Will, yes, he had signed up for this strange masquerade ball, but he hadn't been expected to be picked. Even if he was the one who got a secret invitation. Not even knowing what to dress up as, so he did the next best thing, himself, and wasn't going to be caught dead looking under-dressed. Oh no, he was going to wear a cow-boy looking brown hat with a nice old-school Western style mask. The kind you use to cover your lower half, but he did have the upper half covered too so he looked more like a cow boy from those muggle movies. Even going all out to the point to dress up with the leggings too and having the shawl to go with it. Covering his back and even the few gun holsters on his waist too, mainly as eye candy. Oh yes, he was bad ass, compared to everyone else, and was sure to get a few weird looks. Even the leather boots he was wearing had spikes on them with those jingling things most cow boy boots had...SPURS, that was it.
Yes, he even went all out and put a sheriff's badge on his left side, but as weird as it was, he was looking at another table. It seemed oddly familiar to him, so he then just sat there, waiting for his partner to show up, not sure if he wanted to actually do this. Asking them to join tables with his, but he also had to have advice. As his partner hadn't shown up yet, but Will was always early no matter what he did. Even if he had attempted combing his hair, it still wouldn't have changed a thing. Right now, he was more concerned about someone finding out about who he was, as his mask shimmered lightly against the light reflecting off of it. Oh yes, that was right, he was here to pretend to get to know someone else, and then reveal himself at midnight. Where was the fun in that? What if he wanted to keep his mask on? As amusing as it was to think of talking in an American accent, he was going to.
Also, pulling up a southern drawl to it, as he then spoke, "Y'all come back now y'here," he mockingly said, but it sounded funny as he sounded so Texan when he had said it like that. So yes, he was going to stick with that and no one would ever find out who he was...to pretend to be a transferred student. After all, Will could have been anyone as he pulled the two random tables together, hoping not to confuse people. So he made sure the numbers were still up there.

jessamine figited with the mask, looking down at it in deliberation. she was nervous, that much was evident. jez hardly ever took part in events - even the one's she couldn't avoid she was usually reluctant to participate in. she liked to keep to herself, and going to events like this usually struck her out like a sore thumb, especially because of how self concious she would always look - drawing more attention to herself.
she bit her lip and adjusted the mask to her face, messing with it as she hovered outside the doors to the great hall, still unsure. she could just do a run for it... maybe. she shifted on the spot, to go in or not...that was the ultimate question. on the plus side, she knew hugo had signed up, he'd be in there somewhere.. but on the down side, she doubted she'd be lucky enough to have been paired with him. she'd probably be with someone who'd try and pick on her - then she'd snap at them and things would go downhill from there. or if she got paired with a guy... he might try to flirt with her, and she definetly wouldn't be able to deal with that.. she didn't trust guys - except for her best friend, her boyfriend and her ex. hugo above all though of course.
sighing, she figured that at the very least, the dress deserved to be seen. she adored it, the fabric was soft and light, the colour a light seagreen and it shimmered beneath the lights, floor length to cover even the tip of her toes. taking a deep breath she pushed ope the doors and entered, biting her top lip as she collected her table number and ducked her head slightly, aburn curls tumbling forward over her shoulders as she headed toward her table... and her stride faltered. not because she'd tripped - she had her skirt firmly clutched in both hands to avoid that embarrasement. but because her table had been pushed to anothers, where a boy roughly her age sat by himself. what was this? a trick? a joke?
now really nervous, jez stumbled into her chair, cheeks flushed slightly as she sat and glanced at the boy, shifting in her chair and glancing about. oh this was awkward... jez really hoped hugo was sitting at her table...or even this one pushed to her's - seemed like this guy had wanted to double up.

Picking up the mask off the desk, hugo bit his lip and sighed. He really wasnt looking forward to this, if he could, he would just crawl into the bed and close his eyes and be doen with this whole masquarare shidig thing. But he was going, because he promised Jez he would, so it meant he would get out of his common room tonight even if all he wanted to do was sleep. He shoved his feet into his shoes and pulled his white jacket over his shoulders, he had chosen not to get dressed up, he was just going to dress nice. Which is why he thought the white jeans, black shirt and white dress jacket had seemed like the perfect idea. And teamed with the white mask, he had to admit that he looked pretty good.
He ran a hand through his messy hair to try and right it but he gave up on it quickly. He hurried out of the common room, but not before slipping his wand into his back pocket. He wasnt going anywahere without it, not after last time, not again. Since this was another major event, and he had to take the same route to the great hall, he wasnt taking any changces, some might call him a coward, but hugo knew he was just being smart. He half ran through the hallway's, not wanting to be late or anything, and his number was running through his head so he didnt sit at the wrong table. He slipped his mask over his face as he moved toward the great hall doors, it was a simple white mask, just enough to cover his eyes. He pushed open the huge wodden doors and walked through them.
He looked around for the table he was at and he found it, walking over to ti he pushed around people, most people had actually made some effort, and some of them just looked ridiculous. Like the guy who was sitting at his table. He raises an eyebrow and looked at the person dressed as a western sherrif. He had watched a few old western movies with Jez. "Arent you missing your horse?" He said with a grin. He was only joking, and he turned to the girl sitting at their table and smiled, he held out his hand to her. "And hello . . " He said, she was dresses up so beautffully, he couldnt help but be the gentleman his mother had raised him to be. She looked familiar, what with the red hair, but until she looked at him, he wouldnt have a clue on guessing.

Breanna loves parties; school held party or no. The Masquerade ball was no exception, Bre made sure she signed up for that. Apparently you end up getting paired up with someone... it's different from some of the other parties Bre had been to, but the Slytherin decided to give it a shot anyways. With her outfit, Bre decided to go all out on everything. She chose a Slytherin green ball gown, and a green mask. It'll be pretty obvious to whoever she's paired up to that Bre is in Slytherin... just based on her apparel. She didn't really care, so what if her outfit made her house predictable. Like most other girls in her house, Breanna took her time in getting ready, making sure her hair and make-up is absolutely perfect. She managed to finish just in time to head down to the Great Hall. She was a bit excited to see who she was paired with… but then again, if it was somebody boring, well the night is going to be dull.
The Great Hall was decorated, and as with any other special event held at Hogwarts, the Great Hall was beautiful today. Bre didn’t pause for long to admire the decors though; the Slytherin quickly received her number, and went to check the board for her table number. After that, she left to find the table that she was assigned. She managed to also do that quickly, but instead of finding her two person table, it seemed as if the other students decided to double up. That was alright with her. She took a seat beside a girl with red hair, though her attention was immediately on one of the guys sitting at the table. Bre giggled, “What are you supposed to be?” she asked. Her voice wasn’t unkind, she merely found his outfit to be quite amusing.
( I'm so sorry you guys had to wait on me! will do better, sorryyy! )

she chewed her lip, glancing up as she heard a very familiar voice. "Arent you missing your horse?" she grinned, a flood of relief flowing through her as she saw her boyfriend hugo joining their table. thank god! someone she could actually talk to and dance with and generally just.. not be awkward around. her eyes glazed over his features, noting how handsome he looked in his simple outfit, the mask fixed to his face. but she still knew it was him - she knew his defined cheekbones, chiselled jaw and the deep ice blue of his eyes.
"And hello . . " but apparently he didn't recognise her. her eyebrows raised and she looked at him, her blue eyes raising to meet his, a teasing smile on her face as she made to take his hand and shake it lightly. "nice to meet you... stranger," she laughed lightly, rolling her eyes and shaking her head slightly. she wasn't surprised he didn't recognise her, it wasn't often she went around dressed like.. well this.
chewing her lip she glanced at the other two at the table, noting that a girl had now sat and turned her attention to the boy dressed as a cowboy - that she found rather amusing, and surprising. she'd watched cowboy films on occasion, but she didn't think many students at hogwarts would even know what a cowboy was. the girl was clearly a slytherin, and so jez couldn't help but feel a little aprehension .. hopefully she wouldn't start anything. but hey.. at least she was lucky enough to get paired with hugo.

Will was sitting there and just crossing his arms across his chest slightly disappointed no one had dressed up as well as him. Not that he really needed to, but he was more or less concerned with how these other people were going to talk with him and so far he didn't recognize any of them. Odd as that may sound he was actually hoping he got teamed up with Lyra, but then it would have been obvious who he was after all. It was hard to hide his voice from her since he knew that she was rather obvious with him no matter what she was wearing, but at least she didn't look like a raccoon. That was why he loved Lyra too, but right no he was more intent on passing a sheriff once again.
"Well, hello y'all, how are you? ANd yes I left my hoarse back at the stables in America, I'm so not used to this. I'm totally out of my element so beg yer pardon fer a moment," he said slowly so they understood him. It was obvious Will was having way too much fun with this, but he didn't care right now. They were free to guess who he was, but he looked over at the Slytherin at the table realizing she looked incredibly beautiful despite her get up. Either way, he had to think of Lyra the whole time considering the way other people were dressed, but Will's original partner was the boy across from him.
"So, partner, what are you in for? Strangling steeds?" he asked Hugo, obviously turning his attention on to him and started to play with the badge on his chest. Grinning stupidly, but they wouldn't be able to see his grin either thanks to his bandanna covering his face. It was a great way of camouflage, until someone was stupid enough to remove it. Will hoped these people wouldn't do that just so he had the element of surprise.
