Steve had gotten up and had decided that he should get together with his sister Alarica. After all, there wasn't really much else for him to do today, considering the weekends here were normally full of boring studying or just hanging out with friends. Preferring the latter, he sent out an invitation to his dear little sister to meet in the court yard to chat it up to see how she's been doing. Not that they really needed to as he saw her every day, having purposely taken the same classes as her to watch over her. Even if it meant just forgetting about his own interests, yet he didn't want to deny her the pleasure of having the experience he had growing up in Hogwarts.
Even with all of the bullies and so-called blood purists out there, it was hard to keep track of her, especially due to the fact he had to keep her secret with him. Not that he could remember what it was, after all, it had been so long since he made a certain promise to his parents. For the life of him, he was racking his brain every day since he had started coming to Hogwarts to remember it. Steve had even been reminded of it before Alarica had started attending Hogwarts. It was amusing to see him distressed over something so simple, that surely wasn't. Even as complications would arise, he knew there would be many more opportunities to squeeze in a chance to remember.
Memory lane was usually kick-started by some event that normally happened with Alarica at it and he would remember what his parents had said for a short time. It didn't help that he was rather forgetful, but he obviously didn't forget about his sister ever. Wearing casual black dress pants, a white long-sleeved shirt with a brown coat covering him up, he continued to walk towards the court yard. Finally sitting down on a nice little stone slab that had some tables near it where he could put his books on to rest. Obviously, he was going to study sooner or later, but right now he was just relaxing from a long day's journey.
Going from the dungeons to the main floor, had been sooooo tiring, that he had to just you know relax some more. Just using that as his excuse so that he could actually procrastinate from doing his homework. Black shoes brushed the cement as he brushed back his short brown hair as his blue eyes looked out to look at the court yard. Alleged meeting spots were always teeming with people no matter where you went, so he had chosen the court yard due to it being in the open where not many people would mess with anyone else.

Alarica had been doing everything apart from studying that evening, sitting in front of a rather large book and staring blankly at it for at least twenty minutes of her "potions review". She never was one for boastful academia, and often stayed in the lines of what was needed, and nothing more. Instead she had gathered a large portion of snack food and counted her collectable frog cards, watching each until the image on the card vanished. The Miranda Goshawk card, she discovered, only stayed in sight for twenty seconds before suddenly dissapearing.
Before she even thought about heading for the courtyard (or studying, for that matter), the rest of her time was spent chasing after a stray frog. A chocolate one, that is. Call it an experiment of her own if you will, but she had set it free just to see where it would run off too. Alarica had chased it off until it ended up in the Commonroom, where a fellow Hufflepuff..stepped on it. Yes, that's right, her precious frog had been smooshed to its' death. And to think she could have eaten that.
"Well, that was rude," she spat off to the older boy, her eyes narrowing onto him. As soon as he had turned away she stuck her tongue out at him, mockingly of course. That was when she realized that she was already late for her meeting with her older brother. Just great.
Certainly Steve had expected her not to be on time, she never really was. She stopped to check her reflection before bolting for the Common Room portrait, her red hair blowing back with the wind that she was conjuring around her (due to her quick and sudden movements). Clumsiness must have ran in the family as well, because she nearly tripped when she reached the moving staircase.
Now really, whose bright idea was it to put in these things anyway? It was no wonder she hadn't seen any type of floor plan around the school, what with the ever changing rooms and pieces of the Grand Staircase. Her finger tips tapped impatiently once she reached the bottom of the stair set, waiting for it to swing around to the lower floor. Really, how could her professors blame her for being late when this was happening so often?
A little voice inside her head prayed that he wouldn't be upset with her for making him wait. She barely got to see her brother on a one-on-one basis now that they were back in school, and it was rather bothersome in her eyes. She whole heartedly enjoyed her brothers company, and she might go as far as saying he was her very best friend.
Once her mary-janes hit the floor beneath the bottom of the staircase she gave a sigh of relief, brushing past fellow students to reach the courtyard before Steve had given up on waiting. Her hand slammed against the door-frame that led outside (into the courtyard), catching her breath after the long trip towards her destination.
"Steve!," she exclaimed, heading over to him in a much slower pace. "Oh my God, I almost died getting here! You don't even know. And those damn staircases," she said, stopping as she stepped in front of him. "But I've missed you, missed..seeing you, you know, alone, actually," she added, reaching her arms out with a bright and cheerful smile. "So, don't I get a hug?"

"I was beginning to think the stairs had devoured you again, Alarica, it's good to see you sis, you been staying out of trouble? Oh, yes, no hugs for you, bad girl," he mocked her and teased her, then walked up to her, his lanky form wrapping his arms around her waist. As there was nothing much else to really say to her upon greeting as he let his eyes graze over her own smiling warmly. Oh yes, he missed her, and he tried to recall the memory his parent's had enforced upon him. It had something to do with blood status, he knew that much, looking up to the ceiling in thought now. Rude for him to do so with her in his arms as he soon let go after the tight hug.
Regaining his mind, he soon looked towards her in return, examining her attire. Sure, he didn't mind her dressing up to whatever she saw fit, but he also had to make sure it was appropriate so any other boys didn't mess with her. Wondering if anyone had indeed been giving her trouble lately, otherwise if they had he'd beat them to a pulp right before her. Anyone daring to hit on Alarica in front of him risked getting beat up, not that he really could do much damage. After all that's what mostly spells were for when he really couldn't think of anything else to harm someone with. Words only went so far, and his absurd need to protect his sister is what drove him on.
To strive and thrive upon being the best big brother for her. Another reason they probably got along so well and were almost like true brother and sister. That was it, Steve, vaguely remembered her being adopted just then, however, zipped his lips before anything came out. It was hard for him to keep secrets, but he had managed to, so he was going to continue this falsehood. Plus, it was better that no one knew about her true alignment as he then looked down at her pulling away to sit down on steps near them. "Has anyone been giving you trouble lately at all?" he asked her curiously.
