Val walked into honeydukes, the chilly October wind putting her blonde curls into a bit of a tangle. She brushed her fingers through it once and decided that it was fine. She heard all the noise of honeydukes. She inhaled and the smell of chocolate and sugar filled her nose. It felt good to be back in Hogsmeade. Although Val's favorite food was steak (no surprise given her genetics) she adored the sweets of Honeydukes more than any other from any place else and she would like the think she had a fair sampling. She slid her mittens off and slipped them into her bag quickly and smiled. She loved Hogsmeade trips for the open dress code. She liked having a time in which students were not in house specific clothing, although she generally did recognize who was who it also added a bit of fun almost as if the barriers between houses did not stand, even just for a day. Valerie loved Slytherin she really did, but she saw the taking of the wizarding world occurring under clouds of peace, almost as a sneak attack, however she seemed to be the only one who thought so.
Val loved her father and sister dearly but she had grown weary of the purist ways. She would never tell either of them this but she wished she would still be loved even if she renounced a specific alignment and declared neutrality. She browsed the shelves letting her thoughts consume her. She wanted an escape from all the thoughts and the pressure. She just wanted to have some fun; she wanted to get away from her N.E.W.T's, studying her healer texts, and the idea that more trouble may be brewing in Hogwarts school once again. She had absentmindedly grabbed three chocolate frogs. It almost became a ritual for her. The day following her transformation always seemed to be a very bleak day for her and chocolate frogs were some of her favorites and they always made her smile without fail. She wondered about what cards she received in them. She remembered her first card ever: Mungo Bonham. The founder of St. Mungo's himself, almost like fate that she would become a Healer then, even if the school was convinced she was more cut out for what would have been a death eater in the previous war or a politician. She tried to not let the thoughts get to her but it was hard.
That is why she had found herself in Honeydukes. The pure happiness that was on every face in the store, whether Slytherin and Gryffindor, was universal. Valerie had found herself never wanting to leave the store, except for her next favorite store in the village, Zonko's Jokeshop. However Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes was by far better in her book, however she was not nearly gutsy enough to pull a prank herself. She picked up a couple licorice wands and started to head toward the front of the store when her absentmindedness struck again and she felt herself bump into someone. "I am so sorry!" She said exasperated. She quickly put her hair behind her ears and picked up her stash. "Sorry again," she mumbled looking make eye contact with this person she had been clumsy (or careless) enough to run into.
