The muggle studies professor strode down the corridor and stood in the doorway to his classroom. His eyes peered around as he flicked on the lights. The classroom itself resembled a primary school class room. A chalkboard up at the front, a white board on wheels off to the side and individual desks lined in neat rows. He planned on seating them alphabetically as well, they wanted to learn what it was like for muggle children, well he wasn’t going to hold back.
Sweeping into his room, he made his way to the desk up the front of the class room, taking off his robe and hanging it from his chair. Opening a draw in his desk, he took out a piece of white chalk before turning to the blackboard. 'Welcome to Muggle Studies' he wrote up the very top of the board before moving to the middle. 'Professor Judas Delacroix' he wrote his name, wondering just how many students would be able to pronounce his last name. Setting the chalk down, he turned and instead of taking a seat in his chair, he walked around the desk before sitting on it, facing the classroom, watching as students begun piling in. A clock next to the door ticked loudly and his eyes drifted to it. Ah time to start the first class, he smiled.
"Welcome," he started, turning his attention back to his class, "Due to the goblet of fire ceremony and such, you were given a few weeks off from this class." He paused, letting his students get use to his thick French accented voice. "I am Professor Judas Delacroix, although you may call me Professor D, Mr D or Sir, I will answer to any of those. So a little about me, I was born in Versailles France and the youngest of 3. We moved to London when I was six, and I was sorted into Slytherin when it was my turn to come here. My mother is an English muggle, my father a French pureblood." He kicked his legs back and forth in a child like manner. "Now let’s go around the room and introduce yourself, what house you are in and a little on what you hope to achieve from here and in life starting with you." He turned to the nearest student and pointed at them, wanting them to start with the whole getting to know the class. A very muggle thing to do.

The alarm clock rang loud shattering the silence in the room. Shailene popped out of bed like a pop tart, something she recently learned about from Joshua, causing her Potions book to go crashing into the floor with a thump. Once again Shailene had exhausted herself trying to keep up with all her classes. It was quite common for the little Hufflepuff to fall asleep with books scattered around her. At least she learned her lesson about leaving her ink bottle open on the bed. Shailene ran across the room trying to find everything she needed for the morning. She would have to skip breakfast for fear of being late to class. It wouldn't be a good reflection on herself to be late, especially since she was a prefect. After all Prefects were suppose to have themselves together all the time, weren't they?
Dressing quickly into her school robes Shailene grabbed her trademark polka dotted bag, which she slung over her shoulder, and rushed out of the common room. As she hit the first floor the smell of breakfast oozing from the great hall made her stomach growl. It would just have to wait until lunch. Finally making her way to the fifth floor to her Muggle Studies class room Shailene saw her Professor go into the classroom. Hopefully that wasn't a sign that she was late but even if she was it wasn't by much.
Adjusting the strap on her shoulder more securely she made her way down the hallway and slipped into the classroom. Shailene couldn't believe that she saw...an empty classroom. No one was here yet, other than the professor, she had time to spare. "Darn it." Shailene muttered as she claimed an open desk near the front. The Hufflepuff was usually in a happy mood but knowing she would have to go hungry all morning when she wasn't even running late was not making her a happy camper.
Students began pouring in and by the look on their faces they were lucky enough to get some breakfast in them. Shailene began to unload her bag, placing a polka dotted notebook on top of her desk, along with a quill and ink. She tossed her bag over the back of the seat and waited for the class to begin.
Soon the room was filled with the most attractive voice Shailene had ever heard. Their Professor was French and his accent was marvelous as well as his appearance. Being a sixteen year old girl was hard enough dealing with all the cute boys that she shared a class with but she could ignore them. Having a Professor that was handsome well Shailene feared she might receive her first grade below an E.
Professor Delacroix told the class a bit about himself, how he was born in France, the youngest of three, and went to Hogwarts as a Slytherin student. Shailene was so caught up in his accent that she didn't notice he was pointing at her until last minute. What on earth is he pointing at me for? She asked herself, her cheeks turning a tint of pink. I remember he was saying something about... houses! She thought quickly trying to save herself from more embarrassment. "Hufflepuff!" She yelled a little too loudly. Looking around the class she realized she did something wrong. Her cheeks were now a bright red as she tried vanishing in her seat by scooting down in it.
"My name is Shailene Wood and I'm a sixth year Hufflepuff." Shailene stated with a small smile. She sat back up in her chair her eyes never looking up from her hands which were placed on the desk. She began picking at her nails doing anything possible from looking up at the Professor. "This year I would hope that this class could achieve to acknowledge the differences and similarities between the magical world and the muggle world. Although there are differences in the way we do things we, as humans, are still the same emotionally. We are all driven by the same things just go about them in different ways." Shailene said rather quickly, chancing a glance up at Professor Delacroix hoping he approved of her answer.

The girl he pointed to seemed to be a million miles away from the class. Now he couldn’t have that in his class, after all he hadn’t even begun teaching. Was he really that boring...well he didn’t think so. She must have realised the class was waiting on her as she shouted Hufflepuff. Well he hadn’t asked for her house, nut hey if she felt telling the whole class what was obvious, then hey she could go right ahead.
Shailene Wood, her name was a nice name for a cute girl. No wait, make that an adorable girl. He couldn’t help but chuckle at her and her reddened cheeks which seemed to make her even more adorable. He caught her smile before she continued with her answer of what she wanted from the class. So she wanted the differences and similarities of the muggle world and the magical world. It was a good answer, one that he hadn’t been expected. He expected half of the class to say that they wanted a good grade from the class and for the other half to say that this class had been the better option in their third year to take.
"Well Miss Hufflepuff," he lightly teased her although liking the little nickname already, "If you wish to learn all that, they perhaps you should pay more attention to what’s going on around you rather than what is going on in that pretty little head of yours." His eyes lingered on her for a moment before he turned to the student next to her, nodding at them, indicating that they could speak next.

Muggle Studies. It was almost an embarrassment to be taking such a class, especially since Ethan was a Slytherin. Not many Slytherin ventured into this class except those who were half blood, like himself, or those rare few muggleborns. Ethan was proud to be a half blood now but when he was younger he use to hate himself for being a half blood. The pureblooded Slytherins would tease him for it and him taking muggle studies. Ethan remember when he asked his mother what was wrong with being a half blood or a muggleborn. She told him nothing was wrong with it just others needed people to discriminate for no reason. Ethan never doubted himself since then.
But his liking for muggle studies was decreasing. It was becoming a bore for he didn't feel like the professor was able to teach him anything that he didn't already know. But for now it was just an easy grade, one that he needed.
Ethan arrived at said class and took his seat. The Professor wanted to go around the class and have everyone introduce himself and he started by pointing at a Hufflepuff girl who just wasn't paying attention. She seemed a bit whacked in the head, shouting things and such. It was much too early for that. Now it was his turn, although he didn't really want to participate Ethan began to speak. "I'm Ethan Frost, Slytherin sixth year." He felt no need to explain his situation of being a sixth year when he was eighteen years old. "I"m here for an easy O, its as simple as that." Ethan added not feeling bad for admitting that was his task.

Waiting for the Professor's approval was exhausting. Shailene felt as if she was waiting a century but she knew hardly ten seconds had gone by before he began to speak. The cheeks that had just been close to its normal color flared back up again once she heard his respond. It both embarrassed her and made the butterflies in her stomach pick up their pace. The Professor had called her Miss Hufflepuff which she wasn't sure if it was just a name he used for students in general, as in Miss Gryffindor and Mr Ravenclaw but she did hope it was a name that might be reserved for her.
It also wasn't helping that he had admitted that her head was pretty, maybe the attraction wasn't just one way. Shailene shook her head lightly knowing that her mind was heading into uncharted and forbidden waters, let alone most unlikely. She would just have to get over the fact that she had a crush on her Professor within the first five minutes of class and focus on the studies. "Sorry Professor Delacroix, it won't happen again." She said, taking time to try and pronounce his name right.
Shailene wondered how exactly this class was going to pan out for her, she didn't not want to receive a low grade due to how handsome the professor was. Perhaps if she just closed her eyes and listened that would be easier. Trying out the new solution, Shailene closed her eyes and listened as Ethan Frost began to talk. "Much better." She said lightly to herself.
