It was strangely warm outside on the Hogwarts School Grounds and the rays of the sun were bouncing off of the rippling surface of the Black Lake. A grin was on the face of a young male who was staring at it from his spot in the Library. He looked down at the books in his hands and then back outside. Quickly, he grabbed the books, checked them out, and put them into his school bag before he walked out of the Library and towards his dormitory. Of course, it was all the way down in the dungeons, seeing as he was a Hufflepuff seventh year student. Once inside of his common room, he ran up to his dorm and threw his school bag inside and tucked his wand inside the pocket of his dress pants. Thankfully the Hufflepuff was already in his school uniform. He was wearing the button up white shirt, grey sweater vest with his house colors aligning the collar, and his house tie as well as dress pants and dress shoes. He went from his dormitory to his common room, smiling shyly. He didn't seem to see anyone who wanted to talk to him, so he kept going, not bothering to tell anyone where he was going.
The lake was Damien Whitby's favorite place to be. He loved it there, especially when it was late and the moonlight softly reflected off of the still surface of the lake. Of course, Damien couldn't help that he loved to look at the moon. It was nice and calming when he had had a stressful day of classes or being bullied. Even as a seventh year Damien was often bullied, not that it mattered. This was his final year and after that, he'd be off to get a job and do something with his life that didn't involve....being around probably any of these people. Or so he hoped. Damien would really love to be the Herbology teacher here at Hogwarts, but he knew that wasn't going to happen. After all, the current professor was doing a fantastic job and he doubted they would get sacked or retire anytime soon. Damien wouldn't wish that on any one, even if he did want the job. Besides, it would take time to become a master of plant life before he could work at Hogwarts, or so he assumed.
Damien made it to the lake after a long walk and smiled happily before walking towards the edge of the dock. He sat down and rolled up the legs of his dress pants and then slipped his legs into the Black Lake. He grinned happily and leaned back, looking over the lake. He watched as one of the Giant Squid's long, large tentacles rose into the air far off and splashed down into the lake, sending water everywhere. Damien's eyes widened somewhat before he quickly pulled his feet up and out of the water, thinking that that was the Squid's way of telling him to get out of his lake. He walked over towards the grass and laid down on his back to absorb the sunlight before breakfast. He sighed a bit and just soaked up the rays of the sun above him. Damien's eyes were closed as he laid there, enjoying the sound of the birds and the soft rustle of the leaves on the trees. Today was going to be a good day, even if it was probably going to not go Damien's way.

alexis sighed as she headed out the castle, the grand doors already thrown wide open and she took a deep breath of the warm air, exhaling slowly and glancing about. it was a miraclously sunny november morning, and though alexis didn't often make appearances by herself, sometimes she needed the space from the rest of those inbaciles. she noted noone worthy talking to on first glances as she followed the winding paths down the grounds and toward the lake - which looked, despite the giant squid - oh so appealing in this heat.
she had donned her cloak earlier and now, she unclasped it and removed it, pulling off her slytherin jumper too. she didn't much like the uniform, and she tended to mix her own clothes into it - the proff's never noticed, or if they did they never said anything. she sighed as she ran a hand through her blonde locks, pushing them over her shoulder and out of her way. she felt a little out of sorts this morning - perhaps because she had awoken earlier than usual for no apparent reason, or because the warm sun had grated down her usually icy exterior. not that this meant she was any nicer than her cold-hearted, ruthless self but still.. she didn't feel like irritating anyone..which was unusual.
though she had probably thought too soon. not having noticed the stupid hufflepuff boy for the fact that she'd been looking elsewhere and he was pretty much in the way, she suddenly found herself flying forward for no apparent reason, her foot having connecting with something rather warm and sturdy. her hands flew out to catch herself on the hard ground and save her pretty face, and she winced at the impact, the air forced from her lungs. she coughed, taking a few quick raggedy breaths in attempt to rid that awful winded feeling and she quickly made to extract her long legs from whoever she'd fallen over. oh how humiliating.. infuriating! alexis turned so she was facing him, drawing her legs toward her and smoothing her skirt back down as she sat facing the idiot, a frosty glare already directed at him. "next time find somewhere less stupid to lay you idiot!" she snarled.
(ooc, hope ya don't mind me butting in here with her xD)
