It was time to dance the night away and Vasilisa couldn't wait another moment. She had actually put some extra effort into being on time for the ball. Her dress fir her perfectly, showing off each and every curve she had. Her long dark locks were fixed into loose curls. a pair of black high heels were placed upon her feet, she only needed to place on her mask to make her outfit complete.
Making her way down to the great hall Vasilisa hoped her partner loved to dance, but more important she hoped they were worthy of her company. If her night weren't horrible she would be furious. It wasn't too hard to ask for an amazing night was it? Upon arriving at the entrance to the great hall Vasilisa was given a ticket with the number sixty-two on it. After being directed to a list on the wall she discovered she was to be at one of the empty tables for her partner had not arrived yet. Surely she/he wouldn't keep her waiting long.
Vasilisa made her way over to the table and took her seat, glancing around at all the other pairs. It seemed that tonight was not going to, as many of the females thought, a date night Vasilisa's table mate could very well be a female, something she hoped for more than a male.
((sorry it's so lame Jade))

Apparently all of the stops were being pulled out for what should have been Elijah’s last year at Hogwarts. The tournament, all of the events, no expense was being spared. It would have made an awesome seventh year at the school, to go out with a bang as it were, but Elijah was almost just as content with it being his sixth. The masquerade ball was sure to be fun. Not as enjoyable as the Yule Ball, perhaps, but fun nonetheless. The sucky thing about the masquerade was that Elijah didn’t know who he’d end up with. He definitely knew who he wanted to end up with; everyone in Ravenclaw, or who was mildly close to he or Molly, or had eyes, probably knew who he wanted to end up with, but the chances of his being paired up with his two year girlfriend with hundreds of other students in the school were minimal. He’d resigned himself to the fact that he would have to spend one evening without his number one girl.
His attire was simple. Like lots of guys attending the masquerade this evening, he had no fancy mask or extravagant appearance to go with the theatrics of the night. A simple silver mask fit his face nicely (the only guard to his identity, he didn’t want to waste the time enchanting it to make recognizing him impossible), and a tux made him look his best. It felt odd to be even mildly dressed up… he liked to look good and proper yes, as a prefect he felt he should always look presentable, but dressed up to this level, especially not around anyone he knew, was just plain odd.
He left the Ravenclaw commons area fairly early, actually. Most of the girls, and even some of the guys, were still getting ready and not yet making their way down to the great hall where the evening’s festivities would take place. He, however, didn’t immediately set off to the makeshift ballroom. Holding his mask in hand, so that he could head straight from his little walk to the masquerade, he wandered through the school halls to the quiet courtyard. Usually it was never empty; there was always a couple holding hands on a bench or a student using the peace and sunshine in the area to do homework. Today, obviously, everyone’s minds were elsewhere, which suited Elijah just perfectly. He wanted to be alone.
If she were here, she would have been in her fourth year. Finally growing up, probably having already had her first innocent little boyfriend. She’d be with all of the other girls her age, giggling in their dorm room, doing each other’s hair and makeup before heading off to the masquerade for a night hopefully with ‘prince charming’. Swallowing, Elijah sat on one of the benches and clasped his hands in front of him as he stared at the floor. For some reason he’d always thought that she would have liked the courtyard. Maybe it was because to him the courtyard was a fairly carefree place, and he’d always see Amara as that. A carefree little girl. She’d never get the chance to grow up to let her joyous smile be dampened by heartache and bad grades or any sort of stress…
As the first, and only, tear fell on the paved floor between Elijah’s feet the clock tower chimed far above his head. It was time for the masquerade to begin, and with the distance from the courtyard to the great hall Elijah was already sure he’d be late. Oh well, there was nothing he could do about it now but try and get to the great hall as quickly as possible. He slid the silver mask firmly into place over his eyes, holding it in place with a simple charm and his wand, and hurried to the great hall.
The list on the wall directed him to a table where his partner was already seated, hopefully not too impatient and irritated at his late arrival. It was a girl, which Elijah found rather unfortunate seeing as he might prefer some rather carefree male company instead of the baggage that might come with a girl, but no stepping back now. He was going to make the best of this night. “I hope you can forgive me for the wait,” he apologized with a slight smile as he sat at the remaining chair. “I lost track of time."

Vasilisa waited patiently as she began to feel quite bored watching others make introductions with their partner while hers was somewhere, hopefully on their way. She really didn't mind waiting but the clock had chimed announcing that the ball would be starting and Vasilisa hoped she wouldn't be left her sitting all alone. That would surely ruin her reputation if any passer byers had placed who she was. It would be the talk of the next day how Vasilisa had been stood up. Either way Vasilisa would make the best of the evening even if she didn't have a dance partner. She could simply crash someone else's table and join in their conversation if she grew that bored. Vasilisa smirked to herself at the idea of crashing another table, she wondered if she could find Alexis and steal her away from her date.
Vasilisa glanced around the great hall searching for anyone who was heading in the direction of her table. She saw a guy walking in her direction that had a simple silver mask on. Vasilisa put a smile on, trying to ignore her usual bad habits of letting the boredom over take her. "It's fine. I'm sure many people have lost track of time. Not everyday we get to do these sort of things." Vasilisa said. She looked at the guy in front of her, he looked quite familiar but she was having a hard time placing it right away. Was it someone in her house or year?
"How is your evening so far?" She asked trying to make small talk.
