((OOC:
Dress
Mask ))
She didn't even really want to go, if someone honestly asked her. Hanging around others in large social settings was uncomfortable, and it never really gave a chance for you to even really get to know a person. Heels and a dress made it hard to fight, and having a wand in your cleavage is about the most uncomfortable feeling as one could imagine in this situation. Luckily for this evening, Chun did have a purse that fit the wand inside, but kept it unzipped... in case of trouble. The slytherin always made sure she was ready for trouble. It came with the territory of being the hot-blooded one. Not that the Chinese girl minded, but it didn't hurt to err on the cautioning side.
Of course, it didn't matter if her “date” never showed. She couldn't care less who it was, but the masquerade was bloody dragging on without anyone around to mess with. She shouldn't have signed up in the first place, but of course, Chun had to keep up appearances somehow. Something to keep her father from asking too many questions, and something to keep herself from becoming a full recluse. People could be so obnoxious at times, enough for the slytherin to just want to give up some days. Plants, music, and anger were so much easier to understand than people. She could leave that to Jacob and Olivia.
However, if no one was going to show for her table, then there was no sense in staying. She could spend that time for much more important matters than just humoring these social events. The slytherin tried to gauge the time, knowing that she had been waiting a good while now. She would give her “date” another ten minutes or so before she would retreat back to the dormitory. It was worth a lot more than just sitting her people watching. As much as she enjoyed it normally, wasn't nearly as fun when the expressions were hard to make out with the masks on. With a rough sigh, Chun rested a palm on her chin, elbow leaning on the table, as she waited for someone that she was half-hoping wouldn't show. ”... So much for doing something different for once.”
