Days like today were rare. Usually ‘Afro-boy’ could be found slinking in some of the halls on Hogwarts, hiding in a deserted passageway that his father had told him of in his earlier years with some sort of prank up his sleeve, ready to unfold it on the first soul (innocent or not) to pass by. After all, it was a Saturday. There were no classes in session, and Fred always put off weekend homework to Sunday. He had absolutely nothing to do. It was the perfect time to let his creativity show. So why wasn’t he?
Meh… there was no real reason. Yesterday he had embarrassed a Slytherin in front of the whole Defence Against The Dark Arts class by switching out his wand with a fake one that turned into a snake when he tried to cast a spell, which had given him a good laugh until he’d nearly been given detention for it… the day before that a prank involving the classic bucket-of-water-on-a-door-frame had drenched a Hufflepuff seventh year, and gotten Fred a good amount of exercise bolting away from the infuriated girl. Basically every day that week he’d pulled some sort of prank that had brought a smile to his face and the faces of those around (except for, a few times, the victim). Sunday was the traditional day of rest, but Fred didn’t feel like going off of traditions. Switch it up. Make Saturday the day of rest.
The castle was full of places to hang out, both popular, unpopular, and practically unknown. His father and uncle had been in possession of the infamous Mauraders’ Map for a while, and he’d been told of many of the secret passages that the map unveiled though it was not in his possession anymore. On top of that, he’d found quite a few more secret passageways in his time at the school. In his first few years he’d gone on a bit of a spree trying to find every passageway and shortcut he could, sometimes just to sit in them in the dark and relax from everything else going on around the school. It was kind of cool to have a secret hallway somewhere in the school that only he knew about.
Today, though, he didn’t just want to lurk in a hallway alone. He wanted socialization. After all, Fred wasn’t one of those people to hide in the shadows hoping and praying that no one would notice him. The word ‘shy’ really wasn’t in the guy’s vocabulary. Since his first day at the school- hell, his first day on the train, he’d been causing havoc and laughter, chatting complete strangers up and living life to the absolute fullest. His favorite quote in the world was ‘in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.’ He made sure to live life to the fullest day so that if, by some freak accident, he ended up in the morgue tomorrow, there would be plenty of good memories for people to remember him by. …Mind you, if he died tomorrow, he’d certainly be coming back as a ghost. A life, or death, as a Peeves type apparition was strangely appealing…
Fred, always recognizable by his dark skin and hair, made his way through the halls to the library. Yes, the library. Even he was rather alarmed by the location. It wasn’t exactly a place that Fred Weasley was known to frequent. But he walked through the double doors that led into the library as naturally as though he were walking into the room of requirement which was a far more likely hang out spot. He made his way to a table in the corner, facing a few nicely organized books. Sitting down at the table he pulled out his wand, gazing out the window and lazily flicking it at the shelf, causing tens of books to topple to the floor with multiple ‘thuds’ and one to zoom into his grip. A book on his history of trolls… lovely. Well, maybe it’d provide some entertainment unless someone else happened to come along…

After wondering the halls for a bit she decided to head towards the library. It was the one place she was sure that she would have some peace and be able to catch up on some needed reading. She loved the feel of the library. The old books and the tranquility of the atmosphere. There were students who didn't come to this place to read or study but to pass the time. As for right now that was what Alaya was up to. However, she was more than happy to pick up a book and read it from cover to cover. Depending on the day she could go through five, six books before leaving. She could, without a doubt, say that this was one of her favorite places to be.
If it wasn't the library, it was the grounds where she could be found. It was rare for her to be in the common room because of the amount of people who hung out there. As for other places in the school, Alaya was not really interested in finding a new spot to pass the time. The grounds, specifically the forest, was more entertaining and it was rare to find too many people out there. She would have to say that she was getting better with the being social thing but still wasn't overly comfortable around new people. Yeah she was fine when with James, then again James did most of the talking and knew when she was feeling uncomfortable with the conversation. There was Seizel and that meeting with Deimos but they were both loners so to speak so the social thing was not something that would be fixed any time soon.
She picked up a book on the care-taking of griffins. An interesting book considering she had read it before a couple of years ago when she had nothing better to do than read. The past three years were the first years that she interacted with people. After meeting James during her third year her anti social attitude slowly changed. That did not change her love for books and knowledge. She was a quick learner and knew more than she let on. After a couple hours she was done with the book. Alaya stood from her seat and walked through the rows of books to put the book away and to grab another one.
So a completely peaceful day was not going to happen. Not too far from where she was, Alaya noticed a student knocking down a bunch of books. Sure he used his wand and didn't actually touch the books but that didn't make the situation any better. She walked up to him recolonizing him as a Gryffindor, a Weasley if she was not mistaken. "You are going to put those books back, right?" She wasn't really asking, it was more so a demand. He did interrupt the silence of the library so she really didn't see any reason to be polite, not at that moment.
