Wake up in the mornin' feelin' like P-Diddy.... Just kidding. Fee stretched as she woke up, her wand buzzing, her eyes squinty. Burried beneath pillows and blankets, she emerged, rubbing sleepys from her eyes. Swinging her legs over the side of the bed, she stumbled to her bathroom. Brushing her teeth first, she grabbed her toothpaste and toothbrush and started scrubbing. A few minutes later she set down the toothbrush and ran her tongue along the newly cleaned teeth. Running a hand through her short pixie hair, she combed her bangs down over her face, then shook her head a little. It fell exactly into place. Putting on some somewhat heavy eyeliner and some bright eyeshadow, Fee left the bathroom.
Skipping breakfast, she got dressed and fed Frank, her cat. He walked in between her legs as she walked through the house, grabbing things on her way to the door. Dressed in jeans, a black long sleeve top, a bright yellow scarf, and her zip up sweatshirt, Fee was on her way to go to Diagon Alley. Stepping into her fireplace, she shooed away Frank and then grabbed some flu powder. Throwing it into the hearth she yelled, "Diagon Alley!" In seconds she was emerging from another fireplace, brushing dust and soot off her body.
Walking down the cobblestone street, she gazed at all the different shops. It had been a while since she'd been here, but she remembered where her favorite shops were. Stopping at a shop for animals, she grabbed some food and toys, paying a few galleons for them. Money had never been a problem for Fee, because her adoptive parents had left her a fortune. But spending it a lot was something she tried to avoid. Exiting, she jogged up a small hill to get to her second favorite shop: Quality Quidditch Supplies. She had a broom, once upon a time, but it had been snapped during a mission to retrieve a dragon someone had been keeping at their home. The thing was almost an adult and had begun to carry people off. It had swiped her off her broom and then crushed it.
So needless to say, she needed a new one. Fee opened the door and a little bell jingled above her. Walking around a few kids and a large group of teenage guys, she maneuvered to where the display of the best broomsticks happened to be. She wanted something fast, something light, something amazing. She had always loved the feel of the wind in her hair. Well, what little hair she had. Touching a jet black broomstick, she smiled. The smell of broom wax hit her nostrils, and she hummed. It was such a nice smell. It was actually an attractant of hers. Men who smelled like that were amazing. Fee twisted her hand in the air and the bag of cat food and the cat toys disappeared, already sitting on the counter back at her house. She'd perfected wandless magic. It had taken a decade, but she did it.
Now she was ready to pick up the broom. Fee glanced around, looking for the owner, or at least an associate, who could help her out. She wanted to test its weight, to see how smooth the wood was, and to see the condition of the twigs at the bottom of the broom. Pulling her bottom lip in, she stood on her tip toes and looked around. With her height she could pass for a student. Trying to not blend in so much with the others in the store, she continued to look for someone to help her, her hand still resting on the glass containing the broom she wanted.

Since there were enough people at the shop that day to keep an eye on the store, Connor was in the back trying to work on his racing broom. He had been working on creating one for a year now, placing some spells on it, trying it out and feeling like it just wasn’t good enough. He had just finished putting together a new one, getting the twigs on the back just right and standing up straight to look and see how it turned out. It really was quite nice looking, but then again with remaking a new broom, after new broom, he pretty much perfected that part. It was just getting the right spells placed on it the right way. Deciding that he should perhaps take a break he picked up the broom and placed it in the cabinet against the way before heading on out of the back part of the shop.
He walked out into a somewhat busy place as one of the employees seemed to be rushing around a bit. Often Connor thought they over reacted when they only had a few customers, always rushing around like it was super busy. Not that Connor minded as he didn’t really care as long as they got the job done.
He was glancing around at all the customers there when he noticed someone he thought to be familiar, yet he couldn’t quite think of her name. For a moment he just stood there, staring at the young woman that had a pixie haircut that actually looked really good on her, compared to some woman who tried it out and it just didn’t fit them. Then he realized that perhaps he was staring a bit much, so he decided to head on over there to see what it was that the young woman wanted. “Good Morning Miss, what can I help you with today?” he asked her lightly with a slight bow. When he stood back up he looked over to see what broom was in the case. It happened to be one of the newer brooms in the bolt collection, the Icebolt. It good broom, one of the ones that were hard to top. Of course the Skybolt series managed to do so.

Felicity’s fingers rubbed the glass, her eyes yearning to pick up the broom. The bustle of teenage boys knocked her back and forth, and she gave them a look. They obviously didn’t care, since they kept walking. Clearly her small stature made her look like a girl their age, so they didn’t really care. She shifted her stance, her hair waving in her eyes. Taking her hand from the glass, Fee decided to move to a new display, until a man approached her. She could see recognition in his eyes, as if he knew her from some past experience. And in truth he seemed familiar to her as well. She couldn’t quite place where she knew him from, but she knew that it had to have been from when she was at Hogwarts.
She smiled as he called her a miss. She watched him bow slightly, then stuck her hand out for him to shake. She noticed him eyeing the broom in the case. She wasn’t quite sure if he was an employee here, or if he was just another customer. “It’s the Icebolt,” she said, her voice ringing out. “It’s one of the fastest brooms. I need a fast broom. Slow brooms whomp, and my last broom got destroyed while on a mission.” She shrugged her shoulders, brushing off the comment as if it was a bug. There was nothing she could have done about her Skybolt getting destroyed. But she knew that she wasn’t willing to spend quite as much money on one this time. She swiped her bangs back a bit, revealing her blue eyes. Looking up at the man, she noticed he was kind of handsome. And still very familiar.
“This is going to sound strange, but have we met somewhere before?” Fee raised her eyebrows and studied him. He was definitely someone that she knew from school, but who?! Then it hit her. He was the owner of this shop. He was the younger brother of her childhood best friend, Arianna! A grin broke out on her face. She was somewhat embarrassed that she hadn’t recognized him right off, but was much happier now that she knew who it was. “I’m sorry, I know who you are now! I’m Felicity Jones, a friend of Arianna’s!” She turned back to the Icebolt in the display, her eyes wide with amazement. It would be the perfect broom. Another student brushed past her, and she huffed. Teenagers! Even animals weren’t that rude! She thought of Frank, and hoped that he wasn’t getting into the cat food that she’d just zapped home.
Sticking one hand in her pocket, Fee scrunched her face up. Maybe the Skybolt was what she wanted again. It was after all, the fastest broom out there right now. And she did love to fly fast… But the Icebolt was much cheaper than the Skybolt. She would have to test this broom out, see how it handled. Of course, she could handle any broom that she rode. Fee turned her attention back to the man before her, whom she knew as Connor. Grinning, she waited for him to reply to her brain jumbled psycho babble. She had opened her mouth and her usual word vomit had come out.

The Icebolt was definitely one of Connor’s favorite brooms. He just loved how sleek it was and the fact that they had made it a nice dark black rather than the normal brown color of a broom. He eyed the broom as well as the female he was helping out got excited about it. Of course he already owned one, well he owned many broom in fact. How could a young man that was inspired to become a broom maker not own a lot of racing brooms? That just wouldn’t be right.
Then the young female had mentioned something about recognizing him. Now that she put it out there, he couldn’t help but realize that he recognized her as well. “You know… I think I rec-” but before he could even finish she got all excited and exclaimed that she knew who he was. He couldn’t help but laugh as she went on saying that she was a friend of his sisters. “I think I remember seeing you tagging along behind my sister back when I was at Hogwarts,” he smiled at her before he turned to look at the broom that was in the case again.
“You know, if you want a fast broom, perhaps the Skyrocket 200 would be a better choice for you?” he suggested lightly. He wasn’t sure if it was in her price range; in fact he wasn’t even sure what job she had. Perhaps if he knew where she worked he’d have an idea of what she could afford. “But other than on the venture of getting a new broom, how have you been?” he asked Felicity curiously. He tried to remember back to his Hogwarts days. Though Felicity had been close with his sister, he didn’t really ever see Felcity as well, other than on the Quidditch field that was.

She smiled as she saw recognition alight in Connor's eyes. Now he knew who she was! Of course, they hadn't really hung out that much at Hogwarts, what with her being a couple years younger than both him and Arianna, but they'd seen each other in passing. And she thought he was home one Christmas when she spent it with Arianna. Before she could get some more words out though, he turned back to the display case she was looking at. He suggested the Skyrocket 200, something faster she supposed.
"Well you are the expert," she said, smiling. Brushing some fallen hair from her eyes she scanned the shop for that Skyrocket 200. There were too many people in the way to be honest, and she was a short woman. She turned her pretty blue eyes back to Connor. He'd asked how life was besides buying a new broom. She smiled and tucked her hands into her pockets.
"Well, work has been good. I work at the Ministry you know. I'm a field agent you could say, for the Department for the Control and Regulation of Magical Creatures. And my last field assignment left me without a broom, because you see, there was this man in Surrey, and I was told to go bring in a dragon he owned, as the muggles were catching on that things weren't right... Felicity caught herself droning on and on about her job, and she blushed. She could talk for hours on end and not notice that the person she was talking to had fallen asleep.
She nodded her head, embarrassed by her incessant talking. Surely he was bored to death now. He would most likely just point her in the direction of the broom and then check her purchase out and shoo her out of here. She wouldn't blame him, who really had time to stand around and listen to the droning ons of a woman who seemed crazy? "Haha, yeah, sorry about the word vomit. How have you been Connor?

Connor smiled as he listened to Felicia talk about her work while he opened up the case to pull out one of the Skyrocket 200. It was actually quite interesting to hear about where she worked as well as why she lost her last broom. “Hey it’s fine, I don’t mind listening,” he smiled as he held the Skyrocket 200 before her. It was a nice sleek broom, the best one out there so far. Of course Connor hoped that one day he would be able to make the best racing broom line out of all of them.
“So what do you think?” he asked with a slight smile. He knew that she would probably like it because if he remembered correctly she was on the Quidditch team for her house when she was at Hogwarts. And as a former Quidditch player, who wouldn’t like the fasted broom in the Magical World. “But I’ve been great. I’ve became the owner Quality Quidditch Supplies and I’m working on trying to create my own racing broom line,” he said confidently. “If you want I can shop you the part of the shop where I work on my brooms? I think that you’ll like it,” he suggested lightly.

Fee grinned. Her body was on fire right now. He was taking the broom out of the display, and she had the urge to reach out and grab it, jump on it, and fly away. She contained herself though, and merely beamed as he showed it to her. She reached out a hand and ran it down the length of the stick, reveling how it felt underneath her fingertips. This broom was the one. It was the one that would be hers. Connor started talking then, about what he was doing with life.
He was trying to design his own broom line! That was awesome! And he was the new owner of this place? That was pretty neat too. Then he offered to take her out back and show her his prototypes and stuff. Bouncing on the balls of her feet, she nodded her head yes. She was like a kid in a candy store right now! As they made their way out back, she held the broom in her hands, marveling in its beauty. "I love this broom. I think it's exactly the one I need." She beamed up at him, her spiky blond hair falling back behind her ear. She dug around in her pocket, checking how much money she had.
They entered the back room, but she was too busy looking longingly at the broom in her hands. It really was perfect. She looked up at Connor again. "You know, I think it's awesome that you are designing your own line Connor. I know it'll be a great on too. You were always so good at Quidditch back in school." Smiling, Felicity patted his bicep. "So, what do we have? What's going on back here? Is there anything that I might be able to help you out with?"

Connor could see the excitement in Felicity’s eyes and of course the side of him to be a true gentlemen kicked in. “How about I give it to you half off?” he said with a quick smile, quiet enough to where the other shoppers couldn’t hear him. He didn’t want everyone else to think that they could get it half off as well after all. Just Felicity, as to why only her? Well for some reason there was something about her that was different than most girls. Sure he knew her in school and this is the first time he’s seen her in several years, but this he was already feeling different around her. Especially when she touched his biceps. It sent a small shock of a feeling he’s probably never felt before, through his body. But he ignored it at the time; after all he wasn’t all too sure on what he was feeling.
“Well if you want you can test flight one of them,” he smiled before deciding to lead her to the backroom. “Come one I’ll show you some. Though, we’ll have to go out to a big open field, just in case. I’m still working on them after all,” he chuckled lightly as he headed into the back room. The back room had all sorts of brooms lying around. Some of them were stripped down and others were intact, due to the fact that Connor was working on trying different spells and many other things to make his brooms work better. He had many of the brooms that were already made to look at and compare that was just how he was. “Well I hope you don’t mind a bit of a mess,” he blushed lightly.

Fee practically skipped next to him as he led her down the hallway and into his workshop. It was covered from wall to floor with prototypes of sorts. There were some that were completely done, but still not flyable. It was so cool to see all these different broom ideas that Connor had! She had always known him to be into flying, but she didn’t figure him to be so into it that he would own this shop and try creating his own line! Bouncing up and down beside him, she turned her head. He was going to give it to her for a discount?! Awesome! What a great guy he was. She did notice of course that he kept his voice down, so as to not let everyone in the store know that he could do that. Then he wouldn’t be making money as everyone would ask for the same discount. She smiled to herself. He was just as charming as he was at Hogwarts. She noticed the face he made when she touched his bicep. She was almost tempted to touch it again, but restrained herself, placing her hands in her pockets. She wandered around the room, touching everything in sight. It was all so amazing. Her fingers trailed across the mismatched parts. Everything was beautiful.
At the mention that they could go and try some out, she whipped around, skipped up to him, and stood right in front of him, her big hazel eyes looking up into his big brown ones. ”Could we really Connor, that would be awesome! she said, her eyes sparkling, her mouth in a huge grin. That would be so sweet to do! She would love to go take these prototypes out for a fly. She was a dare devil, and she thought that doing this would be so much fun. ”Can I pick one out to fly? Or should you pick one out, one that won’t dump me off.” She grinned, lightly touching his arm. Flirting for sure. Fee realized she was doing the flirting, and quickly shoved her hands back in her pockets. She didn’t really know him all that well, so she shouldn’t be flirting like this. He was only the brother of her childhood best friend.
Turning around, she swept her gaze over the brooms again. She set them on the broom she was going to buy, the one he was giving her for half off. She definitely wouldn’t be getting knocked off that broom. And nothing would be able to keep up with her, unless someone else had that same broom. Which judging by how fast it was, and how expensive it was, most people probably didn’t buy it. She turned on her heels and looked at the broom closest to her. It had long bristles, and a rather long shaft, with gold pedals for her feet to rest on. She wanted to pick it up, to weigh it and see how well it balanced. If she could, this would be the one that she wanted to try out. Fee turned her head towards Connor, her face smiling and her eyes almost pleading. She wanted to try these out.

Connor couldn’t help but smile as he watched Felicity look around at all of the brooms he was working on in the room. He had to admit to himself, that she looked really cute the way she bounced around the room. Even though he didn’t remember a whole lot about her, he did remember how energetic she was when it came to Quidditch and flying. She was still as cute as she was back then, but back then Connor wasn’t as interested in girls, some wouldn’t even think he was now with how often he kept himself locked up in his shop. He was actually surprised that Teddy hadn’t tried setting him up on random blind dates.
“Could we really Connor, that would be awesome!”Connor chuckled lightly at her excitement, she looked like a small child getting her first broom with how excited she was. “Can I pick one out to fly? Or should you pick one out, one that won’t dump me off.” and Connor blushed as she touched his arm for a second time. Was she perhaps flirting with him? Or maybe it was the fact that she was so excited about trying out one of his brooms. He wasn’t really sure. After all, he was a guy and didn’t understand how girls think. The honestly thought that there should’ve been a class on girls or a book. Because girls were hard to read and always seemed to give mixed signals, yet later on would say they were giving clear signals. Oh well, he’d have to figure it out on his own after all.
“It’s probably best that I pick out one for you to ride, don’t want you to choose one that hasn’t been charmed properly,” he chuckled lightly before walking over to a mahogany colored broom and he picked it up. “It’s also probably best to go to an open field. I mean, I don’t want something to go wrong and for you to accidently run into a building or another person,” he smiled lightly before handing her the broom for her to look it over. If she was anything like her when it came to broomsticks, he had to look it over before he flew on it. That was just how he was. He needed to know how it felt, down to each and every bristle. Yes, Connor was obsessed with racing brooms.

Fee squealed when he placed a prototype broom in her hand. She felt its weight, touched the bristles to test for sturdyness, and grasped the shaft of the broom to see how strong it was. Satisfied that it was to her liking, she almost threw her leg over it, but remembered that they were in his shop. She blushed a little at her antsy self. She took him by the hand and looked up at him. "Well then, lets get going! We'll apparate there." Within seconds they were twisting and turning, their bodies molding together for a brief milisecond before they were thrust to the ground, her legs wobbling a little bit. She was awfully good at this, until the part where the landing came in.
She shook her head, trying to clear it. Then she realized she was still holding his hand and she quickly pulled her own away. Embarassing! He must think her weird now, especially since she'd taken his hand to begin with. She pulled the broom close to her. She'd brought them to her favorite field to fly in. It was full of hills and filled with thick green grass that you could just lose yourself in. She loved to just come here and lie in it sometimes. It smelled so sweet. The wind was blowing, tossing what little hair she had.
They were standing underneath a tree, a big weeping willow. Its long branches and vines curled around them, some flowers budding on it, even though it was autumn. Yes, the tree was magical. She inhaled the sweet scent of grass and flowers. "This should be a pretty good place to fly, huh?" she asked, her face alight with joy. She threw one leg over the broom, placed her feet on the pegs, and leaned forward. The broom shot off the ground, sending her fly through the air. She laughed, closing her eyes. Not many would dare to close their eyes while flying a broom, especially one that was not yet on the market.
She looked back down at Connor and motioned for him to join her. This was amazing! Fee was having the best day she'd had in a while. She zoomed around on the new broom, laughing. The feeling of the wind in her hair was amazing. She was high up in the air now, and it was getting a little colder than she was willing to be, so she dropped altitude a bit. She looked around her for Connor. "This is SO great! I can't believe that you let me try this! You barely even know me!" she said, her eyes alight with joy. He was really kind to have done this for her. Too kind really, he didn't even know her. He knew of her from being at school, but he didn't really know her. What was to stop her from taking off with the broom and presenting it as her own? What was to stop her from destroying all his work? Not that she would, she wouldn't ever do that. But still.
Was he doing it because he liked her? That thought made her cheeks flush in the cool breeze. Fee wasn't sure if that was the case. Men were so hard to read! They were always so calm and collected, and barely betrayed their emotions. Whereas women always came clean about their feelings, mostly though show. They dressed nicer, had on make up, did their hair different, anything to catch their guy's attention. But Fee didn't know if Connor even liked her like that. After all, as she'd thought before, he barely knew her.
