After five plus years in my class, you should (if you have been paying attention) have learned a variety of different spells for everyday use in the wizarding world. Each spell has specific uses, and each are useful in their very own way. Yes, students, even temporarily transfiguring another being's head into a pumpkin has its uses, though you all know the consequences if you use that on another student... I need not remind you.
This homework assignment is a bit of a free will activity. I would like for you to choose one spell related to transfiguration. It does not have to be one that we have covered in the past five or six years, it could just as easily be one that you have heard much about (perhaps, if you ask, we might have a lesson on it sometime in the next year). Choose a spell, and write me a 250 word (or greater) essay on the spell. Its uses, its consequences, why you chose it, an example of it being used, etc. The better your essay is, I assure you the higher it shall be marked. You may let your creativity shine through this essay; put down anything that interests you about the spell (as long as you explain the spell itself). Other than that little fact you have free reign of the contents of your assignment.
You may hand in your assignment here whenever you'd like within the next ten days. That is the cut off, and it will not be extended for any one student. After ten days all assignments handed in will be considered late, and will not be marked. Have a pleasant evening.
