Claire Lindy Gable was abnormally normal. How can this be you may ask yourself? Well, the Hogwarts population had always had standout students. Students who would excel in anything they would put the mind to. Whether it'd be in Quidditch, Herbology, Dueling, or inventing their own potions. Everyone was special in one way or another here. Not to mention that in everyone corner of the corridors you would run into a Seer, Veela and maybe, secretly, a Werewolf or two. But Claire did not fall into any of these categories.
Like her father, Claire was utterly normal, though she was bright and had managed to become a Prefect and a writer for the school's paper, she did not consider herself to have any special ability. While her mother could have passed a part Veela, Claire could not. Because she was not and neither was her mother, Brielle. The point is that Claire was just a plain old student. This morning, this plain old student could be found sitting at the Ravenclaw table. It was Saturday morning and, while most students were still asleep, she was up and ready to get to work. With just a week to go until the deadline to turn in her piece for the the Hogwart's Prophet, Claire found herself procrastinating a bit. She had her notepad with her, but at the moment was enjoying some cereal she had served herself. It was hard to write about the students when none of them were around. She'd just have to wait.

Seizel was another of the few Ravenclaws that happened to get up early in the morning to get ready to do some Quidditch practice, since he had the intelligence he needed to not even bother studying. As was his usual reason for going to Quidditch first, but in his spare time he could be seen with a book every so often. Even if Seizel wanted to he couldn't avoid the many on-lookers that passed him in the halls as he already had his Quidditch gear on from going down to the Quidditch pitch first. Sooner or later, he would have to come in to the great hall to get his daily vitamins from the delicious breakfast they usually had.
There were a few others at the Ravenclaw table, and Seizel was soon sitting down on the bench close to another Ravenclaw, whom he thought was a little prissy, but in her own rights she sort of was. Knowing they shared a silent respect for one another, although their little quips about one another never led to disaster. Seizel could only stand her, because she was in the same house. Making it a point to get along with his own house, even if he deemed himself smarter than her at times. Plus, he usually didn't bother studying, and got O's on most things he did anyways. Actually, almost aways got O's in the classes he took.
Seizel just didn't like flaunting his intelligence like other individuals did as he then picked up the paper on the table as he watched as his food conjured itself. A pancake, with lots of syrup and bacon on the side to top it off. Toast was there too, but it was lightly buttered, so he wasn't going to bother with it first. Moving his fork along his plate, he soon looked up to see Claire, one of the Ravenclaw prefects with a pen and paper. If he remembered correctly, she was part of the Hogwarts Prophet or whatever they called it. Sighing softly, he was probably going to be tortured by her questions.
Getting ready for the onslaught he quickly finished his food, and then drank a large glass of orange juice that was sitting there. Now he could give his full attention without being too rude, as he had quietly ate his food with all the manners he could use. Even then, he still managed to devour his meal, and then spoke softly, "Well, what brings you out here so early in the morning, Miss Gable?" he asked politely, not sure if she wanted him to use her first name or not, since they really weren't on a first name basis usually.

Claire's attention was not on Seizel, or anyone in the Ravenclaw table. She was too busy looking over the other houses as small groups of students walked in, ate and got out of there. Most of them would sit in pairs and have their own conversations that Claire had no interest in interrupting. She wasn't very popular around here, not because she was quiet or mean, but because people would simply choose to ignore her. Her teachers were fond of her, but the students didn't really care about her. She was invisible to everyone around her. This killed her, because she didn't really have many people to talk to. Sure, she had her housemates to study with but most of them had their own groups.
It had not always been like that. Claire was very outgoing during her early years at Hogwarts, she had friends to spare, but something along the way happened. Something she couldn't explain. All she knew was that she was completely invisible, which is why it surprised her to hear someone call her name.
She looked up from her notepad, where she had been drawing little, tiny flowers, and she saw Seizel. How long had he been sitting there? Claire hadn't noticed and was caught completely off guard. She quickly turned the notepad over, pretending nothing was there and smiled at him. "Captain Capper," she replied with a nod. "I was just doing some research for the paper."
Not entirely a lie. She had been studying people, but was hardly doing anything productive. She glanced down at her untouched pancakes and then up at Seizel again, noticing what he was wearing. "What were you doing?"

Seizel had walked into the great hall with a set goal in his mind, but now he had forgotten after talking with Claire Gable. One of the few Ravenclaws that actually the brains and looks to go with it. Sure, it was hard to say whether she was using one of her nasty ploys to get information out of him, however, he was curious as to what she could be hiding. Even the smartest boy, or so he thought, since his ego never showed at all. Only those were close friends with the Quidditch Captain actually know how smart he was. Getting O's in every class he took, so he found no point in doing homework.
Right now, he was probably just going to stroll through the library later to read every book in less than ten minutes since he could flip through them reading it with his wand. Uploading it to his brain and then putting the information away to remember at a later date. Unable to stop this process from showing itself, he soon nodded in return to Claire. Even as the curious action of her flipping of her notebook had indeed caught his attention. Strangely enough, he had to be even more curious as to pry into her secretive life without her knowing what he was doing. Seizel knew if she was smart she wouldn't converse with him for too long.
Even so, he did have an interesting query right now, "So, hiding it means it's something important or something you're ashamed of anyone seeing. Other than that, based on observation, one would say you came here for some other purpose though. The great hall is a prime source for information after all, and I was just out for my usual morning Quidditch practice that's all, nothing special," he shrugged his shoulders as he commented in return. Yes, that was a good start, better to ruffle her feathers than pluck them first. Seizel always played nice though when it came to his own house, as he usually did like avoiding the other Houses at times especially with the ones that had a habit of being mean towards the younger years.
It was mainly Slytherin that had the groups of people within that liked attacking the muggle borns and half-bloods as well as the blood purists too it seems. Even the word of Hugo Weasley had reached Seizel's ears the moment it happened, it wasn't hard to put two and two together since then.

Claire was confused. Not something that happened often, but it did happen when Seizel was near. One minute he'd be acting like a buddy then the next their “relationship” would be purely professional. Though she had just joined the team this year, Claire knew Seizel to be somewhat of a slave driver already, when Quidditch practice was on. She could feel her arms practically falling off and her muscles were sore as hell. She knew Seizel just had everyone's best interests at heart, after all, the whole squad wanted to win the matches, which meant everyone would have to practice just as hard. Claire did need a break, but she would never tell him, with fear that he would just go off and kick her off the team. Could he do that? Was that how things worked? She wasn't familiar with the Quidditch regulations and with what the captain could and couldn't do.
She realized he was talking to her, most likely about her paper and she pressed her hand on the back of the notebook. There was nothing interesting in there, nothing but the flowers she had been drawing, but still, she wasn't going to let him look through her notepad. A girl need to have her personal belongings be... personal and belonging to only her. She softly cleared her throat and pointed a finger at his chest, lightly resting it there for a second. “Please, please, tell me you didn't schedule a surprise practice for us. We all absolutely want to win, but... I think Mikah almost broke down into tears after the last one. We need a day to rest, Captain.”
Okay, so Mikah was never close to crying, as far as Claire knew, but she needed to use someone as an example to show him that everyone was exhausted. She pulled her finger away from his chest and took a piece of pancake in her fork, then brought it up to her mouth to eat it. After taking a drink of her milk, she turned to him again. “You know, you should rest too.”

This was crazy, one of his own Ravenclaw quidditch members was complaining that he worked them to the bone. It was up to them whether or not they showed up to the practice matches or not, after all this was just a mock training thing. Although, Seizel had to admit he did push them to their limits sometimes when he should easy off a little. Trying not to be a slave-driver was hard for even him as Claire walked up to him a blush distinctly working it's way across his face. Realizing that it wasn't just cause he had a slight crush on her, as he never really had developed one. Although, confronting him then and there, well he's just leave it at that.
A crush, since he already had set his eyes on someone else, but he then looked her back in the eyes with his steel, cool gaze. "You know, you are allowed to reject going to the practice sessions, I don't just expect everyone to come running when I call them. In fact, I will let people choose when they want to come to practices and what not whenever I have set them up. Although,, I suppose every week would just suffice for practicing instead of every two days, plus I've got my own things to worry about. I don't practice them out that much, besides I've also got to run the wizard's chess club. I'm sure they can handle it," he said to her.
Obviously he was considering the larger picture, but he didn't say they 'had' to be there. Plus his idle threat of taking house points away had been considered a joke by many, which it was. Since those that knew him, should know better than to take him seriously. After all, he knew he had missed a few days of practice himself cause he wasn't in the mood to play Quidditch, which probably usually caused the other members to breath a sigh of relief every so often.
