A cauldron filled with water sat upon the desk at the front of the room. Without a sound Professor Liason pointed her eleven inch wand at the base of the cauldron igniting the fire to heat the water to a boil. This was how most potions started; with a cauldron filled with boiling water. Makenzie figured why not get the water nice and hot before class actually started to get it out of the way. Professor Liason waved her wand once again causing a piece of chalk to write on the board.
Welcome to Potions Class Today's Lesson: Draught of Peace Ingredients Needed: Powdered moonstone Powdered Porcupine Quills Valerian Root Powdered Unicorn Horn Syrup of Hellebore. Professor Liason had each ingredient for her potion set up along the front desk in various sized viles, each with the exact measurement for the Draught of Peace. Makenzie waited by the door greeting each of her students as they filed into the classroom. Today's lesson would be difficult, ironically the Draught of Peace was not a peaceful potion to make. With a simple glance at the clock Makenzie knew it was time to start the class and anyone who was late would end up losing house points.
((OCC: I have recycles this lesson from the first one since one person posted in it. Hope things are different this time. Your student is late if you post after the second time I post in this thread which will result in your character losing five house points. If your character does not show up then they will be losing ten house points and receive a detention. Have some fun with this thread, Potions is a good way to be creative. Remember your character is not a potions genius so please keep in mind most of you should not be able to create this potion correctly.))

Roxanne gripped the strap of her bag a bit tighter adjusting it to a more secure position on her shoulder. It had felt like it was slipping which was no surprise due to the amount of books that were crammed into her book bag. Being a fifth year was no joke and professors were becoming more and more relentless with the work they assigned out. Roxanne huffed once before entering the potions classroom, being the first to arrive. "Morning Professor Liason." She said as she passed the tall brunette.
Roxanne enjoyed potions well enough, it was a difficult class but she loved when she got the potion right. It was hard work but the mishaps in the class made it fun. She received decent grades in the class but feared that maybe she wouldn't be good enough to pass her OWL exam in this subject by the end of the year. Claiming a table near the middle of the class, Roxanne gathered her textbook, parchment, quill, ink, and all the ingredients listed on the board for today's lesson. The Draught of Peace. She didn't really think she would ever need that, pulling prank gave her peace enough.

Arianna had eaten a healthy breakfast of an egg, toast, and a glance of orange juice. Her tummy being quite satisfied she gathered her school items which included the materials needed for her morning class of potions and headed out of the great hall. She had plenty of time to spare before the class would actually begin so she walked at a leisurely pace down to the dungeons where the class would be held. The same thoughts that flooded her dreams were back at work again this morning. She could not stop thinking about the amazing night she had with Samael, her best friend. Surely these thoughts were far more than what a best friend should be thinking but she couldn't help imagine the romance the two could have.
Arianna lazily continued down the corridor, a smile planted on her face for what seemed like no reason at all, but who wouldn't be smiling after a night like she had. Samael had made Arianna face her fears of flying, although she was not comfortable with the idea and wouldn't chose to do it again Arianna wouldn't be terrified as much if she happen to find herself on a broom once again.
She reached the door to the classroom and she smiled to the professor before filing in to see that she was the second student to arrive.

Potions, it was mandatory to take until sixth year and although he liked potions, it wasn’t one of his strong subjects. Still he had managed to pass each year in potions so he counted himself lucky and now that their OWLs were soon going to be upon them, Lorcan knew he needed to practice harder in potions. He shoved the rest of his toast in his mouth, took a big gulp of water and with that he deemed that he had finished his breakfast. He looked over at the Gryffindor table to see if Mini was there before looking down his own table, spotting Jez. He sighed before picking up his potions book, he made his way down to the dungeons and towards the potion's classroom.
Upon entering the room, he noticed that not many people where there yet and so he went to stand next to the only other Ravenclaw, Arianna. She was a nice girl. Smiling at her he turned to Roxanne. "Hey," he called out to her in greeting. Being family friends with the Weasleys, he was sure there would be at least one in each of his classes. Now all that was left to do was wait until more people turned up, he hoped they would, would wouldn’t want to learn about the draught of peace?

Louis cursed himself as he rolled out of bed. Why had no one woken him up. Damn it, he cursed again as he pulled on a clean uniform and ran his fingers throughhis mop of blonde hair. It would have to do. He had no time for breakfast, otherwise he'd be late. How could Will allow him to sleep in like this. Come to think of it, perhaps his best friend had tried to wake him and had given up. Ah well. He picked up his copy of the potions textbook and raced out of the dorms.
Louis thought he was lucky. At least the Hufflepuff common room was close to the dungeons, not like the Gryffindor or Ravenclaw common rooms. If he had to come from all the way from the top of the castle, he knew he would have been late. He broke into a run, somehow managing to dodge everyone in his way to make it to his class, his stomach growling at him, demanding food. He ignored it, already having decided he'd eat a big lunch as he burst into the classroom only to find it was nearly empty. 2 ravenclaws and a gryffindor. He moved towards his cousin, Roxanne and sighed, trying to catch his breath as he stood next to her. Now what was the potion they were meant to learn today, he asked himself as he looked to the front of the class and at the board. Oh draught of peace, well a little peace in everyone couldnt hurt right?

"Good morning class. I'm sure you have gathered from the board that we will be learning how to make the Draught of Peace potion. This potion is rather difficult but might come in great use to you during this year for it is used to calm anxiety and soothe agitation." Makenzie paused looking at all of her students. "Your Ordinary Wizarding Level exams will be taken at the end of this year and while many of you think you have plenty of time to study that time goes by extremely quick. I've seen many breakdown and students crack under pressure. So please take this lesson seriously so you might get through this year with ease." Professor Liason said as she paced back and forth in the front of the class. She hoped that her students were listening to her because this year alone was their most important year.
Makenzie walked behind her desk checking on her cauldron of water that was no boiling. "In this cauldron is boiling water which is how we start off with this potion as we do with many others. So you first must light the cauldron using the charm, Incendio, but hopefully at this stage you know this spell already. I will demonstrate how to create this difficult potion and you should follow along with me. Please pay close attention and take notes, you will need them."
Her blue-gray eyes swept the classroom, waiting for her students to take out the tools necessary to follow her instructions.
