The day was gorgeous out and there were only a few clouds hiding the horizon from his line of sight. Seizel had actually gone out to round up most of the Quidditch team that he could, but he didn't hold it against him if none of them actually showed up. After all, this was just a practice game, nothing too intense or real, even welcoming other teams to practice against if they so wished it. After all, there was nothing better than an actual practice game against another house that would make him prepared for what was to come. The only thing he had to worry about was the tiny little snitch flying around in the air, but the fact there was silence right now as the joyous part.
Even as he was carrying out the huge box full of Quidditch equipment onto the field wearing the Ravenclaw's Quidditch colors, having gotten fitted in the dressing room before the match. There was enough time to at least realize he had a strategy for all of them to follow, it wasn't a legit one, but it kept him most of the night. There were light bags underneath his eyes to indicate how tired he must have been, but he was doing it for his team. That was what kept him going, his perseverance to detail and wanting to win the upcoming games in the future. Finally opening the chest and looking at the two bludgers already shaking the chest around like crazy causing him to step back as always.
Not undoing the straps yet until the beaters actually got here so they could take care of them..as it would be quite a feat to handle both of them on his own. Undoing the straps for the snitch he picked it up, and then let it go up into the air. The air whipped around his short curly brown hair, and then as the snitch's golden wings fluttered out it took off into the air. Seizel could hear the whir of it as he had already watched it fly away to fly around the Quidditch pitch. Smirking as he then had his broom at the ready, and was using it as a leaning post while putting both of his gloved hands on the top of it. Maybe if he was lucky someone else would gladly join him before he set off to find it. Even being the keeper had it's advantages, but he hoped at least his seeker would show up for some practice too.
His brown eyes also stared out at the flat grass on the quidditch pitch and the many different greens it had on the ground. The stands weren't too far away either and the goals on either side were easily way up in the air. Seizel soon mounted his broom and let it soar in the air for a bit as he got onto it right away. Planting himself firmly so he was at least comfortable while riding it and had all the necessary skills to just perhaps even beat his own team members at it. After all, he had plans on being a professional Quidditch player too, just relaxing at the same time as enjoying the fresh air. Breathing in a huge breath through his nostrils and then expelling it through his lips. It was time to get things rolling and he was about to just go after the hoops himself to see how fast he could throw and defend at the same time out of boredom.
Staying on the ground for another few minutes until people actually started showing up.

Rose had been up rather early this day, unable to sleep. No matter how hard she had tried she just couldn't get back to sleep so finally she had gotten up and began to plan which days practice could be held for the Gryffindor team. Finally it was late enough in the day that she headed down to the great hall. As she passed she heard the Ravenclaw quidditch captain, she thought his name to be Seizel, inviting the ravenclaw players as well as people from the other houses to have a practice game. Keeping that in mind she entered the great hall where she hurriedly ate before finding members of her team to see if they wanted to join as well.
With the promise of a practice quidditch match Rose ate quickly before racing up to her dorms to find her broomstick. Her new icebolt that she had gotten during the summer. She had very few opportunities to fly it of yet and she was going to take every opportunity to practice with it before an actual game. Dressing into her gryffindor quidditch robes while in her dorm she tied her hair back before heading down to the pitch, broom in hand.
It was a beautiful day outside, with very few clouds in sight. Her brown eyes caught sight of just the person she had been searching for although she had really expected more people to show up. Maybe they just weren't ready yet. Approaching him she put a smile on her face. Even though they were on different teams and she barely knew him there was no reason not to smile and be nice. Besides it was obvious that they both loved quidditch so there was that at least. "Anyone else show up yet?"

Seizel was already ready to just take off and shrug his shoulders until he noticed a Gryffindor walking towards him. Sure he was fine with just practicing with her but he wasn't going to do anything else until more people showed up. Looking around, it seemed the Quidditch pitch was actually desolate for a change, but if there were any other Gryffindors out there he'd gladly take the challenge. Be it boring or not, if he had two people with him, then it was all the more fun to try to take the quaffle from each other. Of course, right now he could only see himself defending the posts. Sure, she was a chaser, and he was a keeper, so it made sense to him to just let her try to score goals.
That's what practice was for after all, and until other people from the quidditch teams show up there really wasn't much else to do. Even with this match, he was already up on his broom sitting there while talking to Rose, and yes he knew who she was. It wasn't hard to tell by those robes, and the fact he had played against Gryffindor many times before. Nodding his head towards her, "Alright, I've got all day, so it doesn't matter if you hurry or not, I was expecting other people from my team to show up right away. Guess I was wrong," he said callously, and then smiled chuckling a bit.
Who would want to practice on a beautiful day when there were many other things to be done throughout the day. Sure, he knew that there wasn't anything else anyone could do at this moment time if they had classes, but Seizel usually skipped just to get more practice in when he obviously didn't really need an excuse to. Being the smartest boy in the house of Ravenclaw, but that was just his ego speaking for him now. Grinning when he saw Rose returning in her quidditch robes, obviously enthused that he might actually get to have a practice match for a change with an opposing team. Nothing better than sparring in the air with a quaffle and attempting to block goals or just fly around with the wind whipping your face.
Not only that, but just the thrill of having a match for a change right now. "We could just you know, wait until people show up still, you throw the quaffle at the hoops, I try and defend, that's the only way I can see this working...although we could also make it so that we both have no keepers. Since well, no one's showed up just yet, so we'd have to fight over the quaffle...hmm, that sounds too dangerous, I think we'll stick to me defending and you take your shots at me," he said to her...as he considered the many other possibilities. Some would think Seizel was cute when he actually couldn't think of something for a change, compared to his usual smart, intelligent attitude.

Rose had been hoping that there would be plenty of people. Sure practicing could be done with just two people but the more people there was the more fun and enjoyable she found practicing to be. Perhaps she should have found James or even Al before she had headed down to the quidditch pitch but now that she was here she wasn't about to leave. Perhaps as they started more people would show up? It was fun to try and steal the quaffle from other players but she had to agree with him. With just the two of them it was probably more dangerous than it was worth. "Sounds good to me."
Rose had been around Seizel often enough during matches to know that he was much better to be around when he wasn't showing off his smarts so much. Still smiling she looked around one last time to see if she could spot anyone in the distance heading down before swinging her legs over her broom and kicking off the ground. Flying high she could hardly believe no one wanted to practice on such a nice day. It was always better to practice for her in the nicer weather. She'd always take sunshine or even rain before the snow that would roll around soon enough.
The last match last year against Ravenclaw hadn't gone as well as she would have hoped. This one on one opportunity to practice with the keeper of the team was going to help her next time they had a match against each other. Having grabbed one of the quaffles she now held it in her arm as she sat on her broom. She'd at least wait for him to be ready before she started to score some goals on him. "Ready when you are!"

Seizel lounged on his broom, and he wasn't usually spouting off about how smart he was. It was just the way he came off sometimes when people asked for help and he could give them an hour description on what color shoes they were wearing or why toads were banned from being used as pets in the school. Strange stuff like that, but he may have been a spout of useful information at times. There were times when he made up stuff just to see how far they would go to believe him and then he'd tell them to look at a book if they were wrong. Focusing on the match right now, well it wasn't really focus as he was not really trying at all due to it being practice, but he loved flying. Soon all of his worries disappeared as he flew up in front of the Keeper's goal posts, slowy maneuvering his way in circles around each post. Getting some of the flying out of his system so he could stand sitting still at the certain point in time, and he was going to make sure she didn't score many goals.
After all Seizel was the quidditch captain of the Ravenclaw team AND the keeper of the team as well, so he had to make this count as one of his own awesome times to show her what he was made of. Gripping his broom tight, he was ready for whatever she was ready to throw at him, literally, but he didn't want the quaffle to hit him. A funny idea occurred to him, except he kept it to himself since it was rather dangerous in the long run. Plus, if they actually used bludgers during practice, that could only lead to problems with the other team members that got hit. Seizel honestly didn't want anyone to get hit by the bludgers and not be able to have them play in any upcoming matches. The wind was just the right temperature and it wasn't too cold just yet even as he had on his usual quidditch gloves making sure he was well-equipped to handle the speed and velocity. Seizel's broom was a newer one, but he couldn't remember the name of it at the moment.
It had good velocity, as well as awesome speed to it since he needed that to block quaffles from reaching the goal posts, but right now he merely gave Rose Weasley a meager nod showing he was ready. Plus it looked like he was serious as his smile disappeared and his raptor-like gaze showed him like an animal defending it's territory. "Let's see what Gryffindor's main awesome chaser has got...can she score a goal on Ravenclaw's keeper, and the captain of the team...let's see how many you can get in within five minutes," he held up five fingers, and grinned as he loved challenges like this...now waiting for her to make her move.

Rose was the captain of the gryffindor team and one of the chasers. Although the rest of her team had decided not to show up she was going to take this opportunity he had given everyone, even though they hadn't shown up. Flying around on her broom she waited for his signal that he was ready. Even if she wouldn't have loved quidditch so much she would have loved flying anyway. Getting a nod from Seizel she flew closer to him so she could hear what he was saying.
"Let's see what Gryffindor's main awesome chaser has got...can she score a goal on Ravenclaw's keeper, and the captain of the team...let's see how many you can get in within five minutes," If Rose wouldn't have been too busy trying to figure out her best strategy she might have said something about him being a great keeper but she figured he probably knew that already, or they probably wouldn't have made him captain. Rose was ready for the challenge. Grabbing hold of the nearest quaffle she flew around the pitch, waiting to see which goalpost gave her the best opportunity.
Only having five minutes she didn't waste much time. Gathering all her strength she turned and threw the quaffle as hard as she could towards the left goalpost. Now she had to just wait and see if it went through or not.

Seizel was veering in the air, just going back and forth between the goal posts to make it fair, but he noticed her starting to get serious. The wind whipped against his robes making them flow along his body and then he started to look around the area for a moment. Getting distracted by just the simple breeze and letting it whip about as he continued to look around. There was definitely no one else here, just the two of them as he watched her go get the quaffle. Crossing his arms to the point of getting impatient, but he wasn't, in fact he was just curious to see which move she'd pull out of her books.
He knew that Rose was the Gryffindor Quidditch captain so she obviously had to be good but it probably wasn't just because she was a Weasley. Those intelligent eyes of his followed her every movement, reading them in the air right before she made the throw. Already in front of the goal post and soon he was veering around the hoop to almost make it look like it would go through. Of course he was mainly wanting Rose to think that he was purposely missing it. Stopping quickly in mid-air, he soon did a one-eighty degree turn on the spot.
As he turned around, Seizel soon caught the quaffle as he almost fell off his broom reaching for it. Of course he had barely even managed to turn around to catch it in the long run. Gloved hand clasped around the ball itself and then threw it back towards Rose to let her try again. Soon he moved towards the middle goal post again this time ready for another throw, of course he may go easier. Since he almost died with that last catch, and he didn't want to show off anymore as he soon seriously got serious.
notes; XD Seriously got serious, love that line.

Rose had been watching him closely to see whether he was going to block it or not. She thought that the quaffle was going to sail through the post when at the last minute he turned and stopped it. Though he had almost fallen she was a little distressed that he had faked her out so well. The other teams couldn't get inside of your head. If they did it didn't turn out so well for you, they could know your moves.
Rose had to get more serious and fast. There wasn't much time left or so she thought. Catching the quaffle as Seizel tossed it towards her she tucked it under her arm once more and flew towards the posts. Rose studied him carefully as he was in front of the middle goal post. Gathering up as much of her strength as she could she hurled the ball towards the left post. She rather hoped that it went in but if not it was still good practice. Now only if more people would show up it would be a more intense practice. As she waited to see what was going to happen with the quaffle she looked down to the ground. It would be a shame to fall down that far, it was a long way done. She hoped that he wasn't going to almost fall again.
notes; xD that's a great line

Seizel knew fully well that this was just practice as the wind whipped past his hair, circling the goal posts for a moment until she had the quaffle in her hands again. It was obvious his demeanor had changed almost instantly the moment she had caught as he stayed completely still. Then at the last second kicked off at high speed towards the goal post, however, he was a little too fast as he hit the quaffle face first. Rubbing his face lightly at the same time, but the quaffle ended up bounding off him into the goal by some profound dumb luck on her part. Frowning slightly, and blushing slightly thinking he was making a fool of himself. Might as well just have been face-planted right there.
Even as he tried shaking it off, the broom was a little wobbly and he was indeed almost looking like he was going to feint. Rose was stronger than she looked, however, he stopped short of the middle goal post as he zoomed off to catch the quaffle. If this was what he was like being serious, he was definitely off right now, or was it cause he thought Rose Weasley was actually cute. Nah, that couldn't be it, and his mind told him to stop trying to show off. Just do what you do best, and don't let anything else determine your attitude.
Seizel would continue as he threw the quaffle back at her, blushing still, "Yeah, don't mention that to anyone at all, I prefer that to be between us," he said to her, starting to tug on his gloves as he gripped his broom. Now he was starting to wander back and forth between the goal posts, following her movements. Also hovering to wherever she was trying to score, at least that's what he made it look like veering his broom upwards a little to give him a bit more leverage to swoop down. Notes;Thought you'd get a kick out of this post

Rose watched as Seizel raced to stop her goal from going in, only instead of actually stopping it he went right into the quaffle itself. It only went in from bouncing off of him though she knew enough from quidditch to know it would still count. If this were a real game she would have just gotten Gryffindor ten points but today it was ten points to Rose. She really wanted to laugh but that would have been rude. After all he had just been a little too eager to stop the quaffle from going in, surely everyone had that problem at some point in their life?
Rose watched as he shook it off and she went in search of the quaffle. Finally grabbing it she tucked it under her arm as he prepared himself once again to stop her. Only this time he hopefully wouldn't hurt himself. She really should have agreed to keep this between them but she had to tease him a bit first, she wasn't going to treat him any different than she would have treated anyone else, although it would have been worse if he had been family. he would have never heard the end of it then. He was actually quite lucky he wasn't related. "I dont' know. That might cost you."
Rose smiled as she thought about which goal post to through the quaffle through. There was still plenty of time left to practice. Rose for one wasn't in any big hurry to go anywhere. Once again she through the quaffle through the center goal post, not really caring much at this point if it went through or not. She was actually having quite a bit of fun. Injury to the keeper or not.
it was a great post xD

Seizel hovered in the air for a moment, cursing himself silently for that blunder for not having caught the quaffle properly. Surely he wouldn't be able to live that one down, but if he had indeed by anywhere near related to her he probably would have made fun of himself for that. Hearing her snide remark, he just gave her that impassable look almost reminding him of how his father looked at him when he was in trouble. Then shrugged his shoulders, considering he had a lot of dignity as a quidditch player, there wasn't much she could do to upset him. Even with the fact that he had a slight red mark from where the quaffle had bounced off of his face. Ignoring his battle wound, or so he called it, the face was just a minor importance compared to what was next.
Finally Seizel, decided to be rather serious as he had tossed the quaffle back to her, and even as nice as this was he could easily get bored. Even as he soared in the air around the goal post, having to veer back and forth, it was now obvious where she was headed. Not even speeding up as he regained his thoughts, and then just focused intently on where the quaffle was headed. As soon as it left her hand he was already right in front of the goal post catching it with his hand. Seizel knew he had sheer talent for this sport, but sometimes, he had a habit of showing off his skills too much.
Gloved hand catching the quaffle easily as he had slowed down just a little to actually focus on the practice game no matter how serious he was being. Right now, he was just deciding to go with the flow and have fun as he tossed the quaffle back once more. "You got lucky with that first one you got in," was all that he said.

Rose was beating herself up. She knew that she could do better. Still she knew that she had gotten one quaffle in and that was enough for her. Usually there were more chasers and with more chasers gave the better opportunity for a goal. Before the quidditch match against ravenclaw Rose knew she was going to have her team practice ten times harder than usual- they might not have a rivalry like gryffindor and slytherin, but rose was determined that she was going to do her best. And Seizel was a rather good keeper whether she wanted to admit it to herself or not. Rose noted that he had not said anything to her remark and she thought that maybe he was taking himself just a bit too seriously or that he had no sense of humour at all. Rose ignored that as the quaffle was tossed back to her.
With the quaffle in her hand she circled for a bit. "We'll see about that when we play later this year." Quidditch was always fun but it was just a tad bit better when the team you were on won. Rose made another note to see who the Ravenclaw seeker was this year, it shouldn't be all that hard to figure out. Deciding she had wasted enough time circling she turned and quickly through the quaffle through the center hoop, hoping to catch him off guard.
ooc; i know you've waited ages for this, sorry

Quinn decided to take a walk on the grounds today. He needed a bit of space from his very overprotective brother, but where could he go to escape him? Since they were in the same house the commons were out and he knew if he went to the library his brother would find him easily. Quinn just really needed a place to sit and do nothing. He decided to go to the Quidditch pitch maybe it would be quiet since no one played around this time. As he walked over to the pitch he heard voices coming from it. They sounded older and if he was right they were probably on the Quidditch teams. Quinn felt a bit like he might be intruding on their practice, but maybe that was what he needed. If his guess was right his brother certainly wouldn’t go and watch the practice so he would be able to stay here and away from his brother.
Quinn walked into the stands and watched the two older students play. He recognized the female older student as a member of his houses Quidditch team. If he remembered her name correctly her name was Rose, but the other person he didn’t know. He guessed the guy was a part of one of the other teams, but that didn’t matter to him. He watched Rose with very hopeful eyes. He always wanted to play Quidditch, but knowing his brother he would stop him no matter what. Quinn looked down at his lap for a good while somewhat sad. He was kidding himself there was no way he would be allowed to do any of this or be able to. He had never flown in his life and he probably never would. He looked back up at the two and watched them laugh and have fun throwing the quaffle around as if they had done this all their life. He wished one day he could laugh like them to.

It seemed there was no reason for him to even be up here anymore since he realized that she was indeed the quidditch captain. Even being the seventh year Quidditch captain of Ravenclaw, he hoped that someone talented would be replacing him next year as the slot would be opening up upon his leaving. Surely, he had plans for when that would happen, but right now his dreams were far from that. Each and every student had their own advantage at becoming part of the Quidditch team, luckily this is his forte as he caught the quaffle again with ease. Even as his attention soon turned towards the ground hovering around the hoops.
Raising a curious eyebrow as Seizel was the first to recognize the person down on the ground as someone he didn't know, tempted to throw the quaffle to the kid. Perhaps it would startle him, and get him to leave. Yet, he considered being nice for a change today, after all, he didn't feel like talking Rose's head off today. Even when he wasn't being super-intellectual and deciding to take on a few more things in his mind to contemplate why this lad was out here. Seizel felt a similarity between him and the boy. Not stopping at all, he soon veered off towards the ground to meet up with this said lad.
It was curious that Seizel would even show the slightest interest in someone like this new person on the field, and for the first time his humane side was probably showing now. Wondering why it was so unusual to help someone out though as he soon veered off towards the ground, and landing next to the boy. "Hey there, lad, I'm Seizel, Ravenclaw Quidditch captain, what do you look so down about?" he asked him curiously, tilting his head. Waving a hand up to Rose Weasley to come join him as he still had the caught quaffle, even if it had almost caused him to fall to his doom today earlier.
The mark on his face from the quaffle hitting his face earlier.
