Let us start the year off easy, shall we?
This assignment should be a breeze to you, easy marks, and I hope that everyone will take it upon themselves to put in a little bit of effort for the sake of their grades. It will not take much for this assignment to get complete marks, but future work may not be so easy. I suggest you take advantage of the ease this time.
After three or four completed years in my class, you should know the basics of Transfiguration well. For instance, you should be well aware that Transfiguration is separated into four different branches: transformation, vanishment, conjuration and untransfiguration. So far through your education we have only learned transformation and will soon begin to touch on vanishment, so you may not know much about the harder branches, conjuration and untransfiguration, but you are welcome to do your assignment on those if you are wiling to put in the extra work. Each branch, of course, has sub-branches, but you needn't concern yourself with them unless you would like to make your essay as detailed as possible (which I certainly do not discourage). Your task for this assignment is to choose one of the four branches of Transfiguration and research it. Write a 250 word paper, to be handed in here within the next ten days, of that branch. You must explain the branch clearly and show knowledge of it, perhaps including a spell or two that could be classified under that branch. I trust this assignment will not prove too difficult for you, and that you will get your essay in in a timely matter.
