Bartholomew obviously was just bored today and after a long day at the auror's office, he was up for a weekend of fun. Inviting some of the other auror's in his department for a drink, deciding that most of them would invite their friends, he had invited Victoire Weasley as well. Sure, he knew of her charms, but that's why they were such great friends. Even most of the other aurors he knew of were great people indeed, and one of the reasons that Bartholomew had even chosen this profession was thanks to his father making a recommendation to becoming one. Sure, it would help out later on, but Bart was thinking of changing his career path still.
Wearing a nice black coat with a white shirt underneath and some black jeans to give him a more professional edge as he had some black dress shoes on for a change. Well, he wasn't going to be seen dressing as a slob to an event such as this, while brushing his black hair to the side out of his face as his brown eyes soon met with the barkeep. Ordering a fire whiskey on the spot, he merely smiled towards the cute waitress that walked away, and surely this was going to be an eventful evening for him or anyone else that would join him. There could never be too much partying as you had to live life to it's fullest.
Even so as he drank the first fire whiskey down, he soon had to keep from throwing up just then. Cause he had downed it a little too fast, but no sooner than later, he was just fine again. Not many could live up to his standards, after all, he did have quite a bit of a reputation to up hold with his father's name. Getting drunk wouldn't help that, which is why he was at least a heavy drinker, and it took a while for him to get plastered in the long run anyways. Having a good time was what he was all about, inviting all of his friends for a celebration since he had a day off again, deciding to spend it as wisely as he could.
There were no love interests to hold him back as of yet, so he wasn't too worried about that getting in the way. Letting out a cheerful bellow to those nearby so that they'd know who he was, and if no one knew him by now....well he'd make sure they'd get to know him, that's for damned sure..

Post by TEMPERANCE JOY FAIRCHILD on Jun 22, 2011 21:39:46 GMT -6
Temperance was sure she would never grow tired of her job, it was basically her dream come true even if it was a bit of work sometimes. Well work really was more of being stuck in the office sometimes, but no one gave you guarantees that it would always be fun dark wizard catching. Sometimes it was just about sitting in the office, trying to keep busy until it was time to go home. Then at home you had to find other things to entertain you, it was a big pain in the butt sometimes. But she loved it either way, but tonight obviously was not going to be like any other night because Bart, one of the other aurors had invited everyone out for a drink. Obviously the choice had been simple for Temperance because it gave her an excuse to not sit at home all night and read books. But of course given that she didn’t feel like wearing her work clothes to the leaky cauldron, she had apparated to her house to change. There wasn’t much change between her clothes now
, and her clothes at work. Well other than the shirt she was wearing now didn’t have sleeves and she could pass off as a muggle. But she always tried to do this because you could never be certain when you’d have to blend in. She also found a lot of the clothes to be cute, not that different from wizard clothing except that they didn’t wear wizard robes. Either way once she deemed herself okay enough for a drink, she left her house and apparated to the alley outside of the leaky cauldron. It was dark enough that no one had seen her, and that she could look like she had been walking on the sidewalk like any other muggle. She stepped into the leaky cauldron, and for some reason she hesitated. But she decided that she was being silly and she decided to see who she could spot from work. She wasn’t sure how many people would actually show up, some people actually had lives outside of the auror’s office and would have definitely preferred to go live them, then come have a drink with their coworkers. In all reality it was kind of sad that she had no semblance of a life outside of the office, but that’s what tended to happen when you were devoted to your job. It tended to take precedence over everything else in your life, and even though Tempe know her parents worried, she couldn’t bring herself to care much. She finally spotted Bart downing a firewhiskey, and she watched with an amused smile as it looked like maybe he had taken it all in too quickly. Firewshikey tended to do that to you, it was one of the reasons she was careful to drink it too quickly, obviously it held its name for a reason. She walked over to him, noticing that he had dressed up a little as well which made her feel better about having gone home to change first. “You might want to drink the next one a bit slower, Bart. We don’t want you throwing it up in front of all these nice people” she said when she finally reached him. [/blockquote]

Angel put the pen down as she finished the paperwork so lazy auror had given her. Although sitting at a desk doing paperwork was the most boring part of the job, it was also one of the most essential.
She had heard that a few were going for drinks after work and although she was only a trainee, she had been asked earlier on during the day. She smiled and stood, dumping the paperwork on the lazy auror's desk before grabbing her black trench coat and heading out.
The half vampire girl always seemed regal, always had air to her as if she were royalty. Some could say she was. Lorcan d'Eath was the most well known vampires and if vampires had royalty, Angel believed her father would be king. Of course it didn't make her snobbish or conceited, in fact she was a down to earth type of girl, and although she was the prized daughter and first born in the d'Eath family, she never let it go to her head.
She entered the leaky cauldron, smiling when she saw a few other aurors. She took her coat off reveling the clothes she had worn for work. Black pants with a blue frilly top, something others would have deemed to be going out clothes. Draping the cost over her arm, she made her way to the others, her heels clicking against the hard floor. "Hey," she smiled at them, "This round's on me." She called the bartender over and ordered firewhiskeys. It was hard to for herself to get drunk, the vampire part of her tended to burn the alcohol off as soon as it entered her body, it didn't mean she couldn't have fun though. Grabbing the firewhiskey that was placed in front of her, she took a mouthful of it, enjoying the taste of it.

Bartholomew wasn't going to be shown up by his fellow auror's yet, they seemed to converge at one spot normally. It was amusing that they had heard about it as he had waited for people to actually show up. Now the party was definitely going to get started as he wasn't about to let anyone else ruin his fun at all. Even as he downed the fire whiskey without any concern for his fellow aurors, and once more he was going to be on the floor shortly. Even as the room was slowly spinning for a moment, he hiccuped and a minute later burped as a bubble flew out of his mouth.
It was amusing to watch seeing as how he didn't really get drunk all that often, but when he did, his own antics were hilarious. "Oh, I didn't know I could make...bl-uurrbbbles" jokingly teasing his friends around him. Of course, they had to be considered friends as they all worked in the same bloody department and it wasn't his fault either. Of course the last job he was on had sent him out of his own office to attempt saving some innocent bystander once again. It was certain he wasn't going to go lightly with his drinking today. Considering the long days they usually had as he had already ordered another fire whiskey.
Obviously ignoring Temperance's warnings against vomiting, yet he did tone it down since he didn't want to be over-zealous Yet he had to take the free drink he was offered, "Ah, well here's to a great night out with my friends, and don't worry I won't be vomiting, this floor will see none of that tonight...not from me at least," he said to her, letting out another hiccup.

Tapping a candle with her wand, Vic stood up as it went out. The other candles in the room follow suit, and she smiled. It was showtime. Bart had invited her out yet again to hang out. She rubbed her hands together. Grabbing her pea coat, she pulled it on and tucked her wand inside. Pulling her hair from inside the coat, she fluffed it out and stepped out of her office, closing and locking the door behind her. She whispered a spell that only she could remove first though. Times were hard and she needed to protect her research and work.
She walked to the flu network and grabbed a handful of the soft sand. She rubbed it in her fingers, enjoying its warmth. Throwing it in the pit, she fiercely yelled, "Leaky Cauldron!" and her body erupted into flames. She felt like she was being pulled in all directions before she came to a stop in the fireplace at the Leaky Cauldron. She shook herself out and brushed some dust off her shoulders before exiting and standing in the middle of the bar. She spotted a group of aurors and some other ministry workers, including Bart.
Walking over, Vic patted a hand on his back. She smiled and waved at everyone else there, hoping she wouldn't be a buzz kill just because of her position. She smiled at everyone, even though she didn't know them all by name. She'd seen them numerous times at work, but hadn't been able to introduce herself, since she was usually following her Minister around. She ordered a drink, but didn't get an alcoholic one, since the last time she drank with Bart he'd tricked her into getting drunk, she'd shifted into a rabbitt and exploded a barrel, almost got in a fight, and almost lit fire crackers in the Leaky Cauldron.
She slowly sipped her iced tea, looking around. Vic wasn't entirely sure what they would all do here, maybe they would all just be sitting around shooting the breeze? She could see that Bart was already diving head first into the alcohol. Oh no.... This was going to be one of THOSE nights.

As it was common for her, Raina was staying late at work once again. It was not very long ago that she was made a full-fledged Auror. To say the least, Raina wanted to make a good impression. It would not do for the other Aurors to think that she would start slacking off shortly after being made a full Auror. Especially considering how much effort and work she had put in as a trainee, the Aurors already knew her general work ethic. There was no way she could cheat out of that, even if she wanted to. Having been made full-fledged Auror had made her even more cognizant of her responsibilities and she was wholly eager to fulfill them.
She had heard that there was a going to be a bit of a get-together happening down at the Leaky Cauldron. Never to miss out on such an event, Raina had every intention of heading down there... as soon as she finished filling out her current outstanding paperwork. If there was one thing that Raina was not good at in her job, it would definitely be keeping up with her paperwork. There was nothing that she hated as much as paperwork. Raina was quickly becoming known as a paperwork procrastinator. Having finished a large majority of her paperwork, Raina stretched to be rid of the kinks in her shoulders and her neck that developed as she worked. A quick glance at the time told her that she had been at work for far too long. Digging through her desk, Raina managed to find a few articles of clothing that she had left at work once or twice to change into. They were comfy and worn, just as Raina liked.
As soon as she walked into the Leaky Cauldron, she spotted her colleagues and it became immediately apparent that she was under dressed in comparison... not that she cared too much. Raina loved her comfy, casual clothing with a passion. It was her opinion that she was never given enough opportunity to dress as she wished.
“Hello all,” she greeted cheerfully as she pulled up a chair at the table. It was quite obvious that Bart was already quite intoxicated. Raina never really understood how people became intoxicated quite so quickly, but her perspective was slightly different. As a born and raised Russian, Raina has quite a tolerance for alcohol. “So what are we up to? Drinking ourselves into oblivion?” she said jokingly as she looked pointedly at Bart.

Bartholomew was surprised half of the aurors were here, although they were all female and he found himself already looking over them as if they were a piece of meat for him to sample. Then again, it really couldn't be helped since half of them were indeed quite the catches at least any male in his right mind should say so. Noticing Victoire entering the premise that only meant more fun for him since he would have to get her smashed again like that other night. Good times, and it seemed there weren't many dark wizards to chase either, and it was almost boring if not for the Undersecretary who did give him assignments to actually go out there and do stuff other than paper work.
The most boring part of the job he considered, but whatever he wasn't about to give in to stereotyping people right now as he downed another fire whiskey. As it burned his throat he soon felt that annoying little buzz in his ears, but then he didn't care anymore. After all, now was when he let all inhibitions out the window as he walked up towards Temperance putting his arm around her all buddy-buddy like. "I already am in oblivion, it's psychadelic, dude. Hey if any guys hit on you I'm going to castrate them right here and now, you got it? Same goes for all you -hic- women," he said to them, but he was pretending to be drunk again. A common prank that so many of them should be used to by now.
Even though he was quite convincing as he accidentally stumbled into another patron, soon spilling the drink on him as Bart instantly cleaned the lad up with a swish of his wand and got him another drink even paying for it. All was forgiven and he moved on to bump accidentally into Raina almost toppling onto her. Now he was slurring at her as well, but his breath didn't stink, in fact it would smell like mint since he put a charm on it so he wouldn't have bad breath. Surely that would have been useful with his many encounters with other women, but he wasn't really into women when he was drunk, just talking as well as making sure he was the life of the party.
"HEY VICTOIRE!" he nearly shouted out ,blasting out even the sound of the other chatter as the room went immensely silent for that. Bart soon scolded himself for doing that, but he was smiling stupidly, then waved at everyone as conversations seemed to continue mainly about the brazen drunk crazy who had just interrupted their conversation. Bartholomew often wondered how many people said "I don't remember what we were talking about" after he made those abrupt interruptions.

Vic smiled at Bart as he stumbled around the pub. They'd had one of these little adventures just the other night. He'd pretended to be drunk, to get her really drunk, and then they had a race, which he won due to magical means. Don't get her wrong, she'd tried cheating as well, but it didn't work. Tonight she was not going to be drunk though, she was going to hold her own and stay sober. She could tell from the way he walked that he was charading his drunkenness again. As he yelled her name across the pub, she was aware of all eyes on here now. Tucking some hair behind her ear, her face burned. Why was he so good at embarrassing her?
Walking over to him, she pulled the slumping Auror off a table and somewhat off the other Auror nearest him. She caught a hint of mint and realized that Bart was at least courteous enough to mask the smell of his breath with a mint charm. She shouldered him to a chair in the middle of the group, smiling at everyone. She nodded her head to the Aurors. She didn't exactly know any of them by name, but she know of their service to the magical community.
Sitting in her own chair next to Bart's, Vic raised her hand and the bartender sent a fire whiskey her way, knowing her order by heart. She flipped a galleon over to him, the gold coin soaring through the air and passing through the hands of greedy men on the way to the bartender. She sipped the drink carefully, knowing fully well that it could spit her back out on her ass if she drank it too fast. She was used to the burn, but the headache she had the next day she wasn't used to. "So how is everyone? And Bart, I think that us ladies can handle ourselves, considering most of us ladies are Aurors." She patted his back though, her smile spreading even wider at his manlyness of wanting to protect his ladies.

Peter wasn't exactly sure what made him come to the Leaky Cauldron after work; he wasn't a huge drinker, and didn't care much for crowds, plus, he wasn't even an auror. He had heard it around the office as he passed by earlier that day, and decided he needed to do something for himself to get up out of his depressed state over his sister.
He regretted bringing a jacket as a cold wind blew across the street, and he shivered slightly. Looking around him, he stepped into The Leaky Cauldron, and automatically thought he was in the wrong place. The pub was silent, though chatter started up not long after. Peter looked around and recognized a few of the Aurors from the office, and smiled a bit when he saw Bart, apparently intoxicated. He shook his head slightly in amusement and made his way over to the small gathering.
"Hi, everybody." He smiled at the small group before making his way to the bar and ordering a firewhisky. Just one for tonight, he didn't want to get too drunk. He knew what he was like then. On his way back, he ended up behind a blonde, and as she sat next to Bart, he recognized her almost instantly as Victorie Weasley, Teddy's girlfriend. He gave her a small smile and just basked in the conversation and company of his fellow workmates.

Bartholomew was indeed one of the few eccentric people that liked to get a drink burning through his system before even starting to talk, although he had at least three fire whiskeys by now before the party had even begun. Even his words were a little slurred with how tipsy he had become, as he watched Peter with a curious gaze. Most of the Ministry workers were here, and it almost amused him to the point of confusion on how this had happened in the first place. Bart would be incredibly surprised if the Minister himself actually showed up too, but he knew that poor guy was busy with so many things on his own agenda to do. Bartholomew figured he should have just invited the whole Ministry here to give the patrons here something to fear.
With all of the aurors around, he was laughing as he saw some sketchy people leaving already and the tavern itself wasn't quite empty since there were other people having a great time as well. The atmosphere wasn't tense anymore, and he could relax again as he finally just gave up the charade, soon looking at Victoire seriously. "If I believed you, I wouldn't have to protect you from getting yourself too drunk to pull yourself off your ass," he said slowly to her, being rather blunt. Yes, that's what alcohol did to him, it brought out his not-so-affectionate side, but he meant it in a caring way. Warning her about drinking, while he was soon starting to sip at his fourth fire whiskey.
Talk about a hypocrite, but Bartholomew really didn't care at this point. Eventually he'd bring out his talking patronus and keep it so that only he knew it was him. Deciding a place and time to use it though would be up to him and if he made it slither across the floor towards an unsuspecting patron they'd probably freak out. Bart didn't want to have to deal with the trauma he'd have caused that person, but soon just shrugged his shoulders. It was their fault really if they fell for it and didn't recognize the white glow around it. Many knew of that trick, so perhaps he was going to change it up, and become invisible.
Nah, that would be too obvious, and these were aurors around him, it wasn't like they were complete nincompoops like the other patrons seemed to be. Being tapped on the shoulder to look around to see nothing and then to the other when their friends played those tricks on their other friends. Bart let out a little chuckle as he finished sipping his drink soon setting it down, and then wavered his hand for another one. There was no indication of Bart handing the tender money or anything, just another fire whiskey being brought over along with Victoire's.
That's when he realized his hiccups -actually- were starting this time, and it was easy to distinguish the difference. "PETER! Glad you could make it!" he literally almost yelled his name.

She shook her head; Bart was already gone, spewing useless words from his mouth. Honestly, how was it possible for someone like him to get drunk so quickly? "Keep drinking and vomiting is the least of the floor's worries," he spoke, taking a mouthful of her own drink as she pulled a chair out and sat down just as Victoire entered. And then Raina came in a short while afterwards. The only other person she knew was as dedicated to her job as what she was. A smile appeared on her face as she smiled at Raina, a good friend of hers. "Hey Raina," she greeted the girl before turning back to Bart as he spoke about castrating men that tried to hit on them. Really did he not know who was in this group? She raised an eyebrow before smirking. "Really now Bart, I suggest you sober up pretty quickly and stop making stupid comments before I mistake you for a snack," she spoke, licking her lips.
She turned to Victoire who had spoken up. Damn right they could take care of themselves, a group of aurors, no one would want to mess with them. She nodded once at Victoire, agreeing with her just as another walked in. She didn’t know him all that well, he was a hit wizard and she was an auror in training. She was about to greet him back when Bart beat her, yelling out to him. Yea, Bart had so had enough alcohol for the night

Dropping his head onto his desk with a thunk, Chase sighed and lifted his head off the paperwork. It was killing him, he hated it the writing and the reading and the thinking that it involved. He would much rather be out there helping up hold the law, where he could just let instinct take over and do what he was best at, shooting hexes and catching people. Apparently he was showing promise as an auror. Well he'd over heard of of the other aurors telling someone that at least. He stood up from the desk and he ran a hand through his short cropped hair and grabbed his black leather jacket from the chair and slid it over his shoulders. He knew most people worse suits to work, or even cloaks, but he didnt. He always kept it casual it was just easier that way. After all who wanted to spend all that money on a suit only to have it be ruined the next day when someone was shooting spells at you. So no, he just wore the black jeans, black tee, and the leather jacket he had on today. He waved his hand and the light in the corner of his little cubicle turned off and he waved his hand again to arragene the papers in neat piles on his desk. He had spent hour upon hour learning how to do wandless and verbal magic, studying them till he couldnt think because he knew it would come in handy when he was working. He made his way out of the department he worked in and headed for the floo networks. He was headed for the leaky couldron he knew everyone had headed off a while ago and he was like an hour late leaving but he had wanted to get that work finished, or attampted to so it was in on time. He walked into one of the floo networks and said the place he wanted to go and he felt his body be sucked back into the firplace and twising into the green wall of flames. He arrived in the leaky couldron, and stepped out onto to the cobblestones and he grinned when he saw the group he was here to meet. He heard them and he was on the other side of the room. Well he could hears Bart at least, which wasnt anything out of the ordinary. He moved to the bar and grabbed his drink before he walked over to the table and he leant onto the table seeing as it didnt look like there were any free seats yet. "Wow . . so this is what happens when Bart has too much to drink is it?" He said, a joking glint in his eyes as he looked around the table and flashed his smile. "Ladies . . " He said, his tone drwaling slightly as he said it and he looked at the teo gusy on the table and nodded. "Bart, Peter" He said in a friendly tone as he waved his hand and conjured a chair, dropping into it easily.

It never ceased to amaze her when British wizards and witches fail to hold their liquor. Having spent a large portion of her life in Russia, it was an exceedingly strange and foreign concept to her that people got quite so wasted after a drink or two. Of course, these people always did have the advantage of spending less money. However, this alternative also called for putting up with some humiliation. And the way that Bart was making a spectacle, there was no doubt in Raina's mind that the Auror would have to put up with at least some humiliation at the office. It seemed her that Bart had reached a point where he just didn't even know what he was talking about anymore, or at least she hoped he was...
“I appreciate the offer, but any cute bloke that approaches me, you better not castrate, or I'll castrate you,” she warned jokingly. It was hardly a secret that Raina had a bit of a thing for accents. Thankfully, accents for her was not difficult for a Russian witch to find in Great Britain. Despite her words, Raina was not such a big fan of protectiveness. She got a healthy dose of that type of thing going on back home, and she had enough of that sort of thing. A girl did not put herself out there to become an Auror only to allow another to hide and shelter her from the world. How very unnecessary.
Apparently, Bart was an easily excitable drunk if his welcome to Peter was anything to go by. For now, Raina seemed amused by his antics. Hearing a newcomer, Raina turned to see him. “Apparently,” she answered with a nose wrinkle. The newly-made Auror recognized the newcomer as one of the Auror trainees. “Please don't tell me you're a cheap drunk,” she said teasingly.

Bartholomew let out a low laugh that seemed like he wasn't drunk at all as he soon started to walk straight, now acting like a true auror. Finally gazing around at them as if he had made this all up on the spot to become an act, before bowing politely before them all. Expecting applause, he glanced one eye open at them and then did a rather loud throat-clearing -ahem- to catch their attention. Just in case they had missed his good-nature bow that was certainly one not to miss, and he knew he had the grace of a feline. Funny as that was, it was really true, and even while he was slightly tipsy it made sense. Deciding to actually act like himself for a bit as he ruffled off all of the dust he thought was acquiring on his clothing.
Soon as he was done doing that, he tapped his feet on the ground once or twice until finding a seat as he ordered another drink. This time it was a butterbeer, and he planned on finishing it just as fast as those fire whiskeys that would soon burn through his entire system in ten seconds flat. Sure enough, he felt his stomach squeeze and convulse in pain until finally he was just clawing slightly at the table. Not a good thing to drink that much so fast, but he managed to keep himself upright making it look like nothing insane was happening within him. Forced smile on his lips as he looked at them all, wondering if he had gained an audience.
Bart soon made the vow he always did, to never drink again...until next weekend. That was the way it always worked, no matter where he went, but he wasn't off his rocker just yet. "Now, now, it was a joke, only a joke, in fact, if you wanted blood, all you really had to do was ask," he said to her politely, and then soon just waved his hand towards the waiter heading their way. Trying to snap his fingers to tell him to make it snappy, but ended up making a failed gesture with his hands, no sound echoing off of it. "Chase, and how is your work going? " he said in a rather amused voice.
