Her class before lunch had been the O.W.L.s class and she hadn't had a chance to really clean up before heading up to the castle. A quick scourgify had cleaned her hands well enough for her to be comfortable eating, which is what she did as soon as she reached the great hall. Talking with her colleagues and friends it wasn't long before she had to head back down to the lake to prepare of her next class, which happened to be the NEWTs.
Her blue jeans were dirty but Scarlett found she couldn't quite care. It was way better than when she had worked with dragons. Straightening and putting away the things from the previous class she pulled out plenty of containers containing streelers. They weren't necessarily a hard creature to care for, after all they were just a type of snail. The only reason she didn't have them for the owls class was she was afraid that they would somehow end up injuring themselves. And the ministry wouldn't have been too pleased with that.
Feeling she was ready she plopped down on the grass and waited. There was still plenty of time for the students to get here. She always started a few minutes late to give most of them time to get to class before she had to take away points. She was going to look forward to this class indeed.

Sitting at the Hufflepuff table in the Great Hall, Poppy wasn’t sure if she wanted to scarf down her food to get it done quickly, or pace herself to avoid sickness. To anyone else that may have been a trivial dilemma, but it was actually important. She had one of her favourite classes next and she had to pick between getting there early or feeling uneasy for the few half-hour or so and probably not being able to concentrate. She came up with this problem almost every day when she had Care of Magical Creatures after lunch, and had yet to come up with the best solution. Today, she decided to eat half of what she normally would to get down quicker and hopefully avoid sickness. She slipped her backpack into place when she was finished, and stopped to wash her hands before heading out to the lake where the lesson was to be held. (Maybe washing her hands before comc was a little redundant, but she did it nonetheless. She was used to always washing at home.)
There was a pep in her quick steps as she made her way toward the water, humming a happy tune as she went. She loved being outdoors just as much as staying inside, and Care of Magical Creatures had always been one of her favourite, and best classes. It didn’t involve much memorization, and was a good deal hands on; two things that Poppy greatly appreciated about it. It was one of the few classes she did well in and didn’t stress herself out about because it came almost naturally to her. Not that she slacked off, it was just more in her nature than others.
As she neared the lake and saw her professor sitting on the grass, she gave a wide smile and a wave. “Good afternoon professor,” she said brightly once she was within ear-shot. “What are we doing today?” she inquired, letting her bag drop, and joining her teacher on the grass, though mindful of her uniform and crossing her legs. She still have some time to wait; she was always one of the first to most of her classes.

Lunchtime was close to ending so there were people leaving the great hall as well as rushing in to grab a quick bite before they were late to class. Shailene had been there from the start, she liked to be punctual even for lunch. She sat there eating her food and chatting with a few people that were around her. Care of magical creatures was her next class one and Shailene favorite. She just adored animals even the creepy crawly types. They always interested her with all the things they did to help humans live or just by how cute they were.
Shailene put her water bottle in her polka dotted bag which she slung over her shoulder as she got up from the table. As she walked down toward the lake where the class was held, Shailene wondered what exactly they would be learning today. It was always such a surprise turning up in this class, one never knew what type of dangers there were running into today.
As she approached the usual spot where the class met, Shailene saw two forms one being the professor and the other Poppy Longbottom. "Good afternoon professor." She smiled to Professor Evans. "Hi Poppy." She said as she saw next to the girl on the grass minding to cross her legs in a lady like fashion as to not show more than she intended to.

It's time for Care for Magical Varmints! Hughes quietly mused to himself as he left the castle and onto the grounds. At least, that was what he thought of the class he took in America. He didn't even know why he decided he was going to take this class again in England...maybe it was just for familiarity's sake. Maybe he just thought the varmints were cute. Who knows, who cares. Hughes didn't. He just showed up to class.
Upon arriving, he saw three people there already – two Hufflepuff gals and the professor herself. Now girls were not exactly Hughes' thing, but he figured he'd best go and introduce himself to them on the account that he hadn't made any friends at school yet. The musclehead put on his most charming smile and came closer to the rest of the group.
“Afternoon Professor,” he greeted Professor Evans. “Howdy, ladies.” He would have tipped his hat to them if he had one. A slight bow to the professor then to both his classmates was the replacing gesture. “Name's Hughes Bromden. I'm that new kid who transferred.” While waiting a for the rest of the students to arrive, Hughes turned again to the Hufflepuffs and discreetly asked, “So I'm all fer the little critters...but what do ya'll think of yonder professor?”

Bradley had spent most of his morning in classes that had resulted in him being bored to tears. Sure he didn't have a bunch of classes like most other students had, he had chosen to pursue only a few classes to NEWTs levels, but it had just been one of those days already. He'd already received a detention for being late. So he was quite relieved when lunch had come around. Still he didn't have time to leisurely eat. He had a class after lunch and he still had to go to the library to find a book for an essay he was writing.
He had shoveled his food into his mouth fast and quickly swallowed a goblet of water. There wasn't much time left. He had gone straight to the library and grabbed the book he needed. Bradley shoved the book in the bag at his side, earning a glare from the librarian. She had probably thought he had ruined her precious book. Taking off he headed down to the lake where care of magical creatures usually took place. It was easily one of the most interesting and his favorite class of the day. it's what he had looked forward to all morning.
Already the professor was there with two fellow hufflepuffs and a ravenclaw he had never seen before. Nodding to the professor he said, "Afternoon Professor." Taking a place beside Shailene and Poppy he smiled. "Poppy. Shailene. Are you excited for class to start?

She always found it interesting and almost easy, Being a magical creature to some degree herself she didn't find it overly challenging working with other creatures. She once considered it a possible career choice but thought against it. In truth she wasn't sure what she would do after her seventh year.
She walked over to where the other students were standing hoping to see a familiar face. However there was no one there yet from her house. That was a slight disappointment but then again not everyone was going for the N.E.W.T.s or more specifically wanting to take this class since it really wasn't required. Either way she was glad to be outside for a class. That was another reason why she was taking the course.
She stood quietly giving a slight nod to the professor in respect. She stood slightly away from the others. She did recognize some of them but still did not know anyone. It was alright since she knew that the class would start up soon and she would just need to focus on the lecture.

Scarlett supposed she had better get started. Any students who came in could just blend in quietly and as long as they didn't interrupt the class she wasn't going to take house points this time. Standing up from her position she stood over the cages where the snails were being kept. Afternoon class. We're going to go ahead and get started. Now these creatures aren't necessarily all that hard to care for but I didn't trust my OWL students with them." Motioning for the class to come closer she peered down at the snails. Currently they were orange but she knew that they were bound to change. It's what the creatures did.
Feeling that everyone had moved closer she decided to continue. "These are classed as XXX by the ministry of magic. However I'm confident that you will handle these carefully if you have to touch them. These are known as Streelers. Can anyone tell me where they are originally from? Or how about some of their properties." Scarlett knew it wasn't the most interesting lesson but she hadn't had the time to get proper clearance for some of the more dangerous creatures. She was sure the ministry would get back to her before the next lesson. She hoped to have a much more interesting one by then. Scarlett waited to see if any of the students would answer her questions.
This class has been changed and you may continue posting until november starts.
