdy and full of determination.

Not many would be able to watch the outcome of what was about to happen. One would require a sick or hard heart, with little decency to just stand there; to stand there and appear as if they enjoyed it. A Gryffindor would have quickly went to her aid because this was an ideal damsel in distress, a Ravenclaw might try to outwit or aid her in spell casting, a Hufflepuff would do it's best in any way possible, though Galen was none of these. He was a Slytherin whose main attack revolved on waiting and watching. Besides, as much as he really wanted to help her, there was no way he planned on sacrificing his reputation for a girl, no matter how helpless she looked.
The part vampire never blinked as he watched her fall, all her newly bought books and supplies now scattered on the filthy ground. Butch like a rabbit in a trap, the bedraggled, tattered, and demented locals started to huddle around her for first dibs; either to pester her to buy their wares, give them money, or entice her with treats. Each were tugging and grabbing her, taking whatever they could reach. This was when his better side started to get stirred, knowing this was no less than being molested and how could he just stand there? He had the power to end it now.
His eyes narrowed slightly when he heard her cry out as the others continued to torment her. He could already smell the fear emanating from her direction. Sooner or later he would have to take action, but he couldn't tell why she didn't fight back? She appeared to be around the same age, so by now, if she was a student, the girl should already know a list of spells that would keep them away.
It was then a blast of blue light flashed in his eyes and he could feel the small force that pushed against them. It wasn't extremely strong, but at least she had gotten back up after her mini pity party on the rancid street. There now seemed a bit of determination in her voice. As soon as he felt the spell wear off, Galen thought it was time for his debut, so to speak, using his pressence and occasional glare to make them part like water.
Doing his best to look like a more oppressive opponent, he started to walk up to her, almost lazily. Though about 10 feet away she brandished her quivering wand right at his heart. Well that was a proper greeting to who would be her savior. When she demanded him to stay back, he only placed a curious and mildly amused look on his face as he touched his chin in a mock thoughtful way, "What's wrong, little rabbit? This is merely the welcome party." He then raised his hands, gesturing to those who remained around him, "We are very..enthusiastic about newcomers.." He tilted his head slightly, giving her a mock innocent look, followed by a more naughty one as it seemed he was trying to get a better view of places he shouldn't. Letting a moment pass, so as to surprise her, Galen then quickly made his way over to her, his hand now tightly around her forearm and her wand now in his free hand, "I doubt there is little need for this.." He then chuckled as he forcefully, but elegantly led her away from the wall,. Speaking in a low voice near her ear, he said sensuously, "I have no problem in using my own.."

Hair hung in her face, which was smudged with makeup and dirt. Her breathing had leveled off now. No longer scared, or feeling bad for herself, she stood bravely, facing the crowd. The man approaching her didn't rattle her nerves, for what could be worse that what she'd just endured? He got closer though, and she could see him better than she had before. He didn't seem to take her seriously though, as he was soon approaching her.
"I don't care how enthusiastic-" Her words were cut off when he took her wand and grabbed hold of her forearm tightly, and began to drag her away. Okay, so drag was an exaggeration. But he was leading her away from the throng of people, and as relieved as she was by this, a new sense of panic grew in her. Who was this, and why was he taking her somewhere? WHERE was he taking her? Even though he was much bigger than her, she still wiggled her arm around, trying to break free. Finally removing it from his grasp, Payton stopped in her tracks, still in a dark alleyway. She lifted her chin up and watched him for a moment, before slapping him in the face. It would be nothing to him, as he was so large it probably just smarted a bit.
"How dare you," she said, her eyes angry. "You just keep your wand where I can see it...." She thought better of that statement, because she'd heard boys in the hallway talking about their 'appendages' and calling them wands. A blush burst to her cheeks and she crossed her arms, covering her chest. Oh yes, she'd felt his roving eyes this time. "On second thought, keep your wand away from me." Payton continued to stand there, indignant and defying his wish to take her someplace.
"What do you plan on doing? You refer to yourself as 'we', so you admit your part of that gang back there. What do you plan on doing with me? Feeding me to some god awful beast?" It wasn't dawning on her that perhaps he was rescuing her, so she didn't feel bad with what she was saying. She placed her hands on hips, tapping her foot. "Well? What are you waiting for? I'm surprised you didn't just sling me over your shoulder and carry me from there." Payton narrowed her gaze at him. He looked a bit familiar. Perhaps she'd seen him around Diagon Alley before? Then is dawned on her. He was a student! A Slytherin! So he probably was up to no good. Too bad her wand was in his hand. Oh well, she had something that he didn't: A good set of pipes, so that if she screamed someone had a chance of rescuing her.

As he pulled her away from the swarming parasites, Galen couldn't help but be mildly impressed and insulted at the same time. It was nice to know she was brave enough not to scream, for what little good it would do, but he was also a tad offended that he didn't seem to give off the same terror she had been feeling when those leeches tried to grab at her. Wasn't a vampire or mysterious stranger that took hold of you the way he had worthy of some panic? Who knows what he could have done.
He gave a somewhat annoyed scoff when he heard her outspoken voice carrying on about how she didn't care about their 'enthusiasm. Trying to be as casual as possible, he replied simply, looking at her smudged and dirty face, "I don't believe I asked for you're opinion, now did I, cherie? If I had cared, I might have actually heard more than a whiney girl who has to get the last word in..."
Though, being mildly distracted in trying to make a point, he felt her hand pull away from his grasp as she stopped in her tracks with yet another stubborn look on her face. Galen couldn't help but roll his eyes because it seemed his present hostage looked to much like Liyah in a bad mood...and just like his triplet, he soon felt a strong slap to the side of his face.
Hiding his irritation under a malicious grin, he lightly rubbed the spot where she touched him and remarked absently, "Well that tickled.." Then his grin only widened when she added to keep his wand where she could see it..The girl had certainly walked into that one. Raising a brow as he saw her cheeks reddening, he pretended to start to disrobe until she corrected herself, purposely now covering her breast. She likely had noticed his prying glances. The part vampire then paused and gave an idle shrug, "Very well then..I assume that includes yours too." He didn't make his a response a question, but more of a fact as he slid her own wand into one of his hidden robe pockets.
Giving a bored look as she endlessly berated him, it soon turned more sinister when she mentioned taking her to a 'god aweful' beast. Galen couldn't hold back a playful chuckle as he looked her over once more, his eyes piercing and dangerous, his hand moving up to grim her chin and pull her close, "As much as I'd like to, I'm a bit to selfish...so for the moment cher, you're all mine.." He flashed his now visible fangs, as his thumb caressed her cheek, "Oh, and just to let you know...screaming is pointless in a hell whole like this...Besides, It would only make me hungrier.." Giving her a wink he released her yet again, but swiftly gripped her waist and tried to move her onward.

"Yeah, and you would know ALLLL about getting the last word in, wouldn't you?" Payton crossed her arms. What a scoundrel! She was about to walk away when she saw him put his wand away, then take hers from her again. Frowning, she opened her mouth to say something but was rewarded with being dragged away again. Right after she saw a flash of fangs in his mouth and he rubbed a finger down her cheek.
Panic flooded through her. Great, she'd swapped monsters for monsters. A pack of roving wizards for a vampire? Struggling to get her arm out of his grip, Payton tried to get away again. But resistance was futile. She'd had it with these damn bloody creatures. They were always preying on people they thought were weaker than them. Well little did this guy know, she knew exactly how to get away. Not only was she a witch, but she was a girl, and girl screams are extremely high pitched. Before she could scream she was jerked around a corner and was told that screaming would be useless. So she clamped her mouth shut and thought of other ways to leave.
His arm snaked around her waist and she tried to jerk away. "Hey, watch it there grab hands!" she complained, narrowing her eyes at her new captor. She was really great at getting herself into trouble, wasn't she? She had a mouth that didn't know when to shut up and a body that was too small to do any physical damage to anyone bigger than her. His hand was warm against the small of her back and she tried not to think of how much she would have enjoyed this had it been a different situation all together. Maybe if he was a true gentlemen and he was escorting her away from danger to return her safely home, then yes, she would have enjoyed this. But now, he was leading her off somewhere to some place she didn't know to drink her blood and possibly kill her.
The blood drained from her face as she tried to think of last minute ditch efforts to get away. "You wouldn't like my blood, its too spicy, too southern. Don't know if you heard, but I'm from the USA, and my blood is trashy and gross and just wouldn't taste good." Too weak to fight against his strong grip she finally gave up and walked with him. Maybe if she just played along till the last minute, then she could get away? "Where are you taking me?" she said in a small voice. If he wanted her to be prey, then she would be prey.
