her robes swished around her as she headed toward her classroom, having decided she'd had time to grab breakfast and still have time to ready the classroom for the first lesson of the year. taylor was excited for teaching the class, this being the first time she'd have taught a class at all, seeing as she'd previously been a proffessional quidditch player. but she'd always loved hogwarts and charms, and so once she'd been forced to retire due to an injury, her first choice had been hogwarts (nobody wanted to fully retire at twenty-nine now did they!?). she'd also been granted the privelidge of head of slytherin house - her old house she'd been in all those years ago.
pushing open the door to her classroom, taylor surveyed it quickly. she'd pushed the tables and chairs to the edges of the room for now, and piled cushions around the room, along with a book here and there. taylor wanted to grab the attention of her class from right off, so instead of starting with a dull lesson, she was going to jump right in with her OWLs and teach them accio. a very handy little charm. the cushions were for practise until they got the hang of it and tried something heavier - like a book. (she didn't want heavy books flying around until they knew what they were doing).
checking the time, taylor noticed her students should be arriving pretty much any time now, and so she swept toward the front of the classroom by her desk (the only desk remaining out) and stood before it, pausing to turn to the blackboard and write - using her wand - the words welcome to charms class, i am proffessor paxton.
ooc , alright class, post below!

exiting the great hall before the rest of the crowds, jez remained quiet. she didn't like being early for lessons, but she really hated being crushed by a crowd. so she'd picked being early over being swept into the bustle of students toward her lesson. she hadn't seen hugo this morning, and she wondered where he was, but she didn't want to wait - yes, she really didn't want to get crushed by the damn crowd, and she didn't really have any good friends - she didn't trust people that often.
she wrapped her arms around her, the picture of unease as she crossed the quiet hallway, despite the fact that she raised her chin in defiance in case anyone decided to cross her. that was the thing, she was so wary and defensive, and yet fiesty. such a contradiction. jez took the stairs to the third floor and up to the charms classroom, opening the door and blinking as she noticed it wasn't like normal.
a little surprised and thrown off, jez headed for the back right corner, trying to stay out the way once all the others piled in and most likely crowded the front. looking from the teacher, to the board, then the cushions, jez pondered as to what they'd be learning today.

Charmian was usually very energetic, no matter the time of day. This day was no different as she pulled on her gryffindor robes and secured her hair with a pin to keep the long strands out of her eyes. Ready to go for the day she went down to the great hall and took a seat at the gryffindor table. Eating slowly and talking to the people around her. Some of them got up to head to class and Charmian decided she might as well go as well. If anything she could walk very slowly to avoid getting there too early, or at all.
Slowly walking through the corridors she kept looking for something that would keep her distracted. Her first class of the day just had to be charms, the class she despised most of all. Charmian wasn't even sure why she did,she just hated it. All to soon for her she found herself in front of the charms classroom and entered. Looking around the room she was sad to say she hadn't walked slow enough. She was the second person to arrive and she wondered where she would sit. Jessamine, the other girl in the room, was definately out. Charmian had only talked to her once and now avoided it at all costs. It wasn't pleasant. Heading to the opposite side in the back she hoped the class wouldn't be too long.

Dom had slept and instead of going to breakfast and being late just for the fun of it like she usually did she decided to head straight for charms, that way she could just say she had slept in and thats why she hadn't eaten anything at breakfast this morning. She wasn't really sure what she thought of this professor, on one hand she had been a proffessional Quidditch player which almost automatically made her cool on the other she was head of Slytherin which was not so great and she tought charms which was definitly not one of Dom's favourite subject, there wasn't enough running around, talking and opertunities to prank people for her to like charms.
Spotting Charmain in one of the back corners, Dom grinned at her pranking buddy hoping there was something they could do to make this class more fun. She headed towards her fellow Gryffindor and took a seat beside her, her eyes quickly spotting the pile of cushions at the front of the room prehaps they could all have a pillow fight today, that'd be fun. Turning to Charmain, she asked her classmate, "What's up with all the cushions?" [/size]

taylor watched quietly as a few students filtered in, gaze trailing over them lightly before glancing at the clock. time to start her lesson. stepping forward so as to draw attention to herself, proffessor paxton gave a kind half smile to her students. "greeting class, and welcome to the first lesson of charms this year. i am proffessor paxton." she said, just incase nobody had bothered to read the board and take note.
taylor moved infront of the class, striding slowly backwards and forwards, wand between her right fingertips. looking toward the individuals, she spoke again, "today we'll be focusing on the charm accio... can anybody tell me the charms purpose?" she asked, throwing the question out there in order to try and get the class on the ball already. she was sure they'd be questioning the cushions..but if they hadn't already figured that they were to what the students would be safely summoning, then they soon would. taylor gaze at the students, pausing in her movements to wait for one to answer, knowing that if they'd been reading their textbook, they should.
